A Shoreline Dream ft. Mark Gardener - Hollow Crown

Riding a beautiful wave of collaboration with Ride frontman Mark Gardener, Colorado-based postpunk / shoegaze trailblazers A Shoreline Dream presents their newvideo for'Hollow Crown' feat. Mark Gardener. Apart from contributing vocals and guitar, this release entails a full-on collaboration - from co-writing and recording through to co-production - between Gardener and A Shoreline Dream frontman Ryan Policky.

Earlier the two presented two collaborative singles'Everything Turns' and 'Written In Dust', both reverie-laced trips revealed as part of A Shoreline Dream's new 'Whitelined' album - their eighth full-length record to date.

“Ryan wouldn't have had a clue what was going to happen until I got the tunes from him. That was the starting point and Ryan sent me quite a few different tunes and instrumentals that he was pulling together. Out of those, there was two or three which I just suddenly latched on to and obviously the first one that really drove and led the way was 'Everything Turns'. For me, that's kind of perfect because I like to live in the present," says Mark Gardener.

"Obviously I love being in Ride, but that is also tricky because we have a catalogue, so we have to kind of live in the past sometimes, as well as being present. So I actually love being in my OX4 Soundstudio, which I created a few years ago, and to be sent music like this. This was a real treat and it's an honour to be tasked with trying to sit and marry words with music in a way that hopefully feels that they've always been there and have always been meant to be there".

Tag 11 - Hallo Oslo

Unser erster vollständiger Tag in Oslo startet mit einem prächtigen Frühstück bestehend aus Burger mit Ei, Avocado, karamellisierten Zwiebeln und Bacon, geplant und mit Unterstützung durchgeführt von Chef Finn.

Während der Tagesplanung bilden sich drei Gruppen: Schlendertruppe Tim und Nadine, Moderne Kunst mit David, Yoa, Mieke und Gruppe Fram, bestehend aus Finn, Felix, Matze und Julian.

Vollständig gesättigt ziehen die Gruppen in alle Himmelsrichtungen Oslos los um die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir, die Gruppe Fram, fahren mit der Buslinie 30 auf die Halbinsel Bogdøy um uns das Fram-Museum genauer anzuschauen, welches unter anderem ein norwegischen Polarschiff, das in den Jahren von 1893–1912 genutzt wurde, beherbergt.

Mit glühenden Synapsen verlassen wir das didaktisch anspruchsvolle Museum und begeben uns als letzte zum Fika-Treffpunkt in einem kleinen Café. Gestärkt geht es weiter und alle außer der Schlendertruppe, die sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon bestens in der Gegend auskennt, schauen sich auf dem Operngebäude etwas um.

Anschließend geht es weiter in die Bibliothek, die auch als eine Art Technologiezentrum fungiert. Dort befinden sich neben Büchern und Filmen auch allerhand Gerätschaften, darunter zum Beispiel 3D-Drucker, Lasercutter, Nähmaschinen, Soundstudios, Workstations für Grafikdesign und so weiter. Sehr beeindruckend!

Weiter geht's in eine Mall, durch Shops für Küchenzubehör und am Ende auch Kosmetik bei der Yoa auch seinen neuen Lieblingsglitzer-Lidschatten direkt ausprobiert. Der Tag neigt sich dem Ende zu und wir besuchen eine Pizzeria, die alle voll überzeugt! Matze rundet beim Bezahlen für alle, verwirrt durch den Umrechnungskurs, großzügig um 9 NOK auf 2650 NOK auf... etwa 50 Euro-Cent. Wir erklären der Bedienung den Fauxpas, und dass wir sehr zufrieden waren. Mit großem Gelächter verlassen wir die Pizzeria und spazieren bei Dunkelheit in unser Appartement.

Yoa und Julian haben an diesem Tag auch noch ein neues Gedicht auswendig gelernt, welches sie hier gerne mit der Leserschaft teilen möchten:
