I hope decades from now they teach Overwatch as a master class on how capitalism and the pursuit of limitless growth at all costs will inevitably break down and consume even the most creative and globally-beloved ideas until they’re bled dry of every dollar they could extract from fans

Oh wait it's AU time? I can get in on this. My favourite AU that I've ever come up with is essentially an AU where Mephone breaks the time-space continuum and ends up resetting. everything. Right before he's killed by Cobs, the shimmer energy 'bursts' and breaks time itself, so he goes back to Season 1. All of his memories are intact, but everyone elses aren't. The shimmer inside of him is still alive too btw, they didn't die, they're just essentially going to be 'recharging'/weaker for eternity because breaking time is no small feat! Mephone's hardware is also a little fried but it's fineee it's okayyy (it's not).
It's. basically a 'redo'. He gets the chance to do everything all over again. In fact, he HAS to do everything all over again, because the universe IS threatening to rip at the seams. But he's able to change little things, details. He spends more time with 4S. He's nicer to the contestants. He treats toilet a fuck ton better. But it happens again anyways, Cobs never cared how 'nice' he was to the contestants, he wanted that energy back. But... this was and is his only shot. And so instead of cowering, Mephone goes up to Meeple by himself. To confront Cobs alone. This is a horrible idea, and Mephone gets absolutely beat up, but Cobs dies to Mephone's hands in the end. It's not satisfying for Mephone, he hates Cobs. It's VERY VERY EASY TO when you've seen him kill everyone you love twice. Because yeah MephoneX does end up wrecking havoc on the contestants. But Mephone knows it's fixable. He knows the contestants are in his OS. He can extract the files.
I wouldn't go as far as to say the contestants. Forgive him ENTIRELY? But they are much more understanding as a whole. Especially the ones who received memories from the alternate timeline (The gememories still come to be because some of the memories from the first timeline were so absolutely terrible Mephone felt like he HAD to erase them. So the gememory cave still happens it's just surprisingly more traumatic for the contestants because it's about Them Dying. They also have a lot more to confront Mephone about in the end lol)
It's a lot for all of them to go through. Specifically Mephone he has it really bad in this AU. But I do think the ending is a lot more warm towards him because he DID fix his mistakes. Literally. He wouldn't have done it if he had the choice not to though, it was entirely the shimmer freaking the fuck out and panic spamming the Pause Time button LOL.
So there we go, theres 2G's au that it will never make into a fic, but despite that it still REALLY wants to. I've planned it all out and all I just cant get to actually putting words on paper. Ah well. Hope you enjoyed hearing abt the concept anyways!!! Yahoo! -2G

Disappointed in the Vander backstory
I fully expected that it was coming, but I'm disappointed in the timeline all the same.
The "Vander got upset because a fight against Piltover Silco instigated killed the woman he loved" was literally my first draft for my longfic Fathers and Daughters, and I ended up scrapping it because I felt it was too cheap and wouldn't justify the violence of his actions against Silco.
"When she died I lost my head" he says in the letter.
But when she died you actually dropped your gauntlets and picked up the girls and everyone has been assuming this was the moment you swore off violence...
Tumblr media
The fact she goes on to let Vander name her kid, and seems to be thick as thieves with them, and ALSO tells them of the pregnancy before she builds up the courage to tell her partner... Tells me that surely... SURELY by the time Vi is 10-11, whatever she is on the bridge in season 1, she would KNOW SILCO as her mom's bestie, no??? Not just Vander.
It feels like this entire angle is pulled under the rug to simplify the conflict in act 1.
I do appreciate being right on the money with Silco knowing and being friends with the mom, and having known Vi as a baby. I think it makes sense, especially if he was an important community leader.
I just hate her death being the catalyst of Vander's actions against Silco. It means that the timeline actually like this:
Mom-Silco-Vander are best friends. Silco is "Bozo 1" and has been leading the transformation of the Lanes with Vander's help. He's already planning his nation of Zaun. His notebook is literally saying "NZ" for Nation of Zaun.
At an ONGOING confrontation with enforcers, Silco throws a molotov cocktails that doesn't seem to even kill an enforcer (Powder and her innefectual bombs parallel? The entire scene is intercut with the monkey bomb clapping so... The scene leading to a friend's death also parallels the events of Jinx's birth.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the smoke clears/the POV looks down, we have the reveal that the girls' Mom is dead.
Tumblr media
Vander admits the blood was on his hands as well, meaning he either started this confrontation with Silco, or fought just as badly/increased the violence (and we see him murder enforcers later on). Anyway he admits to carrying the blame, and apologized in person to Silco for the dubbed "betrayal".
Then he went home, shaved, dragged Silco into the Pilt, and tried to drown him *because their common friend died at the failed uprising*.
He's then haunted, seemingly, by visions of Silco being dead:
Tumblr media
To me it's sort of weaker and sadder, as it establishes Vander as someone more flawed and less ruthless. It's not that he wanted the Lanes, it's not that Silco was getting in the way of what he wanted.
