ALRIGHT.
Have some father daughter moments with Junto and my OC Tsumi.
Junto Takami Harima is a character from @sleepwalkersqueen‘s fanfic „Fear of You“ on Ao3.
Also… please don’t slander my English it’s been too long since I wrote something and @takami-flock did already too much when she proof-read. (love you <3)
Chocolate and life lessons
„Tsumi. Come here.“ ordered a voice Tsumi had known since she could first hear. It made her ears nearly immediately perk up. Her eyes turned away from her skeleton drawing to the source.
Her father was sitting in front of his desk in the same position that she had always seen. Paper stacks as high as ever.
She blinked before quickly getting up to walk up to him. Her head barely peeked over the shiny wood as her eyes noticed something sparkling on top of it.
A second later father pushed a small present towards her making her wings do little flaps. She had to get on her tippy toes to reach the little box. Her eyes were wide with wonder.
Tilting her head made it sparkle which brought a smile to her face when she turned back to her father.
„Thank you, daddy.“
„It is not mine.“ He revealed which made her halt. „Okane sent this to you. Make sure to bow and thank him the next time you see him.“ He explained absently while his eyes whipped over the various papers.
She frowned at him before glancing back at her present.
Okane.
„He was…“ she started while puffing her cheeks trying to remember the face to the name but couldn’t get a real visual in her head.
There were so many new faces on this boat.
Her ears caught her father‘s small sign which made her wings hug her shoulders a bit. „The highrank that was with us when we first tested your quirk.“ he told her as his cloudy eyes finally fell on her.
Widening her eyes she gulped before nodding. Her breath suddenly stuck in her throat while she gripped tighter onto her present.
Now knows who father was talking about. The man with the six dots on his neck. Still remembers his smile that had split his face in half. Oh, and those eyes that bored through her like she had been nothing. However even if he had been scary, his staff with a snake curling around it had looked cool. She would have loved to touch it.
Quietly avoided her father’s gaze when more fuzzy memories of the day came back to her mind though.
Father‘s warm hand pressing her on his shoulder. This metallic scent. The loud screams.
Quickly, rubs over her eyes and tries to push those thoughts back before noticing the small rips from her talons in the gift.
Without another thought, she ripped it open. Her eyes widened at the most decorated chocolates she had ever seen as her feathers trembled at their sight.
Their nice decorations nearly made her not want to eat them. Her mouth watered at the smell. Only nearly.
„Show me.“ Immediately she looked up to her father‘s voice and followed his request a second later. Wings flapped wildly as she climbed onto his lap before he picked her up to sit her down. One of his hands stayed on her back.
„They look so pretty.“ There was warmth all over her as she proudly showed her father the box. Her eyes wide with awe in her next sentence. „The ones at home never looked as pretty as these.“
„Well, they are indeed more special. A highrank gifting you something is very kind of them and doesn’t happen too often. You say, ‘I'm very grateful for your generous gift, Sir.‘ to him, understood? Exactly these words.“ He insisted.
She listened to him carefully before nodding.
„I'm very grateful for your g-gen… gener-“
„Generous.“
„Generous gift, Sir.“ she repeated carefully glancing up at her father for his approval.
However, his gaze was already back on those papers. The only answer she got was father’s soft hum as he absently went through her wings to brush away the dust.
The corners of her mouth pushed up as she turned her focus back to her present. Finding herself in a bit of a struggle to open the box which ended with one chocolate flying onto the papers as she ripped it open.
„Tsumi..!“
Her whole body froze from the harsh tone behind her before she made herself smaller. Her head hid between her shoulders.
„Sorry.“ She mumbled quietly.
The silence grew between them weighing her down as she could sense how father had stopped behind her.
After a moment she felt him snapping out of his state. In a quick motion he laid his pen away to grab the chocolate and hold it towards her.
Hesitantly took the sweet from his hand while she could still feel her wings staying tense behind her. Her ears caught her father’s soft sign as he picked the pen back up. His other hand moved through her feathers again trying to relax them with only some success.
Her father started to explain. „There are different flavors. Strawberry. Vanilla.“ She watched him point at them with his pen before writing another signature, slowly but steadily making her body relax again. „The one in your hand should be coffee…“ he told her.
„Ew.“ She scrunched her nose at it. Without a second thought she turned towards father and shoved it into his mouth. „You eat it, daddy.“
Father leaned away from it while baring his fangs at her and growling softly to make her pull away again.
„It’s not my gift.“ He spoke decisively.
She tilted her head before asking, „But what do I do with it?“
„You have to eat it. It wouldn’t be nice to not eat it.“
„But it's yucky…“ She pouted.
„Everything somebody gives to you is good. Especially if it's from a higher rank.“
She kicked her feet a little. „I don’t wanna…“
„Tsumi.“
A deep frown formed on her face from it. This tone again. Was she irritating him?
She never liked hearing him like that. Always remembered running after too fast footsteps and closing doors when father sounded like that. Quickly, blinked when she felt pressure form in her eyes.
With a frown, she glanced back at the chocolate while still feeling her father‘s warm hand on her wing. She took the coffee-flavored one in her mouth and grumbled because of the taste that was anything close to delicious. Still, gulped it down a second later.
„So it’s good?“, her father asked expectantly.
Her tongue was licking over her fangs trying to get rid of the taste and she really wanted to shake her head but instead, she nodded. „Yes.“
„That's my girl.“ Father praised her warmly which made her wings fluff up as she could hear fathers smile in his words.
After a second she noticed him laying his pen down again to give her another chocolate. Immediately opened her mouth for her father to feed her.
Humming satisfied she chewed on a strawberry flavor that made the coffee taste nearly completely vanish from her mouth. Father‘s hand rubbed circles over her back and she just instinctively cuddled closer into his warmth. His smell was so known to her that it relaxed her body in mere seconds.
Not a second later she felt him hold her closer which made her chirp happily.
„That's how life works, Tsumi. You have to force yourself through something bad to have the good things in it. Nothing just goes your way because of sheer luck. You have to work for it. You remember that, okay?“, he revealed to her.
Without thinking too much about it she just immediately agreed to him because her father had always been right.
„Okay, daddy.“
The next moment she pressed her face in his chest. Her whole world was dark and full of father‘s scent as she kept her talons out of his suit.
She would‘ve eaten hundreds of disgusting chocolates if it meant him staying with her.
Because everything would be fine with him near. She just knew it.

