Cyber Police nabs most wanted fraudster from Patiala in Rs 34 lakhs online fraud | Jammu News - Net4News

JAMMU: Cyber police station in Jammu has succeeded in apprehending another most wanted fraudster involved in Rs 34.0 lakh online pension/cyber fraud case from Patiala, Punjab. Jammu's cyber police's superintendent of police (SP) Naresh Singh said, “A case under FIR no 10/2021 u/s 66D IT Act, 420, 120.B IPC has been registered at the cyber police station in Jammu. Investigations were taken up.” “The accused person has been identified as Sukhdeep Singh, son of Iqbal Singh, resident of Guru Nanak Nagar in Patiala,” he added. SP cyber police station Naresh Singh said, “On February 20, 2021, complainant namely Inder Pal Singh of Talab Tillo, Jammu reported at the cyber police station that he was duped by unknown fraudsters on the pretext of buying units of the Canadian pension fund and convinced the complainant for good returns. “Complainant got trapped in the luring offer and consequently lost Rs 34.0 lakh in multiple transactions from different banks,” SP Singh said. “During the course of the investigation, the I/O succeeded in identifying co-accused fraudster who has defrauded complainant's hard-earned money.” “In the month of June 2021, member of the gang of online fraudster Daljit Kaur, wife of Shingara Singh and resident of Sahnewal Ludhiana, was arrested in the instant case in whose bank account Rs 24 lakhs was credited and Rs 10 lakhs was credited in the account of Sukhdeep Singh,” he added. SP Singh said, “After ascertaining the location of the accused deputed dedicated team headed by inspector Vikram Sharma, investigating officer of the case under the direct supervision of DySP Cyber Priyanka Kumari to apprehend the accused.” “The deputed team acting swiftly arrested the accused from Patiala,” a senior police officer said and added that the accused is brought to the cyber police station in Jammu after completing all legal procedures. The accused is involved in other complaints also. SP Singh said, “Police is also searching for other fraudsters involved in the commission of the offence. Further sustained questioning of the arrested accused by the police is going on to ascertain the involvement of other accused into the case” he added. Source link Read the full article