Vander was out there happy with everything they were dishing out, right until their actions cost the life of a friend, and he broke, emotionally, and BLAMED it on Silco, going so far as to kill him (or try).
He surrendered his gauntlets, picked the children up, tucked them in at home, shaved (I cannot stress this enough), then took Silco into the fucking river and brutally attempted to murder him.
Then he massively regretted it and left little breadcrumbs of apologies in case Silco found them and returned to him.
So, canon couple, first off lol
Fellas, is it gay to hang your jackets inside each other's in your secret hideout? Is it gay that all your core hidden memories begin with your mate smiling at you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, yes it is. Zaundad is canon and I'm not taking commentary.
Secondly, that means Vander was an emotional ticking time bomb who wasn't ready for the price to sacrifice in order to gain their freedom. I really wonder what the alternative reality would have been like, were Silco the one dying on that bridge.
Anyway, it brings some twisted sadness to the situation, because the mom wanted Zaun "no matter what" for Vi's sake, her child's future. But Vander decided that lives weren't worth spilling over that dream and tried to kill Silco over it, before teaming up with Grayson to continue enforcing a status quo.
So that means that Silco, even as he raises Jinx, is continuing her mother's dream, of building Zaun, a country that's safe for her children, "no matter what".
But very sadly the show also acts like Silco doesn't know the kids, and like the kids don't know him. Powder, sure, but Vi not knowing Silco is just downright stupid. Not even knowing him by name? When her mom was out fighting alongside him??? The mom is ALSO a miner, very clearly working with Silco and Vander, alongside the nameless poor husband.
I feel like this doesn't really solve the issues that were already raised when we speculated about act 1. It just clarifies that Vander was truly, willfully a force of oppression inside the fissures, working against the revolution necessary for Zaun becoming possible.
But it implies Silco didn't recognise Powder and Vi, and that Vi didn't recognise him or understand how he knew Vander. It's a disservice to the story, because that tie, that old bond, could really have worked to dramatize the sacrifices Silco is ready to make, as well as the depth of Vi's hatred for him.
But the show acts like they're strangers and that Vander's death is the core beef between them until Jinx enters the picture.
And then there's the Benzo scene, when Vander holds his wound from Silco's knife, and says "we both know there's worse than enforcers out there" WHO ARE YOU FUCKING TALKING ABOUT??? Yourself? You seem to be the worst thing around here! It seems clear he knew Silco was alive but had nothing to blame him for by then.
I'm left with holes that take the shape of "shock value" and "plot twist".
"Ooooh Silco knew the mom, twiiiist, but please don't think about the implications, because we wrote season 1 without taking this in consideration."
Feels like another job for fic writers, but IDK if I have the strength for it. I just like my own version better.
At least now we know that Silco did not IN FACT DO anything to "deserve" what he got. I'm sorry, but throwing a molotov at enforcers when fighting for your freedom is based and Vander was dishing death right there next to him.
The base violence necessary for change, eh? Vander just delayed the price being paid for Zaun's creation.

I MEANT TO REPLY TO THIS SOONER BUT LIFE STUFF WAS GOING ON AAAAAA
Omg this is so sweet and sad, such a good Beck theory/backstory 😭💔💖 I love the idea that he was born with no face, I feel it definitely adds to his identity issues he had in the show (I think Anon is a canon character iirc (I’m still trying to get into everything Tron, I’ve seen the two movies and Uprising so far) and I don’t recognize some of the names so feel free to tell me more if they’re canon characters or ocs) and of course Tron started out like any sweet program lmao
Sam having elbow as a first word is so perfect, and man OP I’m showering you with so much love for this wonderful little quick one shot, I definitely think it’s worth expanding on should you get the motivation and time to if you want :o (and unintentional but god as someone in love with Beck (yes I selfship and no I am not revealing my OC yet) this is such good food aaaaaa, this fic really reaffirms my thoughts that Beck is doll coded lmao, and I want to hug him too in this fic like someone else said 😭💖
The way you described the way Beck was created actually also reminds me of Doraemon’s backstory in a way, which is another robot character I loved since childhood lol (heck yeaha programs being described as robotic they’re basically sentient code robots) but I think I’ve rambled enough and been cringe enough lmao
Anyways now I want to grab Beck’s face gently and give him a smooch ^//3//^
Tron franchise headcanon: Newborn programs always say “Hello world!” as their first words :3

At Least in that Life • S
Tumblr media
(Gif not mine)
Request:
Summary: Ekko finds that Silco is alive and well with his wife by his side in the alternate timeline. He feels the need to tell you about it
Warnings: fem!reader (called wife at some points), no pronouns used though I believe, canon death mention, AU mention, implied Timebomb, angsty : ) , mentions of canon unhealthiness that comes with living in the Undercity, timeline is screwy but idc and neither should you LOL
Word Count: 2.3k
A.N: listen, i know he was a little fruity with Vander in the AU BUT i still need this man desperately, don't worry about the timeline i stg, this is actually pretty sad lmao, have fun with it
Ekko stares at the man behind the bar; face simultaneously instantly recognizable and drastically changed. The scar was the same mangled mess across one side of his face, but that was where the similarities ended.
