So, I just had a raid on one of Team Flare’s hideouts and I now have several Pokemon that have been reported as missing, stolen, or confiscated. I’ve also rescued and confiscated some of the Flare’s Pokemon. The thing is, none of these Pokemon want to go to the wild, and they all seem to be fairly healthy, but I can only take in so many Pokemon before I start to get overwhelmed.

The Pokemon who need to be rehomed are as follows:

10 pyroar, both male and female (former trainers were from regions where these can be found), family group so a family taking them in would be preferred ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅

3 male Hydreigon, all mild tempered, they will need experienced trainers who have raised a salamance at the very least, all three have injuries that lead me to believe they were mistreated, so please be patient with them ✅✅✅

A pair of zoroark, both are very gentle and love playtime ✅✅

5 toxicroak, they are surprisingly affectionate and friendly

3 shiny bisharp, they are siblings and seem to be very attached to one another ✅ ✅✅

15 non shiny bisharp, they vary in temperament but none are aggressive, they all enjoy battle though

4 cryogonal, they are very high temper but are not aggressive, they just have some serious anxiety issues ✅✅

my laios and kabru dungeon meshi pokemon teams (respectively). explanations for each pick and my general ideas of how they would be as trainers below.

first up, laios

laios would be a very very dedicated pokemon trainer, and an avid researcher of pokemon ecology. i think he would be in absolute bliss in the pokemon world, a world where “monsters” and people live and work together in harmony. i wanted to represent his dedication by giving him pokemon that are rare, or take plenty of effort to evolve, either by friendship or by extensive level grinding. i also felt like laios would be fascinated by the concept of shiny hunting, and wanted to reflect this in his team.

his pokemon

silvally: self explanatory, isn't it? reflective of his "awesome monster". it’s a chimera that resents humans based on the circumstance of it’s existence. evolves based on love and true friendship. the absolute epitome of laios’s true identity. they are also both legendary and extremely rare, so this means he had to put in a lot of hard work to get a partner like this.

Through the bond it formed with its Trainer, its will was strengthened, and it was able to destroy its control mask.

The final factor needed to release this Pokémon's true power was a strong bond with a Trainer it trusts.

lycanroc: represents the dogs that raised him in his parent’s absence, and also his true ideal “wolf self”. it's my opinion that the wolf head of laios’s chimera form is the one that most concretely represents laios (it’s missing in earlier portrayals of his chimera form, and is the reason he chooses the wolf cloak when he becomes king.). it is also extremely loyal and protective of those it loves, just like laios.

When properly raised from a young age, it will become a trustworthy partner that will absolutely never betray its Trainer.

pyroar: indicative of the winged lion, obviously, but also a reference to the “main body” of the greek chimera myth. shiny mostly because the colors of the shiny remind me of him more. also male, not just for the mane, but because pyroar is 97.5% female — so this form is very rare! this pokedex entry really reminds me of laios:

The males are usually lazy, but when attacked by a strong foe, a male will protect its friends with no regard for its own safety.

braviary: represents the “eagle head” on his chimera form, and the idea of either a hippogriff or a griffin. braviary evolves extremely late in levels, so owning one is indicative of a lot of time put into training it. and i think laios would really enjoy searching for a shiny rufflet and training it for so long. braviary’s pokedex entries are extremely fitting for his personality, and they even have a connection to royalty, and sometimes even retaliate towards humans:

They fight for their friends without any thought about danger to themselves. One can carry a car while flying.

For the sake of its friends, this brave warrior of the sky will not stop battling, even if injured.

It's thought that people disturbed their habitats in the past, so Braviary banded together to fight back.

Known for its bravery and pride, this majestic Pokémon is often seen as a motif for various kinds of emblems.

hydreigon: not only a dragon, but one with multiple heads! i think laios would really personally resonate with the concept of the hydreigon line. because of this i can imagine himself dedicating himself to raising this “cool” dragon, not just because it’s cool, but because he understands “fighting with yourself/your desires”. on top of all of that, hydreigon have been known to destroy villages and resent human beings:

There are a slew of stories about villages that were destroyed by Hydreigon. It bites anything that moves.

