#So him being buddy-buddy with Marinette is so funny to me

Had a weird Miraculous Dream last night. Basically an AU where Marinette was still a sorta "guardian" of the Miraculous. But instead of being sources of power to channel the magic of the kwamis and their universal power, the Miraculous were more like prisons or containment for incredibly powerful and malevolent beings. And Marinette was having to fight the kwamis whenever they appeared since most of them had escaped and now were threatening havoc across Paris. She already had a few under her control, mainly Tikki, Mullo, and Trixx. And in my dream she used Trixx's power to hide the fact she was transformed and let herself get pinned by Xuppu, catch his staff, and somehow turn his power against him to defeat Xuppu. And once defeated the kwamis would begrudgingly join up with Mari in a sorta "You defeated me in combat and you hold an item of power over me so I owe you my servitude...".

Also among the kwamis, other powerful beings were also appearing and needing the same treatment. Mainly several transformers characters, including Shockwave, who actually willingly joined up with Marinette. In a kinda "You have impressed me, small organic creature. I will assist you in your goals for the betterment of both are kinds. It is the only logical action." And instead of having a miraculous, Shockwave would turn into a card for easy transport and calling upon him when needed. Since powerful creatures being turned into trading cards to be summoned makes my brain go BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRR!!!

Okay but what's crazy is that the episode does subtly reveal that Adrien did keep it a secret from Marinette that he's more than silent jogging buddies with Sublime

In the beginning, Marinette says that when she asked Adrien if he and Sublime talk when they go running he always says "no". This is factually correct as we find out in the end through Sublime:

But there is obviously something not adding up here. Sublime literally says "Outside of running, of course Adrien and I talk". They just arent talking in any of their morning runs because Sublime in particular is doing it as serious training. So no talking because that would impact their breathing, but outside of that? Well, yeah, duh.

And that makes sense

Adrien and Sublime are in the same ancient Greek class, of course they would talk. I'm gonna go with the assumption that this is why Sublime started running by his side, because they vaguely knew each other from Greek class and when they crossed each others running paths one morning they were familiar enough to just run together in silence

Look, I- I dont know how to put this more elegantly, so I'll rip off the bandaid. The vibes I'm getting from this episode are that Adrien was more than cool with not talking anyway because he deliberately keep his friendship with Sublime a secret from Marinette because he knew Marinette would be weird about it and that made him uncomfortable.

He knows his girlfriend and she's peanut-butter-and-jealous.

And the thing is, as much as this certainly is a complicated topic with a lot of factors to consider for both sides, the way the episode had Marinette go about all this...

... the episode proved him RIGHT. He was right to be too uncomfortable with letting Marinette know about being friends with Sublime. She merely found out that they were running together in silence and proceeded to not only keep watching them each morning and taking photos, Marinette even proceeded to stalk the hell out Sublime:

No, this isnt normal. This isnt a "quirky girlfriend" thing to do, or "funny haha". Its one of the reason why Adrien didnt feel comfortable letting her know.

And, I mean, yeah. I can't blame him for it, can I? :I

Later on, Sublime is very quick to piece together that the girl hiding behind them is Adrien's girlfriend. Not the thing I would immediately go with, unless of course Adrien did already vaguely mention having a girlfriend to Sublime at one point. Then yes, her coming to this conclusion after Marinette followed her all day makes a lot more sense. Even if those are not.. nice implications. The episode does go on playing it straight at first that Marinette is the weird and a bit alarming girlfriend.

Look, you can pretty this up if you like, but for me, Adrien is clearly a solid bit uncomfortable and very apologetic here to Sublime because of Marinette's behavior. Sublime too is being nice about it to a degree you shouldnt take for granted. She would have had been perfectly justified in saying something else entirely. Adrien is trying to be a good boyfriend about this, but Marinette is out here proving him right in having struggled with wanting her to know about Sublime. Marinette has been following her around all day, Sublime noticed, and Adrien is doing good faith damage control here by telling Sublime that Marinette has good intentions and only wants to be her friend.

Something, though, that the episode clarified 3 times wasnt really the case:

It is so weird that at the core of the problem for both sides of Adrinette WAS Marinette being peanut-butter-and-jealous.

Marinette did NOT try to befriend Sublime out of some pure-hearted desire to know her. She did so because she feared that Adrien could end up not loving her anymore if she doesnt gain some control over the Sublime situation real quick

And Adrien DID keep his friendship with Sublime a secret from Marinette because, well, was he wrong?

And thats the thing. The episode just DROPS this in favor of saying that Marinette only had these pure-hearted intentions to know her when that isnt true. The episode proved Adrien alarmingly RIGHT in his gut feeling to keep Sublime a secret from Marinette, they just-

They just didnt let him know about any of it as if that makes it any less true. I would understand it if this episode had been entirely about tackling this issue for good. Adrien not being wrong for feeling uncomfortable with letting Marinette know about any new female friends and then Adrien gets proven right, but the situation is saved by Marinette's secondary desire of befriending Sublime.

Sure, not the plot of my choice, but I would GET IT because it would actually cover the given problem. Here it is... they didnt do it. Adrien was proven right, Marinette did everything wrong to Sublime that was possible and ended up breaking her prosthetic and ruined the sponsorship with a combo of Marinette's and Ladybug's harmful inconsideration.

Marinette did exactly what Adrien was afraid of... and they just DON'T resolve the initial Adrinette core of this issue. It's still ongoing. Marinette didnt even get to react in the end to finding out that Adrien did keep her in the dark about talking to Sublime:

I guess for now the explanation for that will be that Adrinette switched positions in this for once and now it's Marinette who isnt questioning it enough that Adrien only said the truth to her going by the technicality of "She only ask him if they talk while running".

Obviously, this is not how it works. He kept her in the dark. And whether he was right to doing so or not isnt important for the feeling I'm getting that this is just the beginning of a streak of similar problems like this. The postponed resolution to this will happen at a later point, and knowing Miraculous, they'll do it after it escalates to hell.

We already saw it in "Illustrhater" and the synopsis for "Werepapas" for example also sounds like Marinette will not stop here being a questionable girlfriend

I’ll be honest, this is mostly just because I imagine the method of digivolucion in this AU to be dodgeballing culumon at people and I just find that funny.

Along with that, it was generally my first pick. It’s cute, it’s important, and most of all it gives marinette an interesting role while also giving other characters a way to shine in fights.

And also Marinette would be the first person to make lil outfits for the partners and you know it.

This one was obvious. Give destruction boy the hazard dragon what could go wrong.(also yes guilmon is a dragon to me I will fight you.)

Also fits with Adrien being a senti and guilmon being created by Takato. Both were created by means outside of the norm.

The reason I chose savers Agumon over adventure Agumon? Because I wanted to. And also to match Nino.

Hello! I found this small but really interesting ask about some comments Alya made in Origins about Adrien that Imthepunchlord answered a long while ago, and I’d love to also hear your thoughts on the points that they and the asker brought up! Please feel free to put your thoughts directly in a reblog if you like the post enough to add to it instead of answering this ask since that would probably be convoluted.

I don't have much to add. @imthepunchlord summed the issue up really well at the end of their post, "what is 'in character' is up for debate most of the time."

These kinds of character analysis questions just aren't possible in Miraculous. The characters are wildly inconsistent, so you're not taking a well crafted story and pointing out how it all flows together. You're taking a slapdash story and twisting yourself into a pretzel to try to make it all make sense. Hard pass. That's why I just focus on the character's core and ignore a lot of the nonsense that canon pulls. It's not that I want to deny canon. It's that you cannot embrace all of canon and write a good story.

However, you all know that I love to play fix it, so let's give Alya some sugar and talk about how you can write her character to make her reactions to Adrien make a little more sense. I don't think that canon has thought her through this much, but this approach really fits her character and I love it! For those who don't want to follow the link to the original ask, we're looking at this bit of dialogue:

Marinette: Okay. I get it. Good job, you three. Very funny. Adrien: No, no, I was just trying to take this off! Marinette: Oh, really? You're friends with Chloé, right? Adrien: Why do people keep saying that? (Marinette huffs; he goes to his seat) Chloé: Now do you see what I mean about respect? Marinette: I know I've seen him somewhere before. (sees images of Gabriel and Adrien Agreste on Alya's cellphone) Of course! He's the son of my fave fashion designer, Gabriel Agreste! Alya: Daddy's boy, teen supermodel, AND Chloé's buddy? Ha! Forget it.

And trying to make sense of how Alya goes from this to being the head of team Adrienette. The obvious answer is that something happens off screen between Origins and the main part of canon, but let's go a little deeper than that.

A lot of people approach Alya as a reporter. A truth seeker. A fact finder. That approach isn't wrong, it may even be how canon wants you to read her, but it's not the approach that I like to take. Whenever I have time to really flesh Alya out, I go a slightly different route.

To me, Alya is a story teller. She wants the stories she tells to be accurate, but she can easily get caught up in a narrative and forget to take a moment to check her facts. A good reporter watching the above exchange would go, "If Adrien is a bully, then why did he protest his innocence? What's the real story? Who can I talk to in order to get the facts?"

A story teller may still do that, but they may also take Chloé's earlier bullying along with Adrien being Chloé's friend and come up with a very believable story about Adrien being "Daddy's boy, teen supermodel, AND Chloé's buddy." It fits the facts that the story teller knows and they don't have a reporter's instinct question everything. They'll only start to question their version of the story once a hard fact pops up that goes against the story.

The reason I like this approach is that Alya is the chosen of Illusions. That's not a great fit for a truth seeker. Illusions is a much better fit for someone who is drawn to stories. A person who values the truth, but who isn't driven by it. A good reporter is driven by truth. A good story teller is driven by the call of a good story.

If we take that approach and look at Alya's actions in Origins, then we see that she had a story in her head and was happy to fit the pieces into that story until Adrien did something that no longer fit the story. That's when the "ask questions, get the real story" instinct kicked in, leading her to discover that she'd misjudged Adrien. It would have been nice to see that happening on screen, but Origins didn't have time for that so we're just left wondering what changed Alya's mind and making up various stories to explain it.

You can also take Origins and use it as the start of an arc where Alya learns to be a better reporter by not jumping to conclusions since she does a lot of jumping to conclusions in season one (and even does it on occasion in later seasons). But you don't need to give every character a strong character arc like that and I enjoy letting Alya be solid as-is. I tend to tone down her jumping to conclusions issues and make her more open to giving things a second look.