In his timeline, Ekko remembers Silco as a cruel bastard with only room in his heart for his wife and Jinx. He never smiled nor ever had reason to. This Silco had a glint of brightness in eyes, even in the orange mutated one, that he would've never associated with the crime lord. The boy stands there, facing the middle-aged man in front of him as he waves his goblet around, body flowing with movement; no strain evident in his posture.
He's talking, Ekko knows this, they're all speaking to him like they aren't either dead or an enemy. But they aren't--these versions of the people he once knew in his own timeline are different.
His eyes drift briefly to you, teeth bared in a smile he hasn't seen since he was a child. You look like that one day, seemingly ages ago, when you kept and eye on him, Powder, and Violet, just days before the uprising. At that point you hadn't been corrupted by the deaths of your closest friends or your husband's vile need for justice. You had a sort of youth to you, though your hair was twinged with greys like Vander's and Silco's, you were practically wrapped around his slender frame, gesturing wildly.
Life had not just been given to Vander, but to you and Silco as well.
His breath hitches and his head throbs with a sharp pain unlike any other.
Ekko squeezes his eyes shut, the vibrancy of the Anomaly imprinted on the backs of his eyelids. Distantly, he hears Powder's voice, like a song in his ear, with a type of kindness he's almost completely forgotten.
When he snaps back to reality, whatever that now meant, he was sitting at a table, away from the bar, with Powder to his right and Mylo and Claggor across from him. They watch him, expecting him to act normal, like he was meant to be here.
"I think you might actually be going crazy," Powder laughs, the sound like a sweet summer breeze as it drifts by him. Her eyes scan over him worriedly.
Ekko swallows roughly, willing the wave of sickness to pass quicker. "I--I'm fine. I think I'll just grab water or something?" Swiftly he rises from his seat, partially unbalanced. He hates that his clothes are a perfect fit and his shoes are comfortable enough he can wiggle his toes around.
He walks to the bar, the sounds of rowdy laughter and girlish giggles surrounding him. The ease of it all is overwhelming.
"What'll you have, Ekko? Your usual?"
Ekko glances at you, taking you in now that you're within arm's reach. The only sign of age are your laugh lines around the corners of your lips. Gone are the sunken, tired eyes and ghastly paleness of skin caused by the contaminated air of the Undercity. You were healthy; sure there were a few scrapes here and there, but your cheeks were filled out, Ekko noticed.
"U-usual?" He manages to croak out before the silence got too concerning.
Obviously worried, your brows furrow and lips purse. "I'll just get you a water then, huh? You're not acting like yourself." You busy yourself, bringing up a glass from the shelf at your knees.
Silco is on the other side of the bar, talking to strangers with Vander. He barks out a laugh, nothing he's ever heard before, and runs his free hand through his already ruffled hair.
The glass clinks on the wooden table in front of him, snapping him out of his trance.
"Are you sure you're ok, Ekko? You don't look so good..." You place the back of your hand to his forehead, reaching over the bartop. The coolness of your skin brings him relief, but he knows you're not going to find he has a high temperature. Physically, he was mostly fine. Mentally, however, was another story.
He thinks about how most of these people are dead men walking or empty shells of their former selves back where he's from. Ekko can't shake the empty feeling he has in his heart.
This was the way things should have been.
"So how are things with you and Silco?" He asks, ignoring your previous question as you bring your hand back to your side.
Leaning against the bar you inspect him for just a moment longer. The boy picks up his glass and almost drains it in one go, which seems to satisfy you for now.
"Me and Sil?" You glance at him quickly, face burning. "We're married, kid, we bicker and are right pricks to each other...but in the end we love each other more than anything in the world. That's how it goes." You sigh, resting your head in one of your hands thoughtfully. "Why do you ask?"
Ekko fiddles with the collar of his shirt. "He just seems so happy. Despite...everything, y'know?"
Lips tilt down slightly in a solemn frown. "It was hard for him, forgiving, that is. He thought we had to endure bloodshed to assert Zaun's rightful existence; he thought it was the only way to get Piltover to listen." Your eyes glance down to the polished wood holding you up. "It was all he knew. And after the incident...after losing our friends and his eye...it was all just a hard pill to swallow."
Silco's laugh once again echoes through the air. You smile immediately, head perking up at the mere noise of your husband. "I never thought I'd see him smile after what we lost--after Vander's wakeup call." Ekko watches as your eyes grow wet with unshed tears. "But here he is, my Silco, living the life he always dreamt of..."
"And you?" Ekko shifts from side to side, feet shuffling below him.