It's said that Hydreigon grew ferocious because people in times long past loathed it, considering it to be evil incarnate and attacking it relentlessly.

It responds to movement by attacking. This scary, three-headed Pokémon devours everything in its path!

aegislash: it’s kensuke! this pokemon feels like it was basically made for laios, and reminds me of dungeon meshi in general. i mean, just look at these pokemon entries:

Apparently, it can detect the innate qualities of leadership. According to legend, whoever it recognizes is destined to become king.

Its potent spectral powers allow it to manipulate others. It once used its powers to force people and Pokémon to build a kingdom to its liking.

aegislash also reminds me of the winged lion, and is representative of not just laios’s eventual position as king, but also his “idealized” leadership as “dungeon master” over the course of the story.

now onto kabru!

as a trainer, in accordance to his position as laios's foil, i'd imagine that kabru would focus much less on pokemon battles and pokemon training. much like his lack of skill when it comes to exploring the dungeon, kabru is very people focused first, and i'd imagine his team is not very strong when it comes to battling... but i still wanted picks that would be indicative of who he is as a person. i'd like to think he acquired most of his pokemon not by the headstrong dedication towards exploration and catching that laios would have, but by making the right connections through trading and making bonds with other people. however, the few that he would have found on his own would be extremely special to him.

stufful: cute and unassuming on the surface, but secretly spiteful and aggressive underneath... it reminds me of kabru a lot. this is also the first in the start of a running theme of plush / toy-like pokemon i incorporated into his team, to represent his childhood being raised by misiril and treated like a "doll". kabru's childhood is something i find very few people take into consideration, but it really changes the way you look at his character...

A touch from anyone except a known friend sends it into a surging frenzy. It's an incredibly dangerous Pokémon. Its fluffy fur is a delight to pet, but carelessly reaching out to touch this Pokémon could result in painful retaliation.

mimikyu: another contribution to the doll-like theme of his team, but also is a pokemon that i feel is most representative of kabru's personality... someone who just wants to be loved and idolizes and takes after another, hiding behind a cute and nice mask, with an unending well of loneliness and a desire to be friends despite feeling like something evil. kabru talks about how he feels like a monster due to his lineage with misiril in his adventure's bible excerpt, and it's always struck powerfully with me. (as a result i can't stand when people make blue eyes jokes about him, lol.) he spends his entire adventure idolizing laios, just wanting to be his friend... (and secretly hating him.) to me, mimikyu is a perfect partner for kabru.

A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon. It has taken damage and can no longer hold the head of its cloth disguise upright. For as long as it lives, Mimikyu will never forget its attacker.

mawile: meant to symbolize kabru's "two-faced"ness, and also just seemed like a type i thought he would enjoy. yet another cute looking pokemon to contribute to his team's theme, as well. this pokemon's dex entries mention how it uses it's cute facade to lure in other pokemon, and i thought that was fitting. i also thought it was nice that the jaws are actually horns, playing back into kabru's self-demonization.

Don't be taken in by this Pokémon's cute face—it's very dangerous. Mawile fools the foe into letting down its guard, then chomps down with its massive jaws. The steel jaws are really horns that have been transformed. It has two mouths. The big jaws on the back of its head can't taste anything, so that's the mouth it uses to eat foods it doesn't like.

espurr: a small and cute pokemon that reminded me of misiril, and kabru as a child. i also wanted to include it in order to make it clear that kabru wouldn't always care about fully evolving or training his pokemon, or using anything considered "strong" - since battling wouldn't be his expertise. this is yet another pokemon that seems docile but is secretly holding back dangerous power. i thought that he would resonate with this pokemon's blank and scary stare.

Though Espurr's expression never changes, behind that blank stare is an intense struggle to contain its devastating psychic power.

banette: next to mimikyu, i feel like this pokemon most accurately reflects kabru's past and personality. once again calling back to kabru's unhealthy childhood, and his treatment as an object. originally being a toy itself, banette holds strong grudges against those who have abandoned and wronged it.

