Why Enterprises Need Quantum-Safe Cryptography in SAP: Securing the Future with NeuVays

In today’s digital-first business environment, enterprise data security is no longer a back-office IT function—it is a strategic priority. Organizations worldwide depend on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) to power innovation, analytics, and process automation. However, the rapid evolution of quantum computing is threatening the cryptographic foundations of even the most secure SAP landscapes.
To stay ahead of this curve, enterprises must act now to adopt quantum-safe cryptography in SAP, safeguarding their most valuable digital assets before quantum decryption capabilities become mainstream. NeuVays, a forward-looking SAP partner, is pioneering Quantum-Safe SAP BTP Architecture to help enterprises secure their digital ecosystems—today and tomorrow.
🔐 The Threat: Quantum Computing and Cryptographic Risk
Traditional encryption algorithms such as RSA and ECC have protected enterprise data for decades. But with the advancement of quantum computing, these classical methods are at risk. Quantum machines, once powerful enough, can break current encryption schemes in a fraction of the time required by classical computers.
The risk is particularly alarming for enterprises using SAP systems to store and process:
Financial transactions
Personal identifiable information (PII)
Intellectual property (IP)
Supply chain data
This creates a scenario known as "harvest now, decrypt later," where malicious actors capture encrypted data today to decrypt it in the near-future once quantum capabilities mature.
🧬 What Is Quantum-Safe Cryptography?
Quantum-safe cryptography, also called post-quantum cryptography (PQC), refers to cryptographic algorithms designed to be secure against quantum computing attacks. These include methods like:
Lattice-based cryptography
Code-based cryptography
Multivariate polynomial equations
Hash-based signatures
These algorithms are being standardized by global institutions like NIST and ISO, signaling their importance in future-proofing digital infrastructures.
💡 Why Enterprises Need Quantum-Safe Cryptography in SAP
1. Future-Proof Enterprise Data Security
SAP systems hold the digital DNA of an organization. From customer data to business logic and financials, a breach in SAP can cripple operations and trust. Adopting quantum-safe encryption ensures that enterprise data stored or transmitted via SAP BTP remains secure in the quantum era.
2. Regulatory Compliance and Long-Term Confidentiality
Data protection laws like the GDPR, DPDP Act (India), and HIPAA mandate long-term confidentiality of sensitive data. Quantum-safe cryptography ensures encrypted records remain compliant decades into the future.
3. Defending Against “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” Attacks
Even if a quantum attack doesn’t happen tomorrow, data exfiltrated today may still be decrypted later. With SAP BTP encryption framework, NeuVays integrates hybrid encryption models that combine traditional and post-quantum algorithms to eliminate such risks.
4. Strengthening the SAP BTP Security Framework
SAP BTP provides several native tools to manage security—role-based access, identity authentication, logging, and encryption. Quantum-safe cryptography enhances the existing SAP BTP security model by securing its weakest links: long-lived secrets and cryptographic keys.

In today’s digital-first world, businesses are increasingly moving towards multi-cloud environments to maintain flexibility, improve resilience, and adopt the best-of-breed services from different cloud providers. However, integrating applications, data, and systems across these diverse environments poses significant challenges. This is where SAP BTP solutions—SAP's Business Technology Platform—step in to deliver seamless, scalable, and secure integration capabilities that bridge on-premise and cloud systems across multiple platforms.
SAP BTP is more than just a technology stack—it's a unified platform that combines database and data management, analytics, application development, and integration into one cohesive suite. For organizations operating across hybrid and multi-cloud landscapes, SAP BTP acts as the connective tissue that ensures interoperability, business continuity, and data harmonization across disparate systems.
The Rise of Multi-Cloud Strategy
Enterprises are embracing multi-cloud strategies for several reasons. By leveraging services from multiple cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and SAP Cloud, companies avoid vendor lock-in, optimize costs, and take advantage of specialized services. However, this approach also increases complexity, especially when integrating applications and data residing in different environments.
