(D)OLLIES  is  the  first  mini-album  by  a  fictional  girl  group,  PICK  ME!,  known  for  blending  bold  rebellion  with  a  playful  charm.  the  album  was  considered  a  collaboration  with  GLASSHOUSE  INC.,  home  of  the  renowned  producer  GLOOMY,  who  took  the  lead  in  producing  it.  

the  album  reflects  its  core  themes  of  individuality  and  breaking  free  from  societal  expectations.  the  six  songs  feature  a  dynamic  mix  of  pop,  hip-hop,  and  dance,  capturing  a  spirit  of  confidence  and  empowerment.  the  group  released  their  debut  single,  ANGEL  OF  MY  DREAMS,  on  april  20th,  2022,  which  was  also  included  in  the  mini.  key  tracks  include  BADITTUDE,  a  powerful  pre-released  anthem  celebrating  self-assurance  and  defiance,  and  TALK  THAT  SHHH,  which  highlights  staying  true  to  oneself  and  embracing  authenticity.  

(D)OLLIES  received  mixed  reactions.  knetizens  thought  this  album  was  a  dig  at  them  for  judging  the  members  for  the  previous  rumours  and  callouts  they  made  about  the  girls.  at  the  same  time,  international  fans  praised  the  group  for  their  fresh  sound  and  empowering  message,  establishing  PICK  ME!  as  a  standout  figure  in  the  music  scene.

ANGEL OF MY DREAMS ... described  as  a  'shape-shifting  banger',  the  song  explores  the  group's  love/hate  relationship  with  the  pop  industry  they've  been  at  the  heart  of  since  their  survival  show.  *there  has  been  lots  of  speculation  that  this  song  is  about  their  former  companies,  especially  with  the  line  "sold  my  soul  to  a  psycho"  could  be  directly  linked  to  that  rumour.

BADITTUDE ... is  all  about  owning  your  confidence  and  standing  up  for  yourself.  lines  like  "girls  with  that  bad  attitude"  highlight  the  power  of  embracing  your  true  self  and  rejecting  anyone  who  tries  to  bring  you  down.  it's  an  anthem  for  anyone  who's  ever  felt  misunderstood  or  pushed  aside,  encouraging  them  to  embrace  their  unique  edge  with  pride.

TALK THAT SHHH ... is  a  declaration  of  self-confidence  and  authenticity.  the  lyrics  focus  on  staying  true  to  who  you  are  despite  the  noise  and  expectations  from  the  outside  world.  the  chorus  evokes  a  sense  of  intimacy  and  self-assurance.  it’s  about  confidently  owning  your  individuality  and  living  life  on  your  own  terms,  celebrating  the  freedom  to  express  yourself  fully  and  unapologetically.

DIE FOR ME ... portrays  a  bold  and  confident  female  character  who  enjoys  having  control  over  her  partner  and  demands  their  submission  and  admiration.  the  song's  lyrics  suggest  a  sensual  and  intense  dynamic  between  two  individuals  but  with  a  hint  of  danger  and  risk.

SO WHAT ... is  all  about  shaking  off  the  weight  of  overthinking  and  self-criticism.  it’s  a  reminder  to  not  get  stuck  down  by  worries  and  to  take  life  a  little  easier.  the  chorus,  with  its  “so  what?”  attitude,  is  a  push  to  let  go  of  perfectionism  and  just  be  okay  with  things.  it’s  about  allowing  yourself  to  slow  down,  make  mistakes,  and  not  sweat  the  small  stuff.

FINDER ... is  the  desire  to  break  free  from  routine  and  monotony  and  to  explore  new  possibilities.  the  lyrics  reflect  that  despite  the  fear  of  the  unknown  or  the  dangers  of  pursuing  their  dreams,  the  group  strives  to  overcome  their  fears  and  take  action  to  obtain  a  better  life.  they  urge  others  to  take  their  hand  and  join  them  on  this  adventure.

▋ ʬʬ [ . . . ] Do You Crave Me? 🍬 ⠀ “Sweet Confessions” is the first full album of fictional six membered ensemble Boys Almighty (also known as BAM!). In a uncharted direction for the group, Hyacinth's girl group Opalite's esteemed creative director Lee Eunhye collaborated with Rainbow Entertainment and took visual management of the project.

The album was released in two parts━ Love Too Sweet broadcasted on May 6, 2024, then Dark Chocolate on August 6, 2024. The first part was full of infectious energy, sided with trendy R&B and pop songs. Showcasing the well known playful, sounds of the band.