I saw the silly Hawks and Dabi frog meme thingys, and I couldn't resist. I had to make a Shinyo one.

He's a frog now.
(I have, clearly, rubbed out around some of swq's art for his...limbs? Did it in the same way these lads were made) ⬇️

2023 Lexember 21-22
Tumblr media
Above, left: swq, right: hyat
Two speaking verbs today. The glypyh for swûq [swɯʔ] ‘deny, reject’ contains the semantic radical yuk ‘speak’ on the left side, depicting a mouth with a tongue in it. The phonetic radical on the right side shows a dog with its head marked - sûq ‘animal head’ - which rhymes with swûq.
We’ve had several dog-glyph based words this year. These are the others.
Hyat [hjat˺] ‘reply, respond’ also has yuk on the left side. The phonetic radical on the right side, yat ‘people’ shows four small glyphs for ‘person.’ And if 4 people are talking, some of them are responding anyway, aren’t they?

Shinyo 'scars full body pls
Tumblr media
Sorry to keep you waiting! 🫶🏻
In SleepwalkersQueen’s art he has fewer scars then in the Fear Of You story, for example there he is mentioned to also have burns on stomach from Endeavour hunting him back when he was young. He also has scars on his back from when his wings were cuffed and a scar on his calf (sorry didn’t end up showing that on here).
In SWQ’s Art on the other hand he only has one on his cheek, on his upper arm and wrists. Aside from the fantasy AU where he has more scars shown :)

