CW I guess for an anatomical term? Oh and mention of theoretical pregnancy loss (in a dog)

A couple came in with their French bulldog wanting a nail trim. I was chatting with them and they mentioned they’re pretty sure she’s pregnant (her nipples were very clearly engorged, I noticed as soon as they walked in, so yeah she probably is). I told the groomer because we’re not allowed to perform services on pregnant dogs because we don’t want to stress them out. But once they found out we can’t take pregnant dogs they were insisting she’s not. I sooo wanted to call them on it and say “Really? Because five seconds ago you told me you’re pretty sure she is. So were you lying then or are you lying now?” but of course we can’t actually call them liars 🙄🙄🙄

Thankfully they didn’t have her rabies paperwork and it wasn’t in our system, so we couldn’t take her anyway, but like. This policy is in place for YOUR DOG’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING you stupid bitch. Pregnancy is stressful enough on the body as-is, if she gets too stressed she could lose the puppies, and SmartPet is *smart* enough to not wanna risk that liability. I just feel bad for the poor dog.

Titanian: Corpulent, furry human variant adapted to extremely cold environments; initially developed to better withstand the harsh conditions of Titan, Saturn’s icy moon, but have since spread to other frozen worlds; typically inhabit pressurized underground tunnel cities carved into the ice.

Spaceborne: Tall, lanky variant with prehensile feet and tails, optimized for life in microgravity; one of the oldest variant groups, created during the earliest days of the first interstellar age; designed to live aboard long-distance exploration/colonization vessels.

Trigger warning dead fish

So I went to two chains today on the hunt for a betta.

I was at my second stop smartpets and I couldn't find the bettas. They were on a cart by the front.. because apparently the doors were broken and they were too cold in the mid front of store display. They figured they'd be happier stacked three high on a cart right in the first aisle by the front doors.

I found 7 dead fish on that cart and put them on the fish area podium right in front of the lady cleaning the tanks who saw and ignored me. Probably from freezing to death or stress of being stacked three high and being able to see all the other betta fish.

I picked out a very sticky lil dude and while he was going to be a rehab/hospice situation he did not make the trip home.

RIP my little buddy. I paid 11$ for maybe 20 minutes with you... .50 cents a minute to be exact.

They're demanding I bring lil dude back to the store for a refund which I'm not going to do against my better judgement of giving them a free 11$... I think I'd rather bury lil dude myself and give his horrible life a peaceful end.

He kinda looks like a Simon, no?

I'm going to go cry my eyes off now.
