I think that Father Of All… would’ve probably been considered a really good album if it was anyone BUT Green Day’s album. Seemed kinda foreshadowed by Green Day’s own legacy, it was a catchy album. Were this a new band we’d have been talking about how cool the dance punk vibe was. Or maybe we weren’t yet that into ‘new rock’. A lot of that seemed to happen through and after the pandemic.

hiii!!! a "yorse" covers a couple different things, but generally it means yang + horse, and is regarded as cursed. Here's an example! (source)

When referring to yorse (just yorse, like a person's name) this probably means the concept itself, or whatever your personal interpretation of yorse is.

Yorse can also appear as a Centaur (ex.), or, more rarely, a yellowey horse. (ex.) These two options often present as less-cursed interpretations, likely from those who enjoy playing around with the concept itself.

I can go more into Yorse History if you'd like! It's a story of inspiration, betrayal, AND . yellow horsies :3

Book Reviews: Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore

Let me preface this by saying that although I was raised in a (loosely) Catholic household, I am not religious in the slightest. I am agnostic, and so this was not a book I picked up to either affirm or challenge my religious beliefs. It'd be rather hard to do that, given that I don't have any.

Instead, this book was recommended to me by a friend, who described it as hilarious. In truth, it was. But it wasn't just hilarious; Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal was equal parts hilarious, heartwarming, and heartbreaking. Even though the ending is a foregone conclusion (even those of us who aren't religious know what happens to Jesus -- or, as he's known in this book, Joshua), it's Biff's reaction to those turn of events that sells it.

The premise of the book is simple: Back when Jesus / Joshua was growing up, he had a best friend most people knew as Biff. Biff was edited out of the Bible because of actions he took immediately following Joshua's death, but, at Joshua's request, he's resurrected from the dead and told to write a gospel of his own. The book jumps back and forth between the present day (where Biff both learns of the Bible as we know it and is roommates with an angel who loves soap operas and pro-wrestling) and the gospel that Biff is writing down. As the story continues the chapters spend more and more time in the past than they do the present, but all is told through Biff's narration, which is striking, hilarious, heartwarming, and heartbreaking depending on the moment.

While Moore clearly takes liberties with certain details (such as Biff having an idea of what gravity is before it's invented, or Biff himself inventing sarcasm), it's clear how much research was put into the book in order to make the past sections period accurate and also shed some insight on some very important questions (such as, what if Jesus knew kung-fu?). Although this book is a comedy, it doesn't take potshots at religion or turn the entire thing into a joke. Rather, it's treated with gentle gravitas that truly makes you feel for Joshua, even if you're not a person who believes in Jesus yourself. All in all, I would highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially those looking for a bit of laughter to brighten their day.