This is extra true because Marinette has a pretty clear problem with snap judgments, so I don't want her and Alya to have the same flaw. I want Alya to be more unique in her flaws. It's not that she jumps to conclusions, it's that she's a little too quick to stop asking questions once she has a believable narrative. It's in the same vein as Marinette, but still it's own thing. It's also still a flaw that Alya needs to work on, but in a more nuanced way where it also acts as a strength under the right circumstances such as when she's in the field and needs to come up with illusions on the fly.

I cannot say if this is what canon is trying to do with Alya. The bones of this read are there, but the bones of the reporter read are also there. I just like this read more. It doesn't drastically change Alya, it's just a minor nuance that makes her fit into her place in the story with a little more grace.

Mr. Bug and Cait Sith AU | Part IV

Going back to the hospital with Marinette's parents was probably the worst thing Luka had ever done in his whole life.

Looking at Marinette's beautiful face full of confusion and distress because the adrenaline of the moment wore off and she finally realized he did not remember anything at all and not being able to hold her hand and kiss her worries away burned like hell. Not being able to support Adrien as he forced himself into the responsible and serious hero role, drowning in his sorrow inside of his mind, just worsened Luka's state. His heart keeps singing a requiem to his old life, it's almost funny how fast everything changes.

They left her with her parents, who looked as lost if not even more than her, knowing they couldn't under any circumstance tell her anything about the truths they just found out about, trying to console a stranger wearing the skin of their beloved daughter.

Mr. Bug and Viperion land on the balcony of their apartment, and as soon as they call off their transformation, Adrien throws himself onto Luka and hugs him like he was scared the snake holder would disappear. The blond sobs and ugly cries (even when Luka is convinced that Adrien couldn't look ugly if he tried) hiding his face on his fiancé's chest.

"I'm so sorry, this is all my fault" the blue haired man hears him say "Forgive me, please?"

"Adrien," Luka sounds tired, and looks like he aged a hundred years. "Love, please stop blaming yourself."

He doesn't reply, so the older one sighs and guides him inside the apartment. The balcony is connected to the living room, Luka takes both of them to the couch, so he can hug and kiss Adrien's cheeks trying to confort him the best he can. He can't count how many times he tells him that he doesn't blame him, but Adrien seems to be deaf to his confort and it is starting to make him feel angry instead, but he bottles it up, Adrien needs him more.

After what seems an eternity, Adrien takes Luka's hand, his warmth suddenly overwhelming when the luthier notices something cold in de middle of it. Blue eyes drift down and his owner loses his breath when he sees a black ring with a noen green paw, it feels too heavy.

"Adrien, I can't..."

"Please" His beautiful green eyes are full of tears once again "Please, I can't do it without a black cat, and I can't trust Plagg with anyone else".

It burns, Luka hates it.

"What is going to happen to Sass?" His voice is so low, almost inaudible, he is about to cry too.

"Keep him, not actively, but we can't afford people to know we lost Viperion too, you will have to be Viperion sometimes" It's a bad idea, Luka thinks, after spending all that time training with the guardians, having two miraculous is risky, but he can't lose Sass too, so he nods.

They are so tired.

Adrien takes the ring and holds Luka's hand, sliding the piece of jewelry on his finger. Luka laughs to choke down a sob.

Plagg comes out of the ring.

"I'm sorry, buddy," Adrien apologizes immediately "This is all--"

Plagg hugs him, his tiny paws on his cheek. "It's okay, kitten, you don't have to apologize."

"I love you, Plagg." Adrien scratches his head with his finger, and the kwami starts purring in an attempt to confort his former holder.

This is all too sad, and Luka can barely handle it. He breathes in and remembers the meditations he learned. Breathe in, breath out.

"I think it would be a good idea if you transformed here," Adrien says after talking to Plagg, a short conversation his boyfriend missed because he was too busy trying to keep his emotions in check "Just to try, think what can be your hero name and all that".

He tries to sound enthusiastic, Luka smiles, because he appreciates the effort, and he decides to humor him.

"Alright, but be careful. You might fall in love with me if I'm too handsome. "

"I think it's too late for that."

The luthier concentrates. Being Chat Noir was a huge deal. Chat Noir is Ladybug's partner, his other half, through the course of history, the ladybug, and the black cat have been fighting side to side, bringing out the best version of eachother, destined to meet, destined to create a bond stronger than anything else. Chat Noir must be there for Ladybug to support her, to protect her. Chat Noir is a responsibility. If Ladybug can't fail to the world, Chat Noir can't fail Ladybug.

"Plagg, claws out!" Luka calls for the transformation, and in a flash, there he is, a perfectly nice, neatly dressed black cat, with--

"Luka, detrasform" Adrien sounds... displeased for some reason, which throws him off, but he still does as he says.

"There's something wrong?" He feels confused and rejected, maybe he regrets giving him the ring, maybe he...

"You're thinking too much, kid" Plagg sounds very irritated "You're giving me a headache! Adrien, I will need three times my usual portion of camembert if he is going to think so loudly all the time!"

"Plagg, please, be nice, he is trying." Adrien rolls his eyes, then he extends his hand to caress Luka's cheek. "But he is kinda right, you know? I get this is a lot to process, but being Chat Noir to me was about freedom. This transformation felt so... calculated, I know you're usually our rock, that you never allow yourself to feel, but I would like for you to just feel this time, everything, you're sad and angry, we lost Mari today and we will try to get her back, but that doesn't mean it won't hurt for a long while, welcome all those things and try again."

Luka is speechless. He looks alternatively to Adrien and the ring. His heart beats fast. He closes his eyes and feels.

Sadness, anger, disappointment, resentment. He is powerless. It burns. His heart is burning.

"Plagg, claws out!" Luka calls the transformation again. He is aware of every little change occurring this time. His mind is getting dominated by his emotions.

Adrien is speechless. This transformation is entirely different from the last one: this is genuine, but also feral.

Luka's hair grows a little with his transformation, and now is messy. The usually teal tips now match the glowing green from his cat eyes that make Adrien lose his breath. They look so hostile, but he would never be afraid of Luka. His fangs are longer than his own when he transforms. He looks like he could bite off someone's finger without that much effort. He wears a leather jacket with chains and spikes, black cargo pants, and black combat boots. His tail is a spiked belt, and Adrien can't help but think about his alternate version for a second. Luka's claws are sharp, sharper than a knife, they look scary, his gloved hand isn't very welcoming, and he knows Luka will need to be careful if he doesn't want to hurt someone with those things.

He is missing the bell. He is not a house cat, it seems.

"You're... gorgeous, Luka" He is not a family friendly hero, they won't be getting invitations to talk shows and kids will be intimidated by those eyes full of rage, but to Adrien he is still the best man who ever existed.

"Cait Sith," He corrects, almost sounding like a growl. "My name is Cait Sith."

I'm actually really excited to see Marinette, Juleka, and Rose on a hero team together, and we will hopefully interact more as civilians since, for a long time, I felt that going off more realistic friendships, those 3 would have been an interesting trio. Marinette does have common interests with both of them. Marinette and Juleka both have an interest in fashion that goes hand in hand. Marinette wants to design and make clothes, and Juleka wants to be a model (though apparently, in season 5, she says she wants to become a mortician when she grows up, which was probably just said cause she's goth, but maybe she could do both). Marinette and Rose actually seem to have a lot of common interests, like pink, cute things, and stuffed animals, and both are pretty artsy (Rose is in the art club, and in Darkblade, she is said to enjoy scrapbooking). Plus, the show implies Rose and Juleka have known each other and been friends for a long time (with Rose being the only one to know about Juleka's photo curse in Reflectka), so it wouldn't surprise me that Marinette could have befriended one and the other was brought in later.

What's kinda funny is that I've talked about this before with my Discord buddies. As a lot of friends that become and stay friends is usually through shared interests. Not to say it's always so but that's the usual.

And a friendship between Juleka, Marinette, and Rose does make sense as, yeah, they share interest. Also Rose's interest in perfumes overlaps with fashion.

Alya and Marinette, I actually couldn't think of much they had in common. Most of what they talk about is Adrien and plans to confess, and occasionally hero stuff. From what I see of her concept art, Alya did seem to have some interest in fashion (not as much as Marinette and maybe early Chloe?). Shame that was removed as that really could've solidified their friendship.

Additionally, there are other friendships I'm surprised I don't see.

Nino's interested in film and Mylene has an interest in acting, shouldn't they be close buddies? Adrien also has a knack for it so that could be another trio. The movie also had Nino as a skateboarder, so that could open up him being friends with Alix too.

Nathaniel likes comic book heroes like Alya, that's something that could've connected them. Could've been funny to see Alya pestering Nathaniel to draw their herosonas.

Video game wise, Max should be friends with Adrien and Marinette.

Speaking of Adrien, he does basketball and fencing. Shouldn't we see who's on those teams? Also does he know and worked with other teen models? He can't be the only one in Paris. And given he's rich and friends with the mayor's daughter, shouldn’t he be apart of an elitist group? Know others in Paris than just Chloe? Especially as it is canon that the rich parents want their kids to know other rich kids.

Danny was heading to the lunchroom when he saw Tucker getting harassed by Dash. Danny rushed over to his best friend and bully.

"Guys wait, violence is never the answer," Danny told the two.

"Well, look who's finally here. I have been waiting for you, Fenton," Danny closed his eye, waiting for Dash to hurt him, but nothing happened. "No, seriously, we've been saving your seat for ten minutes. So where have you been, buddy?" Dash asked.

Is Dash being nice? Something must be wrong here. Did he eat the bad meat again, or bumped his head or something? He took his set, and the football team came over to Tucker and started to cheer for him. He picked up a newspaper and saw himself in football gear throwing a football.

"Fenton throws the winning pass?" Danny questioned. "Throws? Winning... Fenton?"

This made him question this even more before his Ghost Sense went off. He saw that it was the Fright Knight on his sted Nightmare.

"Danny, outside the Fright Knight," Dash pointed at the ghost.

"Why are you telling me?" Danny started to sweat

"Duh, because you have ghost powers," he said like it was obvious.

As the students of Casper High began to cheer Danny on, he transformed and phased out of the building.

