Got invited to a Broadway-themed birthday party this weekend.
I took forever to decide on a costume, but am rather thrilled with how my Moulin Rouge turned out!

well the day is finally here ❤️‍🩹 next to normal is closing tonight - it’s come around so fast! it feels necessary to mention how in awe of the utter commitment this cast has shown to this production, like they never QUIT. day after day (haha) they’ve been clocking in and delivering life changing performances!
it goes without saying that there are countless way i’ve been moved, inspired and astounded by this piece of art and it will stay with me for a long time. if i ever create a story that’s even 25% as compelling, i can die happy! i also realise how incredibly lucky i am to see have seen this production not just once but i think 5 times (including tonight’s performance).
i don’t take it for granted for a second. especially considering a few years ago, i would’ve never dreamed of going to london a few times a week. theatre was off limits to me but with hadestown coming to the west end, the magical world of musical theatre has opened up to me and i’m loving it. ofc it’s smth i always -dabbled in- but it’s a love that has truly been cemented by hadestown coming and now, next to normal.
pushing every expectation of what musical theatre can reach, i’ll never forget the first time i saw jack wolfe signing aftershocks or the feeling of caissie levy’s voice going right into ur soul. although i was hesitant at first - hearing what a heavy show it is, im so glad i took the leap and saw it. (albeit BALLING through the entire show lol) but to think that after tonight i’ll never hear those opening chords again. i’ll never witness this productions magic in person again, is beyond heartbreaking…this is the joy of theatre i suppose! show come and go and it makes u really appreciate the ones that stand out.
i can’t say it’s easy for me to accept the end of this chapter so i can’t imagine what a whirlwind of emotions the N2N team are going through right now. i wish the cast and crew a smooth final show, they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. and best believe i’ll be crossing EVERYTHING for a cast recording announcement tonight! and hoping for a broadway transfer ofc
till next time, next to normal 💜

Why this deleted scene from Les Mis (2012) would not have fit well in the film:
Tumblr media
I have some feelings about this little bit of the Les Mis 2012 commentary.
I feel like if anyone were to have killed the soldier who murdered Gavroche, it should and would have been Courfeyrac or Grantaire.
Marius is not the type of character to react in anger, and that's what's special about his character.
Marius is a character that is full of passion and strong emotion, but what makes him special is that he isn't vengeful or short-tempered. He's calm and compassionate in a way that sets him apart from other characters similar to him or his archetype.
Marius is the type to be less concerned with vengeance and more concerned with the grief of the loss of Gavroche. Revenge would certainly not be the first thing on his mind when faced with Gavroche's death, but shock and grief would be.
Courfeyrac or, more fittingly, Grantaire in this case, seem like they would be more concerned with vengeance than Marius. Courfeyrac less so because he would be so shaken with the loss of Gavroche. However, he was the most attached to Gavroche in the film, and more likely to act in anger than Marius would be. However, Grantaire would be a fitting choice for this action because firstly, Grantaire is attached to Gav in the book and the musical. Secondly, Grantaire would be the most likely to seek vengeance in any case. He's petty, vindictive, cynical, moody. He would seem, when looking at his character, that he would be the most likely to do this. (However, after looking through some of your comments, It's possible that Grantaire was asleep during this part of the battle. At least, in the book he certainly was)
Whilst I'm not sure if it should have been included at all, it is an interesting concept, and thanks for reading this post, I know it's long but I wanted to blab about my funny little guys and how they act.
thank you for coming to my ted talk
