You recommended a Bluetooth sleep wrap a bit ago. I lost my tab with the link. Can you mention them again?

daily notes - may 15, 2025
It's above 70F degrees today, though it's not bad with the breeze. But for sleeping during the daytime, it makes me want to pout and whine. "Why didn't you sleep during the night, then?" Well, I was busy listening to Sleep Token, if you must ask. Hashtag self-care.
Last night, I opened a cold Thai noodle bowl that my dad got from the local grocery store. There were 2 little containers of add-ins, and the peanuts were coated with a VERY spicy something. Very sharp and stinging, with a vinegar angle. Figured I'd be okay if I left that out. When I dug around in the noodles today, there were spicy crumbs. I got through some of it, especially with salad dressing taming the worst of it. But no, twas not meant to be. Had store-bought sushi instead, which helped calm the spice, thankfully.
I had 2 sleep sessions, no more than 3 hours total, today. I wanted to do some online shopping, but my brain can't stick with things well, even though I'm awake. Jittery enough to be alert, but not clear-headed enough to accomplish things.
Maybe I'll be able to relax if I listen to music with headphones. Can't really sleep with them on, due to the bulk. (My old SleepPhones are broken, and they often felt too warm, anyway. Still tempted to replace them, sometimes.)
I do feel like my mood will shift again in the next week or so. It's not just hope; I trust that my mood cycle will run its course and improve. The depression is still somewhat intangible - out of reach from words, though I know where its roots are anchored.
Ok, now I'm feeling strange enough that setting my left hand on my right arm feels like it's someone else's hand, due to the temperature difference? My arm is cool, but my hand is warm. That's weird, but oddly reassuring. The person I'm picturing to reassure me also has warm hands. Mine are usually cold, hence why this is so odd.
Body sensation stuff is still strange for me. I never experienced stuff this intense when I was younger. Again, as I keep saying, I was dissociated from my body for so long. Gotta remind myself that experiencing all this is worth it. Not only am I regaining what I lost, but exposure to these sensations will help me learn to "ignore" them later. That's what a lot of sensory stuff is, with autism - trying to manage what can't stay as "background noise".

Tips for Adjusting to Daylight Savings Time for Children with Autism

“Spring forward, fall back” is common in 71 countries, including the US. Once in the fall and once in the spring, Americans adjust their clocks forward or backward, depending on the season, but it comes with the drawback of adapting to a new sleep schedule, especially for children with autism. The following are a few tips for helping autistic children transition between the time changes.
The time change occurs at 2 am on a Sunday in the fall and spring. While only an hour at a time, many adults experience symptoms similar to jet lag that come with darker mornings and brighter evenings. The shifts disrupt the body’s sleep cycle, or circadian rhythm, when daylight savings causes a gap in their internal clocks, which the sun and social clocks also influence. In addition to these minor issues, serious health issues, such as strokes, have been related to the disruptive nature of daylight savings.
The shift in schedule becomes disruptive for children with autism who require a routine. Children can become depressed and sleep-deprived. Moreover, the child might not be able to express their feelings, making it difficult to get to the root of the depression. This inability to communicate, in turn, can cause the child to lash out.
One way to help children with autism transition is to prepare them for daylight savings time so it is less disruptive. Parents can start by explaining daylight savings and why it is important. They can explain what happens through a social story, which can narrate how the sky might appear during the change. Connect with the child’s care team (teachers and counselors) for tips on helping the child through daylight savings.
Parents can transition children into daylight savings by using a few simple strategies, namely adjusting the clock early. One strategy is incrementally changing one’s bedtime and waking time by 15 minutes, leading to daylight savings. So, a child who usually goes to bed at 9 pm should slowly go to bed 15 minutes early until they end up going to bed at 8 pm. By daylight savings, the child would have already adjusted to the change in time.
Other strategies include getting some exercise and reducing screen time. In general, exercise does wonders for helping the body rest. The child receives exposure to natural light, which impacts sleep cycles. In addition to exercise, experts suggest turning off any technology, including television, phone, and tablet, because it stimulates brain activity, making it difficult for the child to fall asleep.
Then, invest in relaxation aids for the child, such as a weighted blanket, which wraps the child in a hug. A March 2024 New York Times article recommended the Bearaby Cotton Napper weighted blanket. Further, sleep headphones can also act as relaxing tools because they silence noises that make it difficult to fall asleep, such as AcousticSheep SleepPhones Wireless. Finally, other suggestions are to warm the child’s feet, signaling the brain that it is time to sleep, or invest in curtains, such as blacking out curtains, to reduce the amount of light entering the room.
Finally, temperature can also make it difficult for a person to fall asleep. Experts suggest keeping the room between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit for sleep. Adjusting temperatures earlier through a smart thermostat may trick the body into falling asleep.