Traditional middleware and point-to-point integration methods are ill-equipped to handle this complexity. What businesses need are intelligent, scalable integration solutions that are cloud-agnostic and future-ready. This is precisely what SAP BTP solutions offer.
What is SAP BTP?
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is a comprehensive platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering from SAP that provides tools and services to build, integrate, and extend applications in the cloud and on-premise. The platform includes capabilities for:
Integration
Application development
Automation
Data and analytics
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
For multi-cloud environments, the integration services provided by SAP BTP are particularly valuable. They help enterprises streamline data flow, orchestrate business processes, and ensure system compatibility regardless of the underlying infrastructure.
SAP BTP Integration Suite: The Core Enabler
At the heart of SAP BTP's integration capabilities is the SAP Integration Suite—a set of tools that allow businesses to integrate applications, data, and processes efficiently. Key features include:
Pre-built connectors and adapters for SAP and third-party applications
API management to secure and manage APIs across clouds
Event-driven architecture to enable real-time responsiveness
Business process integration to model and automate workflows
Low-code/no-code tools for rapid integration development
These tools enable consistent integration across different environments, whether it’s connecting SAP S/4HANA with Salesforce or integrating legacy ERP systems with modern cloud applications.
Seamless Connectivity in a Multi-Cloud Landscape
SAP BTP solutions enhance integration across multi-cloud environments in several ways:

SAP BTP supports deployments on major cloud providers including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. This cloud-agnostic approach ensures that integration scenarios can be executed regardless of where applications are hosted. It empowers organizations to retain the flexibility of choosing the best cloud infrastructure for each workload without compromising integration.
2. Unified API Management
With APIs becoming the new digital glue, SAP BTP’s API Management capability enables centralized governance and monitoring of APIs. Whether an application resides in Azure, AWS, or SAP Cloud Platform, businesses can expose, secure, and manage APIs uniformly. This simplifies cross-cloud communication and accelerates innovation.
3. Event Mesh for Real-Time Integration
The SAP Event Mesh service supports event-driven architecture by enabling loosely coupled services to communicate in real-time. In a multi-cloud scenario, this facilitates dynamic, asynchronous communication between systems, helping businesses react quickly to changes, like customer order updates or inventory shortages.
4. Pre-Built Integration Packs
SAP BTP comes with a growing library of pre-built integration content for common use cases. These integration packs accelerate time-to-value and reduce development overhead. For example, connecting SAP S/4HANA to Microsoft Teams or integrating SAP SuccessFactors with external payroll services becomes a plug-and-play operation.
5. Data Harmonization and Master Data Integration
One of the biggest challenges in multi-cloud environments is maintaining data consistency. SAP BTP’s data services, combined with the SAP Master Data Integration layer, help harmonize master data across systems. This ensures that every business unit is working from a single source of truth, enhancing decision-making and compliance.
Security and Compliance in Integration
Security is a critical concern in any integration scenario, especially when dealing with multiple cloud providers. SAP BTP solutions are built with enterprise-grade security, providing:
Role-based access control (RBAC)

Four tips to overcome four common challenges to implement SAP HANA
CIOs that embed analytics in their companies generate 35.7% more revenue (source: IBM) than industry peers. This significant value creation is possible because these leading companies can exploit the large volumes of data their employees require to make smarter, timely decisions.
Last year, SAP unveiled what many experts consider to be the industry's most advanced real-time, in-memory database for business applications. Not surprisingly, companies have jumped at the opportunity to exploit this new and exciting technology to gain a competitive advantage.
Since its launch, Many Companies involved in several SAP HANA projects, from design to post-implementation.
Following my conversations with CIOs, it is clear that companies have faced four main challenges to the successful deployment of SAP HANA. I have summarized these here so you can avoid costly problems in the future.