Title tack Strawberry Bubblegum was a smash hit, quickly becoming a summer anthem from the groovy choreography and pop sound. Landing Number 21 on Billboard's Hot 100, and staying for 6 weeks.

As summer heated up, fans were burning from anticipation for Dark Chocolate. When it finally arrived, the contract between the parts were astonishing. Part two begins at track six, diving into the intricacies of fame, love, and yearning. The title track Bite of You was sensual, displaying vocal performances unprecedented from the members.

The members were extremely nervous with collaborating with even newer, heavily established higher ups, but Eunhye assured them that they could have a voice in the project. Opalite members Valentine and Selene came to congratulate the boys.

Her immediate thought was to showcase a mature, but still youthful charm to the group━ thinking the nostalgia, first love boy group concept was kinda overrated, so she got to work!

Promotions for included exclusive bakery pop up shops across Korea and the U.S called “Bake A Boy”. Each shop were decorated with life-sized cutouts of the boys dressed as bakers, and a 30% discount off their next purchase at the store

The focal point about the shops was themed pastries, each treat was created after a different member of the group. The idea was tasteful : fans could “taste” their favorite idol. Items such as “Taeyoung's Tarty Lemon Cake", "Bo's Popping Bubblegum”, and “Sammy's Savory Chocolates” immediately skyrocketed revenue for Rainbow and Hyacinth. The popups also gained massive popularity within “FoodTok” as multiple culinary influencers reviewed the products and loved them.

Futher along promotions of the album, member Kiho was featured on a remix of Chuu's “Strawberry Rush” and people went crazy. They matched each other's energy perfectly in the track and they both had fun.

Clever marketing tactics and playful accessories are the heart of the project, yes, but the music is the soul. During the first consultation, Eunhye could tell the main vocalist and youngest member Kitae, was a bit on the shyer side. Immediately, she knew to tell BAM's producer to give him a solo on the album.

As for songwriting, Opalite member July wrote Strawberry Bubblegum and Pretty Woman. The songs were originally for herself, then passed to labelmates Gemini, was rejected, then to Boys Almighty.

🏎️܆ ͟͟͞͞  =    —     𐀔 ( 𖠵 )  ‎ ،  ‎ so let’s ride! is the first full album by arm candy that was managed by multiple companies. in a cross event between ideal music, mystic story, and plus plus ent, it immediately made waves as an innovative approach to the ever-evolving musical landscape. although the concept strays from what the group usually does, kpop’s boyfriends never disappoint in any release.

① inspired by 90s hip-hop culture, racer aesthetics, living life in the fast lane, and choosing a good time over a long time.

originally supposed to be a mini album, so let’s ride! spiralled into an amalgamation of reviving scrapped music and bringing as many music producers into one room as possible. what should have been four tracks max decidedly became twelve tracks in total, all spanning above three minutes. various outcries from fans of the companies’ other groups demanding this treatment went unheard, as per usual.

every song played its part in bringing together the whole, but there’s no doubt that various tracks stood out from the rest.

01 : AS THE RUSH COMES is an ambient introduction to the otherwise fast-paced synth-pop album. with airy vocals describing the descent into a fantasy, one could interpret it as the listener beginning to dive deeper and deeper into the rest of the track list. three minutes and forty-two seconds long.

02 / .5 : AUTOBAHN is one of two title tracks. the texturized instrumental is the pillar of the song when the enticing tokyo drift-reminiscent visuals simply aren’t enough. the song solidified itself as a staple in arm candy’s discography immediately, demonstrating their duality. three minutes and eighteen seconds long.

03. / .5 : TALK SAXY is the second title track of two. left behind is the racer concept as arm candy go full 2000s boy band multiplied by infinity. they return to their roots, even going so far as downscaling the quality and filming the choreography in an upsized cheese grater. the saxophone which is heard all throughout the song adds that perfect addictiveness to an already catchy track. three minutes and eleven seconds long.

04 : GO BIG OR GO HOME is a future-house song which blew up on social media after various edits of the members. it gradually gained the attention of european countries, specifically the united kingdom. what was once a throwaway track developed into a certified club special. three minutes and twenty-two seconds.

05 : SUPER CAR may be the most jarring out of the entire album, written by jeyeol of dachi. it is heavily influenced by edm and electronica in which the members brag about their achievements and appearances. three minutes and thirty-five seconds long.