So usually when I go to sleep it either takes forever for me to fall asleep, or just feels like forever because adhd. But anyway, recently I’ve noticed playing music gives me enough distraction to stop concentrating being sleep, and I fall asleep much quicker. The only problem with this is I know I shouldn’t have headphones in when I’m asleep, but I also just can’t have it playing out loud cos I share a room, so any suggestions of how to do it I’m open to ideas.
About a year ago, I had the exact same problem. I ended up buying something called “sleepphones” which basically looks like an sleep mask which goes all the way around your head, and has thin, flat speakers in the sides. They’re meant for sleeping in, and are super comfortable.
I bought some on eBay for about £2 (they were cheap because I bought them from a seller in China and had to wait over a month for postage) and mine still plugged into my phone, but I just had a look online and they now sell Bluetooth ones.
Here’s a link to some I just found - £10 and Bluetooth on Wish. (These aren’t the ones I bought, so I have no idea how good these ones are, but this is the sort of thing I mean.)
#i hope this helps!!#this is what i did and it worked great#i wish i advice that didn't involve spending money though lol#adhd#sleeping#how to get to sleep#adhd tips#sleepphones#ifthisishalloweenwhatischristmas

Cleaned my room, put up my new blackout curtains, made my bed, have a bath tray, silk pillow sheets, eye mask, canopy bed, stuffed animals, oil diffuser. Im about to be as snug as a bug in a rug tonight. Since i was 15, my goal has been to just sleep rlly good. I am literally princess syalis irl. My next sleep related purchase will probably be sleepphones (headphones for sleep) and then ill use a combination of melatonin and hypnosis to get rid of my reoccurring nightmares about being several hours late for class and my teeth falling out. Then ill be so cozy that ill be going honk mimimimimi

1, 33, & 39 for the 50 questions thingy. Please & Thank You.
1. What are three shows in your watchlist that you’ve been meaning to get to?
- All Creatures Great and Small (but I’m missing so many episodes on my DVR that I just keep waiting to see if PBS airs them again)
- Star Trek Prodigy (I watched the first few episodes during my free trial of Paramount last summer before getting sucked back into watching Voyager again instead, and now that I have Paramount again through my phone plan I keep getting distracted by other things)
- Abbott Elementary - it’s on my DVR but I just haven’t started it
33. Headphones or earbuds?
My favorite pair is a set of SleepPhones, which are flat speakers in a soft headband that I can wear to sleep when I have to share a room or am somewhere noisy (like in a rack on a ship) but are also comfortable for long periods of wear like on planes. I mostly don’t wear headphones if I can avoid them, which I can do more easily because I live by myself.
39. What was the best part of your day today?
I spent today volunteering at Lego shipbuilding event at the local Navy museum, and it was so much fun (because I love Legos and ships). I mostly didn’t build things because my job was to help people build or find pieces or just answer questions, but I did at the last minute build an aircraft carrier and it was fun! Also all the ship kits near me were ships I could tell people about the history of and I like nerding out about that!

#uhhh#so I think this is actually the first time I’ve actually posted an ask game set of questions#and therefore this is the first time I’ve answered one#because I had to figure out the logistics of it#and how to actually type out my answer and stuff

on a more positive tinnitus related note some resources in case they’re of help to anyone:
MyNoise.net: every kind of white noise u could possibly want. scroll down & they have some recommended generators for tinnitus. they also have recommendations for ADHD & anxiety. i like the grey noise generator a lot.
SleepPhones: headphones for sleeping in. They are made of fleece & you wear them like a headband. They are p pricy unfortunately (currently £32.99 for wired & £67.85 for bluetooth) but i can confirm they work as advertised & Changed My Life when I first got them.
Avantek white noise machine: this isn’t actually the one I have, it looks like mine has maybe been discontinued? but it’s the same brand so I assume it’s similar. the sound quality on mine is rly nice, it doesn’t take up a lot of space, & it has fan/air conditioner noises which i find good for when you want some unobtrusive to play in the background.
