Day 12 - Challenge Day

In Team Odyssey, we wear green pajamas and play on our phones together 😎 This team is making sure they start the day off right! (Though Idk how it took me this long to realize the majority of this team has similar-colored pajamas... I think it's adorable!)

So, what are we doing today? We've landed in San Myshuno, and tonight our contestants will be taking part in Planet Honey Pop's karaoke contest!

Each contestant will be participating in the karaoke contest by singing "Weekender." Everyone's individual scores will be recorded and tallied up for a team total. The team with the higher team total wins invincibility and first class!

With Team Success gone, it's now just win-or-lose for our remaining 2 teams. Will Team Integrity fall once again to the clutches of Team Odyssey? Or will Team Odyssey finally suffer its first loss? It's time to find out...

We begin with Team Odyssey! With Team Odyssey having one more person than Team Integrity, Raylan was randomly chosen to sit out this challenge. So, he's in the back with Team Integrity enjoying his teammates' performances.

Tomiko and Ziggy put in their all into singing "Weekender!" Both are confident they did well in the karaoke contest.

Team Integrity is next, and they too put in all their singing efforts into the contest. It's a good thing they have singer-boy Matteo on their team!

Though after a while, Ziggy made himself clear that he was done hearing people sing (horribly)...

Day 18 - Challenge Day

We have arrived in the coastal city of Brindleton Bay, known for its bustling harbors and its love for canine and feline creatures! We will be taking part in that love for pets today, specifically the canine kind, in today's challenge!

We have enlisted the help of our new canine friend Toby, who will be joining us at the dog park to run the obstacle course you see here with our teams. As you can probably guess, we made sure to pick the most troublesome, menace-to-society dog we could; not only is Toby super lazy, he's also stubborn and doesn't like listening to human commands!

What makes this challenge special is that only one member of each team will be selected to run the obstacle course with Toby. Everyone else will get to sit and watch, hoping that their chosen team member will perform well the Toby. In the end, the team that accumulates the least amount of faults with Toby will win invincibility and first class!

The contestants chosen to be in their teams' hot seats are Matteo (IN) and Raylan (OD)! Good luck! 🤞

Matteo goes first, and although Toby was unable to go through the tunnels, he managed to jump onto a platform as Matteo directed! Matteo makes sure to reward Toby for a job (not the best) done. Matteo ended up getting 4 faults from his obstacle course run

Now, it's Raylan's turn. Although he wasn't able to get Toby through the tunnel at first, he did manage to get him to jump (ungracefully) through a ring. After trying the tunnel again with Toby, Raylan was successful in getting him through!

Raylan also got 4 faults from his obstacle course run, which means the teams are tied! We will need two more members of each team to be in the hot seat and run the obstacle course with Toby again

Estrello was chosen for Team Integrity, and although Estrello was more successful with Toby than Matteo, he still accrued 4 faults.

Marilyn was chosen for Team Odyssey, and unfortunately she did not have a good time with Toby. Although she managed to get him to jump on the platform, Toby fumbled through the ring and refused to go through the tunnel. Marilyn accrued 5 faults in her obstacle course run.

Which means that with a total of 9 faults for Team Odyssey to Team Integrity's 8...

"I just wanna say for the record that it's not my fault I got one more fault than everyone else. I went last and that dog was probably tired after having already done the obstacle course three times! Not to mention that dog isn't even trained! So, I just got super unlucky. I know I'm gonna get votes, but I shouldn't get eliminated all because some dog wouldn't listen to me! I've come way too far for that!"

Day 11 - Socialization Day

Welcome to another socialization day, where this time it was Ziggy's (OD) turn to set the kitchen ablaze and rudely awaken the entire plane!

Thankfully, Ziggy was able to put the fire out himself and he enjoyed breakfast a charred mess. At least Raylan (OD) was there to cheer him up with some funny videos after Ziggy cleaned himself up!

With Marilyn (OD) and Carson (IN) now in new teams, today is their chance to attempt to integrate with their new teammates. Marilyn started out by telling Minato (OD) a dramatic story, then laughed as Minato and Touma (OD) monkeyed around. I think she enjoys their dynamic! (I do too)

Meanwhile, Carson decided to try his luck with Avery (IN), who was hanging out in the mess hall like he was! Carson is not allowed in first class with the rest of the team, as he did not contribute to Team Integrity's win, so Team Integrity will also need to make an effort to interact with Carson outside of first class if they want to take advantage of having a new team member!

Raylan also made strides with his teammates by sharing funny videos with Minato and Nite (OD) too!

