“I never took you for a drinker,” Kaiba said, sidling up to Ishizu who stood by a shop stall that sold mulled wine.

She lowered her glass and looked at him, swallowing. “I’m not. But, tis the season.”

He hummed in agreement, smiling faintly. “I think I’ll join you then.” He made his way to the end of the queue that had formed before the stall and Ishizu moved to stand beside him.

“Is this your first time in Sweden?” he asked.

She shook her head. “No, but my first time for pleasure.”

“I’m glad you chose to join me here then,” he remarked. She offered him a smile.

There are many things I’ve come to enjoy about this country,” he continued.

“You’ve been here, is it a month now?” Ishizu asked.

“That’s right,” he confirmed. “I always wanted to come here for an extended stay. Gozaburo hated this country, so naturally my curiosity was piqued.”

Ishizu chuckled softly. “Understandably.” They shared a smile before taking a step forward in the queue.

“Once we’re done here, I was thinking we could get dinner in Sodermalm? Have you been yet?”

She nodded. “Once many years ago. I’d be happy to pay it another visit.”

They spent the next few minutes going back and forth on restaurants. They settled on a Peruvian place. Kaiba’s turn at the stall arrived. He added a sampler of cheese and crackers to pair with his wine.

“How are your brothers?” Kaiba asked once they found a spot to stand and enjoy their food.

“Well. Marik will be starting his doctorate soon. Hopefully it’ll keep him out of trouble,” she replied.

“What will he be studying?” Kaiba inquired.

“Developmental psychology,” she answered. “Specifically early intervention efforts in mental health.”

He nodded approvingly and offered her something from the sampler. She accepted, now nibbling on a piece of cheese.

“And Mokuba?” she asked upon finishing.

“He’s adjusting to his expanded duties at KC well,” the brunette responded.

"Good to hear." Silence fell between them as they sipped their drinks.

Ishizu was the first to speak. “As pleasantly surprised as I was to hear from you back in July, I’m curious, what made you reach out again in the first place?”

Kaiba swallowed his wine before responding. “I came across one of your articles, and it struck me; my aims were so singular when we first met that I never got to know one of the most intelligent women I’ve probably ever met.”

“So, you’ve come to see value in my field then?” she inquired.

Kaiba nodded, expression growing thoughtful. “The past has been a source of pain for me most of my life, supernatural or otherwise. But I’ve learned to draw strength from it. Similarly, I think the study of history has its place in addressing today’s challenges.”

Ishizu studied him, equally thoughtful. “You’ve grown wise, Kaiba Seto.”

“Hopefully I don’t show it,” he quipped.

She chuckled. “Not at all.” They shared a warm smile.

“Also, I find art is far more enjoyable when considering its history,” he added.

She hummed in agreement. “It brings it to life.”

“I’ve been wanting to visit the photography museum in Folkungagatan,” he began, finishing off his wine. “Would you like to go with me?”

Ishizu smiled up at him brightly and nodded. “Consider it a date.”

what did you do in stockholm! i go there a lot and i’m sooooo invested in what people like to do there

we 1) watched NHL hockey, and 2) wandered around.

We stayed right opposite Central Station which was really handy. Friday night we went to a bar I'd been recommended called Lucy's Flower Shop for drinks, paid nearly £30 for 2, and decided to call it a night. Saturday we wandered around Gamla Stan in the morning and then went to Globen for hockey, then got food from the world's cleanest, calmest McDonalds and ate it in the hotel room. Sunday we wandered around a bit more, ended up in Sodermalm and had an amazing sandwich in a tiny cafe, marvelled at how expensive the vintage stores are, bought nothing, went to get Italian food in Gamla Stan then went to bed. Monday morning I don't even remember where we went, but like every other day it was freezing cold, peaceful, clean and expensive. we got the train to the airport, went through security, had a really nice meal and then waited to board and it was like... serene. I don't know how the Swedes do it but my god what a chill place. going from Stockholm to MANCHESTER AIRPORT was like going from a beautiful mountaintop spa where you're the only person there to fucking Blackpool on a July Saturday. England is hell. HELL

Since we’re talking about Alex lately, I am 99% sure I saw him at a spa in Stockholm while visiting a friend. Grand Hotel, 2nd to last week of Aug. Here I am in a small lounge by the big pool where you are robed up waiting or have recently exited your treatment. 4 chairs in a row, me far left, tall man comes and sits in the far right and we give a nod like when you have to bc you both looked up when you noticed another human is near. I got a few more glances when I could getting up and down to get tea (literally) and then fruit, but was obviously trying not to stare. I wouldn’t swear on my life, but I’m pretty sure it was him. Surprisingly to me there aren’t a lot of men walking around the city who look that much like him, sadly, so I was pretty shocked. I haven’t cared enough to investigate if he was in the area that day. Any Alex fans here feel free to confirm the possibility or deny based on the timing lol, but if I’m wrong I don’t really want to be right. Happy to continue thinking I sat close to him in just a robe and undies or swimwear for 15 glorious minutes.

To top it off, I walked past Alida twice in Sodermalm during a neighborhood fest, 100%. She was with 4 girls (1 Oona for sure), the other possibly the younger one, and what I assume were a couple she was withs girls. The girls were adorable all holding hands skipping and everyone looked super happy. No Bill in sight unfortunately. I told a certain tumblr about the Alida sighting, and she said not possible bc I said the girls were blonde… sry, their hair is super light, and anyone very light brown/dark blonde is blonde to me. My first and last interaction with that tumblr 😆

No pics, I’m not that person, and the spa is of course no phones allowed in the spa areas. That’s it! That’s the tea 😂 a successful trip indeed lol.

just met one of my second cousins (my mom's cousin?) who is like. so eccentric and bourgeois.

he invited me and my other second cousins over for dinner in his extremely swanky huge apartment in sodermalm. he's in his 60s, used to be a journalist and seems to have made quite a lot of money, but he now drives a bus part time for something to do. apparently when he was younger he hired an architect to build a house for his parents but when it was done he didn't like it, and burned the place down (???) and made a documentary about it.

Have watched the other two games I didn't have time for yesterday and can conclude the popcorn value for all three games went through the roof. With Vittsjö stealing their precious 1 point while Piteå lost, Vittsjö frog leaped them on a +3 goal difference. Both teams currently have 43 points and are only 5 points behind 3rd placed Linköping with a mere 4 games to go. Guess which two teams face it off next round? Piteå host Vittsjö. Both teams will be desperate to win and they're both able to defeat each other 😅 🍿
