A TMNT Easter Short (Can be any iteration you wish!)

I had 90s TMNT in mind while writing this. I just think that the 90s version of Leo is super sexy! 💙💙💙💙💙💙

You stood in your apartment smiling, your hands running through the box of colorful Easter grass on the table. You didn’t think that it would arrive on time, but it did. Along with four bright Easter baskets and various Easter candies. Your eyes lingered on the bright blue basket for a few seconds, your heart squeezing. You imagined how his face would light up when you handed it to him. Leo. The leader of not only his brothers, but your heart as well. 

You bit your lower lip, a sigh escaping your lungs. When you first met them, having just been accosted, you were just grateful to have been rescued. You had absolutely no idea that the fearless leader would spark something deep inside you as his beautiful blue eyes met yours. 

You didn’t see the shell on his back. You didn’t notice that his hands were two times the size of yours. No. All you saw was his smile. The way it met his eyes when he approached you that day. You saw his light, the way he moved with care. Slowly, tenderly, reaching out for you. 

“Hey.” He said softly. “It’s ok. We’re here.”

You stared up at him from your crouched position. Your heart beating wildly in your chest. No longer from fear. Oh no. Something much more powerful. Slowly you rose, your legs wobbly. You stumbled forward and Leo quickly took hold of your forearms, steadying you. His touch! Your skin sung with an exquisite electricity, snaking upward towards your shoulders. You gasped. Leo’s eyes widened. “Did you feel that?” You breathed. He nodded, slowly. 

Nothing would ever be the same for you two again. 

“Are you ready, my child?” Master Splinter’s voice broke through your reverie. 

You grinned, spinning to face him, unaware that a few tears had managed to escape your eyes. “Are you alright?” He said, concern causing his whiskers to pull downward as he pointed to your face. 

You brought your fingers up to your cheeks. “Oh.” You smiled slightly. “These aren’t sad tears, dad.”

“I see.” His warm brown eyes glistened. “Memories are powerful things.”

“Yes. They certainly are.” You grinned, Leo’s smiling face flashing through your mind. 

“Might I ask what you were remembering?” He asked, stepping around you and up to the table. 

“Oh, I uh,” You quickly blushed. “I was thinking about the time I first met Leo.”

Splinter chuckled. “Ah! Yes. A very complicated memory to be sure. One that both elicited pain and happiness?”

You closed your eyes for a second, his words hitting deeply. “Yes.” As you opened your eyes, he closed his thin soft hand over yours. 

“Fear not, my child. Though the memory remains, the pain is also now nothing but a memory. I am glad that my son was able to counterbalance such a dark time in your life.”

You nodded. “So am I, dad. So am I.” 

“So, how are we supposed to put these together?” He smiled, motioning to the baskets. 

For the next hour, you and Master Splinter carefully constructed each Easter basket with care. Master Splinter added his own twist to the baskets, placing several Japanese coins in with the candy along with Bonsai tree clippings wrapped with silk. “These are for good health and good luck.” He winked, placing the last of the coins in Michelangelo’s basket. 

“I think that’s beautiful.” You smiled. “A nice blend of traditions.”

Master Splinter cleared his throat as he grabbed the cellophane. “I agree. There’s always room for new things. New rituals. Different ways to do things. As long as there is love involved, it should not matter.”

You were practically bursting at the seams with excitement as you and Master Splinter entered the lair, two baskets each in your arms. The guys had never had an Easter before. In fact when you approached Master Splinter about it, you were unsure he’d even go for it. You knew that they practiced Shinto and didn’t want to risk offending anyone with your idea. But when you pitched it to him, he was open to the idea and liked that you were willing to share the Easter tradition with them. You explained that you only really did it for the candy and thought that the guys would get a kick out of getting Easter baskets with goodies. 

Now, crossing the living room to the kitchen, knowing that Leo would be sitting at the table with a cup of tea steaming before him, you smiled, trying to contain yourself. Somewhere behind you, you heard Mikey squeal and your excitement boiled over into a laugh as you rounded into the kitchen. Leo looked up from his comic book, his bright blue eyes widening as you set his basket down on the table, the tea packets behind the cellophane catching the overhead kitchen light, making them shine. 