"Hey, Fright But! You know the freezing point of metal?" Danny fired an ice blast from his hands, froze the Fright Knight, and caught him in the Fenton Thermos. "I'm getting an A+ in science because of Marinette, so that rhetoric question."

Danny phased back into the lunchroom as the students cheered for his victory. But Danny thinks something is wrong because he knows that the Fright Knight should have been tougher than that.

"It must be nice, Fenton being a superhero and having a harem of girls being all lovesick for ya," Dash said.

"Sounds like someone's tired of taking his cousin to all the dances," Tucker quipped.

"She's my mom, sister's stepdaughter," Dash said, annoyed by Tucker's comment.

"Come on, guys, there is only one girl for me," Danny said.

"I'm hoping that you're talking about me," Sam came up with a lettermen jacket on her with his name stitched on the upper pocket.

"Sam!?" Danny said in surprise. "I thought you were still in Paris for the student exchange program?" Danny was now confused about why she was there now.

"Yeah, but I came back early. So can you make room for your girlfriend?" she asked.

"Girlfriend? But Marinette is my girlfriend. So what is going on here, Sam?" Danny asked, feeling this was getting weird.

"Danny, I thought you dreamt of being with me?" Sam questioned him.

"I did at one point, but when Marinette showed up, I began to have feelings for her. She is smart, pretty, and funny. I might have asked you to be my girlfriend if you weren't sent to Paris. Or I realized my feelings for you earlier, but I love you as my best friend, and no one can take that away from us," Danny said as the world became static, and he woke up on a rock in the Ghost Zone.

"Danny, I'm glad you woke up! Everyone is in trouble now!" Tikki float right next to him.

"Hey, your Marinette's Kwami, right?" Danny asked.

"Yes, I'm Tikki, the Kwami of creation. It's nice to meet you, Danny Fenton," she greeted.

"It's nice to meet you, Tikki. What is happening, and why are we in the Ghost Zone?" Danny asked.

"Well, Danny. Marinette was about to sleep before getting attacked by a ghost that put her to sleep. After that, I went to find you, but you were nowhere in sight before I saw a ghost that looked like a starry sky taking you to that big machine in the basement. I tried to wake you up but couldn't because of the helmet on your head," Tikki explained.

"That ghost that looks like a starry night is the one I faced when my ghost sense went off when Marinette left my room," Danny said as it returned to him.

"We got to go help them, Tikki. Come on, follow me," Danny told the Kwami.

Danny and Tikki went to the ghost portal to help the people of Amity Park. As they made it back to the lab, Danny and Tikki phased into Marinette's room, seeing her with the helmet that Danny had on before.

"Marinette!" both cried out as Danny tried to touch the helmet for him only to get shocked by it.

"Ow!" Danny pulled his hand back after being shocked.

"It seems like those helmets protect the wearer from being taken off," Tikki observed.

"I see that, but I think I could wake her by going into her dream," Danny told the Kwami.

"Did you ever do that before, Danny?" Tikki asked the ghost boy.

"Well, no, but I have to try for Marinette and everyone else," Danny said.

"Can I go with you? I could help to wake Marinette up," Kwami asked Danny.

"I never had anyone overshadow someone with me, including magical beings like you," Danny felt unsure that he could have someone else overshadow another person.

Danny decided to wing it and went intangible with Tikki in his palm. Tikki gave an adorable giggle when they turned intangible.

"How does it feel?" Danny wondered why she was laughing.

"It tickles," the Kwami answered while still giggling.

Danny phased into Marinette and went into her dreams.

Vlad has made a deal with Hawk Moth that if he helped him get the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, he'd help him create his perfect son with his Miraculous.

"I want him to have my eyes but Maddie's hair." He said to himself.

The Akuma left the bowtie and returned to Hawkmoth's lair. Vlad smiled that he had a new partner to help him out, and now he would do business with some of the wealthy people of Paris, starting with Gaberal Agreste.

Vlad went to Gaberal Agreste's mansion, and the security camera came out of the wall and looked at him.

"Who is this, and state your business?" Natalie asked on the microphone.

"Greeting. My name is Vlad Masters, and I came from Amity Park to speak business to Gabriel Agreste, and I want that talk now." Vlad greeted.

Natalie was about to tell Vlad that Gabriel could not talk to him, but Gabriel was behind her.

"Let him in, Natalie. Let us see what he wants." Gabriel told her.

Surprising her why he was letting this stranger in the house, she looked into the man's eyes and decided to let Vlad inside the mansion.

As Vlad walked into the mansion, the two villains stared at each other. They were waiting for the other to make a move.

Vlad then made the first move. "Greetings, Gabriel Agreste. My name is Vlad Masters. It is a pleasure to meet someone of your reputation, and not just the business side of you," Vlad greets the stoic man.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Masters. I heard a bit about you after researching Amity Park, Mr. Mayor." Gabriel said, giving the same stoic look. "I am impressed that you came from nothing to something in a short amount of time."

"What can I say? I'm very negotiable when it comes to business, almost supernaturally." Vlad smirked.

"Anyway, what do you want to talk about, Mr. Master?" Gabriel asked the older halfa.

"I was thinking of you coming to Amity Park to showcase some of the new designs you're coming up with this summer. Also, I think Vlad-co would also use your designs for inventions for space and other worlds," Vlad pitched the idea to Gabriel.

Gabriel thought for a minute. For one, this could expand his business beyond Paris, and two, he could get revenge on Danny Phantom for ruining his plans with Ragtash. "I'll take up on your offer, Mr. Master."

Both of them shook hands, and both of them smiled.

Danny and Tikki made it to Marinette's dream. They were in Paris, and Danny was amazed at how beautiful Paris was. He would want to visit Paris to go on a date with Marinette.

Danny and Tikki flew around to find where Marinette was and had her help them take down the ghost take to put them to sleep. They found where Marinette was, and she was with a dream version of Danny.

"I'm so happy you came to help me get the Butterfly and the Peacock Miraculous, Danny. And now I'm glad we are together as a couple," Marinette said as she wrapped her arm around his.

"Yeah, I can't believe Hawkmoth was just as or even more of a fruitloop than Vlad was. But I'm glad I was here to help you and Chat Noir to take him down. And now I'm glad I can be together with you, Mari," Dream Danny said.

"Mari?" Danny asked the Kwami.

"Short for Marinette," Tikki answered.

"That is a nice nickname for her. I guess I'll call her that when we capture that dream ghost," Danny said.

"Even though I have to go back to Amity Park to protect the people from the ghost attacks, I always think about you, Mari," Dream Danny looked into Marinette's eyes as they kissed on the lips.

Danny decided to overshadow his dream self to wake up Marinette.

"I have a question, Mari?" the overshadowed Dream Danny asked.

"What is it, my Chevalier?" Marinette asked.

"Are you still in love with Adrien?" Danny said as Marinette put his finger on her cheek. She then took a deep breath and looked at Danny with a smile. "Even though I still like Adrien, I want to give us a chance. If Adrien loves another girl, I should let him go and move on. Even though I have only known you for two weeks, I feel like we have a connection with each other, and I want to see how far that connection goes, Mon Chevalier," Marinette told him.

"So you are going to let go of Adrien for me?" Danny had a surprised look on his face.

Marinette wrapped her arms around Danny's neck and kissed Danny on the lips. It surprised Danny, and he kissed her back. After they finish kissing, the world becomes static, and Marinette wakes up.

"AHHH," she yelled as Danny and Tikki came out of her dream.

"Marinette, are you alright?" Danny asked.

"I'm alright, but what is going on? And why are you Phantom now?" Marinette asked him.

"Well, Tikki said that some ghost put you to sleep and went to get me to do something about it, but I was dealing with a ghost. I think I was dealing with one," Danny still feeling unsure about what happened when he was out of it after being in the Ghost Zone for who knows how long.

"We need to know what these ghosts look like and what we are fighting. Then we might need to talk, Danny," Marinette blushed as she looked away from him.

Danny did the same as he grabbed her hand. Marinette blushes, and Danny flies them up with his intangibility to the OP Center. Danny when to the OP Center's computers to look at the security footage 0f what happened. He found what he was looking for and found these green ghost phrasing in the front door.

"It looks like they are breaking and entering to me. Well, like phasing and entering," Danny joked.

Danny changes the screen to other security cameras in the kitchen, the living room, and the lab showing the green ghost putting their hands near their faces and causing them to be put to sleep, then placing the helmet on their heads.

'I Wonder why those ghosts go after my family and you?" Danny asked.

"I don't know, but we should find out why they put your family to sleep," Marinette said.

Danny thought for a moment, then came up with an idea. "I wonder if Tucker's can shed some more light on this problem," Danny told her.

Danny grabbed Marinette's hand and made them intangible to get out of the OP Center. He carried Marinette bridely style and saw that many people had those helmets on their heads. Finally, they made it to Tucker's room, and Tucker was asleep.

"Let's see what's on Tucker's vision," Danny said as he typed on the computer, and a hologram showed the ghost with the stary night body putting the helmet on his head.

"That's the ghost I saw putting the helmet on you and Marinette," Tikki said.

"Yeah, he does look familiar," Danny put his finger on his chin.

"What are we going to do now, Danny? Should we wake up Tucker, or should we try to find the ghost that is putting everyone to sleep," Marinette asked Danny.

"Yes, we need to wake up Tucker because he could help us against this new ghost," Danny told him, and he phased into Tucker's dream to wake him up.

In Tucker's dream, Danny saw that he was rich and had many different vehicles like a helicopter, fancy cars, and SUVs. He also had a fancy mansion that was in front of him. In the mansion, Danny saw his best friend on a couch with twins that looked like Star.

"Can I interest either of you ladies in a beverage? Say chocolate milk?"Tucker offered as he pressed a remote to a fridge raised from the ground and opened to have multiple chocolate milk.

The Star twins went to get the milk as a janitor cleaned with a vacuum passed by. "That will be all, Fenton," the janitor was Danny Fenton.

Danny was angry about this and decided to go to Tucker. Tucker was now dancing with the Star twins and kissed on the hand and was about to kiss the other before Danny Phantom glared at him.

"I'm your janitor?!: Danny is upset that Tucker made him a janitor in his dream.

Tucker causes Tucker to panic and s up from his dream.

"That was some nightmare that I had," Tucker said as he saw Danny and Marinette next to him.

"Dude, does she knows?" Tucker asked.