Develop a change management strategy for SAP HANA
This may not come as a surprise to you, but change management is the biggest problem. The SAP NetWeaver platform - on which the SAP Business Suite products are built - enforces technical change management that has to be configured and maintained before you can move developed changes into a live system.
However, with SAP HANA, none of this is enforced and it requires a set of best practices to be applied to the system, to avoid changes being made inadvertently. In most cases, I find this is not set up in the system. What's more, SAP Solution Manager can be configured to perform the change management process semi-automatically, but it is not usually configured to work this way.
In addition, I often find that the "extreme agile" approach that SAP and other SIs want to take requires changes to be made to inflexible change management processes. A middle ground of agile change management needs to be embedded within the organization.
Tip: Review the change management process to ensure these have been adopted for SAP HANA, including its technology components.
2. Know your skills gap with SAP HANA
SAP HANA introduces new IT assets - appliances, and software - into an organization. These require skills that are often in short supply, including: 1) installing, configuring, and maintaining these new IT assets; and, 2) developing new best practices to ensure maximum use of SAP HANA.
Technology platforms are often on different versions and configured differently. What's worse is I find that technology components within a stack have been installed incorrectly. Bad things happen in this case, especially as it relates to performance, stability, and integration of new technologies.
Tip: Ensure you have a process to keep the technology platform consistent and that you have a hardware and business continuity strategy for SAP HANA.
3. Drive performance by design
SAP HANA is an amazingly fast database platform - it can do many tasks thousands of times faster than other RDBMS. However, it is not a panacea and bad designs run slow on SAP HANA, just like on any other platform. What's more, there are things you need to know about SAP HANA's development that are significantly different from deploying a technology .
For example, I had one customer who was conducting performance tests of SAP HANA. In collaboration with the company, data load performance was improved by 50x by applying the best practices SAP BPT Solutions has developed by working with many organizations. It's important to design for performance, rather than assume that SAP HANA will get you out of trouble.
Tip: Put in place robot design guidelines and developer standards for SAP HANA, including how your SAP HANA specialists are continuously up-skilled and trained to address future changes.
4. Outpace the pace of change
One of the amazing things about SAP HANA is the pace of change. There are new elements of functionality coming in each major release. This is every six months. This pace of change poses challenges (and opportunities!) to some organizations because the latest version of SAP HANA may contain something you didn't know you could have.
This includes performance benefits, improved non-functional requirements e.g. point-in-time Backup or Fault Tolerance, functional capabilities like new certified 3rd party integration tools, developer features like debuggers, and whole new technology components like the integrated HANA XS web application server.
Tip: Implement a process to review all of your standards every six months, after a major SAP HANA release. This way, you will be able to plan to take advantage of all the newly released functionality.
Conclusion
SAP HANA has opened up new opportunities for companies to compete smarter using the latest advanced business applications and analytics required by employees to make better, timely decisions. Whether you're a CIO or an IT manager leading the ERP Migrations , you should be aware of the four most common challenges other organizations have faced when deploying one of the most exciting new enterprise technologies to come onto the market in the past few years.

Navigating the Future of GRC and Access Governance in SAP Ecosystems
A New Era of Security and Access Governance

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Access Governance are undergoing major changes due to digital growth and stricter regulations. As organizations connect more data and systems, they’re shifting from isolated security practices to proactive, integrated compliance processes. Raghu Boddu, founder of ToggleNow and a seasoned leader in SAP GRC, has observed these shifts closely.
“Fifteen years ago, most companies didn’t treat security as a separate function—it was part of Basis administration,” Raghu explains. “Today, security is essential, and organizations know it’s crucial for protecting data, compliance, and brand reputation.”
New Market Realities and Demand for Integrated GRC Solutions
SAP has long been at the forefront of GRC, offering tools to help both finance and IT teams tackle compliance challenges. Solutions like SAP Access Control and Identity Access Governance (IAG) provide the flexibility to manage today’s security needs while adapting to future ones. As businesses adopt hybrid and multi-cloud systems, managing security across different platforms has become more complex. This is where SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP) shines. BTP connects SAP and non-SAP applications seamlessly, creating a secure, compliant ecosystem. “BTP and SAP Identity Services have changed the game for multi-cloud environments,” says Raghu. “Today, integration is nearly seamless thanks to SAP’s open APIs and connectors. This has allowed companies to manage security across hybrid systems without needing extensive customization.”