An abandoned plush doll became this Pokémon. They are said to live in garbage dumps and wander about in search of the children that threw them away. It's a stuffed toy that was thrown away and became possessed, ever searching for the one who threw it away so it can exact its revenge. Resentment at being cast off made it spring into being. Some say that treating it well will satisfy it, and it will once more become a stuffed toy.

buneary: for his final team member, i knew from the outset that i wanted to include a buneary on his team. buneary is the only pokemon to start off with a base 0 happiness -- and as a result is an extremely hard pokemon to evolve! this also pairs well with the unique move of Frustration - a move that is more powerful the lower a pokemon's happiness. this seemed fitting. i wanted to keep it at a weak stage, but i also enjoy that it's a friendship evolution that he could slowly raise. i made this pokemon shiny partially because i just associate kabru with the color pink, but also because i thought it told a nice story. i liked the idea of kabru finding this equally battle-wary but extremely rare pokemon and slowly having it warm up to him over time, as he slowly learns to trust a "monster" he is somewhat wary of himself.

If both of Buneary's ears are rolled up, something is wrong with its body or mind. It's a sure sign the Pokémon is in need of care.

Laur's Field Notes: Poochyena (#261) & Mightyena (#262)

Scientific Name: Hyaena mordax

Species: Bite Pokémon

Average Wild Lifespan: 24 to 30 years

Habitat

The Poochyena line typically inhabits savannahs and other grasslands, though they may also be found in more forested areas. These Pokémon are most commonly found in the Hoenn Region, but there are smaller populations in Kanto, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Kitakami as well.

Diet

Poochyena and Mightyena are primarily scavengers, with the bulk of their diets consisting of prey that has been hunted by other, larger predators such as Pyroar. In addition to this, Poochyena and Mightyena will supplement their diet with small rodent and insect Pokémon, eggs, fruit, and fungi.

Social Behaviours & Reproduction

Members of the Poochyena line either live nomadically (meaning that they travel alone from place to place), or as part of a social group (also known as a clan.) Clans may be structured in two different ways:

The first clan structure is comparable to that of Pyroar and Luxray. Clans with this structure will consist of multiple (typically related) females, their offspring of both sexes, and an unrelated breeding male, who will mate with the females and protect the clan from other males looking to take over.

The second clan structure is similar to the first clan structure in that the clans are comprised of related individuals but, instead of having one devoted breeding male, the clan females mate with nomadic males who venture into their territory.

This line is does not have a set mating season, but they typically mate between May and August. Pregnancy lasts for about 100 days, and the average litter is comprised of one to five cubs.

Members of this line are considered to be fully mature at around 3 years of age. Upon reaching maturity, females will typically remain with the clan while males will typically leave, though this is not always the case.

Variants

There are four different coat colours (coming in various shades) seen in members of the Poochyena line: grey and black (Standard), blond and brown (Shiny), pure grey, and pure brown. Leucism has also been observed within the line.

Poochyena are occasionally born with spotted or striped pelts. These markings tend to be unique to each individual, and may even be used by those working with or observing clans to identify specific Poochyena/Mightyena.

This species is one of the few species with noticeable differences between domestic-bred and wild-bred individuals. For example, wild-bred members of this line exhibit rounder ears and stronger, more sloping toplines than their domestic-bred counterparts.

Just caught a shiny litleo while hunting for a shiny espathra! I’m thrilled because although I have a male and female shiny pyroar and two shiny female litleo this one is a male 😭❤️ pyroar is my fav Pokémon. I love lions. One of the shiny litleo that I have is actually a 6IV one I hatched in 2015 (parents passed down 5IVs with destiny knot, I just got super lucky with the last IV roll). Still buzzing about that ten years later lmao

Part 9 of my dc x pokemon series: Wonder Woman!

Diana's companion pokemon for day to day, as she doesn't have a secret identity. She is an ambassador and has a museum project as a historical expert. She no longer names all of her pokemon vesides the functionally immortal ones.

Common Nidoqueen: descendant of the first Nidoqueen she caught in man's world. She was amazed at how different they are from Themysciran Nidoqueen and the fact that there is a male counterpart.

Illumise

Plagon: Claydol caught in man's world.

Bronzong: caught in man's world but nameless so far, but there's plenty of time to come up with a good name.

Tinkaton: Kept in the ball when visiting Wayne Manor, lest this pokemon attack the Corviknight that roost there.