"Yes, she does, but that doesn't matter right now," Danny said. "I need your help to deal with this ghost that put everyone to sleep."

"You can count on me, Danny!" Tucker gave him a thumbs up.

"Also, I do not do windows," Danny grumbled.

It made Tucker wonder if Danny saw the part of his dream where he was a janitor. Even though Danny was his best friend, he still felt a little bit jealous of him from time to time.

Danny carried Marinette and Tucker to Fenton Works. As Tucker and Marinette waited, he went to Jazz's room to wake her up.

"So how long have you known Danny's secret as Phantom, Marinette?" Tucker asked.

"Since the dance yesterday. We were attacked by a robotic ghost named Skulker, and Danny didn't want to leave me alone so he could transform. So he transformed and protected me from that metalhead hunter," Marinette lied.

"Never transform in front of people unless the people are running for their lives from a ghost," Tucker explained. "Danny must really trust you if he is going to tell you his biggest secret."

"Uh, yeah, he trusts me with his secret of being Danny Phantom," Marinette didn't look at Tucker and rubbed the back of her neck.

Before Tucker could ask her what was wrong, Danny came out of Jazz's room with Jazz rubbing her hand on her head.

"So is that everyone, Danny, to deal with this dream ghost?" Marinette asked.

"Yeah, so let's get geared up and stop this ghost from putting everyone to sleep," Danny said as they went down to the lab to get some Fenton weapons.

As they were gearing up to face off the ghosts, Danny's ghost sense went off, and multiple green ghosts began to phase in the house.

"Oh great," Danny grumbled as he got into a fighting stance.

The green ghost was about to grab Marinette, Tucker, and Jazz before Danny blasted them with his ghost ray to knock them back.

"Thanks Mon chevalier," Marinette call out.

Danny was confused about what Marinette called him, but he kept his attention on the green ghost by freezing them with his eye beams. Danny then kicked and punched the frozen ghost shattering them.

Suddenly the ghost that looked like a starry night phased in. Danny suddenly recognized him as the ghost he was fighting before getting shoved into the Ghost Zone.

"You!" Danny exclaimed. "You're the one that sent me to the Ghost Zone!"

"Yes, and how dare you wake my livestock," the ghost glared at Danny with his red eyes.

"Who are you anyway?" Danny asked the ghost.

I'm Nocturn, the ghost of sleep. I go from town to town to put being of this realm to sleep. With this realm having millions of beings I can put to sleep, I can be all-powerful," he explained. "But you, ghost child, are getting my way of completing those plans."

"And I won't let you do that!" Danny charged at him.

Nocturn fired a white wave of energy at Danny to stop him. Danny shot his energy wave to block it. However, his energy wave was too weak compared to his, and it stuck him in the chest, pushing him back. The dream ghost lifted his hand and used telekinesis that lifted Danny off the ground, then smashed him against the wall.

"Danny!" Marinette, Tucker, and Jazz cried out.

Jazz and Marinette grabbed a blaster from the desk and fired at the dream ghost. The blast gave him holes in his body where they shot him; however, the holes began to regenerate. Nocturn turned around and was about to strike before Danny fired a large ectoblast that made a large hole in his chest.

"Don't you dare touch them, you dream creep!" Danny said as he charged at Nocturn, and roundhouse kicked him to the wall.

Danny followed that up with an ectobeam which Nocturn fired one of his own, which collied in the air. There was a sight beam struggle before the beams exploded in mid-air, pushing them both back to the opposite walls.

"Sleepwalkers form," the green ghost known as Sleepwalkers appears out of nowhere and begins to dog pile on Danny.

"Hey, get off my boyfriend, you blobs," Marinette fired the Fenton ghost blaster at them. However, there were too many of them for her to shoot off Danny.

"Fire all you want, French girl, but with many people asleep, it fuels my Sleepwalkers and me to be all-powerful. And I can do this all day," Nocturn said. "And now I'll permanently put your boyfriend into a deep sleep."

When Danny heard this, he lifted the Sleepwalkers over his head and froze them with his ice-eye beams. Then, Danny smashes the block of ice into pieces.

"Sleepwalkers fo-" before he could finish the sentence, Danny froze his mouth shut.

"I'm not going to let you finish that sentence, mister tall, dark, and spooky," Danny quipped. "Now it's time to hibernate!" Danny charged at him, and he kicked him, then freezing him solid.

Tucker, who had gotten the Fenton Thermos, captured the dream ghost and closed the cap. "Sweet dream," he quipped.

With Nocturn captured, the Sleepwalkers began to disappear.

"Great work Tuck," Danny congratulate.

"No problem, dude. We must deactivate those helmets to wake everyone up," Tucker told them as Jazz followed Tucker.

Only Danny and Marinette were the only ones that didn't follow them.

"Danny, we need to talk," Marinette said, which made Danny wonder what she wanted to talk about.

"Okay, what do you want to talk about, Mari?" Danny asked her.

"How did you know that, Danny?" Marinette was surprised that Danny knew her nickname.

"Uh, I went into your dream and heard the dream me call you that. I'm sorry for entering your dream. That was the only way I would wake you up," Danny explained.

"It's okay, Danny. You had no other choice," Marinette said. "Anyway, I want to tell you that I want our relationship to work, and I have to give up on Adrien if I want to do that," Marinette sighed.

"Are you sure about giving up on him?" Danny asked.

Marinette kissed him on the cheek, then on the nose, and finally on the lips. "Does that answer your question, Mon Chevalier," she said with a confident smile.

Danny blushed heavily from the kiss that Marinette gave him. Marinette was then about to faint from what she did, but Danny was able to catch her.

"Hey."

"Hey."

Both of them smile with blush on their faces.

"Uh, we sure go before Jazz and Tucker ask us what's taking us so long," Danny said.

"Yeah, we should go before they ask us why we're taking so long," Danny and Marinette went out of the lab while holding hands

... okay I kinda want to talk about one of my Miraculous AUs but it's not my main one™️. It isn't one of the bakugan crossover ones either-

But hear me out... Guardian/Ladybug!Luka AU [I'll think of a better name for this later]

Context: Shit happens, Marinette's identity as Ladybug is compromised. She needs to do something quickly before Hawkmoth could target her or her loved ones. She quickly mentions what she's gotta do and the consequences before she does, so she goes to Luka, talks with him and mentions that time is short, mentions about the kwamis, the guardian duties and that once she renounces her role as a guardian, she'll lose her memories. He accepts- and welp- things are changed since then.

Marinette doesn't remember the events of the show, she has vague memories (like her liking Adrien, but can't really tell why, and it takes a while for her to reopen to him). Considering her memory loss, her friends try to help her. Lila sees this as an opportunity, and gets buddy buddy with Mari, to the point the roles kinda reverse (the class knows Lila is lying, but Marinette doesn't, though justifiable so because girl lost her memories).

Hawk Moth kinda tries to target her at first. Stops once he realizes she chose a new guardian and lost her memories. Targets her again once she starts helping the heroes and it seems Chat is getting attached to her. Stops when Adrien lashes at him (in civilian form) when he tries to deny him to see her, only to hear him shout that he loves her.

... you know I kinda realized I forgot to mention the ladybug in the room... Luka- and well-

Atm I don't have a name or design for his ladybug alter ego, but I'll try to cook something. Chat on the other hand... would basically go through the five stages of grief. He's sad that his lady can no longer be Ladybug. At one point he even tries to cataclysm the new ladybug. Eventually, he accepts this and he tries to be better so that he won't lose another bug friend.

I can imagine Luka as a new ladybug trying to be more open with Chat. Like, both know that Marinette kept secrets to protect him, so they aren't really mad about it. However, with Chat being more serious in fights, I can imagine these two being more of a duo that need one another.

Meanwhile- tbf I still need to research these characters (I most likely won't watch the show, so I'll have the power of shitty wikis and tvtropes to help me, alongside a friend maybe, and even the fandom?), but considering I hear that Luka can 'hear' the inner songs of people, I wonder how he'd choose the other holders.

Also considering that he has a sister... I wonder how long until she finds out the kwamis in the house.

Meanwhile, things are kinda rough with Adrien, as she kinda remembers he was friends with Chloe, but she can't shake off this feeling that she likes him. This is kind of the reason she decides to give him a chance.

Chloe may be getting a redemption in this. Thinking if she'll get another miraculous in this.

Chat may also try to convince Luka to give him a miraculous to give to Marinette.

Chat may also reveal his identity to Marinette.

Joke thought about Luka trying to give Alix the snake miraculous (because he senses she may be good with time-related powers) only for her to reveal that technically she's already a perma hero aka the bunny hero. [totally not because I'm biased towards my fav]

Honestly just tempted to have the three (Marinette, Adrien and Luka) end in a relationship- mainly because I do want Mari and Adrien be endgame in this AU but ngl I also find funny the idea of Chat falling in love with the new ladybug hero too.

That is true, @multimousefanatic . I don’t really frequent the adrino corner of the Ladybug fandom, so I don’t know how the canon relationships with Alya and Marinette are usually dealt with, but I think that the best way to turn the above concept into a fic would be to maybe write it as a one shot where nothing actually happens between Adrien and Nino, but the possibility is kind of played up for comedic effect?

For instance, the story could start with Nino telling Alya about what happened with Adrien on the street, with Alya being more amused than anything else because Nino is being adorably over concerned. She could then try to gently tell Nino that he’s probably reading the situation wrong, and maybe mention an article she read on a day in the life of the glamorous Adrien Agreste that honestly made his life seem kind of sad, because it was so clear how isolated Adrien is from other people. Then she could go on to say that Adrien probably just saw Nino and thought he looked like someone really cool to get to know (“Which, of course, you are!”), but Nino will still be convinced that was not the vibe he got.

At which point, Alya—who is nothing if not secure in her relationship—might chuckle and say something along the lines of, “Well okay, but if you do decide you want to try being his friend, I promise I won’t get mad if you accidentally get wined and dined instead. After all, it could be a great opportunity for you, couldn’t it? They say that breaking into the film industry is all about who you know.”

And that last part might stick with Nino a little bit as he goes about the rest of his day. Maybe during a free period, he might pull out his phone and do a little digging into Adrien Agreste online where, in addition to a multitude of images in which Nino has to admit Adrien looks amazing, he finds a few headlines that confirm Adrien Agreste has indeed started dabbling acting around modeling jobs.  Cue one more interaction with Alya where Nino asks, “You’re sure this is a good idea?”