Could be reading too much into things but with the significance placed on Wanda and Pietro As Twins and the Griever/QotN being siblings, it really strikes me as interesting that Pietro’s back to wearing green (and white) in a very similar shade to the queen, while Wanda is wearing red/black/gold like the griever. The costume switch for Pietro came with SWQS, right? So at the start of the arc?
You're... probably reading too much into things. I'll admit, it's a neat bit of visual symmetry, but I'm not sure what the intention would be. The stated purposes and alignments of these characters don't match up in a way that would make sense. The Griever and the Queen are being depicted here as a set of opposites, while Wanda and Pietro are being established more and more as a complimentary pair, and based just on this preview, it seems like the twins are both aligned with Queen and have a tangible connection to her, but not the Griever. If the color palettes are meant to draw parallels, then those parallels feel imbalanced, to me.
I do have to say, though, that this is making me want to see Pietro with a white, inverted galaxy effect on his costume like the Never Queen's. If he and Wanda are really in this together, I want him to get a visual upgrade, too.

I once drew my OC Shunko in SWQ’s style and always wanted to do the same with Junto and her kiddos
So here ✨
Tumblr media
The boy is Hayato by my dear friend @takami-flock and the little girl Tsumi is mine *^*
I think I did better than last time.
I also put them in the height chart because it’s fun to see how small they are.
(Also had to cut the chart because it’s getting too long xD)
Tumblr media
!!This drawing isn’t mine (except the siblings and Shunko‘s drawing)!!
Shunko can literally trip over them 🫢
As always check out @sleepwalkersqueen who wrote „Fear of You“ on Ao3✨

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗 (alsoplusalso, looking forward to making you a little something next week <3)
Kat! 💕
When I get a question about my favorite things my mind always goes blank and I feel like I've never heard a song/watched a movie/known a single thing in my life, let alone written a fic ksksksk but let's see... My favorite five fics I've written (in no particular order):
The Rest Is History (Spartacus - Nagron)
The Sea Is Where His Heart Is (The Witcher - Geraskier)
Crushed At Work (The Old Guard - Kaysanova)
A Warning Of Monsters (The Old Guard - Gen)
Take My Hand, Dance With Me (Star Wars - Kylux)
I chose these for what they meant to me when I wrote them, not precisely because I think they're the best written ones.
(can't wait!!!! it's officially August, so happy fandomversary ♡)

The previews for SW and BH are both out (one was on gamesradar.com and one was on comicbook.com). Pleased to see Wanda is a featured character again in BH3 even if her significance doesn’t necessarily extend beyond the one page we see in the preview. Also glad Orlando is seeming dropping the “you are the scarlet witch…” narration framing. Mostly I just like her coloring in these bc while I liked SWQS, the twins seemed a little more orange than brown
I also think they brought back a character (mantor the magician?) from a single issue of the human torch series in the 40s. These cuts are getting even deeper…
Scarlet Witch is still being colored by Frank William, who is the same artist that’s been coloring Tametta's work throughout Scarlet Witch (2023) and SW&Q. His colors do look better here, but there is still a flatness and an over-reliance on highly saturated local color that really bothers me. I feel like Camagni does a great job living up to the fluidity and elegance of Pichelli's work in the first half of SW, but I think the work needs more of a lush, textured coloring style if it wants to live up to the beauty and specific, characterizing tone of those early issues.
The second-person narration has definitely run its course for me. It doesn't look like Orlando is dropping it completely, so much as subverting what is by now an familiar formula by setting it up and then turning it on its head. I do appreciate what he was doing, in terms of making the book feel as unique as possible but it stopped feeling like it really served a purpose after SW #3-- which is, to date, the most well-crafted issue in the entire run. Dropping that kind of a gimmick in the middle of a book would be weird, but I do kind of wish he'd let it go by now.
Anyway, Mantor was actually mentioned in #9 of Scarlet Witch (2023). Darcy got in touch with him while she was researching the low mysterium, and Mantor was the one who confirmed that substance was somehow "artificial." Apparently he's an occult appraiser now. I'm definitely surprised to see him on page, but, yeah, this is a character that was tenchically introduced already.
