House of the Dragon s2. It's strange to me how much better it was over s1. All the characters finally being mature and making realm-altering decisions contributed to it, as much some of the dumb unbelievable dragon fight scenes almost ruined it. Not about CGI, more about tactics and decisions, but whatever the dialogue rules and old Game of Thrones is finally back.

VIDEO GAME

WOW Season of Discovery. I quit playing around May because it was too good and I needed to focus on other things. The absolute best interation of shaman and best class I've ever played in any MMO ever. Troll shaman is my alter ego.

Dead by Daylight. Again and again this game is perfect to me.

HackNet was a fairly good gem of a find this year. All the muscle memory of DOS commands still there from me being a little ass 7 year old playing on my Dad's computer is insane to me.

BOOK

Blacktongue Thief. Daughters' War. Christopher Buehlman is a personal hero for having written these books.

Josh Ambercrome - First Law Trilogy. The most grimdark book I have ever read and will probably ever read. This is one of the best examples of using the point-of-view of a character to get you to generally like them or relate to them… but then you step back and think and say no no no these people are fucking ALL awful what the fuck? Even though it was a delight to read these people are ALL generally awful.

The Wringer. Young adult or kids book, but a friend said it was her favorite book so hell with it it's only a 4-5 hour read easy enough. Such great themes of peer pressure from friends, parents, and society. Push against it to do what's right. Standing up for yourself and your morales. Learning who your real and true friends are. Using the pigeons for an analogy of racism or prejudice. What a great book.

King of the Wylds. It's a medieval fantasy book about a bunch of old ass has-been adventurers who come out of retirement to go on a quest to save one of their warrior-daughters who bit off more than she could chew. It's simeoultaneous super funny and very deep. The sequel was fucking awful and we don't discuss that.

Orconomics Trilogy. I enjoyed the constant medieval fantasy analogies to various financial collapses since the 1900s with dumb medieval investments. "If we all invest in the dragon's horde what happens when we actually get it and discover it can't possible pay us what it's worth." Just one speculative bubble after another. If he writes a 4th book it's going to be about crypto-crash and the Tesla bubble popping.

Looking back on this year I read A LOT of books. Finished WOT, Red Rising series, Stephen King Fairy Tale, Stephen King Talisman, Dean K Intensity, Ms. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, The Catcher in the Rye, The Lesser Dead, Between Two Fires, Those Across the River, King's Dark Tidings (didn't finish, fucking trash), Cleat Cute (didn't finish, was porn), Dungeon Crawler Carl, and Stephen King's It (didn't finish, too fucking violent).

Molly especially is hurting from losing Fred, it’s bringing up memories of her younger brothers, who she never took the time to fully grieve for

Percy is back home after leaving the Ministry, Charlie is home for the summer, Ginny is home before her finally year of school, Harry is staying with them as he’s part of the family (and none of the Weasleys will allow him to leave), Ron and Hermione are in Australia, and George can barely get out of his childhood bedroom

Bill and Fleur come around often together, but Fleur comes around more on her own

She’s keeping the house functioning while Molly is grieving, doing all the things no one thinks about

Charlie helps her with the chickens and Percy is taking care of the vegetable patch and Harry keeps the gnomes out of the garden

Ginny helps a little in the kitchen, but Fleur/Charlie/Percy are doing most of the cooking

Fleur and Ginny are starting to build a relationship over shared glasses of wine and stories of their childhoods

Charlie and Percy get to actually know their new sister in this time and build a friendship

(Percy and Fleur grow close this summer despite Bill’s annoyance)

At the end of August, around Percy’s birthday, they have a big party, a sort of celebration of the end of the summer and also Percy coming back to the family and the joke shop reopening under Percy’s care, Ron and Hermione coming home, and also Ginny’s seventeenth birthday too

Molly can’t believe that someone put this all together, and she asks Charlie about it as he’s closest to her when she steps out the door

“Fleur thought that we had so much to celebrate that we should throw a party.”

That was when Molly knew that she liked Fleur, she respected her after Greyback attacked Bill and Fleur told her she would still marry him, but she knew that she liked Fleur after this moment

A month later Fleur finds out she’s pregnant, and Molly can’t help but be excited to be a grandmother.

Angelina falls back into George’s life about a year after the war.

The summer of ‘99 Lee and Alicia get married (as they’re pregnant but also because they’re original plans got ruined by the war 😅)

George is Best Man and Angelina is the Maid of Honor

They also have been in love since the first moment they saw each other on the train to Hogwarts at 11

After Lee and Alicia’s wedding, George and Angelina are made Godparents to baby Maria Jordan!

They also just can’t force themselves to be away from each other, both of them are miserable, but at least they have each other

Angelina gets pregnant and George buys her a house

They lose their daughter, but then decide it’s time to do things properly

They get married and right before the ceremony, Molly and Arthur invite her to be part of the family

Molly had taken Angelina in under her wing a little after they lost their daughter Beth, but she doesn’t hide it after this

Angelina lost her own mama when she was eighteen, so having Molly to turn to is a great relief

Angelina is the DIL that Molly is closest too out of all of them

Molly had known Hermione since she was a little girl, but Hermione is more anxious knowing Molly as Ron’s girlfriend than Ron and Ginny’s friend

Molly had always liked Hermione, but she thinks that she pushes everyone to hard in her life

Hermione of course just thinks that Ron needs more motivation

After the summer in Australia with Ron, Hermione goes back to Hogwarts and Ron never writes her

They have a bit of a disconnect in their relationship and it hurts both of them so much

They love each other, neither of them can deny it, but there is so much longing and wanting that it’s hard for them to even express it to themselves let alone each other

When Hermione comes back from Hogwarts she moves in with Ron and Harry into their tiny flat and there is a definite shift in the trio’s relationship

They mend it over the summer, and Hermione is working in mending her relationship with her parents too

One night Molly invites over just Ron and Hermione for dinner and asks them what their plans are for their relationship

Ron tells her what he wants out of it, love and marriage and children

Hermione bolts to orchards, she saw their relationship move that way eventually, but hearing it out loud is frightening

Molly follows her and tells her that Ron was always like that

Hermione understands, but it’s scary to think about, she didn’t realize how onboard she needed to be

Molly tells Hermione about her first date with Arthur and how up and down that had been

And suddenly Molly knows that nothing will stop Ron and Hermione from making their way down the aisle in a few years

But she does have doubts of them having four kids, which she ends up being right about

Audrey

Audrey just sort of falls into Percy’s life

He asked her out hoping that she would say yes, mostly being goaded into it by Angelina

Audrey said yes and then proceeded to be 2 hours late to their first date, Percy knew he was going to marry her right then and there

A month into the relationship, Percy bought an engagement ring for Audrey, Molly had just met her the week before

Audrey takes the time to be pleasant to everyone she meets, she takes the time to share what she needs to about herself, but more than anything, she takes the time to listen

Molly saw the change in Percy before really anyone else, and she also saw a change in Audrey too upon their second meeting

Audrey lost her twin brother in the Battle of Hogwarts and her parents were killed by Death Eaters coming after her and her brothers

She and Percy go through so many ups and downs in their relationship, and thirteen months after they meet, they elope

Molly is upset that her son didn’t want her at his wedding, but she knows that Audrey’s parents weren’t there either

She’s also upset to find out they got married because they were pregnant, but she excited to be a grandmother again

(Victoire is her only grandchild, Fleur lost a little boy two years before and Angelina lost Beth almost four years before)

Audrey turns to Molly a lot with questions about her pregnancy, she has no one else really to turn too other than Angelina and Fleur

(Both who she’s still building relationships with)

Molly sees how scared Audrey is and helps her in anyway she can, and when Audrey loses their little boy, Molly makes sure to check up on her that whole winter

That next winter, Audrey gives Molly her first ever Weasley sweater

Bonus - Harry

Molly is the first one to find out that Harry and Ginny are back together

She catches them snogging out in the chicken coop when they were supposed to be helping her out

It’s during their first Christmas after the war, and Molly is barely holding herself together

She has a bit of a go at both of them, and then pulls Harry into her arms later and tells him how happy she is for the pair of them

Harry and Ginny go through some struggles the summer after Ginny leaves Hogwarts, they tried to live together but it just doesn’t work out, Ginny just isn’t ready for it yet

Molly always welcomes Harry back home though when he comes to visit Ginny, even if she doesn’t quite like them both going up to Ginny’s bedroom at night