And Alya jokingly responds, “Just promise you’ll think fondly of me if he steals you away!”

And then Nino makes the call, reminding himself that he really is probably just being silly. After all, someone as gorgeous as Adrien probably doesn’t need to go picking up people on the street. He probably meets equally gorgeous people to date at work all the time! (Cue Nino catching himself describing Adrien as gorgeous.)

And of all things, Adrien invites Nino over to his house to watch Space Mutants vs. Ghost Shark of all things, which of course is Nino’s favorite movie that no one ever wants to watch with him, so of course he says yes! But then he goes there, and everything slightly. . .odd, in a way that Nino can’t really tell whether it’s actually odd, or just a product of their different lifestyles. For instance, instead of the customary bowl of chips, Adrien puts out a charcuterie board for them to snack on, which Nino immediately has Nino switching back to thinking there is something romance coded happening here, but then he catches himself and reasons that just might be what rich eat with their buddies. And on top of that, Adrien isn’t trying to put his arm around him or hold his hand or anything, but he does seem really nervous. And the more time Nino spends around him, the more obvious it is that Alya was right. Adrien is really isolated. It’s no wonder he'd approach his first bro hangout with all the apprehension of a first date. But even after Nino figures that out, they still spend another twenty awkward minutes or so together because Nino can’t think of a way to put Adrien at ease.

But then Nino’s favorite part of the movie comes on, and Adrien bursts out laughing, and Nino is thrilled, because no one he’s ever forced to watch this movie has ever gotten that this part is supposed to be funny! (In actuality, maybe Adrien was actually laughing because the effects/acting was just so terrible—who knows!)

Nino immediately launches into a mostly one-sided, but very enthusiastic tangent about the movie, with Adrien nodding along, and everything takes a turn for the better.

It's only later in the evening that they hit another awkward pause, when Nino and Adrien are locked in a tie breaking match on Adrien’s foosball table and Nino’s phone goes off. Nino excitedly picks his phone up, saying, “Oh, it’s my girlfriend!”

And then there’s the pause.

Nino notices it and for a second Nino goes reeling back into to square one, thinking he’d just dropped a a really awkward bomb on their new friendship, and after they’d been having such a nice time too—but then he looks up and sees that the lull was actually due to Adrien checking something on his phone on his phone too.

Adrien then says something along the lines of “Damnit, I forgot I have an early shoot tomorrow. We’re going to have to call it a night.”

Nino agrees, and says that he hopes they can hang out again soon, and leaves thinking about how glad he is that he listened to Alya about Adrien after all.

And it’s only THEN that the POV should switch over to Adrien, laying face down on his couch, groaning the words “Of course he has a girlfriend!” into the cushions.

Plagg, hovering nearby, sassily lets out a few “Hm-hm-hm!” noises, because of course his mouth is still sealed in this universe, and Adrien will groan again in response: “It doesn’t matter if ‘he’s not married yet,' Plagg.”

And that’s how I think a fic would go down.

But that’s just me! Maybe someone else would want to do it differently. I don’t really live in Adrinoland, I’m just visiting.

I can’t stop thinking about how EmoAdrien’s efforts to befriend Nino in his world must have gone.

Because the Marinette from his world was bewildered at the thought of him recognizing her civilian identity when she detransformed in front of him, implying that they do not know each other from school in their world, and that this version of Adrien is probably still getting home schooled around his modeling career. He has probably not received the already miniscule amount of socialization that our main universe Adrien received, and while he knows who Nino is, he only knows him as his masked persona. Not as a civilian.

There are only so many options open to him! He could start showing up in places he knows Nino frequents in a similar fashion to how Chat Noir tends to just show up at Marinette’s house, hoping that whatever good word Betterfly put in for him is enough to keep Nino from running away on sight. Or, alternatively, EmoAdrien is going to have to just cruise around Paris in the backseat of his limo until he happens to spot Nino on the street somewhere. At which point, the most awkward conversation is bound to happen, because again, this Adrien has no friends! He’s just a wanna-be-edgy supermodel who only talks to people when they’re going about their paid jobs that just so happen to put them in his vicinity. His great opener to the conversation after jumping out of his limo and running up to Nino is probably going to be “HI! Uh. . .how are you?”

While Nino is just gawkily looking between Adrien and a ten foot version of Adrien’s face pictured next to a bottle of perfume on some nearby billboard.

Then, with a dozen different alarm bells in his head letting him know that he is getting more cringe by the second, this poor little guy is going to panic and say something about how they should see a movie some time, hastily looking around for a piece of paper that isn’t there, before scrawling his number on Nino’s arm and shouting “Call me!”

And as Adrien’s limo drives off, Alya, who we know is still dating Nino in this universe, is going to walk out of a nearby shop and ask Nino why he looks so startled.

And Nino’s going to say, “Babe. . .I think Adrien Agreste just asked me out.”

Marinette, straight up vibing when she spots Jason: Chloe, Chloe he is so pretty what do I do?

Chloe, being viciously shaken by the arm by Marinette looking over at Jason: Do you mean tall, dark, and scary? We avoid him

Marinette practically vibrating: No, He is hot. He is very much so attractive. I'm gonna go shoot my shot

Chloe, pulling Marinette back by her ponytail: Oh no you don't. He would crush you like a bug

Marinette, freeing her hair from Chloe: Hopefully they are issues he likes, now let go I need to go seduce him

Roy, who had been sent to get them drinks and was watching Marinette thirst over Jason: *Snort*

Chloe, who has been waiting for an excuse to throw hands with somebody: Whats so funny, Carrots?

Roy, shakes his head and turns to Jason: Hey Jay! Help me carry these back to the table?

*Jason looks over and sees Roy pointing at a very red girl staring at him before she sprints towards the bathroom, pulling a blonde with her*

Jason: What was that about?

Roy, walking back to the table: A little miss somebody has a crush on you. She was going to shoot her shot but her friend thought you were bad news. Seems like it was part of the appeal to her though.

Jason, now looking towards the bathroom in hopes of seeing her: Is that so? Was it the blonde or the one with freckles?

Roy, smirking at Jason: How did you notice her freckles? Were you staring?

*Jason shoves Roy, blushing as he walks to the bathrooms*

Roy, shouting after him: That's it buddy! Follow your dreams! She's just behind that door!

*Jason does not return.*

Funny enough, the moment he's like 'sure we can be buddies' @ her she literally just starts going to him for everything without a second thought. Like in Wishmaker, she just doubles down so hard.

She can't take her eyes (or her hands half of the time) off him, even with Adrien literally right next to her. She's so for it?? Tells the kwami that she is going to be his best friend??? Eats the Luka ice cream with him?? LITERALLY chooses to sit by Luka over Adrien (which isn't very 'Desperada' of her, tbh) . Meanwhile, you have Luka standing there like 'haha what is happening' because she's giving him so much more attention than she ever did while they were dating. To top it off, you have Ephemeral where they're showing Marinette begging Adrien to help her while Hawkmoth has her by the ears, him NOT helping, and then IMMEDIATELY they cut back to Luka bursting through the bakery door on his bike with the force of a raging bull .

The other thing that's funny is that for some reason Adrien manages to spend every on screen second with Luka looking at him like he's the sun or something??? Like what's even the play there? Maybe it's to parallel the Kagami/Marinette/Adrien thing but it's just so fucking funny to me that Luka's just so busy trying to vibe w the Marinette whirlwind (by which I mean the Hell that she's put through) that he literally does not even notice that he's being ogled by the guy Marinette is into at the same time.

That got off topic, but yeah.

I'm. YEP. The whole thing is so funny I can't even deal w/ it. Happy days!

In conclusion, Lukanette best friends is amazing because Luka can still be absolutely murdered by Marinette’s definitely-not-romantic feelings and actions.

This boy is too powerful. It’s like Marinette and him agreed to be friends but she wants to do everything they did while dating anyway.

Marinette Changes Schools: A funny little Lila salt prompt

So, there are a lot of ‘Marinette changes schools’ au’s and I love a whole bunch of them don't get me wrong. BUT the one thing I haven’t seen yet is Marinette changing schools not because of Lila or salt but simply because her parents are moving and they want her to attend a school close to home. So without further ado let me sell you on my little idea: 

Lila has been plotting weeks worth of plans and lies, she’s thought up some sob stories about being stalked, about near death experiences, about celebrities that are like her family. She has plans for Marinette all the ways she could make the girl look bad and all the ways she could force Adrien to see her. That all goes out the window one day when she gets to school and it's a sob fest. There is a clear air of dread and dismay, the blue skies she saw on the way to school replaced with heavy storm clouds. And when she gets to class it's worse. Marinette and Alya are hugging and crying, Adrien looks like he's been shot, Nino and Kim are demanding to know ‘why’ even Chloe looks upset, her blue eyes a little glassy. Lila quickly learns why, Marinette’s parents' business is doing GREAT so great in fact that they have decided to open a second location! The twist? They also decided to move INTO the new location and with it being on the other side of Paris and her parents fears for their daughters safety that means Marinette is moving to a new school!

Now Lila doesn’t even have to school her face into a practiced expression of shock. She genuinely is shocked here she’d been planning months in advance picturing the ways she would destroy her rivals life and steal her friends! And now just like that Marinette is MOVING? Of course Lila quickly decides this is a good thing! After all if Marinette is out of the picture ruling the school will be that much easier. Sure Chloe might be queen bee but with Marinette gone people will be looking to replace her! In walks Lila Rossi, a gorgeous upstart model with a heart of gold and connections coming out of her bangs! She’d rule the school and Adrien would fall for her, then Marinette would probably come crawling back desperate for her old friends only to learn she’d snatched them all up! It was brilliant! And with Marinette gone she could probably do it in record time! So Lila covers up her smirk and says she’s devastated to hear that the twin tailed girl would be leaving and begins plotting.

In the month that follows Lila leaves Marinette alone letting her have her friends for what would be for the last time. After all if everyone still loved the designer when she left they’d be all the more eager to replace her with a new and better version. Of course just because Lila is playing nice doesn’t mean she enjoys it. Alya is practically glued to the girl and ignores Lila even when she’s not trying to sabotage Marinette. Adrien is acting like his life is ending and all anyone will talk about is Marinette. When she checks social media it's all just pictures of ‘old-great times with Marinette’ or new photos and videos of helping the girl pack up and move into her new room, which Lila seethes about for a week when she sees the photos of the spacious luxurious room with a private bath. Apparently the Dupain-Cheng’s new bakery was in a pretty ritzy rich neighborhood. During school Marinette is mobbed by a constant stream of people begging her to stay and when they accept that not happening they all at least beg her to ‘come back and visit’ Marinette promises and Lila has to hide her snort. Fat chance of that actually happening. 

