Milan Games Week powered by TIM, svelate le anteprime che faranno divertire ed emozionare gli appassionati di videogiochi

Fervono i preparativi per Milan Games Week powered by TIM, la cui nona edizione è ormai alle porte! In attesa che gli addetti ai lavori si rimbocchino le maniche per completare l’allestimento degli spazi di Fiera Milano Rho e renderla - da venerdì 27 a domenica 29 settembre - la casa di tutti gli appassionati di videogiochi, è tempo di svelare quali titoli animeranno la manifestazione. Durante questo appuntamento tanto atteso sarà possibile scoprire oltre 55 titoli tra cui 22 anteprime assolute per l’Italia e vivere in prima persona alcune delle principali novità del settore presso gli stand degli espositori.

Tra i titoli che gli appassionati potranno vedere per la prima volta dal vivo durante i tre giorni del principale consumer show italiano dedicato ai videogiochi, spiccano nomi imperdibili:

DOOM Eternal (Bethesda Softworks): lo sparatutto in prima persona di id Software che combina velocità e potenza giocabile in anteprima per il pubblico italiano. Basato sul motore grafico idTech 7 e arricchito da una nuovissima colonna sonora, DOOM Eternal mette il giocatore nei panni dell'inarrestabile DOOM Slayer per fare a pezzi demoni vecchi e nuovi in mondi mai visti prima;

Dragon Quest XI S: Echi di un'era perduta - Edizione definitiva (Nintendo): nuovo RPG della serie DRAGON QUEST che introduce battaglie a turni perfettamente bilanciate e un elevatissimo numero di attività ambientate in un incantevole mondo sconfinato;

Dreams (Sony Interactive Entertainment): il nuovo atteso videogioco di Media Molecule in esclusiva per PlayStation®4 (PS4™). Ogni elemento, ogni personaggio, ogni oggetto dipende soltanto dalla forza creativa del giocatore che crea i propri giochi, compone la propria musica, scolpisce i suoi personaggi, racconta le sue storie e rendi reali i propri sogni;

FIFA 20 (Electronic Arts): in FIFA 20 quest'anno è presente una nuova modalità di gioco, VOLTA Football, che permette un'immersione totale nel calcio di strada e di creare il proprio calciatore virtuale con cui esprimere il proprio stile di gioco, oltre a tante novità e un nuovo approccio al gameplay che alza ulteriormente l'asticella della qualità e migliora l'esperienza di gioco;

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE (Koch Media/Square Enix): è una rivisitazione dell'iconico gioco originale, che ha ridefinito il genere RPG e che esplora ancora più in profondità il suo mondo e i suoi personaggi. Il primo capitolo di questo progetto è ambientato nell'eclettica città di Midgar e presenta un'esperienza di gioco completamente autonoma offrendo un ottimo punto di partenza e permettendo così di tuffarsi più a fondo negli eventi di Midgar rispetto al gioco originale. Insieme a personaggi indimenticabili e a una storia potente, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE presenta un sistema di battaglia ibrido che unisce azione in tempo reale con combattimenti strategici basati sui comandi. I visitatori potranno finalmente entrare nel mondo di FINAL FANTASY VII per la primissima volta con i sottotitoli in italiano;

GRID (Koch Media): Codemasters invita il giocatore a sfrecciare nelle GRID World Series con il suo nuovo, divertentissimo racing giocabile per la prima volta in Italia. Fernando Alonso, uno dei piloti automobilistici di maggior successo dell'era moderna tra F1, Endurance e Stock racing, è Race Consultant di questo titolo imperdibile. Gareggia col cuore e competi in gare intense ed adrenaliniche con le auto da corsa più iconiche e desiderabili, come la Porsche 911 RSR e la Ferrari 488 GTE nella classe GT, in alcuni dei luoghi più iconici del mondo: Havana, Shanghai, San Francisco, Indianapolis e molti altri;

Just Dance 2020 (Ubisoft): Il franchise videoludico musicale n.1 di sempre, con oltre 67 milioni di copie vendute, tornerà questo autunno. Il nuovo Just Dance, rinnovato per l'occasione, festeggia 10 anni di balli con 40 nuovi brani di successo, nuovi fantastici universi e sorprese esclusive da scoprire;

Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle e il complotto dei milionari (Nintendo): il professor Layton è scomparso e tocca a sua figlia Katrielle, una giovane arguta e coraggiosa con il talento di scoprire la verità anche quando le prove scarseggiano, entrare in azione;

Luigi's Mansion 3 (Nintendo): la vacanza di Luigi si trasforma in un incubo a base di fantasmi. Dopo essere stato invitato in un hotel di lusso, Luigi parte per una vacanza con Mario e amici. Ma il suo sogno si trasforma rapidamente in un incubo quando Re Boo svela che l'invito era una trappola per catturare Mario e gli altri;

Mario & Sonic ai Giochi Olimpici di Tokyo 2020 (Nintendo): unendosi a Mario, Sonic e i loro amici il giocatore può vivere per l’avventura più grande di sempre ai Giochi olimpici di Tokyo 2020. Tra i vari sport, spiccano quattro nuovi eventi: skateboard, karate, surf e arrampicata sportiva, oltre a un'ampia selezione di eventi classici;

Marvel’s Avengers (Koch Media/Square Enix): Marvel’s Avengers è un gioco di azione-avventura in terza persona guidato dalla storia. I giocatori dovranno riunire e ricostruire la loro gamma di Avengers prima giocando l’originale campagna singolo giocatore, poi combattendo, da soli o online in compagnia di amici, in muove missioni per tutto il globo. Potranno inoltre personalizzare gli Eroi Più Potenti della Terra e controllare i loro unici poteri per difendere il pianeta da minacce sempre maggiori negli anni a venire;

Marvel’s Iron Man VR (Sony Interactive Entertainment): un’avventura firmata Sony Interactive Entertainment, Camouflaj e Marvel, in esclusiva per PlayStation®VR, che calerà il giocatore all’interno dell’armatura di Iron Man per affrontare – con il supporto del PS Move - i più grandi nemici del supereroe Marvel in sfide ad alta quota e battaglie piene di azione;

MediEvil (Sony Interactive Entertainment): per rivivere su PS4 Pro le avventure di Sir Daniel Fortesque nel remake di MediEvil, uno dei titoli di maggior successo della prima PlayStation. L’imbranato Sir Daniel risorge dalla tomba, presentandosi sul campo di battaglia con un’armatura e le sue sole ossa: sarà la sua occasione per vendicarsi dello stregone Zarok e salvare il regno di Gallowmere;

Nioh 2 (Sony Interactive Entertainment): in esclusiva per PS4, in arrivo il secondo capitolo del soulslike di Team Ninja, ambientato nel Giappone del XVI secolo. In questo GDR caratterizzato da scontri contro umani e demoni, il giocatore veste i panni di un antico guerriero che, dominando i vari stili di combattimento e imparando a conoscere il proprio nemico, è destinato a diventare un valoroso samurai;

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Nintendo): la foresta di Nibel sta morendo. Dopo che una forte tempesta dà il via a una serie di eventi devastanti, Ori deve partire e trovare il coraggio di affrontare un oscuro nemico e salvare la foresta;

Pandemic (Nintendo): con questo gioco e i suoi DLC acquistabili a parte, basati sulle apprezzate espansioni, il giocatore ferma la diffusione di quattro malattie e le cura tutte, in singolo o in multiplayer locale per quattro giocatori;

Pokèmon Spada e Pokèmon Scudo (Nintendo): un'avventura Pokèmon RPG tutta nuova in cui il giocatore è invitato a scoprire Galar, un'ampia regione con una grande varietà di ambientazioni, da pacifiche campagne e moderne città a dense foreste e montagne innevate;

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition (Nintendo): vincitore di oltre 250 premi come gioco dell'anno, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt è un'avventura open world ambientata in un universo dark fantasy, in cui il giocatore veste i panni del cacciatore di mostri mercenario Geralt di Rivia;

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint (Ubisoft): uno sparatutto militare che offre uno splendido mondo aperto, giocabile in solo o in co-op fino a 4 giocatori. Ferito, senza supporto, braccato da ex-Ghost e sperduto su Auroa, il giocatore dovrà lottare per sopravvivere al più temibile nemico mai affrontato.

E i grandi giochi che si potranno provare a Milan Games Week powered by TIM non finiscono qui: grazie a 2K sarà possibile provare Borderlands 3 e NBA 2K20, mentre Activision sarà presente con Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled e Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Koch Media avrà postazioni dedicate a F1 2019 e MotoGP 19, mentre i fan di Nintendo potranno divertirsi con The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening, Super Smash Bros. Milan Games Week powered by TIM sarà anche il momento in cui vivere incredibili esperienze legate ad alcuni dei titoli che animeranno le giornate degli appassionati nei prossimi mesi, momenti in cui, pur senza provarli in prima persona, sarà possibile immergersi nelle atmosfere di giochi tanto attesi:

Cyberpunk 2077 (Bandai Namco Entertainment): un'avventura a mondo aperto ambientata a Night City, una megalopoli ossessionata da potere, moda e modifiche cibernetiche. Il giocatore veste i panni di V, un mercenario alla ricerca di un impianto unico in grado di conferire l'immortalità. E, in occasione della prossima edizione della manifestazione, a Fiera Milano Rho aprirà per la prima volta in Italia il Cyberpunk 2077 World – uno stand in cui sarà possibile vivere alcune delle iconiche scene catturate nei primi trailer del titolo;

Death Stranding (Sony Interactive Entertainment): dal leggendario Hideo Kojima, un’esperienza di gioco per PS4 che sfida ogni definizione di genere. In un futuro non troppo lontano, il mondo è sconvolto da eventi soprannaturali chiamati Death Stranding. Sam Porter Bridges dovrà attraversare una terra desolata per cercare di salvare il genere umano dall'annientamento. A Milan Games Week powered by TIM sarà possibile saperne di più su questo titolo tanto atteso vivendo un trailer nel teatro dello stand PlayStation;

Watch Dogs Legion (Ubisoft): il teatro dello stand PlayStation ospiterà anche la demo giocata da alcuni esponenti del team che ha sviluppato questo titolo ambientato in un futuro molto vicino, in cui Londra sta affrontando il totale declino. La gente è oppressa da corrotti opportunisti e tocca al giocatore costruire una resistenza per restituire la città al popolo. Con un’intera popolazione di possibili reclute e la tecnologia della città a portata di mano, sarà necessario hackerare, infiltrarsi e lottare per una Londra libera.

Soundtrack Update

Tomorrow will bring another batch of soundtracks going onto eBay, for which I will make a post when they go up. For those of you looking to keep convenient track of these, here is a link to my seller page so you can see all of whatever I have up at any given time. The first batch of CDs still has a little over 4 days to go!

Some of you have asked questions. Questions are good! They show that I’m more interesting than annoying, mostly.

Do these soundtracks contain spinecards (obi)? Most of them do. Some may have been acquired without them or I may have misplaced them in the very early days of my collecting. If this is a deal-breaker, ask about any CD you need to.

Can you combine shipping? You sure can. I’ll be more than happy to send multiple CDs and charge only the total amount of shipping.

Is there a full list of all the soundtracks that will be auctioned? There is now. I have painstakingly written down the names of each of the soundtracks to be auctioned, 238 in total. It was a little less than I thought; some of them took up large space on the shelves and skewed my calculations. For the sake of your dashboard, the full list is under the cut.

COLA | C5: RICHER THAN GOD & TWICE AS PRETTY

“my albums are all different colours,” cory osada, best known as cola, once said. “i pick a colour and i build a record around it.”

according to the teen-rapper turned young-adult-superstar, his debut effort pretty everlasting is green. f5abb5, album number two, is the exact shade of pink it’s title references the hex code to. the tertiary icon is the colour of a rose gold iphone, and this spring’s russian doll is redder than coke cans. so where does that leave his new release richer than god & twice as pretty? well, we asked.

“it’s a mood ring under a strobe light.” he told us. 

 the title is blasphemy to such a ridiculous degree that it cannot truly be taken as offensive, it’s fifteen tracks of unrelenting synthpop marked with sleepy time vocals and bratty rap segments. the lyrics are truthful, funny and often sad. it’s the cola persona dialled up to 11 for the first time in years, and as cola said, it’s an album to party to. tracks such as ‘call me mom’, ‘mommy’s busy’, ‘back on my bullshit’ and title track ‘the craft’ push that aspect to the forefront, with masterfully crafted dance beats (if cola has shown anything in his six year career, it’s that he knows how to create a great pop song.)  and self-assured, witty lyrics. the lyrical matter finds it’s footing in the nightlife of seoul, the backdrop of much of cola’s musical canon, and indeed the backdrop of much of the life he’s shown us; cola came up through the clubs, and now he is writing love letters to them. 

