i think that we should all give just a little more slack to the sphinx of black quartz, first off i doubt that’s their job to judge vows all day, secondly we don’t need to be saying the full name every time and demanding. we can do a little better than this

Since I’ve kinda been hyperfixating on my digitwst AU, I decided to teach myself digimoji! Which if you don’t know, is digimon’s made up alphabet. There’s two versions, one for Japanese Kana and one for the Latin alphabet, I’ve been teaching myself the Latin one because I don’t know Japanese so there’s no real point for the most part

First off, here’s the Latin digimoji that I got from Wikimon:

I understand why Brennan chose the pangram he used - "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" - but it would have been so much funnier if the guy had to quickly draw "sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow" or "the five boxing wizards jump quickly".

I really feel for Brennan because I too tried to give my players a fun word puzzle to translate some ancient texts. Made sure to include a diagetic key in the form of recovered texts from a centuries-old fictional in-universe scholar writing about these even more ancient texts, including a phrase which, when translated by that scholar, read "sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow". Printed out all of that and gave it out to my players over the course of several investigation checks at multiple locations. Then one of my players reminded me he can just cast comprehend languages. Whelp.

I know the intended interpretation of "sphinx of black quartz judge my vow" is probably like, that the sphinx is judging the answer to a riddle or something, but my personal reading is "the sphinx of black quartz is officiating the speaker's wedding, but she's being kind of a prick about it"