Finally the last day arrives and Lila has to hold back the urge to gag as everyone fills the nearby park giving Marinette gifts and heartfelt goodbyes. Adrien is the last one to offer his gift and Lila seethes as Marinette gingerly opens the box with a gasp and pulls out two brand new pink hair ribbons, and Adrien goes on to say that they’re made of imported silk! SILK, as if the little baker brat deserved silk! The whole exchange is cliche and romantic as Marinette removes her current hair ribbons to tie in the new ones and Adrien ties the old ones around his wrist like some idiot who doesn’t realize what a love struck longing look he's giving his ‘good friend’. But Lila just keeps reminding herself its just a bit longer and sure enough not long after the hideously gooey exchange between Adrien and Marinette is over the designer is leaving with more tears and farewells. FINALLY Lila thinks she can get back to what matters! Ruling her empire.

As it turns out ruling her empire is not what she thinks. For the first month after Marinette leaves all anyone will talk about is the photos she’s posted online. The first week its ALL about HER new school is a private well known academy with uniforms, and isn't Marinette cute in it? And look at her in her custom black kitty thigh highs? Lila wants to scream, but not as much as when she catches Adrien drooling over the photo of said thigh highs and twirling the old nasty hair ribbons around his wrist. The second week its all about the video tour of her new home and school that Marinette sent Alya. Lila glares the whole time as Alya puts the video on the projector at lunch so everyone can see the big new gorgeous bakery and the beautiful house on the second floor and her stupid big bedroom that should belong to someone like herself and not some bratty bakers daughter! By the third week Lila has had enough and fakes some nasty texts from Marinette hoping to speed up the process of helping her classmates move on to HERSELF. It backfires spectacularly with Alya going on the warpath to learn who would dare frame Marinette now that she’s gone. Lila is starting to realize that somehow Marinette has reached a higher level of popularity now that she’s gone. But she reminds herself it won't last forever that in ‘just a little bit longer’ everyone will forget the baker. Right?

A little bit longer. Never happens. Lila asks the girls to hang out that weekend with plans of winning them over with some juicy celeb story? Alya says they all already made plans to hope aboard the train to spend the whole weekend at Marinette’s new place! Lila tries to corner Adrien into a date after a photo shoot. He disappears and all she hears from the workers on set is that he's been looking up some new bakery on the other side of town. [Marinette is suddenly being visited by Chat Noir every other night but she figures she must have moved closer to where his civilian self lives if hes dropping by so much.] She tries to throw a party for the class? They can't. Marinette will be coming out to the park today! With her new school friends!

AH HA! Lila see’s opportunity and decides to tag along. After all if Marinette has new friends Lila can twist it! She’ll whisper about her replacing them all! Make them hate Marinette’s new friends! Fill them with jealousy till they hate Marinette! It's BRILLIANT! And, it fails in less than two minutes, with Alya learning about Aurore being a ballet dancer and the two girls bonding over their mutual love of DANCE?? How the heck was Lila supposed to know Alya had been a champion ballet dancer in her younger years! Then Nino is bonding with some kid named Allen or whatever about classical vs modern music and how to blend the two! And some kid named Claude is joking with Kim, Max, and Alix! And this is definitely not how things were supposed to go!

The worst part is Adrien, who is passive aggressively fighting for Marinette against Kagami AND Felix who are both all too eager to show how ‘close’ they’ve gotten to the baker's daughter while Adrien’s been across the city. Kagami is all to happy to show off that she ALSO bought Marinette some new silk hair ribbons [in a red shade that happens to match her fencing uniform] while Felix eagerly wisks Marinette away the moment Kagami and Adrien are distracted the two fencers find him openly flirting with an oblivious Marinette her hair down because ‘oh felix was nice enough to help me get some leaves out of my hair and said i should leave it like this!’ [while both Kagami and Adrien agree she looks beyond cute they know this means war.] Needless to say Lila didn’t realize that Marinette was that damn popular with men and woman.

The week after the meet up Lila is worn so thin she’s ready to snap. Not only did the class not get jealous but they actually became FRIENDS with all of Marinette’s new buddies and were planning many more meet ups including a paintball war over the baker girl that saturday. Adrien had taken to openly mumbling to himself about changing schools and how he ‘cant believe’ his own flesh and blood would so openly flirt with HIS very good friend! And what was with Kagami showing off how easily she can pick up and carry Marinette? And why did she invite Marinette to watch their next tournament! He needed to train, what if he lost?? In front of Marinette?! And then she thought he was too weak to keep her safe like all good friends are supposed to do! Clearly Kagami was trying to replace him as Marinette’s very good friend! Poor Nino who was sitting next to the boy had actually volunteered to switch with Lila but she came up with a lie to avoid it, she’d had enough of hearing about Marinette from Alya and Juleka and the rest of the girls, she didn’t also need to hear it from Adrien! 

It all comes to a head that Saturday during the paintball tournament when Lila now at her wits end her plans out the window her schemes barely thought out hopes to find something ANYTHING to ruin Marinette’s day and reputation and everything. But Lila just so happens to get completely pelted with paintballs everytime she so much as moves and then later gets ignored when trying to wow Marinette’s new friends, and then gets called out by Felix and Kagami snaps and finally she snaps and SCREAMS and runs off and not even a dark little butterfly comes to help her ruin the perfect day. As it turns out Hawkmoth was a little preoccupied with trying to save his business after all the computers and data involved in his precise scheduling were mysteriously corrupted suddenly freeing up his son's time and schedule so he could spend more with HIS very good friend and no one else's. Kagami and Felix apparently had the same idea as when he gets to her new house their already their doing their best to get on her parents good side.

Basically just give me some comedic, fluffy, Lila salty, Marinette changes school fics. Because I love them ok.

Taking Chances Ch. 26: Illusions (Dance)

Marinette quickly decides she hates the punishment. The grounding. It sucks not being allowed to go on patrol with her family. Luckily, Adrien came back to Paris the day after she was grounded, so she didn’t have to take any of her family to Paris. Which she was thankful for, because as much as she loved them, she also doubted they’d be able to control their emotions long enough. 

“Hey kiddo, we’re about to head out to patrol. Do you need anything?” Dick asks, sticking his head into her room. He’d been extremely nice since she got benched, not that he was ever anything but nice. But he’d also been acting like another dad, checking in on her, making dad jokes, the works. It helped since her own dad was currently still mad at her for blocking him from Paris. 

“To patrol with you guys.” She says with a hopeful smile. Dick sighs, shaking his head. 

“You know I can’t do that Mari. B’s the one who has to say you’re allowed back. I’m sorry kid.” Dick says. Marinette frowns. 

“It’s fine. I’ll just stay here and draw or something.” She says, flopping back down on her bed. She can tell Dick hesitates, as if he wants to say something else, but then he’s gone. And she’s alone. Again. 

“Marinette, are you okay?” Tikki asks, flying over and landing next to her head. 

“It’s been four days, Tikki. Four days. How much longer is he gonna have me benched? If the akuma was bad, I would’ve brought in Kagami or Luka.” She rambles, covering her face with her hands. She was restless, which was making her anxious. She wanted to do something. She didn’t want to be stuck at home. And sure, she could train in the gym here, but her mind wouldn’t be in it. She’d be worried about her family the whole time. 

“Well...maybe it’s time for you to be ungrounded.” Tikki says slowly. Marinette pulls her hands from her face and blinks at her friend. 

“Are you...are you ungrounding me?” She asks. Because yes, her dad had grounded her. But Tikki had agreed with the punishment. And while sneaking around the world’s greatest detective would be hard, she was willing to do it. Going against the goddess of creation? Not so much. 

“If you bring Trixx, you’ll be able to be invisible when you’re around your family.” Tikki suggests and Marinette grins. 

“Plagg’s rubbing off on you, isn’t he?” She teases. Tikki huffs. 

“Not at all. I just don’t like seeing you upset, Marinette.” She says and Marinette smiles. 

“Thank you, Tikki.” She says, going over to the Miracle Box and pulling out Trixx’ necklace. She puts it on and grins at the small fox. 

“Hiya Guardian! What’s goin’ on?” Trixx asks with a wide smile. 

“Tikki suggested I bring you on patrol so I can be invisible. Whaddya say Trixx, ready to cause some mischief?” Marinette asks. Trixx smirks. 

“Obviously!” He cheers. Marinette grins. Let the fun begin.

Marinette sticks close to her family, using Mirage to make herself invisible. It was weird, following her family and not being able to hear them (she hadn’t wanted to take a comm in case she messed up and talked, she’d be in real trouble then). But it was also funny, watching her dad tense if she got too close. He could definitely tell that something funny was going on, but she was determined to not let him figure her out. The beeping from Trixx’ necklace makes her huff. She’d have to go hide and recharge, but it was fine. Trixx had already told her that he was having fun messing with her family, so she knew he’d be willing to keep going for a little while longer. Dashing behind one of the air conditioning units on the roof, she lets Trixx’ Mirage drop, passing him a handful of berries. 

“Take your time Trixx, they won’t get far.” Marinette reassures him, smiling at him as he grabs the berries from her. She leans up against the unit, taking a minute to just relax. 

“Well, well, well. Looks like the little bug strayed from her birds.” A familiar voice drawls out. Marinette stiffens, not turning. 

“Trixx, go. Find the others.” She commands, ripping the necklace off and passing it to Trixx. He immediately zips away and she whirls around, just in time to jump back and avoid the sword coming at her. 

“You have more than one Miraculous? How interesting. You know, Damian stopped us from talking last time. I’d love to...chat.” Slade says, pulling his sword back. She can’t see his face, but she can hear the smirk in his voice. Marinette grits her teeth, remembering the last time she’d seen the man. The scar she had on her shoulder. 

“I’d rather not. No offense, but you don’t seem like a great conversationalist.” She snarks, her entire body tense as she stays poised to fight. She glances around, trying to find an escape route that would get her as far away from him as possible. And quick.

