Intanto a Veracruz in Messico, Rafael è tornato a casa dopo una serata di bagordi al bar con gli amici. Appena accende la luce sua moglie Daniela comincia a urlare e a colpirlo con una pentola. Rafa tenta di salvarsi dai colpi ma è troppo ubriaco e così si prende una decina di padellate sulla testa mentre cade in ginocchio. Nello stesso momento poco distante da Tromsø in Norvegia, due auto stanno dietro a un camion che apre loro la strada verso il capoluogo: ieri notte ha nevicato un po' e le strade sono scivolose. Nessuno supera i 40 all'ora. Intanto a Valona in Albania, degli operai stanno posando le lastre del marciapiede attorno alla provinciale, c'è ancora poco traffico. Quando passa un TIR, suona il clacson per salutarli. Il lavoro deve essere finito entro tre giorni, ma un carico di lastre è in ritardo e probabilmente bisognerà fare degli straordinari.

Street photography attempt, Aberystwyth. Holga 120. Expired Fujichrome 100D.

This roll of Fujichrome has been waiting in my fridge for a number of years and was expired when I bought it from eBay. That probably accounts for the degradation that is visible on these shots.

As I was using slide film I was conscious of the lighting available on the narrow streets of Aberystwyth. The pride flag in the pub window caught my eye. As did a "double slot" postbox. Again. i waited for people to walk across the frame before snapping the shot.

These are the shots I did not deem worthy of consideration when deciding what to send to The Daily Holga.

Perhaps I could have chosen the photo of the people crossing the road and I do like the film end.

These attempts at street photography have inspired me to submit work to Holga Week this month. Watch this space.