“What’s this?” He smiled, slowly standing, his chair scraping across the floor. 

You gently set Raph’s basket down, some of the contents shifting slightly. “It’s for you.” You breathed. “Happy Easter, Luv.” 

Leo smiled, pulling you to him, his arms wrapping around you. You pressed your cheek to his plastron, grinning. This was home. He was home. Suddenly the basket, the kitchen, and everything else in the world, no longer existed. All that was left and all there ever was and will forever remain, was love.

Watched Many Unhappy Returns with brother (bonus screenshots)

i had already watched the show with my eldest younger sister and middle younger brother but had yet to share it with my oldest younger brother. He is a big 2012 and g1 TMNT fan and so subjecting him to this show has enlightened me SO MUCH about Easter eggs. I had no idea about ice cream cat being a thing lol

We have had so much fun in this episode especially but we got to THIS SCENE in the episode (I have told him zero spoilers about anything) and he IMMEDIATELY paused the episode and looked at Big Mama's Assistant and said "that's another turtle. Wth."

and I told him what I knew because I didn't want him to get his hopes up. When he heard that she was a lost sister and never showed up again he was really sad, and when I told him it was because nickelodeon cut the show short his exact words were "Screw You Nickelodeon."

Lol, he's the brother who reminds me the most of Leo personally at least in this iteration (I've started to call him Nardo when we are making fun of each other) so I was really excited to show him Leo's arc in this episode too. Essentially his reaction was the same as mine but he guessed the truth sooner.

And when Mikey flung the freight liner at the Shredder he was just staring in awe and watching as the shredder ripped through the ship. Like, gosh darnit they went SO hard for that episode. Also the parallels to the Kraang fight 👀👀👀👀👀

But uh mostly I wanted to share this that Nardo found. I had no idea about these scenes being interesting at all and now I am wondering what the animators were on when they made these tiny little shots of the human boat during the shredder fight :3

TMNT: SATURDAY MORNING ADVENTURES #15

Aware of the existence of the Turtles, the interdimensional crime syndicate known as "the pantheon" makes plans to eliminate their threat to their future.

Previews of this issue already revealed some of the spoilers on who is in the Pantheon, so I will discuss that after the break.

Dan Schoening is so great not only at following the original style of the show, but also into adapting it to new characters. Having said that, I feel like there is at least one "new" character that I don't think had a graceful jump into this style.

In any case, I liked the issue very much. This is going to be a two-parter, so I was wondering how Erik was going to put all that much story in it. But the way he solved it makes a lot of sense. Two parts may still be a little too short, but I understand that to the old fans, prolonging this saga with new villains could be considered a sales risk.

I figured out who everyone was from the previous, but I still got surprised when I saw that the dragon in question was Drako.

As for Old Hob... something looks off about him. But I guess they needed to make him look as different from Scratch as possible. And speaking of Scratch, I wonder what his role will be in all of this. He is just too "big" of a character to blend in the background.

There is a whole sequence of easter eggs in this issue that defies continuity. If you are not aware, the comic takes place between seasons 7 and 8. In the past I got confused by some continuity discrepancies (like the Hall of Science). It has been confirmed that sometimes Dan Schoening puts easter eggs in his art, and that was then, not supposed to be the actual location. In the same way, this sequence of easter eggs has characters like Titanus (from the eight season). The whole thing is not meant to be taken as real, but why would there be an imaginary appearance of a villain that was yet to appear?

While easter eggs are fun... I would try to avoid confusing the readers. There are other new characters there if I am seeing correctly... perhaps Savanti Romero?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants Review - Better Left In The Sewers - Game Informer

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were synonymous with gaming in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, largely thanks to their influence over arcade brawlers. Games like 1989’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (also known as ’89 Arcade) and 1991’s Turtles in Time are time-honored classics that shaped the side-scrolling beat-‘em-up genre, and 2022’s Shredder’s Revenge demonstrated that the style is still viable in the modern landscape. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants clearly takes inspiration from those beloved games, but it falls spectacularly short of those acclaimed titles.

