I was just thinking about how I usually make Xisuma 16-17 when he joins hermitcraft in my fics and I just like.
Because it was only supposed to be an escape from his home. A new home where he could start again, but then his home was destroyed and They took so many of the friends he had made. And now he’s responsible for picking up the pieces because the server Chose Him to be it’s Admin. Despite everything.
And who better to run a server than a kid (who is also pretty much considered a baby in his own species) and has never had Admin training. What better way to build resentment…

Finding references to Arabs in Greek mythology is so much fun like did you know that Hermes was the ancestor of Arabs through his son Arabius? Or that Aesop claims that Hermes made Arabs wicked bc they stole from his cart? (Ancient racism lol) Or that Dionysus grew up in a mountain in Arabia? Or that the mythical Aethiopia is sometime placed in the Arabian peninsula? It’s all so silly.
It's very interesting indeed how the myths have been inspired and some are connected, like early historical records showing the influence of early Greek culture and how also them were influenced.
Also mass need for people to finally start seeing the mega influence Sumerian, Persian, Mesopotamian mythology had on these cultures.
#still baffles me people don't research about ancient arab persian etc myths#like guys the flow of history and time#the evolution#the rise and fall of civilizations#the first ones starting at middle east and how many people have forgotten about the ancient cultures that thrived there#ask

I've been enjoying playing Star Wars: Outlaws, reading The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, listening to the A More Civilized Age podcast do their read-through of the Heir to the Empire trilogy, and sitting someone special down for their first watch-through of Andor. This Star Wars fan has to admit that he's eating good right now.

there remained under the New Republic groups who idolized the Imperial aesthetic and tried to present a “clean” version of the Imperial military, which championed their training and military effectiveness while ignoring their war crimes and atrocities. This should not be allowed to stand unopposed.
-The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire (2024)
Holy shit, we got Wehraboos in the GFFA, LOL.

The rise and fall of civilizations in the long, broad course of history can be seen to have been largely a function of the integrity and cogency of their supporting canons of myth; for not authority but aspiration is the motivator, builder, and transformer of civilization.

