Please help a nonbinary parent with 2 trans kids keep their family fed this June, I need my meds to keep living as many years as possible. I need $130 today or I'll miss my meds. And we need $35 to get to this week's appointment or we won't be able to file for an insulin refill.

I know it’s hard for everyone but please, keep sharing, anything ANYTHING helps. We’ve been getting a bit of food and paying little by little what we owe at the corner store but the upcoming card payment is $190 and my meds are $130 and then let’s not forget my healthcare renewal. I also bring bad news, we’re starting with water shortages just like last year, we’ve gone from having 4 days of water a week to 1-2 if we’re lucky. Our only toilet is busted and there are 9 people here who use it. My kid still needs attention for a UTI he’s had for a couple of months now. And my partner has 3 ingrown nails and 2 big cuts on his feet he’s kept unattended for weeks. I’d hate to up the goal but we need every help we can get!!

Went back on my blog to find proof of the fire where my in-laws lost everything, this other one with pictures and proof that I’ve been sick and struggling to get my medication since August 2023. Just felt like having things organized and maybe make another blog to keep all proof I can save since we lost a lot of information and pictures/videos when we sold our phones and lost the computer. Not to mention my blog is way older but I have no idea how to enter my archive :3

Happy Friday y’all

After last night’s storm, this is what I got. I have a few small branches and some leaves ripped off but there were no tornadoes around this area. 👍 Pretty good deal, I say.

Last night though, wow what a storm. There were super high winds and there was much lightning right overhead. You can’t sleep through something like that, you just have to wait until it’s over. I will be getting my steps in today by walking all around the yard picking up all the debris. A few people lost power in this area, but not too many.

Storm Éowyn caused a number of trees to fall at Edinburgh Botanic Garden including this Pyrus balansae (pear). This species is native to Turkey; specifically, the eastern regions of the country, in the areas around the Taurus Mountains. This botanical garden has to decide how to deal with the fallen timber and the new spaces which have been created.

St. Louis with a large Tornado this afternoon on the ground. Picture from the Gateway Arch. Lots of damage reports coming in. Touched down near Forest Park, at least 5 dead in the city.

If only there was some emergency management agency at a federal level that could help coordinate disaster response in multiple states at the same time.

Thankfully DOGE axed a lot of FEMA's staff and the current head of FEMA is a blithering moron who thinks FEMA should be disbanded.

My dad built his garage around 20 years ago and it’s been like a home to him ever since. He spends more time in it than he ever did in his own house. It truly was a special place to him, and we’re all devastated that it’s gone. It was smashed by a tree in a recent storm.

My dad has always taken care of everyone around him, and I want to do something to help him now. Funds will go to rebuilding and replacing damaged and destroyed belongings, and helping him get by during these tough times.

My backyard-

This picture above ☝️ shows how my tree looked 12 years ago after it got hit by lightning. A big chunk is missing at the top right side.

About 20 years before that, the tree just to the right also got hit by lightning. You can see just a bit in the right side of pic. That time it blew out a piece of the trunk as wide as your hand. There were splinters everywhere. Below is today.

As you can see, most of the damage has grown back in. You wouldn’t believe how loud it is when lightning strikes right in your yard. ⚡️

On Friday 24 January 2025, the 90 mph wind gusts from Storm Éowyn caused widespread damage in Edinburgh Botanic Garden, Scotland. This included the toppling of some large trees including this specimen of Betula × caerulea (blue birch). This deciduous tree has a native range of Central & Eastern Canada to North Eastern U.S.A. It is a naturally occurring hybrid between Betula cordifolia × Betula populifolia. This fallen tree was surrounded by clumps of Galanthus nivalis (snowdrop) which are a sign of spring.