Originally released to arcades in 2017, Wrath of the Mutants takes a similar approach to gameplay as the original TMNT arcade games: You choose from Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael, each with distinct moves, as you slash and brawl through stages full of baddies. Based on the 2012 Nickelodeon cartoon, Wrath of the Mutants includes a ton of enemies for the Turtles to beat up in various locales; this home port adds three all-new stages and six new bosses. Unfortunately, no amount of Easter eggs and fanservice can compensate for its uninteresting gameplay.

Though the core concept is the same as the most beloved entries in the series, I never felt anything more than listlessness as I fought through the six extremely linear stages on offer. Each Turtle brandishes their signature weapon and a unique Turtle Power that clears the screen of enemies. These moves should feel empowering, but instead, they throw the action to a halt while a drawn-out animation plays; Leo spins to form a tornado that sucks up all the minions, while Raph drums on the ground, sending enemies flying.

But it all feels so routine as you fight through waves of the exact same enemies in tedious stages that require no strategy – you just go right and spam the attack button. You can also pick up power-ups that cause your character to spin on their shell or summon side characters to dispatch enemies, but with the base combat so uninteresting, I only enjoyed deploying these frequent special moves because they provided a quicker path through the long levels.

Brawling the seemingly endless screens of Foot and Krang minions found in each stage wouldn’t be so bad if the signature arcade unfairness wasn’t ever-present. TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants isn’t a tough game by any measure, but there are moments where you simply cannot avoid being hit. At nearly every phase, enemies attack you from off-screen, where you can’t see or reach them, and they frustratingly won’t stop attacking you nor come into view unless you go to the other side of the screen. Additionally, enemy projectiles are deadly accurate, and with the Turtles’ sluggish movement and no way to effectively dodge, you’re all but guaranteed to take hits.

These enemies don’t do a ton of damage, but it’s often death by a thousand papercuts, and since each hit briefly stuns you, your combos are constantly getting interrupted. The bosses, who often just repeat the same attacks over and over, are trials of patience rather than engaging challenges. These boss encounters typically bring slight variations on the same move sets, causing them to all play out similarly. Even the final fight against Shredder does little to differentiate itself; he just lumbers around the screen while you wail on him with little strategy required other than jumping when the game tells you to jump – another repeated convention in nearly every boss battle.

Stage elements meant to break up the monotony serve as more frustration than diversity of experience. Trains speed past, Krang’s Android body shoots electricity at you, and explosive barrels litter the levels, but they add so little. In one instance, where a giant eyeball continually blasts lasers at you while you fight waves of enemies, your character is too slow to avoid getting zapped unless you’re just standing around waiting for it to broadcast where it’s firing. I should be excited to see these new challenges and twists emerge, but I met most of them with a shrug and others with annoyance.

Though seeing the 2012 animated series get some attention in 2024 is fun, the presentation also disappoints. The visuals are nothing special, and I’m not a fan of some of the character designs of this era, but they fit the show’s look well enough. It’s the audio that most irritates, as the Turtles obnoxiously scream the entire time and enemies repeatedly spout the same lines while generic action-oriented music loops in the background. After the first few levels, I was relieved to crank the volume down and listen to something else instead.

Beating the entire game takes less than two hours, but it still somehow manages to drag. You can return to the game’s six stages to try and get higher scores, but I had zero interest in doing so. The arcade games of yesteryear sometimes lacked depth, but they at least had a hook that stuck with you and kept you itching to return to pump more quarters into the cabinet. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants strives for the greatness of the influential arcade hits of the past but falls well short. Thanks to uninteresting and annoying gameplay, repetitive enemy and boss encounters, and grating audio design, Wrath of the Mutants is little more than a shell of the series’ glory years.

Samurai Rabbit trivia refs (+ name reminder)

just short post to say: Usagi is meant as his given name.

We don't know the lore or backstory for why Yuichi was picked as a surname

update from 6.01.2024: Candie Langdale, one of the showrunners for SR, confirmed that it is indeed Yuichi Usagi [surname][given name] and that they asked about Yuichi as a surname from both their japanese consultant and Stan.

the backstory is that they wanted to name him Usagi, but wanted to differentiate him from Miyamoto Usagi as well. They also wanted to honor the guy working at the karaoke bar they had been frequenting the past 12 years. Yuichi was considered based on these as a surname.

the show follows the same naming conventions as the comic, so [surname][given name] as in real-world japan, Gen introduces himself as Murakami Gennosuke in ep 4.