“there’s always been a story.” cola says. “all four main albums, i’ve always been telling some kind of story, there’s always like... an overarching theme. and russian doll was addressing some really personal, scary, deep-rooted things. i got it all out of my system, and when i was singing songs from it, i started to think of the version of me i was writing them about, this like... sixteen year old kid, covered head to toE in glitter and baggy t-shirts, performing in clubs he’s too young to be in and looking for the shoes he’d refused to perform in, and i was like, y’know what? i’m gonna give that kid a comeback. i’m gonna make the record he would have made if he had the resources i have now.” 

title track ‘the craft’ is textbook cola, by now- the dance-synth pounds as he pokes fun at his naysayers, the 90′s movie reference provided a wink of context  by the black magic motif of the lyrics. ‘i wanna feel bad but i’m so great at it that i don’t feel much’ he taunts after a warning shot of a verse, a formal caution to keep cola’s name out of your mouth. the thesis of richer than god & twice as pretty is summed up best in the first bar of his rap segment, however, ‘big boy boutta turn 23, & since sixteen it’s been a real ass whirlwind / it’s been rough, but i work with it, cause i’m tough, fit, a renaissance bitch’

the throwback aspect provides power to tracks ‘breathe in’ and ‘sonic adventure 2′, the former comforts it’s listener in guided meditation, structured to hit after a soft, video-game-esque musical interlude (dedicated to the star’s recently deceased beloved pet rats) that succeeds ‘i have a ritalin prescription’, a frantic party song that apexes on cola singing out a panic attack as he seeks his meds. ‘you know you got it’ cola whispers to his young self on ‘breathe in’; ‘ima summon up the power in you.’ meanwhile, ‘sonic adventure 2′, a self-referential fan-favourite anthem, teasingly samples cola’s debut song ‘tbh tho,,,’ as quick as the lyrics request ‘i got a past, do we really gotta bring it up?”

‘11:11′ seems to bring us to cola today, age twenty two, singing dreamily of a new romance- and in a few ways, the ingenue-sweet love lyrics seem more familiar to the feeling of first listening to cola back in 2013 than the album’s memoir. backed by a romantic, 00′s sounding bassline and a sweet guitar riff, cola’s gentle vocal delivery is not in the slightest difficult to compare to the bedroom-made love songs that first catapulted him to fame- and to those who have listened to him from the beginning, it provides a warm source of comfort. ‘oh darling, i’ve spent a long time shaking the blues. and oh darling, i’d do it all again to make it to you.’ cola swears, and it’s hard not to think of the teenage boy who once brought us lines about loving his hometown of new york only for all the bridges he can jump off. cola is grown and he is happy, and the public have watched him struggle to get there, and it’s difficult not to feel warm about it. 

despite being designed to be a foil to the raw open wound of russian doll, richer than god & twice as pretty, in all of it’s experimental, radio unfriendly synth pop, feels like the most genuine, unfiltered look into the life of cory osada we’ve ever gotten. the presentation may be all cola, but cory is firmly at the helm, and he’s telling us who he is as easily as he tells us who he wants to have been.  

by putting the emphasis for his record on the “pop” part of “synth pop” – that is, on the aspect which takes the most honing and technical skill – cola has made something personal and accomplished, which feels like it totally enacts his vision. richer than god, therefore, is the combined result of smart instincts, and hard work: two principles which anchor every great musician. cola has been one of those for a longer than the media have been willing to admit, but this is definitive proof.

Ability: Battery Static Effect: Allies within 3 m of the user gain a +5 bonus to damage rolls for Special Moves. * Charjabug

Ability: Battle Bond Daily - Free Action Prerequisite: Battle Bond can only be taken as an Ability and used if the user has Loyalty 6. A Battle Bond form of the Pokemon will be made up to the discretion of the GM and the player. When making the form, the player will pick a Move signature to their Pokemon to be boosted in the form. The nature of the buff is also up to the discretion of the GM and the player. Trigger: The user faints an opponent Effect: The user changes into its Battle Bond form. If the user is fainted or the encounter ends, it will revert back to its original form. Battle Bond cannot be replaced by a Move or Ability (such as Worry Seed or Mummy), nor can it be copied onto another Pokemon (such as with Trace). * Canonically Greninja, but has been written to include any Pokemon.

Episode VIII kicks off in the second round of the 1998 playoffs where the Chicago Bulls are facing the Charlotte Hornets.  The Bulls won game one, but game two was different.  On the Hornets was B.J. Armstrong, a former Bulls point guard who won three championships in 1991, 1992, and 1993.  Armstrong’s knowledge of the team and how they function helped in game two and the Hornets ended up winning, thanks to a great game by Armstrong.  From that game on, Jordan made it a mission to shut down Armstrong and shut down the Hornets, and he did just that.  The Bulls won the next three games and won the series in five games. 

