She wasn't naive, she knew that he probably still had nightmares but didn't want to worry her about it. But if she kept him calm enough to sleep through the night, then she'd take that. She leaned into his kiss and then poured him a cup of coffee as well. She sat down at the table and started eating her breakfast. ''So, any plans for today then?'' she asked him. @scvinglives

Bucky smiled, whilst she did keep them at bay, sometimes he wasn't completely honest with her. The nightmares were still there, but thankfully it wasn't waking up sweating and panicking from them. He would take what he could get. He smiled as she offered coffee and nodded, kissing her cheek softly before moving to sit at the table, putting on the radio for some background music.

She shook her head but smiled anyway. "I know." It was kinda sweet how he was trying. His heart was in the right place at the very least. There might be a little smidgen of hope for him yet. Maybe...?

"Depends." December sighed and closed her book. She could always come back to it later... unless he managed to burn down his kitchen. "Ya gonna let me help you this time? Because if not... It's cheaper to get the premade ones. Taste like dirt, though." She... might be a tad bit biased on that, though.

as bucky kissed her, she leaned into him, one of her hands cupping his cheek as she kissed him back. they could allow themselves this, moments where they could dream about living normal lives. it could happen. clint had his farm. maybe bucky and natasha could have a farm of their own. it wasn't something that was completely out of the picture for them. she moved so that she was now straddling his lap, both of her hands coming to rest on his shoulders as she's beaming down at him. ❝ don't worry, old man. i'll take care of you. ❞

it's a quiet promise, as she leans in to kiss him again. it's so soft. she enjoys these kisses more than anything. they're so... normal. it makes her feel like... well, like she imagines any normal woman in love feels. she moved her hand to cup his cheek again, brushing her fingers over his skin. he tanned quite well, whereas she was too pale for that. she always thought it looked so good on him. ❝ we could always get a farm. like clint. how much you know about farming? ❞ the thought of bucky wearing a farmer's hat and plaid clothing had her laughing.

she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned closer into him. that seemed like... a dream. ❝ i like the idea of you wearing a lot of plaid and ploughing fields. ❞ there's a teasing smirk on her lips.

"I'm never going to apologise for having too many dreams about you a bikini, there's no such thing." Bucky retorted with a smirk on his lips, Natasha allowed that charming and flirtatious side come out of him. The only one these days that could get it out of him. With everything they had been through in the past, she was the one person who understood it. The one person that maybe he could just let his guard down with.

He didn't want to get carried away with the thought of them jetting off away from here, away from the city, away from the noise, the missions. It was a far off dream he'd had many years ago, and it all felt too good to be true. Jetting off with Natasha without looking over their shoulders or being summoned in. He let out a small laugh, of course there was a quip in there about him being old. He felt a shiver run through him at her being so close, looking in to her eyes as she spoke. "I think I'm willing to take the risk, I'll make sure you don't burn. So long as you make sure my arm doesn't overheat." He smirked and leaned in to kiss her softly.

Natasha still slowly running her hand through his hair. She is glad that she is bring the best out in him and the side she knows best. The softer side in both of them she is growing more use to, enjoying it in fact. "You could if you wanted." She softly responds as she looks down towards him. "Now would I do that?" She muses. "And would you deny me the pleasure of you doing my hair?" She says, before leaning closer to him. "I love you Bucky!"

Bucky smiled, he used to be such a confident and charismatic man, able to charm any woman and flirt his way out of everything. And slowly Natasha was bringing that out of him, the cheeky smile he once had started to return. He knew they both strangely brought out a softer side of one another. "Maybe I could learn to braid yours instead." He smiled as he looked up into her eyes. "Though tell anyone that and of course I will deny it."

"I know. You used to be a teddy bear. Now you're a teddy bear who looks like a real bear." The woman teased to slightly lighten the mood. She could feel the darker and slightly heavier undertones creeping in. "That is true. Well, It was a different time. You had to do what you had, too. I would have done the same."