Sonic CD: The Last Days of Little Planet
A Story of Time, Fate, and the Last Civilization
The Final Timeline of Moebius and Little Planet
5076 A.D. – The Fall of the Egg of Rome
The Egg of Rome, the last great space station of humanity, crashes onto Moebius.
Little Planet is torn from the wreckage, forming a floating metallic sphere.
The reactor core of the station is expelled, violently exploding into space—becoming the new sun.
Moebius remains a dead world, its surface littered with metallic debris.
5034 A.D. – The First Civilization of Little Planet
The survivors of Little Planet begin their struggle to terraform their broken world.
Using hydroponics and synthetic engineering, they create water, agriculture, and atmosphere.
Little Planet becomes self-sustaining, a metal wasteland turned into a livable world.
The survivors believe they are the last humans in existence.
5674 A.D. – The Birth of Moebius
Moebius was lifeless until a massive rupture in the Egg of Rome’s biostock storage.
Synthetic plant fluids burst free, spreading across the planet’s surface.
Forests, oceans, rivers, and ecosystems formed overnight.
The last surviving engineers of the station were incinerated when the core was expelled into space.
Moebius was now a living world, but an unnatural one—created by accident.
5701 A.D. – The Emergence of the Echidnas
The Echidnas, once normal Earth animals, had been stored in bio-containment chambers within the station’s zoo sector.
During the crash, their containment was buried deep underground, shielding them from the planet’s rapid evolution.
They emerged from their underground chambers fully evolved, highly intelligent, and with an innate knowledge of the world’s past.
The Religious Quarter of the Egg of Rome had also survived the crash, and the Echidnas discovered it.
Using the ancient archives, they formed a structured, religious civilization, believing themselves to be the chosen guardians of lost knowledge.
They would one day build Angel Island, raising their city into the sky to protect their sacred history.
5704 A.D. – The Birth of the First Hedgehogs
Hedgehogs were the first successful evolutionary mutation of Moebius.
Unlike the Echidnas, who evolved naturally, the hedgehogs mutated from the fusion of Olutionium radiation and human DNA.
The first two hedgehogs that emerged were unlike anything before—anthropomorphic, intelligent, and fast.
Over time, they spread their DNA into other species, creating the first wave of anthropomorphic life.
Every single anthro animal, including future Echidnas, Foxes, and Cats, originated from them.
5722 A.D. – The Awakening of Dr. Robotnik
Dr. Julian Kintobor, age 27, awakes from cryo-stasis after 646 years.
Moebius has changed. Life has evolved in ways that should have been impossible.
Above him, Little Planet still floats—the last true human civilization.
Robotnik sees it as his last hope, his lost utopia.
5723 A.D. – The Settling of Little Planet (PAST LEVELS)
The past versions of Sonic CD’s stages are set in this year—Robotnik’s first year on Little Planet.
He is not yet fully in control, but his machines begin appearing.
The humans of Little Planet are still free but begin to feel his influence.
Time distortions begin, as Robotnik experiments with rewriting history.
5723-5734 A.D. – The Chaining of Little Planet
Robotnik realizes he is not yet strong enough to conquer it.
Instead, he chains Little Planet to Moebius, keeping it locked in place.
Over the next twelve years, he slowly infiltrates its infrastructure.
The humans do not resist.
Many believe Robotnik is bringing order to their world.
Others fear him but are too pacified to act.
The Present levels in Sonic CD take place here—Stardust Speedway has become a neon-lit dystopia, but its people still live.
5734 A.D. – Sonic CD Begins
Robotnik is ready to rewrite history.
His machines have begun rewriting the past, ensuring the worst possible future.
The last humans are still alive but pacified, living under Robotnik’s rule.
If Sonic fails, they will be completely erased.
The Three Futures: The Last Choice of Humanity
The Bad Future (If Sonic Fails)
✔ The last humans vanish, wiped from history. ✔ Little Planet is fully mechanized, a lifeless robotic wasteland. ✔ Robotnik has rewritten time to his liking.
The Present (The Current World)
✔ The last humans still exist, but they are pacified. ✔ They live in a dystopian neon-lit world, monitored and controlled. ✔ They believe they are safe, but they are not free.
The Good Future (If Sonic Succeeds)
✔ The last humans rise, breaking free from Robotnik’s grasp. ✔ Technology and nature coexist, creating a true utopia. ✔ Little Planet is no longer trapped—it belongs to the people.
The Final Battle: The Last Stand for the Last Humans
Sonic races through the twisted streets of Stardust Speedway, through the dying future and the broken past, as the last humans watch from the shadows.
Will they live to see another sunrise? Or will they be erased forever?
As Sonic confronts Robotnik in Metallic Madness, he sees the future flashing before his eyes.
He makes his choice.
He destroys Robotnik’s machines.
The chains break.
Little Planet is free.
And then—it vanishes into the cosmos.
Epilogue: The Vanishing of Little Planet
Little Planet never returned.
The cycle was broken.
Some say it still exists, drifting beyond the stars.
Some say the last humans live on, finally free.
And some say that if you listen carefully, on quiet nights when the stars shine just right,
you can still hear the echoes of Stardust Speedway—faint neon lights flickering in the void.
Sonic never looked back.
Because some things are meant to be lost.
Some things are meant to be free.
And some things—like Little Planet—never should have existed at all.

sometimes i miss my myth-based muses. my gods, my primordials, my demons, my sweet nymphs. my mortal children of deities.
#i miss the long-standing changes over time for muses who live on and on and on. who live through centuries and millennia. who witness#the rises and falls of civilizations. of universes and timelines. who watch other beings like them crumble and collapse.#writing maria makes me miss my nymphs & a.lk.ippe. my sweet curious little creatures. granted marias fantasy/medieval au is a nymph.#all this to say: the Thoughts i have on the being that nancys abilities stem from very much gives me a joint vibe as being something#along the lines of how ive written g.od / k.haos / n.yx before elsewhere. just something ancient and brooding and lurking around.#not outright benevolent nor malicious - it just is. not outright cruel or generous - it just is.

