Preloader vs. Skeleton Screens: What are the differences?

Both preloaders and skeleton screens are used to manage user expectations during loading times, but they differ in how they look, how they work, and the experience they create.

Going through the undertale encyclopedia and was reminded about how much i love this line.. hes gotta be talking about gaster here right??? Cause it makes no sense for him to be talking about flowey since he's not met flowey at this point in time (at least as far as HE remembers. Floweys met him plenty.) And yeah sure he could be talking generally like flowey does at the end of pacifist ("there's alot of floweys out there") but the phrasing and emphasis put on it feels intentional (like most things in these games do..) and we have very little information on why gaster is sharing deltarune with us (afaik. Gaster heads feel free to chime in) so my thinking is that his 'goal' with deltarune will quite literally be curiosity and scientific desire (perhaps originally it was something else, much like how charas original goal was to free monster kind and became a desire for power)

Most of my interpretation of gaster comes from his little speech here. The rest are much more baseless and headcanony- such as the very specific belief that gaster is going to mirror kris in some way. kris wanted to be a monster so I think another 'goal' of gasters ( if it isint just curiosity about us as an eldritch being hes studying) will be to become 'human'. Not in the way kris or frisk are human, but in the way WE are human. Able to affect the world on another level. Jevil looses his belief in reality when exposed to the truth, and spamton tries to reach above and move onto 'heaven' so If gaster knows about us because at some point he also learned the truth of the world then I'm thinking that each of the next bosses will in some way mirror his decent into where he is now(wherever that is). Think each secret boss being a step in the cycle of grief except it's not grief and theirs seven steps and it's all a reflection of this one's guys mental breakdown that he's either over or still experiencing. So I'm like 80% positive the next boss is going to be the 'type' of person sans describes in his no mercy speech. Or the one after that.

I'm 10k words deep into the next chapter and I just checked where I am on my plot page (that is solely plot for this specific chapter) and I'm..... I'm on page 4. Of 16. Page fucking 4 out of 16. It's already at 10k I can't do this man.

These are circa 2021 when a dear friend suggested watching Scary Godmother's animated movie. I gotta confess: until then I never knew the existence of it... and less that it was based on a series of short stories and comic books! I fell COMPLETELY IN LOVE with the characters and setting and AAA

But especially, what held tight to my heart was the narrative of this amazing writer and illustrator, @jillthompson , creating this whole fantasy world to make "friends with the scary side" and reveal that even monsters fear and can be your best allies ♥

I'm so glad I found her work, it keeps inspiring me to reach that level of love for storytelling and to never be afraid to show the themes and aesthetics that move us deeply!

PS Those last pics portray a grown-up Hannah Marie based on Miss Thompson's concept art she showed in one of the books.

you know, i hate that star wars lately loves to mention or make references to Alderaan but never gives us more deepness of it

like let me explain, we got a whole Alderaanian survivor in Mandalorian 1 and 2, Alderaan mentioned serveral times. we got Andor and again just a tiny mention of Alderaan. The Acolyte gaved us another Alderaanian character, a jedi, born there. I'm not sure if count this but Ahsoka got Leia "behind scenes". If I'm not wrong, even Tales of the Jedi and Bad Batch mentions Alderaan. Now Skeleton Crew also mentions Alderaan.

And I don't hate it because I don't like it, I do like it, but Alderaan is supposed to be an important, a really big thing in the Republic Alderaan had the power to turned the entire senate and was one the founding worlds of the old Republic, was important even during the Empire because was one of the most important planets into the rebelion, and is importan even now during the New Republic, even if gone, cuz Star Wars could acknowledge what does it means and how the destruction of one of the most important planet in the Republic/Empire affects the galaxy, but they don't do it