"What about me?" You ask, willing the tears away, busying yourself with wiping the countertop between the two of you.
"Are you happy as well?"
For a moment, you pause, pondering the weight of his question. Ekko, the boy you've come to treat as your son, the boy you trust your Powder with, looks at you like you're not quite right. His eyes gaze into your soul with an intensity that's hard to decipher.
Little moments from your life flash before your eyes; swaying to music with Silco in your kitchen as dinner cooks on the stovetop, you and Vander venturing into Piltover to get more supplies for the bar, Silco's soft gaze and his warm lips against your skin.
"I never thought I could ever be this happy." You tell him truthfully, voice just slightly above a whisper.
Something breaks in his eyes, in his demeanor, but he nods anyway. Something wasn't right--that much was obvious, but before you're able to pick his brain he leaves you at the bar, almost sprinting back to Powder and his friends. She greets him with a smile but her fingers twitch nervously under the table.
With a huff you attend to the other patrons at the bar, occasionally catching Ekko's eye as you walk around your space. He watches you and Silco work in tandem like husband and wife. Even with Ekko's mind already severely overwhelmed with the world around him, he notices when your fingertips purposefully brush when handing glassware over to the other and the small kisses that accompany some flirtatious or loving remark. His head spins and senses buzz with the overload of what could have been.
He leaves without saying goodbye to you or Silco, thought you do call out to him before he exits, you, wrapped in Silco's arms.
"I don't know how to tell you this--or even if I should tell you this." Ekko sits in front of you, tinkering with his hoverboard. Jinx stands feet away, quietly eavesdropping while glancing over blueprints she probably already knows by heart. "But Jinx said you might wanna know."
With a frown already etched into your face, you raise your eyebrows at him. You hadn't spoken to Ekko in years especially since Vander's betrayal of your husband and Vi's abandonment of Jinx. But with Piltover and Zaun under attack, he requested your presence with the Firelights. You parted ways with your husband's right hand man Sevika, hoping that you would see each other again, but predicting that that simply wasn't realistic.
"Just spit it out, kid." You reply, exhaustion lacing your words. Fatigue had infiltrated deep in your bones; Silco's death had taken a large toll on you--you were the last of you little makeshift family alive, though Vander was dead to you long before his final breath left his body.
You were quite the contrast to you counterpart in the alternate timeline. Ekko knew this before, but the accentuated frown lines and lifelessness that surrounded your very being just hit him full force.
He takes a deep breath, cautious of how you were going to react. "I went to an alternate timeline and Silco was alive there." Ekko forces out in one breath.
You stare blankly at the boy, your mind somehow not registering what he was saying.
"That was my reaction too..." Jinx murmurs, her voices echoing in the vastness of her metal lair.
A wave of vertigo washes over you, submerging you in its depths. It's hard to breathe. But somehow you will yourself to stay calm in present company. Now was not the time to be weak.
"An alternate timeline?" You manage to ask weakly, drawing your arms closer to your chest and uneasily wrap them around your frame.
"Don't even ask me to explain it because I don't think I could," Ekko chuckles humorlessly. "But it was a timeline where Zaun and Piltover were at peace, where you could openly cross the bridge and not worry about what would happen to you. Zaun and Piltover thrived together."
You scoff at the notion, shaking your head in disbelief. "Are you sure this wasn't a dream?"
"No. This was real." Ekko's deep brown eyes gaze into yours, something painful swimming in his irises. He's different from the boy you once knew; he's seen something, dealt with something he had lost--had to leave behind. The seriousness laced in his tone convinces you.
You nod, indicating that he can continue as you pick at your nails. You try to brace yourself for whatever he's about to say, but you can't. There was no way to predict what was going to come out of his mouth. But the thought of Silco being alive somewhere kills you inside; your stomach churns and your heart aches for your one and only.
Ekko only sighs before explaining to you what he saw, occasionally pausing to recollect his thoughts or add another component onto his hoverboard.
He tells you about the Silco that could have been--should have been--yours. How his laughter filled the already boisterous main room of The Last Drop, how when a certain song played he would drop everything just to twirl you around behind the bar. Ekko described the brightness of his once clouded eyes and the genuine smile that was always present on his face. Your love was so palpable wherever the two of you went.
Powder confessed once, he told you, while looking over countless notes and equations late at night, that if she were to ever get married, she would want exactly what you and Silco had.
Ekko has you clinging onto each sentence trying to savor each and every word as if you were on your deathbed. You try to picture him in your mind, the greying tousled hair, healthy figure, and tendency to smile. The images are faint against the darkness of your eyelids, blurry from the passage of time.
"He's happy?" You ask quietly.
Ekko nods.
"And am I--Is she happy?" You ask again, stuttering at the thought that this person was not you. You were not the one sharing these intimate moments with your husband; these were strangers, who you could've been.
Again, Ekko nods silently, eyes cast downwards.
You feel your bottom lip start to tremble and tears fight to escape and fall down your cheeks. The lump in your throat grows bigger.