For those of you who want Matteo (IN) and Carson to be friends, good news! Matteo approached him this afternoon and like Raylan, showed him a funny video 😋

Alanna (IN) spent most of her day with Estrello (IN) and the PC in first class, but she too made an effort to interact with Carson today!

This evening, Marilyn decided to spend her dinnertime with Touma, but in the end... our beret club just can't help but interact with each other. They miss each other dearly and decided to share each other the funny videos each of their teams showed to them today.

So far, these two were successful with interacting with their new teammates, but with merge still a ways away, the real question is whether or not these two will be able to survive in their teams long enough to be reunited in the merge. We will see!

"I think it's awesome that we have a new team member! It just means a new person to hang out with, and I for one enjoyed hanging out with Marilyn today. I've seen how she's gotten around in Team Success, may it rest in peace, so I know she's gonna want to make friends too! She really has a way with swaying a crowd and making friends fast, and she's been pretty good at challenges, so I wanna try to be her friend so that our team can keep winning challenges!"

Day 14 - Challenge Day

2 weeks into the 3rd season of TDS, only two-thirds of our cast of 18 are still in the running. That's still more than half, of course, but the one-third of the cast that has already been eliminated is a sizeable chunk. Not to mention one of our teams has already dissolved! The plane is beginning to get less and less crowded...

We've ventured away from the city and have arrived in Forgotten Hollow! It's a pretty bright day for an otherwise gloomy and sleepy place. Legends say this neighborhood can get pretty dangerous at night for humans, since it's home to vampires. Thankfully, it's too sunny for any vampires to be roaming around, so our human contestants should be safe.

That isn't to say we won't have a good scare, though! In today's challenge, one member from each team will take turns grabbing a treat from a pair of trick-or-treat bowls. These aren't ordinary trick-or-treat bowls, though. Each time a treat is taken, the bowl will scare the treat-taker!

Here's the catch though: these bowls have several different jumpscares, and the teams will need to get two specific ones to receive points: either the zombie hand or the ghost. If a contestant gets any other jumpscare (mist or simply the candy flying out), it will not count. The team with the highest points wins invincibility and first class!

Also, our team numbers are even, so everyone is participating today!

Raylan (OD) and Estrello (IN) were chosen to go first! As you can see, Alanna (IN) is feeling pretty competitive today and urged Estrello to get the correct jumpscare. Lucky for him, he got a ghost! But Raylan also got a ghost, preventing Team Integrity from starting a lead. Both teams score a point!

As if TDS hadn't done our beret club dirty enough, the wheel of names have chosen for Carson (IN) and Marilyn (OD) to go against each other!! In the end though, Carson got the mist and Marilyn simply had candy flying out with no ghost or zombie hand, so neither of them score a point for their teams.

It was the same story for Nite (OD) and Matteo (IN), who both got the glowing mist. The teams remain tied at 1-1.

Things take a turn when Touma (OD) and Avery (IN) have their turns and both are met with zombie hands! The score increases to 2 for both teams.

When Ziggy (OD) and Alanna (IN) have their turns, at long last the tie between the teams was broken when only Ziggy got the correct jumpscare! He got a ghost while Alanna was stuck with the glowing mist. Team Odyssey takes the lead!

Last but not least, Tomiko (OD) and Elio (IN) have their turns and a similar outcome unfolds. Tomiko got the ghost, while Elio only had candy fly out. Tomiko has her treat knowing she just secured her team's win! The challenge ends with a score of 4-2!

Congratulations, Team Odyssey! You weren't gonna let Team Integrity have another win, so you've successfully won invincibility and taken back first class! You are all safe.

"I knew we had it in us to win and get first class back. Sure, we might not be the best singers, but we're good at many other things, and I know we aren't afraid of any ghosts or zombie hands! I thought the jumpscare was pretty funny."

Day 12 - Elimination Ceremony

Welcome Team Odyssey to your first ever elimination ceremony! After six entire challenges without a single loss, you were bested by the vocal talents of Team Integrity, and now that there's no Team Success to provide that 2nd place safety padding, it means it's (at long last) loser-woser-ville for you!

Who will be the first contestant to leave Team Odyssey? I can tell on all of your faces that after being safe from elimination for so long, I bet you thought this day would never come!

But invincibility is always temporary, my friends. After all, there will only be 1 winner of this competition. So, without further ado, let's get on to the votes!

Day 13 - Socialization Day

Goooood morning, everyone! Sorry for the rude awakening again; the plane almost blew up again thanks to Avery (IN) this time! 😜

No worries, Avery (and the plane) are ok and Elio (IN) and Estrello (IN) made sure to provide their moral support so Avery could feel better.

