While much of Tartosa was spared from the worst of the famine that was rumored to be ravaging other kingdoms? The Ezzo farm was still running into difficulties. Their animals had all died out and their crops have yet to take.

It was by the grace of the Watcher that others still have been able to keep their crops and livestock alive. While their community was more than willing to help each other, however, everything would be more expensive. That combined with their taxes to the empire and tithes to the church... Would make life difficult.

On the bright side, Vanna was able to sell what they still had left over for a higher price as well as paying higher prices for the things they needed. And she also had more time for her hobbies; preparing clothes for the new baby using the time she would have spent chasing after livestock.

Speaking of her pregnancy, things were growing difficult. She'd never been pregnant before, but she wondered if it was normal to feel so dizzy and weak all of the time? To not be able to get through her simple, daily chores?

She knew many women (including her own mother) who had no such issues. . . But they also had more food on their tables. . .

She decided to keep her worries to herself. Her husband had enough on his plate and had already lost all of his children and his previous wife. She couldn't bring herself to distress him when it could be nothing.

I have PTSD, I've had it for years, it is a debilitating illness that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. PTSD nearly fucking killed me multiple times and even though I'm in treatment and am recovering slowly, as far as I know, I'm one bad PTSD episode from losing it all again.

I also have a very close friend who joined the military to immigrate because there were no other legal options and illegal immigration is far too risky for their situation. THEY'RE DOING IT TO FUCKING SURVIVE.

When you sign that contract, there is almost no way of escaping, many, and I mean MANY people don't realize or find out about the corruption until it's too late. For all you know, that person you just wished one of the most horrible mental illnesses on is a victim of the oppressive nature of the army that you supposedly care about so much.

You can't claim to hate the awful system that is the US while also treating victims of said awful system like shit.

If you wish this horrible illness on people who join the military without knowing their full story, fuck you. Genuinely, fuck you.

The situation here is dire. Food and basic necessities are scarce, and famine and malnutrition have become rampant. Our lives are hanging by a thread, and we fear for the safety and well-being of our children every single day.

The cost of living here has become extremely high. All of our resources are going towards securing food and trying to escape from disaster, desperately seeking a lifeline.

We are yearning to escape this nightmare and rebuild our lives in a safe place.

However, the cost of traveling to a safer area was beyond our means.

Each ticket cost $5000 per person,

a sum that was impossible for us to bear. Now, the border crossing is closed, and things continue to worsen.

My friend @fadel-dani and his family haven't been able to eat bread for three days!!! The famine and war in Gaza have intensified, the bombing has increased, and the blockade has tightened, with food shortages increasing daily. The price of a 50kg bag of flour has reached 500 euros. This is unacceptable. Everything is getting more difficult, and the bombing doesn't stop. They need help!!!

Even worse, Fadel was injured when their home was bombed while they were inside. Fadel was left with shrapnel from the explosion and needs urgent surgery outside Gaza. He also suffers from thalassemia and needs a monthly treatment of 400 euros, which he can't afford now. He also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder because his previous campaign, which raised nearly 15,000 euros to enable him to undergo surgery, was deleted. Unfortunately, all donations were returned to their owners, and a new campaign was created, which collected only 11,559 euros. I hope you will help him and his family. She has asked me to host a fundraiser for more of her family, namely for her parents and siblings who desperately need funds for food, water, and medical treatment. They have been displaced multiple times and have only been able to contact Eslam through an unreliable internet connection.

Here is their story as written by her sister, Aya:

"Hello friends, we will tell you our sad story

I am Aya, an outstanding high school student. I was very happy to be on the verge of achieving my dream of finishing my school studies and achieving what I aspired to, which is to become a doctor.

My family of 8 and a beautiful cat named Katie were living a beautiful and peaceful life, each of us striving to achieve our dreams.

We had our beautiful house in Khan Yunis. Recently, we were celebrating my sister Heba’s fourth place in the Gaza Strip in the Arabic language recruitment exam. Our life was like material and emotional perfection. We did not feel deprived or lacking anything.

My sister Lina is a university student. Her dream was to become a psychologist to help mentally ill people in the Strip.

My brother Ahmed was the most beautiful gift from God. He came after 20 years of being deprived of male siblings. After completing his studies, he became a water carrier and took on a great responsibility beyond his capacity.

We also had two little butterflies, the apple of the house, and Jana, the favorites of their teachers and friends at school.

Then the war broke out and everything was turned upside down. We were forced to leave the house after quadcopters surrounded us, tanks surrounded us, and we saw death right in front of our eyes, but we miraculously escaped.

We were displaced several times on foot. Feet, then our end was in a tent that did not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer, and there were poisonous insects and scorpions around us, there was no clean water or healthy food, so my family and I got hepatitis and a lot of intestinal infections.

We were shocked that our house was bombed and destroyed and the features of the house disappeared from the face of the earth, so we felt very sad and despair took over us.

Life here in Gaza is expensive, we cannot buy the minimum necessities of life, imagine that the price of a kilo of tomatoes is $50, and the price of a bag of flour is $200, life here is like a famine! My father is a nervous patient and my mother suffers from chronic pressure and they need continuous treatment and medications. We suffer from bringing water from long distances, and from the high prices of food and cleaning materials and water pollution. What we have suffered most in this war is the loss of members of our family, and this is the hardest thing we have been through. We have lost 20 members of our family. Please help us bear the very high cost of living until we evacuate from Gaza and save our lives. The cost per person is $5,000. Help us, you are the only hope left."

In Gaza, journalists are passing out from exhaustion and famine. Despite the ICJ ruling, the US and Australia are intentionally defunding UNWRA based on baseless claims by Israel that members of the aid group are Hamas-sympathizers. Netanyahu, of course, has ignored the ICJ ruling. Israel has banned insulin pens from arriving in Gaza, a particularly cruel and inhumane crime to add to their laundry list of offences. Nothing has changed, and things are getting worse.

It is not that hard to not buy things. To not watch things. Perhaps it is inconvenient, and makes you go out of your way, and costs a little more to buy alternatives. But if you were to attend a funeral a day for every child that has died in Gaza so far, it would take you over 27 years.