“You’re not actually thinking of running, are you? You have no backup. I’ve been watching the Bats tonight. No one knows you’re even here.” He says, stepping closer so that he’s almost blocked her in. She feels her breathing quicken as she starts to panic slightly. She’d only escaped last time because of her family. They’d fought him off after he got ahold of her. He’s far stronger than her, she has to stay out of his reach. She takes a deep breath, staring the man down and schooling her features into a neutral mask. She refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her distressed. 

“I never run from a fight.” She lies, throwing her yoyo out to wrap around the handle of the man’s sword, tugging as she throws her weight to his left. The clanking of the sword as it bounces off the roof makes her grin, and she quickly tugs the yoyo, grabbing the sword by its handle and twirling it around slightly, planting her feet in her new position. She’d managed to move so that she was no longer blocked between Slade and the air conditioning unit. 

“Oh sweetheart, you can’t possibly beat me.” He says, shaking his head as he walks towards her, pulling his second sword off his back. 

“Don’t underestimate me.” She snaps, holding up the sword and preparing herself to fight back. He sighs, as if he’s disappointed in her, before lunging forward, bringing his sword up for an attack. She holds up her own sword, blocking his strike. It was much different than the fencing foil she’d used a few times back in Paris, much heavier. She grits her teeth as he pushes down with the sword, obviously trying to overpower her. She holds for another moment before jumping back, jerking her sword away. The sudden change in force makes him stumble forwards and let out a growl. He continues to lunge towards her as she dances back and forth, trying to avoid fighting him too much. He’d definitely overpower her if she let him get too close. 

“I’d rather do this the easy way, darling, but if you’re really going to make me do this the hard way we can.” He threatens, twirling the sword around before charging her again. She let out a gasp, jumping back again, her foot slipping as she was much closer to the edge of the roof than she expected. She falls, managing to grab the roof with her open hand, the sword now dangling at her side. She had two options. She could let go of the sword and use her yoyo to swing away, or she could try and let go of the roof and shoot out her yoyo quick enough to avoid splatting on the ground. She quickly makes her decision, dropping the sword into the dumpster below her and yanking out her yoyo to attempt to swing away. 

“No!” She yells, as Slade grabs her hand from the roof, tugging her towards him before she can swing away. She struggles against him, kicking at him, throwing her elbows around wildly. She had to get out of his hold. 

“Did you really think that would work?” He asks, as he pins her to chest. She continues struggling in his grasp, not willing to give up yet.

“Thought I’d try it.” She huffs. 

“Sure you did sweetheart. Now, I’ll be taking these.” Slade says, reaching for her earrings. He touches them and hisses in pain, Marinette also hissing in shock. They’d heated up when he grabbed them, almost like they were trying to burn him. Unfortunately for Marinette, they were still on her ears. Which meant she also got burned. 

“What the hell was that?” He hisses, whirling her around to face her, continuing to hold her arms down. She continues to struggle while glaring at the man. 

“Apparently the earrings don’t want you either.” She snaps. 

“Guess I’ll just have to take you with me.” He says and her eyes widen in panic. No. Nope. Not a secondary location, she’d watched enough true crime shows and listened to Tim rant about cold cases enough to know what a secondary location meant. It meant death. And she was not about to die again, especially not somewhere she couldn’t use the Cure. A hard blow to the back of her head makes her vision go black as she quickly slips into unconsciousness.

Dick Grayson was not expecting to see a tiny floating fox on patrol. He was definitely not expecting said tiny fox to be carrying a necklace and rambling worriedly.

“Whoa, whoa, calm down buddy. What’s wrong?” Dick asks, smiling at them. They were similar to Plagg, the tiny floating black cat that had hung around the day Marinette was a toddler. 

“It’s the Guardian! She needs help. A man with a mask and swords found her and she doesn’t have any backup.” They ramble, a terrified look on their face. Dick frowns. 

“Who?” He asks, not quite sure why the fox has chosen him. 

“Marinette!” They cry, and Dick freezes. “Tikki told her she could be ungrounded and so we were following you guys, but then she had to stop and the man found her. Please, help her!” 

“Lead the way.” He says, whirling on his heel and following the little creature as it zips through the city. He follows them all the way to a roof, frowning when the fox pauses and looks around, clear panic on their face. 

“They were here. She was here.” They mumble, twisting in circles and looking around. They start zipping forward again, and Dick has to rush to follow. Hopefully they’d spotted Marinette. And whoever the guy was. As he follows the fox, he frowns when he spots a figure carrying something over their shoulder. Something limp- He pushes forward, going faster than the fox as he attempts to catch up. The second the figure lands on a roof, he whips out his escrima sticks, whacking the man across the back of his legs. The man stumbles, spinning around and glaring at Dick. 

“Nightwing, wasn’t expecting to see you.” Slade growls. Dick narrows his eyes. 

“Drop the girl, Slade.” He demands. Slade lets out a humorless laugh. 

“I’ve been trying to get to her for weeks, do you really think I’m going to let go of her that easily?” He asks. 

“I think if you know what’s good for you, you’ll set her down and get the hell out of Gotham.” Dick says. 

“Nightwing, who is it?” Damian’s voice rings through the comm. Dick’s relieved that he was on the duo’s channel rather than the group channel. If he could get Marinette home before B noticed, maybe his baby sister wouldn’t get in more trouble. 

“I don’t think you understand the importance of her earrings.” Slade counters, obviously preparing to fight his way out. 

“I don’t care how important you think they are, Slade. Put her down and get out of the city.” He says, watching the older man’s body language to try and anticipate the attack. He hears Damian curse in his ear, and he resists the urge to reprimand him. 

“How about no.” Slade quips, tossing Marinette to the side of the roof and charging at him in one fluid motion. Dick sees red as he watches Marinette get tossed aside so carelessly, her head bouncing off the roof. He uses one of his escrima sticks to counter the blows from the other man’s sword, using his other to whack the man’s shoulder. The two circle each other, each taking turns to start the attack. Slade may be motivated by his want for the earrings, but Dick was fighting for his sister. Losing wasn’t an option for Dick, not when one of his siblings was in danger. 

“I believe Nightwing told you to leave.” Damian calls, bursting into the fight. Slade turns back towards Marinette, and just as Dick’s about to lunge for him- she disappears. Completely. Gone from sight. He begins to panic slightly. Where did she go? What happened to her? The cry from Slade breaks his concentration from where his sister just disappeared into thin air. He glances back at the man, unsurprised to see Damian’s sword through the older man’s side. As much as he wants to see Slade suffer, he knows Damian would be in trouble later if he actually killed the older man. “Robin.” Dick calls, hoping to ground his little brother before he did something he would regret. Damian scowls, stepping away from Slade. Dick turns his attention to the man, who was now disarmed and bleeding profusely. Not much of a threat. “Get the hell out of this city. Don’t let us see you here again Slade.” He snaps, unsurprised as the man turns and rushes away. The man was a coward. His biggest enemy was a twelve year old boy who had done nothing but be born. Gritting his teeth, Dick takes a deep breath. No need to let his anger get the best of him. He immediately starts to panic when he remembers Marinette disappearing. Just as he’s about to call it in, her limp form shimmers back into view. He rushes over to her, glancing momentarily at the floating fox next to her. 

“I can do mirages. Hopefully I controlled it enough not to make chaos anywhere, but-” They stop, glancing at Marinette. “But I had to do something.”

“Thank you.” Dick says softly, picking up Marinette and holding her close to his chest. 

“Should I alert Father?” Damian asks. Dick turns to look at him, noticing how tense the younger boy looks. He weighs his options. He could take her back to the manor and let her get into even more trouble with Bruce. Or, he could take her to his apartment and try to convince Bruce that she’d been there all night. 

“Let’s not. She’ll just be benched for even longer, and obviously trying to keep her from patrols isn’t going to end well for us.” Dick says, frowning at her limp form. Damian tenses, but nods. “I will continue patrol while you take her to a safe location. I expect an update once she is awake. You should stay with her, Slade has obviously become obsessed with her.” Damian says, and Dick nods.

“Thank you, Robin. I know you don’t like going against him, but…..” Dick trails off, looking at Marinette and how tiny she looked right now. Damian nods. 

“She’s family as well. I did not agree with her punishment, I will not aid in it being lengthened.” He says before swinging away. Dick just smiles softly, shaking his head at his youngest brother. That was probably as close as he’d get to admitting he loved Marinette. But it was clear, in his actions, that he did care about her. Just as he cared about their other brothers, no matter how much he denied it. Sighing, Dick adjusts Marinette in his arms before grappling towards his apartment. This was going to be a long night.

Marinette wakes up and immediately groans at the light in the room. Almost immediately, the light disappears, as if someone flipped a switch. 

“Hey kiddo.” A soft voice says. She sits up and winces, holding a hand against her head. She blinks, her eyes adjusting as she glances around the unfamiliar space. 

“Dick?” She says, confused. Where were they? What happened?

“You’re okay kid, we’re at my apartment. It’s where I live when Kori and Mari are in town. Slade got you, almost got away with you too. But your little fox friend found me and I was able to get there in time. Try and drink a little water, I need to call Damian and let him know you’re awake.” He says and she starts to panic. Did their dad also know? Was she in more trouble? Was- “Marinette, you gotta breathe. Damian and I are the only ones who know you snuck out. Neither of us wanna tell B, cause then you’d just be sneaking on patrol even longer and that’s dangerous. But I’m not gonna lecture you right now. So just take a breath. That’s it kid, you’re okay.” He soothes, breathing with her for several counts. She nods once she’s calmed down, and he grins at her before walking away to make the call. She picks up the water, sipping on it and trying to ignore the pounding in her head. Instead, she glances around the apartment, smiling softly at the pictures. She’d found out about her sister in law and niece not that long ago. They were apparently off planet right now, but she had hope that they would be back before the summer was over so she could meet them. A sudden wave of nausea hits her and she groans, laying back against the couch. She huffs in frustration when she realizes she likely has a concussion.

“When I said you were ungrounded, I didn’t mean for you to fight the man that stabbed you on your first trip to Gotham.” Tikki complains, flying up and staring straight into her eyes. Marinette groans, squeezing her eyes shut and pouting. 

“I didn’t mean to.” She reminds the Kwami, opening an eye to peek at her. 