Florges (Yellow flower): descendant of flabebe given to her by Steve Trevor.

Hisuian Lilligant: Found a pocket of survivors on a remote island. Keeps the island secret from even her two best friends, but people that see her with this pokemon are amazed.

Arboliva: Bred on Themyscira.

Zenaida: Sigilyph

Themyscriran Indeedee (female only)

Combat and support companions. Much like Superman, Wonder Woman doesn't have very many heroic pokemon.

Amalthea: A Themysciran Nidoqueen that has been with her since childhood as a nidoran. Provides help in rescues and crowd control.

Penthesilea: Aegislash bestowed upon Diana by her mother, Hippolyta.

Galarian Rapidash: provides support. Comforts victims and provides crowd control while Diana battles.

I recently encountered some random shinies, including a Snubbull, Tentacool, and female Pyroar (her name is Nala), and managed to hunt down a shiny Joltik despite accidentally making my shiny bug sandwich a tiny power instead of encounter power (this was. Very not helpful. Joltik is already tiny. It does not need to be smaller.)

Oh congrats!!! I haven't been playing a lot on my main file lately but I got my shiny minior. I also got a zweilous while looking for Roaring Moon. I plan on a applin hunt soon for Hydrapple and another Roaring Moon hunt ^^

X BADGE QUEST SHINY #2

This one should not have taken this long.

Summer 2022: I decide I want to do another shiny BQ in generation 6. I get a lovely shiny Fennekin in July 2022.

And here we are 2 years later with target #2.

A total of 12 phases on the dreaded route 22 where I obtained, over the course of 2 years, while juggling school: 1 Psyduck, 2 Farfetch'd, 2 Azurill, 4 Bunnelby and 2 Riolu, the latter having a 5% encounter rate whereas my target, Litleo, was 20%. A farce from the universe, obviously.

I am so happy to say I finally found Litleo, and a male one on top of that! I do like male Pyroar better than female Pyroar. I initially just went into this hunt allowing fate to decide if I was going to get the rare male Litleo.... but after a few phases, the mystique of the Litleo hunt had washed away and I just wanted to do whatever I wanted. So to get a female Cute Charm lead I went!

He was going to be named after the leads in Lion King II regardless of gender: Kovu or Kiara, the icons, the legends.

Playing X and Y is always so fun for me, so I was thrilled I could finally press on with this quest and challenge myself by preparing for Grant with a Braixen and a Litleo. My next target shall be Honedge. With a Magnet Pull lead and a level 11 repel trick, I'm able to get a 63% encounter rate on route 6. Crossing my fingers this will be a phaseless hunt!

Teen Titans Pokemon Teams

Here are my picks for the various pokemon the different members of the Teen Titans would choose. Cyborg, Nightwing, and Robin will not be on this list as I've already done their Pokemon teams on the Justice League and Batfam pokemon team posts.

Starfire

Female Pyroar- Being the princess of Tamaran, Kori having a female Pyroar made the most sense to me. Also fun fact about Tamaranian evolution (the Darwinian kind), they descended from a feline species.

Togekiss- Togekiss are a peace-loving pokemon. This is a reflection of Starfire's more cheerful personality.

Orange Flower Florges- It's dex entry from Scarlet reads "Its orange flowers fire off powerful beams, attacking as if they were a battery of artillery."

Tamaranean Jynx- A Fire/Psychic type, this pokemon's kisses are able to sap information from opponents' minds. They've adapted to the hot and climate of the planet. Tamaranean Jynx is has the abilities Flame Body and Forewarn. Starfire's Jynx specifically has the ability Flame Body. This pokemon is a reference to the famous kiss Starfire shared with Robin.

Tamaranean Gardevoir- It's loyalty to its trainer has made it become allowed for its evolution line to become fighting/fairy (Gallade however Psychic/Fairy). Now utilizing aura to fight, its signature fighting type move Aura Bolt can inflict burn onto targets. This is both a reference to Starfire's starbolts and loyalty to her friends. Also, it gives a funny connection to Barbara also having a Gardevoir.

Mega Charizard Y- Starfire has the ability to generate yellow sunlight with her body and move at incredibly fast speeds. Same goes for Mega Charizard Y

Due to there not being many fire type alien pokemon, I initially struggled with this one. But then it occurred to me I can just make Starfire have regional variants.

