My dad’s funeral or home going is tomorrow…and I’m not going…I’m traumatized from being alone while waiting for help to come as he lay dying. I planned on saying goodbye and honoring my dad in my own way. I planned to finish watching a show that we had been watching together as a way of saying goodbye. I just can’t see him on the coffin…

Hey Groovers! I hope you're all well! I'm back from my two week holiday in Vietnam. Here's a pic of me standing in Hanoi's famous Train Street, where you can enjoy a beverage or a meal while a high speed train whooshes past literally inches away. More Vietnamese picture spam under the cut.

Some pics too of one of the hotels we stayed at in Hanoi which blew me away with the beautiful design and facilities and the amazing staff. We felt like rock stars staying there! It was just across the street too from the Australian Embassy:

Vietnam is an incredible holiday...still very cheap but with world class hotels and delicious food. The countryside is captivating, and the beauty of the landscape in Ninh Binh and Halong Bay in particular was jaw-dropping. The cities are a mind-blowing experience, especially the well-documented traffic 'chaos'. The favoured mode of transport is scooters/ motorbikes and there are very few rules when it comes to driving. Drive on the right, on the left, on the footpath...anything goes. Everyone seems to be driving while on their phones, often while carrying two or three passengers. Sometimes there's a dog sitting between the driver's feet. For the first few days we were there crossing the road was quite a hair-raising experience, but you quickly learn to tap into the rhythm of the traffic and to be 'predictable' as my son described it. If you need to cross the road just walk at a steady pace, don't make any 'unpredictable' moves, and the motorbikes will go around you. It sounds crazy as I type it out now when I'm back home but really, that's the system that worked best for us! We had no 'near misses' either.

Vietnam was an amazing experience, and I would recommend it as a holiday destination 100%. I also need to add that I feel very humbled and moved by the history and culture I was exposed to, in particular the War Remnants Museum in Saigon. Things we saw and read about there will haunt me forever.

[Participants Needed] How and Why Fans use Character.ai

Hello! This is not my usual type of post but I need help with my university dissertation!

I’m a final year university student currently working on a research project about how and why self-identified fans use character.ai, looking at their motivations and gratifications. I am exploring the connections formed between the user and the characters, whether they can be considered parasocial, and how these bonds influence fan behaviours, practices, and communities.  

I’m looking for participants (18+) from any fandom who have experience using CAI chatbots, and would be willing to share their experiences through an interview process (via video chat, messages, any way that makes you comfortable) – it will hopefully feel more like a casual discussion rather than an overly formal meeting!  

Everything will be anonymous, and all participants will be able to withdraw or redact information any time up until submission.  

If you’re interested in helping me or have any questions, please either respond in the comments or message me directly. I will be exceptionally grateful to anyone who wants to take part, it would be a huge help in getting my degree.

@plumblobs this is my first Rook - Roser de Riva: an Antivan Crow with an overconfident ego who tends to put her foot in her mouth because she just kinda blurts things out without thinking.

I'm not super far into the game yet: I have the first 4 companions, an idea of who to romance, and the Crossroads has become my Hinterlands.

I also ran into the Bloodbound to Elgar'nan at level 12 and spent an ungodly amount of time fighting with no potions but managed to succeed. I was not prepared for that one, lol

I need to apologize because after today’s post it is just story post after story post (for like a week and then we’re free). It doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it haunts me. As much as I try to cut it down and make it more concise… I really can’t or the overall plot doesn’t make sense/I don’t think it’s as fun of a read. So just know I didn’t want this to happen!! 😞