There was a lot of video-sharing happening on the plane today! Raylan (OD) had a good laugh with Nite (OD), and Elio, predictably, wanted to socialize with new-kid-on-the-block Carson (IN). Alanna (IN) and Avery were also interacting positively again, so I think it's safe to say that the little rift they had in Windenburg is behind them now ☺️

However, most significantly, Marilyn (OD) and Touma (OD) are becoming fast friends. With Minato now gone, these two may now be turning to each other to bounce back from the loss of their friend and ally... And we all know Marilyn needs to form bonds if she's gonna survive in this new team!

Later, Team Integrity all gathered in first class for an awesome hang-out party! It's Carson's first time in first class, so he's having an absolute BLAST! Matteo (IN), of course, could be found dancing away to METAL music. This sweet boy deserves it for doing so well in the last challenge!

At the game table, Estrello and Alanna challenged each other to a game of Don't Wake the Llama! Alanna was pretty confident in her skills, but Estrello was extra careful... Makes sense, because since he's a long-time fan of TDS, he would have seen Season 1's Don't Wake the Llama tournament! Is he being careful in case he will need to play this game for a challenge?

In the end, Alanna was a bit too confident, making Estrello the winner!

Despite Tomiko's sour mood from the fire this morning, she did very well socializing today! She talked with Raylan and Marilyn (again), which is perfect since they are now on the same team! Marilyn too was agitated from this morning's fire, and so she and Tomiko spent some time complaining about it together 😵‍💫

And last but not least, before going to bed, Raylan and Ziggy had some buddy time, with Raylan telling Ziggy a dramatic story!

"I realized that I haven't been doing the best job at talking with my teammates, so now that there's only 2 teams and we've already had to vote someone out, I wanna do better at socializing. I hadn't talked to Tomiko that much before, she's pretty reserved, but I saw her interacting with Marilyn too, so maybe she also wants to socialize more. If that's the case, I wanna see if maybe I can become friends with her."

Day 10 - Challenge Day

Humid tropical air... palm trees everywhere... and a sky as blue as sapphires... That can only mean one thing: we've landed in Tomarang!

One of Tomarang's cherished activities is the classic game of hopscotch! Therefore, for today's challenge we will be having a hopscotch contest.

One person from each team will be taking turns playing hopscotch. If they complete their round of hopscotch without fumbling, they will score a point for their team. Conversely, if someone fumbles, they're out and no point will be awarded.

The team with the highest score after 3 rounds (or more if any tiebreakers are necessary) wins invincibility and first class! And don't worry; this will be a regular elimination this time!

Let the first round begin! Brendan was selected from Team Success to go first. Although he had a confident start, he ended up fumbling and failed to score a point for the team.

Avery is first for Team Integrity. Although she struggled to keep her balance at first, she managed to successfully complete her hopscotch run, scoring the first point of the challenge!

Last but not least for round 1, Minato of Team Odyssey! He was doing well, making it all the way to the end, but shortly after he turned around he fumbled, leaving Team Odyssey without a point.

Round 1 ends with a score of 0 (Odyssey), to 0 (Success), to 1 (Integrity) Round 2 begins with a switch-up for Team Integrity and Team Odyssey. This time, it's Matteo who fumbles, leaving Team Integrity still at 1 point, while Tomiko expertly elevates Team Odyssey to 1 point with her successful hopscotch run! I had no doubt this outdoorsy kid wouldn't fumble.

However, Team Success also sees some success (finally) when Marilyn succeeded in completing her hopscotch run, successfully scoring a point for her team!

There's now a 3-way tie! Each team is sitting at 1 point. Raylan is chosen to represent Team Odyssey for round 3. Although he too almost lost his balance, he was successful in completing his run.

Alanna of Team Integrity and Carson of Team Success were also successful in their hopscotch runs, scoring a point for their teams! The 3-way tie remains, with the scores each at 2. That means we will need a tiebreaker round!

Brendan was randomly selected to go again for Team Success, while Elio and Nite were selected to represent Team Integrity and Team Odyssey for this tiebreaker round.

Elio and Nite were successful in their runs, but... unfortunately, Brendan most likely made the worst mistake in TDS history: he fumbled and failed to score a point for his team.

And you know what that means?

Since Team Success is the only team to not score a point, that means the team has lost this tiebreaker round and is therefore the sore loser of this challenge... And with the team down to just 3 people... It means it is officially the end of Team Success.

With Brendan's foot resting on space 11, he seals Team Success' fate for good... 😔

The score is now 3 for Team Integrity and Team Odyssey, while Team Success finishes at 2. We will need a 2nd tiebreaker round to determine the winner of this hopscotch contest!

