How does alligator!reader handle shedding???? Does she hide until the process is done? I need answers 😭😭😭😭

Fun fact! Alligators dont shed their whole bodies like snakes and some lizards do, instead they are in a perpetual state of shedding (think of how turtles shed their scutes)

So, gator!readers scales are constantly shedding as they grow. Its a pretty big source of embarrassment as you grow, shedding constantly as a kid. So you pick at your scales, one part grooming habit and one part hoping to peel the scales off before others notice.

This, coupled with the fact you avoid swimming ir really enjoying the water, means ur scales are really rough and damaged. The guys dont know how to help you, cringing in phantom pain when they see the severity of the damage ur picking has caused. You dont even like to take showers for too long, how could they convince you to ever deliberately look after ur scales??

The best they can do is politely ignore when you suddenly have a new band-aid or square of gauze tapes to ur arms or legs. When they can, they try to distract you. Soap usually hands you one of whatever hes carrying and tells you to hold it, mentally smiling when ur hands start to fidget with whatever item is was. Gaz prefers to be a bit more subtle, engaging you in conversation until ur rambling with a smile, gesturing as you try to get your point across. Price uses it as a good excuse to get more food into you, his instincts always rumbling abt keeping you fed. Oftentimes hands you a fruit bar and tells you to eat it, you cant really argue bc hes technically in charge of ur recovery lol. Ghost is the most direct. He doesnt mean to be an ass or anything, hes just very blunt. Whenever he sees you picking at ur scales he gently slaps ur hands away and tells you not to do that, before continuing with the conversation casually.

I keep thinking about Rupert and Carol interacting for some reason. I think Carol would be super amused by his attitude but also appreciate how loyal and dedicated he is to his cause. SO. Personal headcanon and conspiracy time, Webby is the patron of the Hatchetmen.  She taught them how to tend to the Witchwood, how to grow new trees with the souls of the gifted to strengthen it.  

It’s one of the reasons trees/roots are supposed to be a major motif for her in my designs, alongside the spider/webs/crab elements.

this has been the month of getting literally electrocuted by professionals, bc I got a nerve conduction test for carpal tunnel and also got electrolysis hair removal on my face. And on the downside, the nerve conduction test came back normal so they can't actively do anything for me about that, but on the up-side, that one hair that I keep picking at until I am ripping off my facial skin, the hair that is my ultimate nemesis, is GONE. AND. DEAD.