What could've been had haunted you ever since Vander's attack on Silco. It had loomed over you and your husband and suffocated you after his death. To know it was so much sweeter than you ever could have imagined...
Your breathing is uneven when Ekko finally stops talking; other than your labored breath the room was silent. You attempt to collect your thoughts and your emotions but they keep slipping through the cracks between your fingers.
"I shouldn't have told you..." Ekko mutters, apologetically. Eyes swimming with pity, he lays a comforting paint-stained hand on your shoulder. Behind him, Jinx stares blankly down at her boots.
"No it's ok, kid." You sigh, willing away the waves of tears threatening to spill over. "It was good to hear."
"Really?" He looks at you, unconvinced.
"It's good to know that me and Silco get a happy life, y'know?" Your attempt at a small smile partially works, but Ekko can still see the distraught written so clearly all over your face. "One where we can smile and laugh and live. If it couldn't be here, I'm happy it was at least in another lifetime."
Ekko helps you stand, still concerned for you.
With an uneven sigh you turn away from Ekko and Jinx who watch you intently, projects forgotten on the floor or scattered across a small table.
"I need some air." You tell them, ambling slowly to the exit, hoping for the cool polluted air to swallow you whole.

Anarchists in the Movement against Police and White Supremacy
From the Los Angeles Riots to the George Floyd Uprising
https://crimethinc.com/antipolice2025
To observe the five-year anniversary of the burning of the Third Precinct at the beginning of the George Floyd Revolt, we've prepared a timeline tracing the trajectory of anarchist contributions to uprisings against the police from the Rodney King riots of 1992 to the 2020 uprising in Minneapolis.

(Arcane Meta)
Ok, so we don't actually know when Viktor left the undercity for Piltover but I just had a thought that might give us an additional benchmark.
I think Viktor must have left the undercity before Vander's big confrontation on the bridge, the day when Vi and Jinx's parents died.
Here's why:
It doesn't even occur to Viktor, or Jayce, that mining equipment could be used for violence. I find this a laughable oversight on their part, but the point stands. Jayce's Atlas Gauntlets were designed to be improved versions of Vander's cast iron mining gauntlets. The same gauntlets Vi later uses in the failed Vander rescue attempt.
But, Vander was also infamous for using those mining gauntlets as weapons on the bridge. We know this, because when the Enforcers come sniffing around sometime in 1.1-1.3, he nods specifically to where those gauntlets are hanging above the bar and says as a threat that it would be a shame if he picked those up again.
So, I would argue, for Viktor to be so completely oblivious the potential of Zaunite mining gauntlets to be used as weapons, such that he would allow Jayce to build the Atlas Gauntlets and not even consider their use as weapons, it means Viktor would have to be pretty out of the loop for Vander's whole uprising and really not know about Vander in general at all, at least, not his reputation as a fighter.
(A few more thoughts on this:)
By the way, I find it completely plausible that, say, a studious kid who left the undercity for Piltover when he was anywhere between 12-17 to be would be out of the loop on politics let alone violent uprisings and their leadership. It's not like anyone was inviting Viktor to fight and he's exactly the sort of person who would probably steer clear of such fights out of self-preservation and/or would be kept away from them deliberately by anyone who was looking out for him.
On this note, I think this is another point of evidence in favor of Viktor not being particularly plugged into Zaunite politics or its revolutionary movements. As in, the fact that Viktor doesn't know enough about Vander to know he used mining gauntlets specifically as weapons indicates that the Silco/Vander revolution, such as it was, was something Viktor was very detached from before, during, and after. Probably because Viktor was already in Piltover and probably at a stage in his time there where he was too immersed in trying to establish himself to take a public interest in the conflict on the bridge.
Timeline-wise, Vi and Powder look to be about 5 and 8 when we first see them on the bridge, and they're about 11 and 14 during most of the events of 1.1-1.3. Jayce at the same time as those events are going on is canonically 24 and Viktor seems a little older than him, let's say 26, which would put him at about 20 when Vander's revolution happened. So, most likely firmly ensconced at the Academy and possibly even been there a couple years already, even further removing him from the years of the leadup to Vander's rebellion, and making it even less likely that he knew about Vander or Vander's infamous gauntlets.
However, this does further support the possibility I've raised in a few other metas that Viktor in general is fairly detached from the undercity and especially undercity/Zaun politics during his time in Piltover (he certainly seems surprised at how bad things have gotten in the undercity when he goes back there in S2, further implying that he does not go back regularly or that, when he does, his trips are fairly direct and don't involve exploring the more destitute depths of the city to see how bad things have gotten, but I digress).

Preliminary Zaundads timeline
(note: this is not a great, story, it's just what I think fits the facts presented the most)
Vander either falls in love with his miner buddy Silco or they knew each other first and became miners together.