Harry moves out of the flat he shares with Ron after he starts making enough gold to live on by himself, he moves into his grandparents old cottage in Godric’s Hallow

He drags Ginny along, and they both thrive with the space and lack of space 😉

Harry had proposed the summer before, but they tell the family on Ginny’s birthday

Ginny’s brothers are all impressed, even more so when Ginny tells them that she doesn’t plan on getting married right away

Molly is the first one to know about James Sirius, Ginny tells her the morning of their wedding

Molly keeps it a secret, but she can tell that her daughter and SIL are so excited to be married that nothing will get in their way

Harry is nervous to be a father, but Molly reassures him that he’ll be wonderful at it, Arthur had the same fearful look in his eyes too after Bill was born

Harry thanks her and let’s her hold her first grandson for the first time

Joanna blinks sleepily from her crib.

“I made such a yummy breakfast for you! I’ve got some breakfast sausage, apple juice, and cereal and today we are trying kiwi!”

I reached my arms out to her. She looked at me and reluctantly pulled herself up.

“I’m so excited for you, Jojo. We’re going to do so much today!”

I took her downstairs and plunked her into her highchair before setting the tray out for her. As she always does, she grabbed her juice first. 

“Don’t be scared to try the kiwi, you’ve had to before in puree, but you’ve never tried it on its own.”

She put down the bottle and looked skeptically at the fruit.

I smiled expectantly at her. “Yummy, yummy!”

She glanced back down at her food again and ate the other stuff but stayed clear of the kiwi.

Once it was the only thing left on her tray, she lifted her arms to let out, 

“All gone.” She exclaimed.

“Uh, hey, why don’t we try this?” I nudged it toward her.

She pulled away as much as she could and pouted, “No dank you.”

“But it’s my favourite, and you’re my duaghter.” I pleaded, I took a piece and ate it, smiling, “It’s so good! Yum!”

She pushed the remaining pieces toward me. 

“Uh, no no. I don’t want it. It’s for you!”

“Is for you.” She replied, copying me.

I mentally kicked myself. If breakfast was going to be a battle, what was the rest going to look like?

“Yeah, just sit down and go pee.”

She looked totally perplexed.

“It’s easy, it’s just like your diaper, but cleaner and I don’t have to change you,” I said wistfully.

I watched her as she went, and with every step, it seemed her diaper got more full and saggy.

"Cheif!" I heard from behind me.

Looking behind, it was O'nok. One of my best warriors. "Yes, what is it?" I asked, turning my skimwing to face his way.

He gestures towards the village, "There are strangers from the forest!" Then hearing the horn, we quickly went underneath the water and above the land.

Seeing a crowd form around, what seems to be a family. Along with my children.

I land near to make my presence known. My mate Ronal makes her way through the crowd, the crowd now seems quite with their leaders now in front of them and the strangers.

Toruk Makto and his mate Neytiri motioned 'I See You' towards us, me doing it back. "I see you, Jakesully." I spoke, a small smile on my face.

"I see you, Tul'kahn." He says, with a nod. "I see you, Ronal." He says, to the woman who made her way beside me.

Her stern and ferice look enough for him to look back at me. "What do you want from us, Jakesully?" I asked, my spear in my hand, standing on its end.

"We are seeking for uturu." He speaks, hands swishing to his front. "Uturu?" Ronal says, in disbelief.

"A sanctuary for my family." He says. Ronal stepped up, her ear twitching.

I kept my eyes on my mate as she speaks. "We are reef people, you are forest people. Your skills cannot be used here." Her icy stare bore into the Jake sullys eyes.

Though Jake seems desperate for uturu. "Then we will learn your ways, right?" He says, looking at Neytiri, who nods slightly.

I watch as Ronal makes her way around the Sully family, making her point. I watched as she grabs the older daughter hands, which show four fingers. "These children aren't even true na'vi." She points out.

She then went along and grabbed the younger sons wrist and shows it to the clan.

"They have demon blood!" The clan murmured and looked even more wary at the Sully family.

Jake waves his hand, trying to get her attention with his four fingers. "See here, see. I was born sky people but now I am na'vi. You can adapt. We will adapt." Jake says, trying to prove his point.

Neytiri steps towards "My husband was Toruk Makto. He lead the clans to victory over the Sky people."

