[Paul steps into Beanies, adjusting his suit jacket in the back to fully cover his pants waist. He has everything he needs for what he's carrying, but still. As these timelines usually go, he got a job at CCRP and has been wanting to get to know a fairly recently hired barista. On his break, he's in for his black coffee. As he waits in line, he hears a teen at a table by a window quietly talking to themself. Not the weirdest thing in this town by a longshot, maybe they were just on the phone. Still, he keeps an ear out.]

They know they're too little to be left home alone, thats what Miss Holloway said. They don't quite believe her, cause Mama used to leave them on their own, but they're here now. Sprout stands in the middle of the Matthews' living room, backpack straps gripped tightly as they look up at Paul warily.]

[Paul's been told about his boyfriend's little sibling. Plus he's seen them a few times when he came over to their apartment and the diner to hang out with him. It always felt weird and kind of awkward to just introduce himself to this 10-year-old so he just... never did it. But, Oliver and his foster mom Miss Holloway need to do something today and Paul agreed to watch Oliver's little sibling while they were out. It's the least he can do. He stands looking like he's about to have a western duel with the kid in his living room, relieved when they break the silence. He can't help but smile, having to suppress a laugh. If he didn't already know Oliver and Sprout weren't blood related, he could have easily been fooled. That's pretty close to how he remembers Oliver coming out to a few people, actually. Paul nods.]

Okay. Well, I don't really know what counts as "girl tv" other than, like... Powerpuff Girls or Totally Spies or something, but we don't have to watch those. But- uh, my name is Paul. I am a boy.