Tumblr media
They strike up friendships with their miner budies, Felicia, Connel and Sevika. Maybe they all meet in this shack to spend their breaks or plot their revolution.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At some point they organize. They create or take over the drop. According to Vi's mom they "turned a crack in the earth into a thriving commuity" on the very day where Vi's mom tells them that she's having a kid and Vander names the kid. She credits both Vander and Silco with having had that idea of creating the thriving community.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point Vander is satisfied with what they've achieved (We're done).
Tumblr media
[admittedly, that could be sarcasm because he knows that they still have work ahead of them] However, Silco is thinking of more, of Zaun. Felicia describes their situation "living week to week" and says that that's "a lot of shit down here" that she would have to protect Vi from.
Vander seems to be into the idea of raising children and already talks about raising more than just a single one.
Tumblr media
She talks about carving Zaun out of the bedrock through menial work ("blisters") and that Silco and Vander will figure it out together. Silco toasts to Zaun. Vander only toasts to blisters and bedrock (note that he calls back to that in the letter to writes to Silco after nearly killing him).
Vi gets born, Powder gets born. It seems Mylo and Claggor are sort of around?
Note that even though Powder and Vi are older, their mom and dad still work as miners.
Tumblr media
My theory:
1.) Whatever Vander and Silco and the others were doing, they probably funded themselves through the mines? That's why Felicia and Connel kept mining. Or maybe they do deeper tunnels for additional housing? My theory is still that their big thing was to take over the mine they were working in and running it themselves (seize the means of production!) and they were able to fund a their thriving community.
2.) At this point Vander and Silco's relationship becomes more and more unhappy. And Vander distracts himself by throwing himself more and more into his role as an uncle and living vicariously through Felicia and Connel's relationship.
Vi and Powder apparently have a very happy childhool.
However something happens, leading to the Day of Ash uprising. (maybe something threatens their "thriving community") Where Felicia dies and Vander snaps and attacks Silco. However, he afterwards feels bad and writes him a letter, but Silco keeps his distance, not returning for years later.
Now, granted, most of this is still pretty unsatifying. For example, everything about Vi and Powder's childhood looks way too pristine and clean. Mining looks too happy and clean for how shit it should be.
Even Vander's Lanes after he drove out Silco were never that clean. (this is probably my hate for beardless Vander talking, maybe beardless Vander = Vander's self image of his more innocent self)
And that is aside that head canoning Vander and Silco running a criminal enterprise together is just way more fun than them completely sanely funding it through respectable mining.
How exactly did Vander get his Hound of Underground name anyway? I like to headcanon that he was a pit fighter like Vi, but was that before he became a miner or during or afterwards?
And how exactly did he get a reputation as a revolutionary at all when it feels that he barely did anything?
I'm just gonna pretend:
1.) Warwick is not dead. His healing factor will kick in. 2.) These are just the happy, sanitized, idealized memories of Vander's. We will get another flashback that will reveal that the truth was way darker and more fucked up and that Vander's happy memories were as fake as Viktor's happy cult community.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS WILL PROBABLY NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY THREE MORE EPISODES AND THOSE WILL BE DEDICATED TO OTHER STORYLINES THAT STILL NEED TO WRAP UP. I CAN'T HEAR YOU.

I don't think we ever really acknowledged any of this unresolved trauma Rouge has in tandem with Shadow and his experiences.
Remember when Rouge was the one who was given Shadow's bracer after it was presumed Shadow was dead after SA2?
Tumblr media
Now, remember that Heroes takes place not long after SA2, so let's acknowledge that up until that point, she thought Shadow was legitimately dead, only to stumble on him in a pod after trying to plunder Eggman's base. This guy was dead, she has the only item that was recovered from the aftermath, she knows that his chances of survival after Final Hazard was very slim.
Tumblr media
And then she discovers the whole stash of Shadow Androids and is torn between wanting to tell Shadow about this, and just letting it be so that if he did turn out to be a robot, then she doesn't have to dump that on him.
Tumblr media
Then there's the whole thing about watching helplessly as Shadow is manipulated and brainwashed by Black Doom. Watching Shadow spiral into insanity as he, depending on the alliance you chose for the game, either becomes fully complacent in the invasion, lose his mind and attempt an android uprising, or Shadow believing he himself shouldn't exist because of all the damage his existence has cause. Can you imagine Rouge having to witness this and try to reach out to her friend?
Tumblr media
Oh, and what about getting paralyzed by a toxic gas and almost getting digested by alien larva as she's completely immobile, and all she can do is scream and shout at Shadow to do something?
Tumblr media
This was enough to be a bit of a thing to acknowledge in the Archie comic continuation of the Black Arms invasion. She looks absolutely horrified.
Tumblr media
And having to be worried about Shadow's safety after he confronts Black Doom head on. She can't see him from down on the street, she just sees a flash of light and that parasitic comet getting blasted to smithereens.
