Paganism beside Hellenic Polytheist community? What else is out there? Where to learn more? Book recommendations?
I wonder why the algorythm bombards me with Hellenic Polytheism posts lately... :/ Nothing wrong with it tho, these blogs are cool at core, just wonder where are the other branches of polytheism... and how can I find them? What branches are out there too?

A spicy take no one asked me for, I also believe that the "wait for your spells to take action before casting another" is lowkey Christian Coded (as a lot of the authors I see writing this kind of rhetoric are former Church members, stay with me) and for me it almost comes off as "leave it in the hands of the lord, you're done praying now" ... and that's not what witchcraft is to me, personally. It feels like the authors of this advice equate spells to our "desperate prayers" if you will, like we aren't thinking them through, we're doing them in moments of high emotion, and that displays very little trust for the actual practitioners with this advice, in my opinion at least.
Edit to Clarify, the last two paragraphs of dear SecularWitch is basically what I see so often and it makes me feel like the person writing the advice is doing 2 things, 1 has no faith in their audience, 2 has little understanding of their own spell craft.
Like I said, spicy take. Nobody asked me.
I have noticed that sometimes people seem to have this idea that you are really only allowed to cast one spell on a situation, and that's it. Or, you can only cast that specific spell on that situation once, and in order to try again, you have to change spells.
I don't know where this idea comes from. It's not a part of any tradition or school, as far as I'm aware.
Spells can be conceptualized as little guys that you create and release to take a specific kind of action.
You can create and release as many little guys you want, even if they're all trying to do the exact same thing.
There is no "magical law" that dictates you are only ever supposed to have one guy working on a situation at one time, or that if he fails, you can't make a copy to try again.

Hey there! 👋🏼
I figured that today would be the perfect time to explain what tarot is and a bit of the history behind it.
- Tarot is defined as any set of cards used in tarot games and in fortune telling. A standard deck of tarot cards has 78 cards and consists of two groups. The typical deck that tarot readers will start with is the Rider-Waite Smith deck. There is a story behind the traditional deck though that often goes untold. What happened was that in 1909, William Rider and Arthur Waite did not want to give credit to the illustrator of their deck named Pamela Smith, especially with her being a biracial, queer woman. It wasn’t until 1911, which was two years later that Rider and Waite re-released a copy of the Rider-Waite Smith deck to include Pamela. That just goes to show how prevalent discrimination was during that time. Way to go Pamela Smith for being an intersectional feminist!
- With that being said, let me discuss what the two groups that make up a tarot deck include:
• The Major Arcana, which has 22 cards, follows the Fool’s story in what is said to be “The Fool’s Journey”. The journey that the Fool takes symbolizes the steps we as humans take throughout our lives on the path to growth, evolution, and spiritual enlightenment.
• The Minor Arcana, the second group of tarot cards, comprises 56 cards and is divided into four suits of 14 cards. These suits consist of Wands (Clubs), Cups (Hearts), Swords (Spades), and Pentacles (Diamonds). Each set also has 4 court cards and 10 numbered cards. The numbered cards go from Ace – 10 for each suit in which numerology (the meaning of numbers) plays a part in their significance.
*What is something you learned about or from tarot recently? Please feel free to share in the comments!
Love,
-Detroit Hippie Chick🔮✨❤️

Red Robin (yum!)
Tumblr media
Since it’s almost winter, I’m going to mention something to do with spring! So I was listening to Hex Positive (podcast, episode 10) today and the hostess (Bree NicGarran) was talking about celebrating the day you see your first robin. She seemed surprised that her cohost also celebrated it, but I’ve been doing this for years. I never really thought about it as a celebration--just the first day I saw a robin! It would be nice to come up with a ritual for it, though. I’m always thrilled to see signs of spring.

Hello Everyone! Happy New Moon in Pisces ♓︎🌑
-This moon cycle opens us up to new creative ideas and perspectives since there is a stellium in the sign of Pisces. A stellium indicates that there are three or more planets in a specific astrological sign. With the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Neptune all being in Pisces, right now is a great time to focus on turning your dreams into reality either by manifesting or setting a plan to create some smart goals.
•This new moon, I have made it a priority to listen to my body and my intuition by taking time to rest and recharge. When I feel myself becoming worn down, I take a break to listen to music, meditate, color, or do what I feel my soul needs. I cater to my inner child by going on Disney+ and watching some of my favorite shows from childhood like That's So Raven, that show always cheers me up!
What are some ways that you all relax and recharge? I hope this New Moon turns out to be everything you could have wished for! ✨♓︎🌑
Love,
-Detroit Hippie Chick🔮