The witch rolls her shoulders and looks out. The snow looked so pretty, and she could see a few kids playing nearby. "Hey, Buck? Do you remember how to ice skate? There is a rink downtown that's open to the public and has cheap entry~"

Natasha smiled and did as he asked closing her eyes and waiting for him to tell her to open them, when she did open her eyes again her smile only grew.

"You did all this for me?" She picked up the flowers and sniffed them, her smile grew bigger and she leaned over to kiss him.

"Thank you, James."

He'd told her that he remembered every second of their time together, but she hadn't thought for one moment that he remembered such small details like when her birthday was.

"... God, I love you." Stealing a quick kiss, Nat smiled.

"Yeah, I want my birthday surprise."

She paused. The smile disappeared from her face.

"Walker did this?"

Her first instinct was to get up and put on a jacket and go look for the jackass but knowing she wouldn't make it past the couch she stayed seated. She tried to keep her cool but inside she was seething. Probably not good for her blood pressure or the baby. Fucking Walker. "We do," she said shortly, going back to replacing the bandages. "Please tell me he looks worse."

Bucky wasn't very good at letting people help, Sharon was pretty much the only person he would let do this. Even if Sam had attempted, much to Bucky's annoyance and pulling away from him. He looked in to her eyes and knew he had to just let her do her thing then he could go to fussing over her as though nothing had happened.

"Just a bit of a disagreement with Walker." He confessed, knowing that this was all a long time coming. "It could have ended a lot worse, this is nothing. Although we both know I'm going to hurt tomorrow. We better have some of those strong painkillers left."

it was strange, hearing nat say that they were family. not because wanda didn't feel the same way, but because she felt so completely alone. it didn't feel that she had a family, in any sense. steve was gone, tony was gone, and clint was making up for the time he had lost with his family. where did she fit in, in all of that? even before thanos, she didn't exactly have a place. she didn't say anything, and was all too glad to talk about something else. when natasha talked about her sister, she smiled, her face lighting up. she could tell how much nat cared about her, just in the way she talked about her. siblings were something special. ❝ i've always wanted a sister, ❞ there's a soft laugh that leaves her lips. ❝ even though he was my twin, pietro was still a boy, so you know. it wasn't the same. ❞ there was a moment of silence, then she added: ❝ you're lucky to have each other. specially after thanos. it's a beautiful thing. ❞

natasha knew what grief did to a person, how much it could consume you. the mix of emotions, the rage, the upset, the pain. she wished she had come sooner to see wanda, but life had taken over. now she had the time and she wasn't going to let her friend feel alone in all of this. "i know, and i don't take it as a responsibility. i'm here because I know if things were the other way, you'd be there for me too. we're family, a strange one, but that's what you do for your family." she said, the five years without everyone made natasha realise how much this avengers family did mean to her. and that she needed to make sure yelena was okay. "i did." natasha said with a small smile, part of her felt guilty for being able to have her family. even if they weren't family by blood, yelena was always her sister. "she's out there finding widows and saving them. doesn't want me there all the time, so she'll check in when she can. told her I had things to do."

"Well, what can i say Bucky. Please just don't piss her off and then you get annoyed and start swearing in Russian." She has to admit it would be amusing to see but she is not going to let him know that. She listens intently as she drives. Having seen him with his notebook the last few weeks she lets him talk about it. "Why make amends... And what sort of amend?" She glances over at him sort of confused by it. "I am going to agree with you on that."

"I don't think I would mind annoying her, everything I do seems to annoy her." Bucky muttered as he got in to the passenger seat. He had to do this, he knew that. As much as he hated, maybe one day it would help. "Last time, she uh -- she told me to write a list." He explained, Natasha had seen him writing in his little notebook all week long but he hadn't fully explained what it was. "About making amends and -- I don't know, it all sounds kind of stupid to be honest."
