Featuring the company’s latest BiCS FLASH™ generation 8 3D QLC (quad-level cell) memory and a fast PCIe® 5.0 interface, this cutting-edge drive is designed to meet the exploding data demands of artificial intelligence and machine learning systems.
As enterprises scale up AI workloads—including training large language models (LLMs), handling massive datasets, and supporting vector database queries—the need for efficient, high-density storage becomes paramount. Belém, the capital of Pará and the host city for COP30, the UN conference on climate change to be held in 2025, ranks tenth among the capitals with the highest percentages of the population living with inadequate sanitation. The precarious sanitation situation is a reality in several municipalities in the North and Northeast.
There are 212,370 inhabitants of Belém living with inadequate sanitation, according to the new data from the 2022 Demographic Census released last Friday (23) by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). When asked, the Belém City Hall stated, regarding waste disposal in the city, that with a new tender already concluded, they project improvements in the "management of urban solid waste after 14 years of delay." The government of Pará, on the other hand, mentions new investments and works to improve services.

For the past three days, life had been a whirlwind since I brought Maile to live with me. It felt like a major milestone, almost as significant as the day I decided to reconnect with her after our past parted ways.
As I walked into the office, Reid greeted me warmly. "Hey, Alex! Welcome back."
I had deliberately taken three days off, fully dedicating myself to being with Maile. Every moment was spent getting to know her better, studying her habits and idiosyncrasies. It might sound a bit voyeuristic, but my aim was to truly get to know her, all of her.
I couldn't help but notice how she cradled her glass with both hands, a gesture that echoed innocence, like a child holding onto something precious. And the way she drank, taking small, deliberate sips instead of the usual gulps, was incredibly charming.
"It's good to be back," I replied, my words filled with genuine warmth.
As I made my way over to my desk, I spotted Morgan, JJ, and Garcia already there, their laughter and chatter filling the air. It was like they had their own little bubble of camaraderie, and privacy was nowhere to be found.
"Hey, hey, turtledove," Morgan greeted me with a grin, mischief dancing in his eyes.

Reid, in turn, shared the confidential message with JJ, their heads close together in a secretive huddle. Finally, they broke from their huddle, faces displaying newfound determination, tinged with mischief. With a playful nudge from JJ, Reid stepped forward, ready to deliver their collective conclusion.
"Alright," he began, voice laced with mischief. "After some intense deliberation and analysis of all the facts, we, well, mainly these two," he gestured towards Morgan and JJ with a sly grin, "have come to the conclusion that there must have been... some form of coitus."
I nearly choked on my drink, caught off guard by Reid's bombshell. "And how did you arrive at that conclusion?" I managed to splutter, disbelief evident in my voice.
Once again, my coworkers gathered closely, heads bent as if sharing some secret scheme. Reid stepped forward, taking on the role of spokesperson with a mix of amusement and a hint of embarrassment.
"Considering you two have been living together for three days," Reid began, his words cautious, "it's possible you've had some... opportunities." He shot me a knowing glance before adding, "And Alex, it's been a long time since you were last with someone."
His words hit me like a sucker punch, making me cough on my drink. Morgan nudged Reid forward, silently signaling him to get to the point.
"Yeah, yeah," Reid said to Morgan before turning to me. "And let's not forget, you two are head over heels for each other, like a couple of horny teenage boys ready to jump at anything that moves."
I stayed silent, refusing to give their comments any acknowledgment. Frustration hung heavy in the air as I got up from my seat and moved to the far end of the plane. There, I sought refuge in the quiet corner, determined to distance myself from their teasing and gossip that seemed to fill the cabin.

As the clock struck 9 PM, signaling the end of another long day, the office buzz quieted down. My desk was buried under a mountain of paperwork that seemed to grow by the minute. Looking around, I noticed the usually bustling office was strangely empty. It was just me and Reid, his presence standing out in the deserted workspace. It was unusual, and I couldn't help but wonder where everyone else was.
"Hey Reid, do you know—" I started, but he cut me off, seamlessly blending the end of my sentence into his response.
"Blake, could you hand in my case report?" His voice was urgent as he dropped a stack of papers on my desk and dashed off before I could even react.

As leaders of the future, young people have a major part to play in beating plastic pollution, especially when we know that the age group between 15 and 24 years totals more than 20% of the entire Caribbean population. Youth engagement biodiversity preservation and plastic removal is also crucial since this can contribute to innovative environmental solutions that can nurture societal change in the fight against plastic pollution. Beat Plastic Pollution JA is the UN Jamaica joint project (UNEP, CEP, UNESCO, UNICEF, UN-WOMEN, FAO) in collaboration with “Zero Waste in the Caribbean: New Ways, New Waves” initiative based in Kingston which is intended to highlight student-led plastic pollution initiatives across Jamaica through the following activities:
Activity1: Schools in Kingston, Jamaica will be invited to produce short videos (30 seconds – 1 minute) creatively highlighting initiatives in schools/communities that actively address plastic pollution or projects they wish to see being implemented.
Activity 2: On the morning of World Environment Day - June 5, the United Nations Environment Programme will host a roundtable with youth participants on solutions to plastic pollution. The event will be an opportunity to commemorate World Environment Day 2023.
Activity 3: For the commemoration of Ocean Day 2023 – June 8, during the National Environmental Awareness Week (NEAW) there will be ocean awareness activities geared towards early childhood students that will take place at the Natural History Museum in Jamaica
Activity 4: In September, using the submitted pitch as a launch-pad, experts will share relevant scientific knowledge and encourage students to continue exploring topics related to plastic pollution and environmental protection while providing resources and insights to strengthen their projects. It will also be a unique opportunity for students to ask questions and share their perspectives and for partners to learn more about how young people experience these issues and their solutions to them.

About International Day of Zero Waste
The International Day of Zero Waste aims to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns, support the societal shift towards circularity and raise awareness about how zero-waste initiatives contribute to the advancement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The waste sector contributes significantly to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity and nature loss, and pollution. Humanity generates an estimated 2.24 billion tons of municipal solid waste annually, of which only 55 per cent is managed in controlled facilities. Every year, around 931 million tons of food is lost or wasted and up to 14 million tons of plastic waste enters aquatic ecosystems.
Zero-waste initiatives can foster sound waste management and minimize and prevent waste, helping to address the triple planetary crisis, protect the environment, enhance food security and improve human health and well-being.
