#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . Ukrainian forces have stabilized the situation in Sumy Oblast and pushed the Russian army further away from Sumy, the region’s capital, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on June 30.

Moscow launched its new summer campaign in May, aiming to push deeper into Ukraine’s northeastern and eastern regions and disregarding Kyiv’s calls for an unconditional ceasefire.

Ukrainian troops advanced near the village of Oleksiivka, located less than 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the city of Sumy, and liberated the village of Andriivka, which had been captured by Russia in early June, the statement read.

In the meantime, Ukraine also stopped the Russian advance along the Yunakivka-Yablunivka-Novomykolayivka-Oleksiivka-Kindrativka line and the border with Russia near Kursk Oblast, according to the General Staff.

Holodomor Museum keeps the memory of innocent Ukrainians killed with the man-made famine (known as Holodomor, the Great Famine of 1932-1933) organized by the soviet government. The number of the dead in the genocide varies from 4,5 to 10 million people, according to different researchers.

My late grandma remembered this horror for all her life. She was 8 that time. Her smaller sisters and brothers, 4 kids in our family, died from hunger in Holodomor. I remember that my grandma kept the packages full of dry bread in the nightstand till her last day.

Russians enjoy torturing Ukrainians

During the last exchange, Ukraine received the body of the mayor of Dniprorudne, who was tortured by the Russians.

The city is located in the Zaporizhzhia region and was seized by the occupiers in February 2022. Yevhen Matveev, mayor, was held captive for 2 years and 8 months