Regional Insights: GRC Maturity and Market Growth
The GRC and Identity Access Management (IAM) markets vary widely across regions, shaped by local regulations and market maturity. In the U.S., SoX compliance has driven strict GRC standards for years. Many American companies have developed sophisticated GRC processes, particularly around data security and financial compliance. Meanwhile, regions like India are rapidly catching up.
“The growth potential in India is huge,” Raghu shares. “Over the last five years, Indian businesses have started treating GRC as essential, not optional.”
In both the U.S. and other markets, companies are increasingly adopting automation and hybrid identity solutions to handle complex regulations. This shift reflects a global move toward integrated compliance, with GRC becoming a core business priority rather than a “tick-the-box” function. As Raghu adds, “It’s inspiring to see GRC prioritized as part of strategy, not just an audit requirement.”
The Future of GRC: AI-Driven Compliance and Embedded Solutions
a) AI and Automation in GRC
Automation and AI are quickly transforming GRC from a reactive function into a proactive one, identifying risks before they become problems. With AI-driven GRC, systems can automatically analyze data to help companies detect potential compliance issues and manage risk more intelligently. SAP’s GRC tools with AI simplify compliance processes and improve decision-making, allowing teams to focus on strategic priorities.
Raghu highlights the potential of AI in GRC: “AI has incredible potential in the GRC space. It’s about giving businesses more power to manage risk with accuracy, while reducing manual efforts and errors.”
b) Embedding Compliance into Daily Processes
Looking forward, GRC will be embedded directly within applications and workflows, constantly monitoring for risks and responding to threats as they arise. Raghu envisions this future: “In the next five years, GRC as a standalone system may fade. Instead, it will be part of daily workflows, where applications flag risks and suggest controls in real time. AI will automate many compliance tasks, cutting down manual efforts.”
He adds, “Imagine GRC as a tool that proactively flags a potential access issue based on historical patterns—like a security recommendation engine. This proactive risk management approach is where AI will make the most impact.”
About Raghu Boddu and ToggleNow: Innovating in GRC and SAP Integration
Raghu Boddu, founder of ToggleNow, has over two decades of experience in SAP GRC and has witnessed the industry’s evolution firsthand. He started ToggleNow to address complex GRC challenges, helping companies make compliance efficient and accessible. With solutions that streamline risk management and improve security, ToggleNow has become a trusted partner for organizations operating in SAP environments.
Raghu is also a published author, with books such as SAP Access Control 12.0 Comprehensive Guide, SAP Process Control 12.0 Comprehensive Guide, and SAP Cloud IAG eBite. Integration bridges the gaps, enabling seamless data exchange and communication between diverse systems. This connectivity is what powers agility, decision-making, and digital innovation.
With digital transformation with SAP BTP, enterprises can modernize their architecture, automate business processes, and embrace cloud-native technologies—all while preserving the integrity of existing IT investments.
Top Advantages of Digital Transformation with SAP BTP Integration Suite
1. Unified Connectivity Across Cloud, On-Premise, and Hybrid Landscapes
One of the most powerful features of the Integration Suite is its ability to connect various systems across any deployment model. Whether you're integrating SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce, legacy ERP, or third-party APIs, SAP BTP provides the framework for consistent, secure, and scalable data exchange.
This seamless connectivity is the foundation of digital transformation with SAP BTP, enabling real-time insights and process orchestration across the enterprise.
2. Pre-Built Integration Content to Accelerate Deployment
SAP BTP Integration Suite comes with access to a vast library of over 2,500 pre-built integration flows. These are designed for common business scenarios, covering both SAP and non-SAP systems. As a result, enterprises can achieve faster time-to-value, reduce development complexity, and focus on strategic innovation.
