George and Ruby's outfits going into the 1890s represent the odd dichotomy of their new lives. On one hand, they live a relatively "simple" life on Ruby's father's farm, and are compelled to dress practically, in simple, sturdy clothes, in order to support a lifestyle of hard labor. On the other hand, they have Moses's consistent financial support - less so cash, more often in the form of lavish gifts, especially of expensive clothing. They often have multiple outfits for the same occasion, one more expensive, and one more practical.

George in particular has taken to Moses's habit of giving gifts. George finds the promise of wealth infinitely appealing, and although he hasn't yet obtained said wealth, Moses's expensive presents often make him feel as if he has. Because of this influence from his father-in-law, George's outfits have also trended more towards Moses's all-black color scheme, becoming darker in color and adding in more blues and jewel tones, to replace George's teenage greens and yellows. He dresses in Moses's gift-clothing whenever possible, only returning to more practical garments while working on the farm.

Ruby, on the other hand, seems discomforted by the expensive clothes her father throws at her. Her hunger for independence and identity tends to push her away from making use of his gifts, no matter how lovely. She does dress up when he asks her to, or when the situation arises, but otherwise Ruby favors sturdy, comfortable, practical clothing. Some of her outfits do retain her teenage greens and yellows, especially those given to her by Moses, but the majority of her clothes are in a soft, neutral color palette, made up of mostly creams and browns. Still, Ruby does have a taste for drama, and what she lacks in fashionable clothing, she makes up for in her variable, expressive hats, often covered in flowers or feathers.

January, 1318: Elwyne Farm, The Crumbling Isle, Windenberg:

The year started off on a sour note for the Elwyne siblings. Pests, seeking refuge from the cold, crawled into their farm and took residence everywhere.

Volkivia tried her best to stay on top of things, but she struggled to kill them as fast as they were repopulating. Kid didn't seem to mind too much, much to her dismay.

She would have to wage this war against the insects alone. That's alright. She's a stubborn girl and will come out on top.

In The Family Way - A Medieval Pregnancy Kit For Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod

I love a good historical gameplay, and I love Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod. However, for obvious reasons that mod is heavily Modern Era™-coded. But I felt as though there were elements to the mod that could be adapted to my favorite kind of gameplay. This little kit is the result of that feeling. Find the items easily by searching for either [scandisim] or Pandasama in Build/Buy. Please keep in mind before reading any further that none of these work without the original mod by Pandasama, will not even show up in game without the original mod, and all credit for the mod and original items goes to them!

Although by far the least fashionable of her siblings, adulthood and independence has allowed Florence to explode some aspects of fashion she had previously dismissed as "girly." The beginnings of this exploration are evident in her wardrobe, less so in style as in the sheer volume of clothing she begins to amass while in Peru. Still, her wardrobe is very limited in terms of aesthetic, as Florence maintains her preference for practical, erudite clothing. Her hemlines are generally a practical ankle-length, and she continues to prefer simple, masculine styles. Similarly, Florence's color palette of blues and browns has remained the same, though she now has begun to incorporate more white into her wardrobe, owing both to Peru's pervasive heat, and to the new sense of freedom she feels, separated from her family.

Surprise, surprise, Minna is pregnant again! They are planning for this to be their last child. Rolf is pretty excited about it and hopes for another boy, while Minna is convinced it's another girl.

Adelbert is now a child! (I know he is technically six... but he's getting on the damn horse as quick as he can) He... isn't the best at mounting just yet. Given how defiant Lightning is, he is surprisingly patient with Adelbert. Adelbert is not ready to actually try to walk with Lightning just yet.

When the baby was born, Minna turned, and they welcomed little Ennelyn! We aren't going to talk about the fact that Rolf immediately turned and stared at the wall. Adelbert and Zelda are pretty pleased with their new sister! Ennelyn is not very entertained by Adelbert's stories though.

Rolf is selling this time and somehow has caught the eye of the King...? Totally not stressing him and making him ecstatic to be noticed as a peasant. (Townies are from the Tale of Yore save file made by Divan the Simmer!)

Besides woohooing, there really isn't anything fun for the adults to do. Desperate for some entertainment, Beatrix tried to socialize with one of the hens. She was rather aggressively rebuffed.