Estrello and Ziggy were chosen to represent Team Integrity and Team Odyssey in this tiebreaker, and in the end it was only Estrello who successfully completed his run, scoring the win for Team Integrity! The final score is 3 (Odyssey), to 2 (Success), to 4 (Integrity)

Congratulations Team Integrity on your 2nd victory! You have earned first class and of course, invincibility.

Team Odyssey, you are also safe for coming in 2nd place, but will stay in economy class.

And Team Success... Wow. I have no words other than you have officially become the worst-performing team in TDS history, and will become the first team ever to completely dissolve.

All 3 of you will be leaving the team in some way. One of you will be eliminated, and the remaining 2 will be separated and each joining the remaining teams. I will see you at this special elimination ceremony!

Day 17 - Elimination Ceremony

Good morning, Team Odyssey! Well, I guess maybe "bad morning," since y'know... eliminating someone isn't exactly "good." 🤭 Sadly, you just BARELY lost the challenge and now, you must send someone off the plane

I know you're all tired, and in Ziggy's case, stinky, so we'll go straight to the voting!

This was an interesting vote. It was split perfectly between Touma and Ziggy! 3 votes for Touma; 3 votes for Ziggy. So, because of our tied vote, our handy-dandy random number generator was deployed to choose which of these two unfortunate contestants will leave the plane. The result is under the cut:

Day 16 - Challenge Day

If you were hoping we'd make our way around to Henford-On-Bagley, then today's your lucky day! It was a long flight, but we've finally made it to the rolling hills of this countryside region!

A local gardener as enlisted our help in the care of two oversized pumpkins. They're almost fully-grown, but the gardener is on vacation and won't be home in time to harvest their crops!

That's where our challenge comes in. The teams will spend 24 hours off-the-grid in these makeshift cabins we built, doing their best to not just survive, but also to take care of the oversized pumpkins! The pumpkins will be harvested after the 24 hours are over, and the team that has the heaviest pumpkin will win first class and invincibility!

Today's Confessional: Alanna Castillo

"Oh my goodness, I think this challenge- and this neighborhood- is gonna give me so many ideas for my writing. I can feel the gears in my head starting to turn! I'm imagining there's this country girl living in a cabin like the ones we'll have, and she makes her living growing oversized pumpkins! Ugh! It's such a cute idea for a character, I wish I had paper so I can write all this stuff down!"

Our 24 hours begin with both teams taking initiative on the pumpkins! Estrello (IN) and Raylan (OD) water them both to ensure proper hydration

The pumpkins don't need constant supervision, so in a way this challenge is essentially a bonus socialization day too! Matteo (IN), of course, made sure to entertain himself with some singing, which attracted most of the contestants to Team Integrity's cabin to hear him! It got pretty crowded in there... The cabins are pretty tiny 😂

Meanwhile, Marilyn (OD) decided to spend her time exploring the neighborhood and came across a white fox! Nite (OD) caught up with her and the two had a nice time observing the fox together

Marilyn and Nite eventually returned to their cabin and spent time with Touma (OD). Meanwhile, Alanna (IN) and Estrello (IN) spent most of their day together (with Nite observing approvingly). These two have been spending a lot of time together lately and have been getting very close!

However, things aren't looking so bright for Elio (IN). They've been feeling dizzy and within the last few hours they developed swirly rashes all over their skin... Seems to me that Elio is sick!

Normally, we cure any illnesses right away with our generous stock of medicine, but since we're in an off-the-grid challenge and not in the plane, Elio will have to deal with their illness until the challenge ends... Team Integrity gave Elio a free pass on challenge participation and had them rest on one of the beds inside the cabin

As I said before, the cabins are tiny, so we were only able to fit 2 beds inside each cabin. With not enough beds for everyone, the teams have to make important decisions on who sleeps and who doesn't. Marilyn goes inside to find that both beds are occupied, while Matteo was quick to claim a bed for himself so he wouldn't lose out on beauty sleep 😴

In the end, morning eventually comes and the teams ended up sleeping in shifts so everyone could get some sleep. Tomiko (OD) is awake bright and early to make some salad for herself! She eventually joins Nite in caring for their team's pumpkin one last time before the 24 hours are up.

Meanwhile in Team Integrity, it was Matteo who volunteered to care for his team's pumpkin!

RESULTS:

WOW! This result is EXTREMELY close, but in the end...

