Came across another vendor selling Traditional Papua New Guinean arts and crafts.
The colourful bags are called Bilum. A bilum is a traditional woven string bag deeply embedded in our Papua New Guinean culture. "Bilum" translates to "womb" in Tok Pisin (One of our national languages), and it's used as a multipurpose carrier for a wide range of items, including babies, goods, and personal belongings.
The brownish cane baskets are commonly made from rattan cane, Pandanus, Mungus (Type of tree bark), coconut, bamboo and other fibres. They were traditionally made for a variety of purposes, ceremonial uses, food gathering and storage. Nowadays we use them for the same reasons as well as display decoration and carrying daily items.
