I don't often share fan art on here (mostly official works!). But these are two outstanding Final Fantasy Tactics works done by Robert Kim (aka: roburii). According to what few sources there are he's no longer with us. These two pieces have greatly wowed and inspired me, beautifully adapting Akihiko Yoshida's unique style with Kim's technique.

Stellaris is fun and all, but I would kill for a Crusader Kings-type game in a Gundam or Expanse-style single Solar System setting.

Sins of a Solar Empire is kiiinda close, but it's more like Age of Empires, more about building armies and fighting battles than relationships and politics.

Cozy turn-based strategy board game Flamecraft announced for PC - Gematsu

Monster Couch, the studio behind the digital adaptations of board games Wingspan and Calico (Quilts & Cats of Calico), has announced a video game version of the tabletop strategy game Flamecraft. It will be available for PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.

About

Flamecraft is a cozy, turn-based strategy board game for one to five players. Become a Flamekeeper and help artisan dragons and shopkeepers delight the townspeople with their craft. Gather and manage resources, enhance the shops by casting enchantments, and magic your way to becoming the best Flamekeeper. Your main task is to thoughtfully place dragon artisans in the town’s bustling shopping district. They will help you gather various resources from the shops, which you can later use to cast enchantments, triggering powerful ability combos. You’ll also befriend the extraordinary Fancy Dragons, with abilities allowing you to boost your reputation. Your main goal is to earn the most reputation points by the time the game ends. If you manage to do that, you’ll earn the Master of Flamecraft title!

Moreover, we enhance the additional board game Solo Mode with a heartwarming story, expanding Flamecraft‘s extensive lore, giving it more depth and immersion.

-Meet Over 70 Beautiful Animated Dragons and Visit 30 Unique Shops While Listening to a Whimsical Score

In Flamecraft, we’ve brought the enchanting world created by Sandara Tang to life. The beautifully illustrated dragons come to life as they use their craft in the vibrant 3D town, full of animated shops, booths, and laboratories.

Pawel Gorniak, the composer behind Wingspan and Quilts and Cats of Calico, is also back, with another spellbinding score.

How to Play

You’ll have to strategize and outsmart other Flamekeepers if you want to come out on top. There are countless ways to victory, and it’s up to you to make the most of your skills. On your turn, you’ll visit one of the various shops in town to either gather resources or enchant the shops using magical creations. You could visit Gnome Depot to grab some iron, get freshly baked bread from Drake of Cakes, or brew mysterious potions at Draconic Tonic. You’ll need those, among others, to later enchant the shops – this will let you fire up all of the dragons from a shop and combine their abilities to create amazing combos. This, along with the Fancy Dragon cards, which offer powerful one-time abilities or additional end-game scoring opportunities, will let you get the reputation points needed to win the game.