Ronal steps forward as if to challenge "Do you call it victory, to hide amongst strangers. It seems Eywa has turned her back on you, chosen one."

Neytiri hisses, protecting her husband's honor. Ronal hisses back, challenging her. Jake glances at me, seeing for any help. I glance at him then focus on my mate.

Before Jake apologizes for Neytiri. I gently take Ronal's arm and bring her back softly.

I decided to take them in. Seeing that this family is in need of help but I Aldo don't want to bring danger to my people.

"Toruk Makto is a mighty war hero. All na'vi know his story." I announce, speaking to the clan also.

Turning to Jake with a soft tone "But we metkayina are not at war. We can't let you take war here." I warned.

Jake sighs "I'm done with war okay, I just want to protect my family." His eyes begging for help.

I sigh and turn to my beloved. Looking in her eyes, I basically plead through our eye contact. Eventually she nods, smiling I grab her hand in mine. And then back to Jake and his family.

His reaction was for the worse. "Will we be sent away...?" I shake my head with a smile.

"Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us." I announce to the clan.

"Consider them brothers and sisters. Bit they do not know the sea, therefore they will be like newborns taking their first breath."

"Teach them our way of life so that they will not suffer the shame of being useless." I finish my speech and welcome the family.

"Well what do we say." The children thank me. Speaking of children...

"Our son Aonung and duaghter tsireya, will guide your children." I say, though Aonung was to question.

"But father-" I put my hand out. "It has been decided."

He huffs. "Tsireya will show you your way to your new home." And Tsireya lead them off with their stiff in hand.

I walk Ronal back to our Mauri with a hand on her back. "I worry, my love." Ronal says, resting her hand on my bicep.

I sigh, "It will be fine, love." I reassure her by tracing lines on her back.

I move the beads that cover the entrance of our Mauri. I kiss her forehead and gently rest her on our hammock. Ever since she became pregnant, she became more clingy, not that I'm complaining.

Hearing heavy footsteps, knowing it's my grumpy son, doing his moody walk. He walks in with a huff and looks at me with a 'What the hell' look.

"Father, why would you make me help guide them?" He gestures the Sully kids. I turn around and start to sharpen my knife while waiting for Ronal to wake from her little nap.

"Hush now, your mother is sleeping." He groans and walks back out. With his moody walk.

I chuckle, shaking my head.

The first few days were so hard Ned did not have time to feel guilty. He was worried about his daughters, about getting caught. The Queen had more men, could use more horses, than Ned had. But still he hurried his daughters west. They had to get to Riverrun before anyone caught up to them. After the first few days of hard travel, when he thought they might be out of the queens grasp he did feel guilty, these were not the actions of an honest man. But he would look to his duaghters, think of his eldest son, some said he was a king now, his youngest sons alone in Winterfell, or his bastard son, maybe he would join him. No what Ned was doing was not honest, but it was the best thing for his children, for his family. 

Finally finally they made it to Riverrun. Ned did not count on the fact that it would be guards from Riverrun standing between he and his family. His daughters, run down and cold standing beside him their horses in sore need of good food, and there he stood, not at all looking like the Lord he claimed to be. The plaster on his leg was disgusting, he could hardly put weight on it, leaning on his horse as he argued. 

“I am Ned Stark, father of your King, if you will not let me see him then please, please tell him that his father and sisters are here.” and Ned wondered, not for the first time, how his life would change, now that his son was a king. Already he was losing access to his son. but he is a king Ned reminded himself. He’d not decided what he thought about that yet. Had Ned not fought to keep the kingdom together? But what was done was done, his son was a King, Ned did not know what that meant for him. 

Blessedly the guards gave in, nodded and Ned and the girls followed him. Ned did not remember much of Riverrun, he did not know where he was following to, perhaps more dungeons, or perhaps to see the king. Ned was not sure how much further he could walk when a door was pushed open, and there was his son, a crown on his head. Ned knew this was not the boy he’d left behind in Winterfell.  Well, Ned had known one king before. 

“Your grace.” Ned said, his voice weaker than he would like. “I- Robb-” Ned did not take the steps forward to pull the boy into a hug, this boy was a king. But still he could not keep the desperation out of his voice, how glad he was to see the boy. “Robb, it is good to see you “