Day 18 - Elimination Ceremony

Our elimination ceremony was slightly delayed, because as soon as we boarded the plane... Tomiko passed out! Guess she didn't get enough sleep last night 😜

But nevertheless, it's time for another elimination ceremony! Team Odyssey is here for the 2nd time in a row. The last time a team was here twice (or more) in a row, Team Success still existed, so I think they're feeling pretty sorry for themselves...

Without further ado, let's find out who will be next to leave the plane!

Day 15 - Socialization Day

Welcome to another socialization day, friends! Marilyn's (OD) in first class for the first time, but she's pretty sad over the elimination of Carson, her closest friend on the show. Marilyn is now the only former member of Team Success still in the running.

Thankfully, Team Odyssey helped her feel better. Marilyn had a fun conversation with Tomiko (OD) and Nite (OD) while Tomiko trolled teh forums again 😂

Next, Marilyn took advantage of first class' amenities, first by practicing Don't Wake the Llama and then jamming out to METAL music to finally fill up her what has been a chronically-low fun need.

Meanwhile, since Team Integrity is in loser class, Matteo (IN) took it upon himself to entertain his team once again and sang some songs, which delighted Elio (IN), Alanna (IN), and even Marilyn who got curious!

After exercising his vocal cords, Matteo showed funny videos to the ladies of Team Integrity and then hung out with his usual buddy Elio ☺️

Marilyn also took advantage of this socialization day and chatted with more of her teammates! She had some fun spending time with Ziggy (OD) and Raylan (OD), and then joked around with Tomiko again in the mess hall!

Meanwhile, in front of the mess hall by the first class door, Alanna and Avery decided to be silly and goofed off together 😜

While Tomiko was dancing it out in first class, Touma (OD) complimented her dance moves, to which Tomiko seemed to appreciate ☺️ Tomiko is feeling more and more comfortable by the day; she hardly gets tense anymore!

Last but not least, we finish our socialization day with Estrello (IN) and Elio having an upbeat late-night chat!

Today's Confessional: Nite Crowe

"It's no wonder Marilyn is popular at school! She's super likeable and cool, and she makes sure everyone knows it! I totally think that's why she was able to survive Team Success. Everyone liked her so much that they just didn't want to vote her off! I need some more friends, and I know Tomiko does too, so hopefully the three of us can all be friends!"

Day 17 - Socialization Day

As expected, the cast is exhausted after sleeping in shifts last night during the challenge, So it's no brainer that immediately after the elimination ceremony, several contestants decided just to nap right where they were sitting (Tomiko (OD) made sure to actually seek out a bed though)

Meanwhile in first class, Team Integrity were a little more high-energy; after all, they only have guaranteed access to first class for just today, so they need to make the most of it before the next challenge tomorrow! Estrello (IN) decompressed by playing some video games, while Matteo (IN), Avery (IN), and Elio (IN) all had an enriching conversation together 💜

After having a restful nap, Nite (OD) was visited by Marilyn (OD) in the elimination ceremony room! Nite is clearly a Marilyn-enjoyer, and so Marilyn might be seeking out her friendship to make up for the loss of her newest buddy Touma. As we've seen in the past, Marilyn is quick to seek new connections when she needs them!

On the flip side, Alanna (IN) and Avery don't have a hard time expressing their longer-term connection; these goofy girls absolutely adore each other!

Same goes for Elio and Matteo. At dinner, Elio sat with Matteo and told him just how wonderful, talented, and amazing friend he is. I think it's pretty clear Matteo feels the same about Elio!

Later, things go awry when Alanna gets frustrated over her sleep deprivation and throws a tantrum on live TV!! She's exhausted and makes sure the viewers at home know about it!

Doing what Team Integrity does best, her teammates and friends Avery and Matteo both help make her feel better by showing funny videos. Then, Alanna took her usual place on the computer to decompress to some video games

After some time, Estrello encouraged Alanna to get some sleep (tomorrow's another challenge, after all!) and, trusting Estrello's judgement, did as she was told and got cozy in bed 😴

Before heading off to bed, Tomiko and Raylan (OD) ended up connecting in the elimination ceremony room! They talked for a while and ended up being the last two contestants to go to bed

Today's Confessional: Elio Alvoretter

"Yesterday's challenge was rough; it's a miracle we won! The challenge definitely seemed more up Odyssey's alley. I've gotta be honest, I wasn't too confident we'd be able to win, but maybe I need to put more faith in my teammates when it comes to outdoorsy challenges. Just because Team Odyssey has historically done better with them doesn't mean we can't also be good at them, right? This is Team Integrity, and I think if we truly believe we'll win, we actually will win."

"So, while we're all over here dealing with sleep deprivation, I'm gonna believe that we will win tomorrow's challenge too!"