“Didn’t mean to.” She mumbles before letting out an uncharacteristic huff. “Next time tell one of your brothers, please Marinette. Even if you’re sneaking out. I’m sure they could figure out a way to be in communication with you without letting your dad know. It would make me feel better knowing that you have backup from the start.” Tikki says, her worry clear on her small face. 

“I will, don’t worry Tikki.” Marinette says with a sigh. She could hold her own against a normal criminal, or an akumatized villain. But it wasn’t easy fighting against a man more than twice her size who was obviously highly trained. 

“B thinks you came over here before patrol, so your cover is safe.” Dick says, walking back into the living room. Marinette smiles weakly at him, fully expecting a lecture now that he’s off the phone. Dick sits on the arm of the chair next to the couch, looking at her worriedly. “Think you have a concussion?” He asks. She blinks, but nods slowly. He walks away and comes back a moment later with some painkillers, passing them to her. She takes them, hoping that they’ll start working sooner than later as the dull pounding in her head has escalated since waking up. 

“Are you gonna yell at me?” She asks quietly, not looking at him. 

“No, Marinette, I’m not gonna yell at you.” He says, and she looks at him, frowning. 

“Why? I knew I was benched. And I still went out, and I didn’t tell anyone.” She says, confused as to why he wasn’t yelling. Her dad hadn’t yelled at her after she got stabbed, just flat out refused to let her patrol. But he’d yelled at her after the Watchtower thing. And the stealing the Batmobile thing. And the whole keeping him from getting to Paris thing. And the fighting an akuma alone thing. 

“You know that you messed up, why would I yell at you? You know, and now next time, you’ll do it differently. You’ll be better and learn from this mistake. I’m not gonna yell at you for secretly going on patrol ‘cause I’d be a hypocrite. Was I scared to death when I realized the limp thing on Slade’s shoulder was you? Yes. God, yes, I was terrified. But you’re here and you’re fine. So instead of yelling, you’re gonna stay here tonight and I’m gonna make sure I don’t need to take you to Alfred for the concussion.” Dick says with a small smile. Marinette smiles at her brother, relieved. 

“Are you gonna tell dad?” She asks. Even though he doesn’t know yet, she knows that there’s still a chance of Dick telling him. 

“No, but can you do something for me?” He asks. She nods. “Next time you wanna sneak out without B knowing, could you tell me or Jay? Please? Just so we know to check in on you. We’re not gonna follow you or anything, but it’d be nice to know that one of us needs to check in and make sure you’re okay.” He says. She quirks an eyebrow in surprise. He wasn’t going to follow her?

“Really?” She asks, he nods. 

“I know that sometimes you just need a break. Trust me, I get it. I understand that B can be….overbearing.” Dick says with a sigh. Marinette nods in agreement, sitting back slightly and letting out a yawn. Just as her eyes are about to close, there’s a snap in front of her face. 

“What?” She groans, frowning at her brother. 

“Can’t go to sleep yet kiddo. You clearly have a concussion, so I’m gonna need you to stay awake for a couple hours just to make sure your symptoms stay on the mild side.” He says. She frowns and is about to argue when the front door opens. Dick immediately jumps up and stands in front of her, but relaxes almost as quickly. 

“Daddy!” The little girl, who Marinette realizes must be Mar’i, squeals, flying straight at Dick. Marinette blinks. Her niece could fly. That’s awesome! But would definitely throw a new challenge in when she babysits the girl. 

“Who is this?” The woman, who was taller than Dick and drop dead gorgeous, asks, a small smile on her face. Marinette grins, waving from the couch. 

“Hey, I’m Marinette. Dick’s newest sister.” She says. The woman, Kori, sighs, a smile on her face as she shakes her head. 

“He adopted another?” She asks Dick. He snorts, shaking his head as he holds his daughter close. 

“Nope, she’s his actual daughter. Little D took it surprisingly well.” Dick says. 

“So she’s my aunt?” Mar’i asks, peeking over Dick’s shoulder. 

“Yup! I’m so glad to finally meet you Mar’i.” Marinette says with a small smile, dizziness hitting her again randomly. She shuts her eyes, trying to ground herself. 

“Oh, nope, sorry honey. Aunt Marinette has a bit of a headache right now, you’ll have to be easy with her.” She hears Dick say, probably stopping Mar’i from launching herself at her. 

“Can we play ballerina?” Mar’i asks, and Marinette forces herself to open her eyes and look at the girl. Her heart melts at the little pout on the girl’s face and Marinette already knows that this girl is going to have her wrapped around her finger, just like Manon. 

“Sweetie-” Dick starts, but Marinette cuts him off. 

“Why don’t you show me your ballerina moves tonight, and then tomorrow once I’m feeling better, we can play ballerina together?” She suggests, grinning at the look on her niece’s face. 

“Yes, yes, yes!” She squeals, launching herself from Dick’s arms and flying to a different room. 

“Marinette-” Dick starts with a sigh, an unimpressed look on his face. 

“I’ll help her.” Tikki speaks up, flying to be eye level with Dick. “I can’t heal her completely, but I can heal her partially just as I did when Slade stabbed her. But I do have to warn you, if he tries to hurt my Bug again, I will let him see that there is a fate worse than death.” Marinette blinks in surprise at the complete and total rage radiating from her usual cheery friend. She watches as Dick nods in agreement. 

“Better you than me. Bruce can’t yell at you.” He says in an even tone. Marinette’s jaw drops. That was...surprisingly violent for her usually cheery brother. Before she can question him, Mar’i flies back into the room in a pale pink tutu. 

“Ready to see my dances?” She asks, grinning widely. Marinette nods, settling in to spend some time with her newest family members, plans of a new ballet outfit for Mar’i already dancing through her head.

OKAY MY GLACIATOR 2 THOUGHTS:

- Chat noir getting thrown in the bin made me kinda :’(

- as much as I hate ladybug being mad at chat, good for her for standing her ground

- Of all people, I didn’t expect KAGAMI in this episode?? But I’m glad we did and that we got to see her caring for Adrien’s well-being

- Adrien almost getting akumatized???? That was not expected. Why do I feel like that’s forshadowing. Gabe restrained himself this time, but if he’s really desperate, would he actually akumatize adrien???

- Also marinette and Adrien in the park. As soon as that hamster cage appeared I knew it was her imagination agfjajdkv

- It was interesting to see gabe trying to comfort adrien. Like He actually admitted that he’s been distant, so he’s aware that he’s not doing a good job. And smh this man is so fake. “If you ever want to talk I’m here” SHUT UP no you aren’t. It took adrien being so disappointed and heartbroken for you to pay attention to him get outta here. In any other case, adrien would’ve been thrilled to be see his dad expressing concern for him, but his apathy really showed just how hurt he was by the whole ladybug thing. And just wow I thought it was a really interesting scene!!

- The first marichat rehearsal scene was actually amazing I loved it so much. It was so funny

- Post reveal: “wait, so I was ‘buttercup’?”

- AND THEN THEY WENT ON A DATE ahfhajdjnfjdc

- Riding the bus seemed kinda dumb tho, like they really didn’t need to do that, but I understand that they wanted a way for Andre to see them in a somewhat intimate(?) setting idk

- I liked how they were being really honest with themselves in the theater. Rip to the angry guy behind them tho he was just trying to watch lol

- MARICHAT GOT AN UMBRELLA SCENE MARICHAT GOT AN UMBRELLA SCENE MARICHAT GOT AN UMBRELLA SCENE

- It wasn’t that special but it also was okay? IT WAS CUTE LET ME HAVE THIS MOMENT AHFHAJCJSBBCN

- It was weird seeing the battle start and end so late into the episode?? Also really confused on how the heck chat and ladybug knew how to fricken drive a lambo?? Esp thinking back to zombizou when chat tried driving a bus (I mean I know they’re v much not the same thing but it’s still a vehicle neither of them should know how to drive lmao) they were driving a bit too smoothly

- But I liked how they established better boundaries!! Ladybug told him what she’s good with and what isn’t okay, and we see him taking that to heart in the next episodes (tho to be fair, we can’t really be sure bc chat/adrien is also dealing with v conflicting feelings in those episodes too??) I just think it’s interesting how this episode was placed right before hack san and rocketear. The writers want us to see how much he struggles to contain his love for her, just to fracture that love in the next few episodes. We still have yet to see any real consequences from rocketear, but I’m v intrigued.

- chat leaving the battle to return to helping marinette felt like every single marichat fanfic ever ahfhajfjks AND THEN SHE GOT RID OF HER SCRIPT AND SPOKE FROM THE HEART 😭😭😭 and chat’s face as he listened?? I’m just 😭😭😭 he’s NEVER seen this side from marinette before

- AND COME ON he spoke to her as adrien just earlier and saw how she was fumbling with her words. And she told him as chat THAT SHE KEEPS MESSING UP AROUND THE BOY SHE LOVES so??? Cmon piece it together buddy

- But anyway I’m a lil confused. By this point, does adrien know marinette and luka aren’t together anymore?? Bc I wanna know who he thought she was trying to confess to

- But also I can’t stop thinking about how chat noir is adrien. That was adrien right in front of her whom she confessed to. They went to the movies together, they rode the bus together, they walked under an umbrella together. That. Was. Adrien.

- Excuse me as I just *deep breath* AHHHHHHHHH

- Also the way he ran away as soon as her dad called for her 😂😂😂

- Also the last scene, where Adrien’s fired up in fencing again. Idk it felt a lil unclear, did he get his groove back bc of ladybug, or bc of marinette??

- kagami and the manga was p funny too! And I hope marinette saying “you should hang out with me more” actually happens bc I miss seeing kagami ;-;

- “Marinette opened my eyes” you can’t possibly tell me he didn’t start realizing his feelings for marinette after hearing her speak so honestly and being so vulnerable!!!

- Also “whoever the boy is that you love, he’s pretty lucky” KINDA SOUNDS LIKE HE HOPES IT’S HIM IDK

- still sad for alya’s collection of ladynoir photos tho but it’s fine bc she’ll have plenty of that once they get together lol

- And tbh?? I’m upset we didn’t get the “do you like chat noir” conversation between alya and marinette like we all hoped 😭😭 pls stop depriving us 😭😭 pls just have marinette acknowledge her feelings for chat that WE ALL KNOW SHE HAS

- All in all this was a great ep. Every marichat shipper’s dream. My ladynoir heart is slightly bruised but i know everything will come together in the end :’)