I saw your post about Netflix Alexander and I'm so sad when Netflix and others (but especially netflix) turning really wholesome deep friendship (in Alexander case we don't have sources that there was relationship) into relationship
Why everything should be around sexual orientation and relationships at all? Why not to show deep bond with a friend, because friendship, especially such close, important too?
Not to mention that first of all, he's a great historical figure and technically we should concentrate on his deeds more than relationships.
I really believe it's the issue on a global scale that everything that's produced in media must have some dose of romance in it. Alexander isn't called the Great for no reason. In a short period of time he did a remarkable job of unifying Greece, spreading his empire and greek culture. He was someone from over 2.300 years ago did something Great and people honour his achievements, not what he did in bed.
Every time a new movie/series/book comes around what's their main genre? Romance. What we don't often see now? Friends. How many times a romance book has a protagonist that only has a friend that works as a plot device to boost the romance? Many times
It isn't relatable at all. When I and i am certain many others go out with their friends men and romance aren't the only topics to discuss. Personally we crack jokes, we talk about work, university, art, history, good and bad news in our lives. My conversations with my friends can literally skip from one topic to the next and we lose track of time.
What does media do? Shows a conversation that begins and ends with romance. They don't mention the depth of friendships, inside jokes, some past memories, experiences.
Media has brainwashed people into valuing and putting first romance to the point they forget FRIENDSHIP IS AS POWERFUL AS ROMANCE. People can have friends as soulmates without anything sexual. People are more than their sexuality. People have beliefs, dreams, goals, aspirations, struggles like any human does in life.
Love IS a driving force that isn't only connected to romance and people should stop glorifying this.
#seriously leave Alexander Cleopatra alone at this point#move on#it's honestly sad their great values are overshadowed because of modern ideas that don't respect their character#yes romance is juicy and all but how cool is reading of the achievements ancient civilizations did?#how kingdoms and empires rise and fall?#how many powerful families often get destroyed by greed and jealousy?#how political struggles show the ironic human side of us that never changes?#ask

#OTD in 1943 – Death of suffragist, trade unionist and Irish independence activist, Winifred Carney, in Belfast.
Close to the entrance of Milltown Cemetery is a limestone monument which marks the grave of a remarkable woman – Maria Winifred Carney. Winnie was born in Bangor, Co Down, but moved to the Falls Road in Belfast at an early age. She was born into a fairly comfortable family, and was one of seven children. Her mother and father Alfred and Sarah, were estranged, therefore, Sarah, was left to rear…

An outstanding student, Houston graduated as one of six valedictorians from Amherst College in Massachusetts in 1915. After teaching for two years at Howard University in Washington, D.C., he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was commissioned first lieutenant in a segregated training unit of the infantry. He was later commissioned as a second lieutenant in field artillery and served in France and Germany during World War I. Houston was outraged at the treatment of black soldiers accused of crimes. They were unfairly sentenced to long terms, often without evidence to substantiate the charges against them. Houston became determined to change things.

Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War
Back in the 2000s, there came out a real-time strategy game called Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War that let you play as the Egyptians, Persians, Greeks, or Romans. It wasn't a hit, is barely remembered now, and critics said that its gameplay was too generic for the genre. One remarkable feature it did have was that each civilization had two hero units that you could assume control of in an alternate third-person RPG mode. The Egyptians had Ramses II and Cleopatra, the Persians had Nebuchadnezzar and Sargon (neither of whom were actually Persian), the Greeks had Alexander and Achilles, and the Romans Julius Caesar and one other dude whose name I forget.
The game's depiction of each civilization was, of course, chock full of historical inaccuracies, and I never liked how it "whitewashed" the Egyptians (in the ethnic sense, mind you). However, one particular creative liberty the game took with history that I actually kinda like has to do with the single-player campaign around Cleopatra. It portrays her as this fierce archer queen who fought the Romans on the battlefield in person. That's almost not historically accurate at all, but honestly, the idea of Cleopatra as a warrior instead of just a seductress or manipulator has a certain appeal to me. One wishes it was actually the case.
For the most part, however, the game wasn't that great from what I remember. You can download it from a number of abandonware sites, but I've yet to do so myself.
