Inspired to draw that scene from Team StarKid's Cinderella's Castle. (+a surprise Sir Hop-A-Lot and Crumb under the cut.)

The lighting on that set then (bright green with deep blue on the side) was so good that I had a strong impulse to just try and capture how I was envisioning the scene playing out in an illustrated fairytale-esque forest-scape-y thingy.

I really want to draw a Cinderella moment next - so hard to pick a specific scene!! I'll be thinking about it as I catch up on work rn. Hopefully I can get to it some time tonight. I did do a quick sketch of Rancilda that I'll post soon though!

People are saying the moral of squid game was that evil rich people always win and there's no point in fighting back against capitalism, but I don't think that was what the creator was getting at.

In-ho spent all of s2&3 trying to prove to Gi-hun and himself that Gi-hun was just like him. That people are all violent, cruel and selfish at their core. That trash deserve to die. That anyone would make the same choice he did.

But Gi-hun proved him wrong. There *are* good people. Not everyone would have made the same choice In-ho did. Gi-hun chose not to ruthlessly murder helpless people to save himself. He chose to sacrifice himself for his friend's innocent baby. He chose compassion, humanity, and selflessness at the cost of his own life.

You can always choose to be good. You can always choose to help others. Even if you can't save the world and the bad guys still win in the end, you can always choose light. 'You can win but you can't break me'. That was the point. That was the message.

#squid game #the games in america thing was more so the show could end on a shocking twist than making the moral be about rich people winning #and even though they continue in the usa gihun & his team actually did accomplish what they set out to do by stopping the korean games #they had no way of knowing it would continue on a different continent #i dont know i just think people misunderstand the genre of this show #it's a korean thriller they never ever have storybook endings where all the bad guys lose and all the good guys win happily ever after #these stories are meant to disturb you and break your heart that's the purpose of the genre #you want perfect happy endings in a neat little bow go watch American superhero movies #im still sad about all my shaylas though #squid game spoilers