Raven

Shiny Delphox- Being a sorcerer, Raven having Delphox reflects Raven's ability to see into the future.

Golduck- The choice for this pokemon stems from the gem on Raven's forehead

Absol- Another pokemon that can see into the future but is revered as an enemy.

Galarian Slowking- A cursed meta pokemon, Raven's Galarian meta slowking is a more efficient sorcerer than other Galarian Slowking. Its not only capable of using toxic potions but also utilize dark magic itself. Its new ghost-type move Nevermore causes the opponent to be both confused and be pelted with pecks. The Galarian Meta Slowking is now a Ghost/Poison type.

Mismagius- You can guess why.

Mega Gardevoir- A reference to Raven's white uniform, Gardevoir gains immense power during mega evolution.

Raven's pokemon team was fairly simple to come up with.

Beast Boy

Rillaboom- Beast Boy is able to transform into all kinds of different pokemon because of his connection to the Red. But that wouldn't have happened if it weren't for him contracting a rare disease that could only be cured by a serum made from a green monkey. Of course, in the pokemon world, that green monkey would be caught and trained by Beast Boy.

Eevee- Beast Boy's Eevee is unique, being a meta pokemon that has a connection to the red. Its ability Eevolvee allows it to transform into any eeveelution during a battle. It also gains a new move called Red Beam which changes its type and damage type depending on whatever eeveelution it transforms into.

Beast Boy doesn't have a full pokemon team because in the pokemon world, he would be able to transform into a green version of every pokemon. If Tofrog from Lockstin&Gnoggin's Lockemon series was real, B.B. would definitely have one.

Aquaman (Jackson Hyde)

Sharpedo- Because Jackson Hyde's father is Black Manta, some of his pokemon are the pokemon his father has. Sharpedo being one of them.

Politoed- Politoed is meant to reflect the kinder nature of Jack compared to his father

Female Basculegion- Color coordination and his father had the male version.

Cetitan- Another land and sea pokemon.

Dragonite- A pokemon that grew up in the sea but developed in the air.

Samurott- A pokemon that could have become evil, but didn't

I don't know much about Jackson, I don't keep up with the Aquaman comics or Young Justice tv show. So suggestions are aplicable

The Flash (Wally West)

Cinderace- Because of Cinderace's design having elements that remind me of the Flash, Wally has one too. It also a Meta-Variant.

Blissey- Wally is the most caring out of all the flashes, being the one who often checks on the injured whether they be friend or foe.

Raichu- Wally is also one of the more aggressive and petty of the Flashes, hence why he has a Raichu.

Gallade- It is a proficient fighter just like Wally.

Archeops- A meta-variant, This Electric/Flying Archeops moves at incredible speed, having the Speed-Force ability. This is a reference to the dromaeosaur (raptor dinosaur) that Wally encountered when being dragged through time.

Zeraora- A meta-variant of the mythical pokemon, its connection to the speed force is immense having priority for every move it uses and an increase in speed every turn thanks to its new ability Speed Pulse. Its new attack Moment Fist is based on its speed stat. This is a reference to how Wally is the fastest Flash and perform the move Infinite Mass Punch.

Kid Flash (Wallace West II aka Ace West)

Grafaiai- During Ace's introduction in the New 52, he is seen spray-painting a wall before Barry arrests him (Goddammit Barry, you're a forensic scientist for the police, not an actual officer!)

Pawmot- Imbued with the speed force, Meta Pawmot has an ability called Momentum Sap where any physical contact with this pokemon can lower the enemy's speed and increase Pawmot's. This is a reference to one of Ace's abilities as a speedster.

Rotom- Imbued with the speed force, Meta Rotom has the unique ability to form constructs out of electricity using its new ability: Electromagnia. Electromagnia allows for Meta Rotom to transform into its different forms while in battle while levitating off the ground. This is a reference to speedster's relationship with electromagnetism and how Ace can form speed force constructs to create his suit.

Ace doesn't have a full team as he is still just a kid.

Scorbunny- Being the grandson of Barry Allen, Impulse having a Meta-Scorbunny makes sense. It has the Speed-Force ability.

