Alex, Tom and Sabina as a cowboy trio! I love them so much and I had a blast creating their outfits

Here's more about the Cowboys AU:

Sabina, Tom & Alex are a trio of outlaws traveling together. One day Alex gets kidnapped (SCORPIA? MI6? Idk), but thankfully Sabina and Tom rescue him. Tom created the distraction (explosion), while Sab got Alex back (hence the role reversal drawing) and everything is fine and no bad things happen c:

Little add on's:

• Alex still hates horse riding

• Sabina, Tom and Alex all have matching friendship bracelets

• Tom was a farmer's son before and left to live his life on a horse (like Jerry) when his parents divorced

I had an idea to draw alex in a poncho and this just gave me an opportunity to do it :D

I'm team #paranoia because of the implications it has toward Alex.

Let me start with Yassen's side of things. Yes, he was somewhat in the vicinity, but considering he had a job to do, he was most likely preparing for that. He wouldn't have the time to do that, even if perhaps he had considered it.

Now for Alex's end of this lil discussion...

I like that his traumatic experience isn't brushed upon, and shows the possible consequences of him having to deal with what he did in s1/Point Blank. This is for me one of the strengths of the show compared to the books, where Alex is almost inhuman as he goes through one traumatic mission after another.

I also like that Alex is getting some degree of support to deal with his struggles, and I actually hope we get some of that in s3 (although a bit unlikely with Scorpia as the focus).

Another thing that makes me biased toward the paranoia aspect is the way this impacts the level of trust that people have on him. While I myself wouldn't undermine Alex, I like seeing that additional struggle of trying to convince others about what he saw/experienced.

This isn't limited to just Yassen, but even when he had those interactions with Sabina in confessing the nature of his work. The way that the cops wouldn't believe him when the Pleasance residence went up in flames. I just enjoy that added layer of distrust, that adds to Alex's own distrust in himself, but for me personally, I see it as a manipulation device heavily used by MI6.

I have always been fascinated by Alex and his interactions with them, specially the dynamics with Blunt vs with Mrs. Jones.

But this definitely focuses more on Blunt, since he is the more ruthless, 'will do whatever it takes' type. When no one else will trust Alex, Blunt swoops in as if he's there to the rescue (spoiler alert! He's not). More often than not (and this is more in the books I guess), Blunt is even the one who orchestrated the situation in the first place.

So yeah. In conclusion, I stand by Alex seeing Yassen in those earlier moments as a reflection of his paranoia and distrust of everyone around him, as well as a growing distrust of himself, compounded by the trauma of his mission/s.

Thanks to a rabbit trail discussion on another post, now I'm curious:

Edit: to be clear, I mean while Alex is in London, because Yassen was, obviously, in Cornwall. I also should have added "a little of both" as an option, but its too late now... oh well.

Yassen did have reason to be in London (destroying Ed's files), but no real (canon) reason to be following Alex around. Alex admits he's not afraid of Yassen (and therefore there's no reason to be seeing everywhere due to paranoia) but its implied that Yassen does feature in his nightmares regardless (which lends credence to paranoia).

Alex rider season 2. No spoilers

I have no words for what I've watched today. The way the story was set out and how it built up was amazing. This was as good as Point Blanc and probably even better. I was hooked from the first episode and couldn't stop watching. And the last episode was just *chef kiss*. They did such an incredible job with season 2 and I know it may be a while but I'm so ready for season 3.

I’m so happy to read this, because Kate and Edwina’s relationship is as important to me as Kate and Anthony’s, so to know that they are still each other’s best friend, and each other’s most ardent supporter means so much.
