Ian Kaleldata submitted:
"Lady Spellbinder. She first appeared in Detective Comics #691, by Chuck Dixon, Staz Johnson, & Scott Hana."
She looks like an action figure broken at her torso in the second panel. Also her costume looks like she forgot to put on pants and said "whatever, I have illusion powers, I'll just make people think I'm wearing pants". Or maybe she's a fan of the original Robin.
She does have very cool energy tho. Just forgot to put on pants xD

I've never thought about this too much, but the villains on The Batman (2004) are really interesting. They chose to use some really obscure ones, like Cluemaster and Spellbinder. Who even thinks of Cluemaster and Spellbinder that often? Not really me, but it's fun to see someone thought of them. And made them interestingly bizarre. Their Cluemaster adaption is fascinating (but just hard to describe adequately), and their Spellbinder design sort of reminds me of Doctor Strange or something. Their art team was really clever, honestly.
I still think of The Brave and The Bold as a better show, but that's just because I like comedy and silly stuff more than serious adventure and action focused stuff. But the 2004 show is still way better than Btas, because it feels like it gets to the action a lot faster. Btas has more suspense vibes, while Batman (2004) usually gets into the action pretty quick. And their action is always really fun, which is great. So yeah. I feel like the show is just underrated.

DC Batman Beyond
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, remember about a month ago back in February there was originally a pitch for Batman Beyond movies created by the guy who made Across the Spider-Verse. If we ever get a Batman Beyond animated which I really do hope so, since he definitely a character alongside his supporting cast and villain that deserve to be on the big screen movie.
I decided to pitch character that should be in the Batman Beyond movies.
Main Character:
-Terry Mcginnis as the Main Batman -An older and retired Bruce Wayne (Batman) -Ace the Bathounds
Supporting Cast:
-Warren Mcginnis (Terry Father/ Flashback scene) -Matt Mcginnis (Terry Little Brother) -Mary Mcginnis (Terry Mother) -Maxine “Max” Gibson (Terry Best friends) -Dana Tan (Terry Girlfriends) -Commissioner Barbara Gordon of GCPD
Villains:
-Spellbinder (Main Villains) -Blight (Secondary Antagonist) -Inque (third antagonist)

So believe it or not I actually finished C Listers and now we’re on to part two! The Arkham saga is going to be big so I wanted to give it its own story.
And here it is! Part two of C Listers!

Batman Legends: Spellbinder
Delbert Billings first appeared in 1966, though many have taken up the name since. He is a villain-of-the-week who uses special hypnotic devices in order to create illusions and place people under mind control. His most prominent adaptation was in Batman Beyond.
In an adaptation, I'd certainly consider including him in a Batman Beyond series, even though Blight, Inque, and the Jokerz are top of my list for villains there. Simon Baker is a possible casting for the character.

Spellbinder on The Bat man (2004) is cooler than Spellbinder on Batman Beyond. I hate Batman Beyond, so this opinion is impossible to change. But I shouldn't be alone in this. Have you seen Spellbinder on Batman Beyond? Just a disgusting mess of orange and black spirals. I could've drawn that as a kid, and the orange hurts my eyes! At least the 2004 show makes him more than just an illusionist and hypnotist.
The 2004 show makes Spellbinder feel like an Baron Mordo from Marvel. A man who learned magic from the ancient mystics of asia, he now uses it to commit crime and try to make himself all powerful. He's always levitating, he seems to wear a gray skintight disguise for his true facial features, he has a creepy third eye in the centre of his head, he's fascinating. They only used him once, but he could've been something truly magical. I think they should use this character more often. Spellbinder is one of those C-list batman foes you always forget about, but he can really be something special with a good script and concept.
