Yay I get to talk about Chiname!!! I just woke up so I’m sorry if I get lazy with anything. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy a good bit of Rusame Cold War era shipping (the art and fics are great) but that’s literally it. It’s only the cold war and the whole Rivalry comes to a complete halt and the two are back to being on amicable terms again(canon that they are able to have decent conversation with each other), like they have for most of Russo-American history

And yeah China-American relations have been more ‘eh, yeah that guy exists’ for most of their history, it’s more about the way they directly oppose each other in so many ways. And yet the two are so intertwined it would be a complete disaster for both of them if one of them starts falling. China is practically ancient and has somehow made it through centuries of internal conflict barely having a good foothold on the world stage until recently, and then there’s the US, not even 300 years old as a country and early on made it onto the world stage and just. kept. climbing.

Once China is on bad terms with someone, they have a war about it, and it pretty much stays that way forever, meanwhile the US, they get on bad terms with a country, have a war about it, and then a couple years later they go ‘heh yeah that was a weird time for us wasn’t it? Wanna be friends again? :)’ and then it works.

I also just think this ship is hilarious and is painfully underrated. Curse you anime characterization of China!!! (Rusame, buddy, I love ya, I really do. But every time I look for Chiname fics that also don’t have you there too, I get down to like 10 fics and it’s painful)