We then jump back to March 1995, where Jordan is still playing baseball.  There was a Major League Baseball strike that year and rather than delay or cancel the season, the MLB decided to fill the teams with replacement players from the minor leagues.  Jordan, still playing for the minor league Double-A team of the Chicago White Sox, the Birmingham Barons, was not going to be a part of that.  During his time off, Jordan would show up to Bulls practices, first to see everyone and be friendly, but then he actually started practicing with the team.  People were speculating if he was coming back or if he was just bored.  Nobody knew what he was doing until he sent out what is arguably the greatest press release in sports history.  In one fax and two words, the release read, “I’m back.”  That was all Jordan needed to shake up the sports world.

The 1995 Bulls weren’t doing so hot.  They were 34-31 without Jordan and were in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.  When Jordan came back, this time donning the number 45 rather than the 23 he wore previously, it was the spark they needed to make the playoffs.  Though it took him a little bit to get his touch back, less than a week back into basketball he his a game-winning shot in Atlanta, and then a few days later dropped 55 points against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. 

The playoffs weren’t the same this time around for the Bulls.  In the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, the Bulls faced the Orland Magic, a young and talented team that featured the dynamic duo of Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway, and former Bulls power forward Horace Grant.  The Magic won game one of the series thanks to two last-second turnovers by Jordan, an unprecedented thing to see from the legend.  After the game, Magic guard Nick Anderson said, “45 isn’t 23”, referring to Jordan and his game.  The next game, Jordan comes out in the number 23 jersey and the Bulls won.  The Bulls ended up losing the series the Magic in six games and Jordan was not happy with his performance.  His conditioning was off, as he was baseball shape and not basketball shape.  His game was also off, which is why when the offseason came, Jordan immediately went back to work to get his body right.

That summer, Jordan was shooting Space Jam for Warner Bros.  Because he was so determined to get back into basketball shape, Jordan demanded a place to practice and to work out in-between shooting.  On the Warner Bros. lot they built what was called “The Jordan Dome” which featured a full basketball court, as well as different types of workout equipment.  After shooting Space Jam during the day, Jordan, along with some of the best players in the NBA, would play pick-up games for almost three hours in the Jordan Dome.  NBA Hall of Fame guard Reggie Miller said that those were, “the best games.”  It gave Jordan his legs and his game back, but also allowed him to study new, younger players and understand their games.

The 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls training camp looked a little different from when Jordan left the team.  New guys like Steve Kerr, Luc Longley, and Bill Wennington were now on the team and Jordan felt they had to earn their place playing on a three-time-championship team.  During a scrimmage, Jordan was talking trash to Steve Kerr and it got so heated that Kerr punched Jordan in the chest and Jordan puncher Kerr in the eye.  From that point on, Kerr had Jordan’s respect.

The 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls were arguably the greatest basketball team ever assembled.  They broke the single season record for wins, going 72-10 for that season, and were steamrolling opponents during the playoffs.  They faced the Seattle Supersonics in the NBA Finals, a matchup many considered to be, “the greatest mismatch in NBA history.”  The Bulls won the first three games handedly and it was looking like it was going to be a sweep.  Seattle Supersonics coach George Karl decided it was time for guard Gary Payton to guard Jordan in an attempt to slow him down.  Payton, who had just won Defensive Player of Year that year, was up for the challenge.  With Payton on Jordan, the Sonic’s won the next two games.  Payton says he was breaking Jordan down and getting him tired and that is why he was successful.  Jordan, watching a video of Payton’s interview, laughs at this notion, claiming he didn’t break him down, but that he had other things on his mind.

The 1995-1996 season was the first time Jordan played basketball without his father being there, after he was killed in 1993.  It was an emotional and tough season for him and every game was tougher and tougher.  Game 6 of the NBA Finals landed on Father’s Day in Chicago and the Bulls were up 3-2 in the series.  The Bulls won the game and Jordan was overcome with emotion.  The win was great, but winning on Father’s Day without his dad for the first time his something harder.  We see footage of Jordan on the floor after the game, wearing a championship hat, holding a basketball, and wallowing.  Tears flowed from his face and every emotion he has felt all season came to a head.  It’s a powerful, heartbreaking moment that showed the love he had for his father and how important his father was to him and his love of basketball.

The Razer Raiju mobile controller for Android phones which was announced in October alongside the Razer Phone 2 is now available to order online. The Raju mobile controller comes with a docking system for most Android phones and can rotate up to 60 degrees for adjustment.

Other features of the controller include four re-mappable buttons, a hair trigger mode for rapid fire, and a dedicated mode switch button that lets you switch connectivity modes and paired devices. Users will able to connect their Android phone via Bluetooth or the USB-C cable included in the box. A single battery charge will give you up to 23 hours playtime. The Razer Phone 2, is now available to order online for $150. The controller can be ordered online here or in stores at select retailers starting early next year.