By leveraging this content, digital transformation with SAP BTP becomes not only faster but also more cost-effective.
3. API Management for Agile Innovation
APIs are the lifeline of modern digital services. SAP BTP Integration Suite allows businesses to manage the full lifecycle of APIs—from design and publishing to security and analytics. This opens up new opportunities for innovation through third-party collaboration, customer apps, and partner ecosystems.
When building new services or digital touchpoints, digital transformation with SAP BTP ensures that APIs are scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade.
4. Support for Event-Driven Architecture
In dynamic business environments, the ability to respond to events in real-time is a competitive advantage. SAP BTP enables event-driven integration, which lets systems react instantly to triggers—like stock updates, customer orders, or equipment failures.
With real-time responsiveness baked into the architecture, digital transformation with SAP BTP enhances agility and improves the customer experience.
5. Low-Code and No-Code Tools for Democratized Innovation
Another key enabler of digital transformation with SAP BTP is its intuitive low-code/no-code interface. Business users can create and manage integrations or workflows without deep technical knowledge. This reduces IT dependency, accelerates innovation, and empowers domain experts to solve problems independently.
6. Advanced Monitoring and Governance
SAP BTP Integration Suite provides centralized monitoring, analytics, and alerting tools to ensure visibility and control over integrations. Enterprises can track performance, detect anomalies, and enforce compliance—all from a unified dashboard.
For organizations undergoing transformation, this level of transparency is essential for risk mitigation and performance optimization.

The Backbone of Enterprise IT: Understanding the Value of SAP Basis Support

In today’s digitally driven enterprises, seamless business operations rely heavily on stable, secure, and well-managed IT systems. Among the many foundational elements that support enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms like SAP, SAP Basis support plays a critical role in ensuring system reliability and performance. Acting as the bridge between the application layer and the operating system, SAP Basis is essentially the backbone of any SAP environment.
SAP Basis administrators are responsible for a wide range of tasks—from installation and configuration to monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Without effective Basis support, even the most advanced SAP solutions can experience downtime, security risks, and performance bottlenecks. That’s why businesses across various industries are investing in expert SAP Basis services to maintain operational continuity and safeguard enterprise data.
One of the most strategic areas where SAP Basis proves its importance is SAP BTP Role Management. The SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) enables organizations to integrate, extend, and innovate SAP applications with agility. However, to leverage its full potential, it’s essential to have precise control over user roles and access privileges. SAP Basis teams often take the lead in configuring these roles, ensuring that users have access only to the resources they need—nothing more, nothing less.
When role management is handled effectively within SAP BTP, enterprises benefit from enhanced security, reduced compliance risks, and improved operational efficiency. Mismanagement, on the other hand, can open the door to unauthorized access, data leaks, and potential system compromise. That’s why aligning SAP Basis support with BTP access control policies is no longer optional—it’s a strategic imperative.
Beyond just role configuration, SAP Basis professionals also support patch updates, system upgrades, data backups, and performance analysis. Their role is proactive rather than reactive, constantly fine-tuning the system to prevent issues before they arise. This not only boosts user productivity but also enhances the overall lifecycle management of SAP systems.
Enterprises seeking to modernize their SAP infrastructure—especially those migrating to SAP S/4HANA or adopting SAP BTP—should prioritize strong SAP Basis support. Whether you are running critical financial systems or customer-facing applications, ensuring optimal backend performance is non-negotiable.
To dive deeper into the role and importance of SAP Basis support in an enterprise, check out this detailed guide: 👉 SAP Basis Support Service: Role and Importance in an Enterprise
In summary, SAP Basis isn’t just a technical function—it’s a strategic business enabler. From maintaining system integrity to supporting advanced SAP BTP Role Management, a strong Basis foundation ensures that enterprise IT runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
