Sandra Poliakov is an illustrator based in Budapest. Using unusual color schemes, she reflects her visual and emotional experiences collected while living in several countries and traveling the world. Focusing on depicting simple life scenes through the prism of daydreaming, her work is mostly about the act of drawing and freely playing with colours and lines. her use of vivid and bold strokes are extremely effective in depicting light and shadow and expressing colours that we don’t always pick up on day to day. i am not using Poliakov’s work as any inspiration for this project but instead i made an image inspired by her style that i will post below this. i would like to incorporate abstract colour palettes into my work in the future as i think it is more effective than a harsh black outline. (sometimes !!)