Tumblr media
Oh, what about getting flung through Time the first time, and realizing that Shadow's trapped in a doomed future against a vindictive entity that has expressed the desire to erase him all together? She wasted no time in getting a plan to find him.
Tumblr media
And then there's the one version of Rouge that sacrificed herself to ensure that Omega will be able to hold onto that Chaos Emerald for 200 years so he can bring Shadow back home? Yeah, remember when Rouge literally condemned herself to perish in the burning inferno of The Day of Disaster, so that Shadow can escape to a timeline where they all lived?? Yeah, Sonic 06 is canonically un-happened, but this still was a scenario that was brought up.
Tumblr media
How is she so chill when she's been through all this? Her best friends are immortal and she's not. She's seen Shadow at his best and his worst moments. She's witnessed the near destruction of the world multiple times.
Tumblr media
Rouge spends so much time looking after Shadow's wellbeing, who's looking out for Rouge??
Where's Rouge's therapeutic side quest??

a/n: I will be doing this by House! Also, yes it doesn't make sense timeline wise but think of each as an alternate universe ✧˚ ༘ ⋆。♡˚

𝑫𝒂𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒔 | 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒔
・She did as she promised and liberated Westeros.
・No Mad Queen, but sacrifices were made. However, all three of her dragons survived.
・The Long Night was vanquished because Dany was The Prince Who Was Promised.
・In a turn of events, Viserion was not a male dragon. Dany didn't have three sons... she had two and a daughter!
・Viserion laid her clutch of eggs not far from Dany as she wanted her to be the first person to see them.
・Her clutch of eggs produced three beautiful dragons; the biggest was a deep blue with flecks of gold and bronze. The second was a gorgeous pink egg with light orange accents and the last was purple with pearlescent swirling details.
・Dany became a grandmother and as soon as she saw them hatch, she cried.
・Barely anyone was allowed to see the dragonlings; even though she had risen to power, she still felt the eyes of enemies on her back. Many would love to hurt these new dragons.
・Dany still did not have a pregnancy that came to full term; so her dragons were truly her legacy, with Viserion keeping the magic back in the world.
・The hatching of these new eggs made the realm respect her even more.
・She didn't have a traditional way of ruling; yes she had councilors, and a small council.
・But the wealth was distributed equally. With smallfolk able to have jobs and acquire ones that usually only nobles had.
・Speaking of small councils, she had two of her closest bloodriders, Greyworm, Missendai (yes she is alive, well and thriving), Ellaria Sand and Samwell Tarly (Gilly and their son live in the Red Keep).
・As Dany could not have biological human children of her own, she basically saw every child/orphan as her own, in some way or another. She saw herself in them. Her childhood of always on the run, dirty clothes, knotted hair, clasping her brother's hand.
・She didn't want that for any child.
・So Dany spent a lot of her time building safe houses, schools, places where children could go and feel seen, heard and feel protected.
・A different Westeros was forming and many did not like that. Uprisings were frequent. Always from the Faith of the Seven & the old nobles.
・But every time they were stopped. However, those that repeated were thrown into prison (and therefore used to create new buildings) or were put to death.
(P.s., Ellaria Sand is her book self, not her show self because they are entirely different. Some events from the show never happened because it made no sense for Dany to wait so long to break the wheel.)

・She won against her brother and sat the Iron Throne with a tired heart. Rhaenyra lost a lot more than she could handle and her days were spent fighting off her grief.
・That did not stop her from being the best queen she could be.
・Her energy was given to the people, to the dragons and to the restructure of House Targaryen.
・Since the Greens had nearly torn what it was to be a Targaryen, Rhaenyra had a lot to do. So, she depended on those who were loyal to her. Baela, Addam, Corlys, etc.
・Oh, and not to forget Syrax.
・Syrax kept a lot of people in check when they came to court.
・As the dragon pit was partially destroyed (the dragons were okay though, they survived, help came just in time!) the living dragons now roamed to find a proper place to live. Dragonstone became a lot more populated.
・The love of the dragons would be reintroduced. One way she would do that, would be to reinstate the idolisation of the dragons. I.e., basically showing off the dragons.
・So, more royal processions atop dragons.
・As a skilled dragonrider herself, Rhaenyra may have placed greater emphasis on the role of dragons and their riders in the defense and governance of the realm.
・It would not always be easy. Especially with the fact that Rhaenyra's rise to power involved the killing of her own nephew, Aegon II. This would cast a long shadow over her reign and create lingering resentment among some factions.
・But through the influence of Mysaria, the smallfolk and those less fortunate would definitely be focused on. No more fighting pits! (Let's remember that Aegon frequented them...)
・Additionally, through Rhaenyra's victory, there would be a shift in the balance of power among the noble houses. For example; The Hightowers, who backed Aegon II, might have lost influence, while the Velaryons and other supporters of Rhaenyra might have gained prominence. This is all up in the air however, as Rhaenyra did have a forgiving heart... (I mean, before all the war...)