Pikachu- Again, as the grandson of Barry Allen, he would have pokemon similar to Barry

Plusle- As the son of Dawn West, Bart has a Plusle to reflect the fact he is the son of a tornado twin (yes, Inertia has Minun)

Like with Ace, Bart doesn't have a full team.

Hisuian Decidueye- Fits his color scheme, he's an archer, and Oliver has one.

Houndstone- Roy was undead as a black lantern for a period of time.

Tinkaton- Roy loves tinkering and making gadgets

Rotom- Similar reasoning with Tinkaton with the added fact that Roy can hack into tech.

Clawitzer- Again, because of tinkering and gadgetry, but with the added fact that he can use weapons efficiently.

Magmortar- Color scheme, gadgetry, and type balancing.

Arsenal's team mainly consists of pokemon that would aid him with technology.

Tempest (Garth)

Grapploct- This is a reference to topo.

Atlantean Reuniclus- Garth can utilize magic to manipulate water and so Atlantean Reuniclus is a representation of that ability.

Primarina- Similar reason as Atlantean Reuniclus

Wishiwashi- A nod to how one of his abilities is marine telepathy

Poliwrath- Noted for being incredibly strong, and Tempest is very strong

Lugia- Being that he is a magic user of the sea, I felt him having a water-adjacent pokemon would be a good idea.

Tempest was somewhat difficult to come up with considering not many pokemon fit his power set.

Farigarif- Matches her color scheme to a degree and reflects her powers partly.

Medicham- This pokemon reflect's roses ability to predict enemy attacks

Samurott- Rose has skilled swordsmanship

Bisharp- Because her father would definitely own a Kingambit, this pokemon made the most sense to me. Rose's Bisharp would carry an eviolite.

Ravager's team is built of pokemon that reflects her main skills.

Superboy (Conner Kent)

Palafin- Being a clone of superman, Conner would also have certain pokemon that reflect his heritage. One of those being Palafin.

Boltund- Similar reasoning as before but with the added note of how in the TV show Titans, he was introduced with Krypto.

Alakazam- Being part Lex Luthor and Sammy Stryker, this is a double-nod to his heritage and tactile telekinesis.

Silvally- I can definitely see Conner escaping with one of the Silvally Lex Luthor made to stop Superman.

Superboy's team is meant to reflect his genetic heritage.

I guess I know I've been playing too much Pokémon (and too close to bed) because I had a dream that my husband and I lived in the Pokémon world last night.

We took our Pokemon to watch an eclipse.

My husband gets off work early, dropped off by an unseen driver of a pickup truck, but with a timburr waving at him from the back. This makes sense because irl he is a carpenter. He's also 6'3" and has broad shoulders, which make the perfect vehicle for his Rowlet to be constantly perched on one shoulder. He greets me and gathers his two other buddies. As we walk towards a hill, he carries a potted Bellsprout tucked under one arm and pushes a tank of water on a cart by the other arm. The tank is for his eelktross! I carry a female Shiny Shinx in my arms and am followed closely by a big happy male Pyroar and an aloof (but secretly wants to be near me always) male Luxray. I don't know how I established backstory in this dream, but I just knew that I had raised the Pyroar from a Litleo cub and gotten the Luxray later in it's life as a Luxio. Shiny Shinx was an unclaimed egg that became a foster fail. All very on brand for me so far.

If you've seen my abundance of Pokémon lion posts, you won't be surprised that during the eclipse, a Solgaleo appears and is curious about me and my lions. He approaches and I cautiously offer it food. I have to hold back Pyroar from taking it himself. Solgaleo takes it after some careful sniffing and then quickly warms up to us. He doesn't want to be touched until he sees Luxray get his mane brushed, then head butts his way into getting brushed himself. He follows us home and presumably we all live happily ever after lol.

When I woke up, I thought about Solgaleo's canon body and was wondering if he could actually be brushed. Is he not made of metal? Well, maybe not. Pokemon's official website says he has "shining metallic fur" so I'm saying YES he can be brushed.

I should practice drawing more so I can draw this strange dream! I'm especially enamored by the idea of my husband carrying about all his favorite mons.