・What I know to be true, is that Rhaenyra would have maintained a strong dragon presence in King's Landing. Positively - this would have deterred potential threats and rebellions. And also led to a more prominent role for the dragonriders in the governance of the realm.
Tumblr media
𝑹𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒔 | 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝑾𝒂𝒔
・Is in history books as one of the best rulers
・Balanced, open-minded and level-headed; Rhaenys didn't need a council - she was one all on her own.
・She grew up never thinking she would rule; so she was quiet and watched everyone's moves
・The Sea Snake was a brilliant King-Consort, still the leader of Driftmark
・Meleys was truly The Red Queen; her own horns and spikes resembled Rhaenys' crown and when they were together, they were utterly breathtaking
・As said before with the others, with Rhaenys and her dragon, Meleys, in a position of power, the presence of dragons would have been more pronounced in the governance of the realm. This could have deterred potential rebellions and solidified her authority
・A lot of her reign would reflect her own grandmother's - The Good Queen Alysanne. 100% Rhaenys would continue with the women's councils.
・The women of Westeros would be given opportunities. I think Rhaenys would take a lot of inspiration from Dorne. And how women were equal to men, because why the hell not?
・And as a dragon rider, who was going to tell her no? Meleys was definitely not about to let anyone defy her either.
・However, one of her greatest allies was the North.
・And due to the North's historical resistance to female leadership, her ability to assert authority and govern effectively would sway Northern lords to reconsider their biases against women on the throne.
・So, by demonstrating strong leadership, it fostered greater acceptance of her rule among Northern houses, and increased their loyalty.
・This is only one example of how she got herself written in the history books.
Tumblr media
𝑩𝒂𝒆𝒍𝒂 | 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒆𝒔
・Known for her bravery and strong character, Baela brought a fresh perspective to the Iron Throne. She prioritized unity among tTeam Black and Team Green and those that chose between Rhaenyra and Aegon.
・Baela addressed the grievances from various houses and the common folk alike - making a more equitable society.
・Jace's death was a great grief. As was ... basically all her family. It was quickly pushed forward that she needed to marry.
・Baela shut that shit down quick.
・She swore that if she were to marry, she would choose who and when.
・The scars left by the civil war were still fresh in the minds of many houses. Those that aligned with the Greens, sought to undermine Baela's rule, viewing her as a representative of the Blacks. This historical animosity had led to plots and conspiracies aimed at destabilizing her reign
・But it is mainly through the dragons that Baela remained in control. As charming, bold and brave Baela can be, Moondancer ... reinforced people's loyalty. With the death of the majority of Team Green as well as their dragons, there was only other Houses to oppose her.
・She was also known as 'Our Queen of the Skies'. And after ruling for more than 20 years, the people saw Baela as a goddess.
・Some say she was part dragon herself, with how much she was in the air, flying on Moondancer (who many, many children adored.)
・Many rumors grew which made Baela seem impossibly mysterious
・It made the people respect her; and therefore they listened to what she had to say.
・Even the others in court grew to respect her.
・Baela, much like Alysanne, had a ladies court in which she listened to the problems they had.
・Spare food was always given to the smallfolk, unlike other rulers who gave it to the dogs or horses.
・Baela's approach to governance altered the trajectories of other key figures in the realm
・Her leadership focused on healing the divisions within the realm, strengthening alliances, and leveraging the power of dragons to maintain peace and order.
Tumblr media
𝑹𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒏𝒂 | 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆'𝒔 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏
・Yes! her name reflects Princess Diana's real life title, 'The People's Princess'!
・Her reign would be known as one of peace.
・Well, not only peace, but a unique one as well.
・Rhaena addressed the grievances of the common folk and fostered goodwill among the people of both regions through fair governance and an empathic approach.
・The People's Queen shocked many, many people with how strategic she showed herself to be.
・She did this by navigating the political landscape and carefully addressing the concerns of powerful houses in both the North and the South which led to stability.
・Used her access to dragons as a symbol of authority and a powerful military asset to deter rebellion and reinforce her position.
・Rhaena's dragon Morning, hatched during the Dance of the Dragons and kept growing
・She was a very friendly dragon - similar to Silverwing, and didn't mind being paraded around
・Her experience with the devastation of the Dance of the Dragons, made Rhaena prioritize healing the rifts within the realm.
・Rhaena had strong ties to both the dragonriders and the great naval power of House Velaryon. This continued an emphasis on the Targaryen dominance of the skies, and the Velaryon's dominance on the seas.
・Rhaena's reign ushered in a cultural renaissance. The People's Queen promoted the arts, literature, and education. Her leadership style encouraged creativity and innovation, reflecting a more progressive and enlightened era in Westeros.

In the early hours of June 28, 1969, a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in New York's Greenwich Village met unexpected resistance. Fed up with years of harassment, LGBTQIA+ patrons fought back. What followed was six days of unrest—and the start of a movement. Led in part by trans activists like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, the uprising challenged not only police brutality but society's silence.