However, it mostly drops honorifics in the EN language original (but the honorifics are back for some characters in the JP dub)

You can use/do whatever you want in your own fanfic/versions but it's just good to know where the show is coming from

You can also use them in the same way as Stan and the show's crew do - Usagi when it's just about him, Yuichi when they also bring Miyamoto Usagi into the convo, or "our Usagi"/Yuichi and "Stan's Usagi/Miyamoto when talking about them both.

Whether Yuichi is meant as a namesake, a title, or just a very rare surname, the show itself has all the younger/ally characters call each other by first name, while older/enemy characters get called by their title+surname (w/ the exception of Lady Fuwa and Chizu, bc of the story arc there)

his own aunt calls him Usagi

both names are probably meant to be used in general, but in-world, everyone who becomes friends with him starts calling him Usagi, which is the name he prefers to introduce himself (see episode 1)

I have a suspicion that maybe that's what the name was for, like a consideration for the old fans and new viewers. Maybe it was intentional because the showrunners were aware how naming is tricky for this franchise (re: that 1987 TMNT re-named Miyamoto Usagi "Usagi Yojimbo" and most 87 fans still know him as that? the showrunners are old enough to have been in that audience) so maybe they intentionally looked for something that would sound good as both surname and given name (just another thought)

Anyway, since there's still confusion by fans abt it, here's some good general sources also just for those interested in learning more random trivia abt the show. But these are the sources I've used to refute for myself what older posts/tags claim: that there was no research and no respect in the show for Stan's original work or for Japanese culture. From these it seems like the opposite is true.

"Samurai Rabbit Facts" - this is a "# facts" video but provides a lot of interesting trivia from both the show and crew, as well as about Stan's involvement in the show. Fun stuff in general, like how Usagi's sandal features Stan's signature as a fun easter egg to characters they wanted to include but didn't have time to.

The Comicbook Couples Councelling podcast with Stan and Samurai Rabbit crew (youtube vers) - This interview features Stan and art director Khang Le talking about the characters and the art, while showrunners Candie and Doug Langdale answer burning questions about the storylines and writing the show as well as learning new things during pre-production and research. Both sides talk a bit about the challenges of adapting something as prolific as Usagi Yojimbo for a younger audience.

The 2021 SDCC @Home panel with Stan, crew and cast - LOTS of fun visuals and very informative on how the crew worked on the show when the first COVID lockdown happened.

The POPverse interview with Stan Sakai - This is a great interview about many of these same things in the other interviews, if you prefer reading rather than listening to interviews.

I have my old post abt Usagi's names and the connection to Senso (one of the main inspirations for the series) and i'm writing a new one, but I thought this shorter post might be useful. Plus, while writing longer essay-like things can be fun for me personally, the ultimate goal there is to provide some food-for-thought for other fans while being informative abt the show itself. Hope this helps!

(update 16.01: both of these are now slightly disproven I suppose since we know the real reason from co-showrunner Candie Langdale now since january 6th haha xD but - still keeping these as the theory is still interesting).

It's That Time Of Year

(A TMNT drabble)

Mike just ran by, yelling, "You never saw me!"

Now, ordinarily I'd wonder what was going on… but given the time of year, I don't think I have to guess.

Any minute now Raph will come running out of his room, his nap cut short. He'll be fuming, and between angry breaths he'll ask me which way Mike went. I won't have to answer him, though, because we'll both hear Mikey snickering from his hiding place.

And here comes Raph now, with clenched fists, gritted teeth, and an Easter bonnet superglued to his head.

I guess it must be springtime.

Hii, I’m not sure if this is the right way to do a match up but sup.

I’m 5’7, I go by all pronouns but I mainly use he/him and she/her. I’m bisexual, short hair half black half blue hair (I love coloring my hair all the time) dark brown eyes, chubby, (big thighs, bongos, butt and tummy) I blush easily, smaller lips and I wear clear glasses.

I’m always wearing a beanie with anime pins in it, it feels weird to walk around without it lol. Either wearing combat boots, vans, converse or nothing. I like to dress comfy (hoodies and sweatpants or Harry Potter pajama pants) and rarely dress fancy. I dress a bit alternative depending on my mood but I don’t go all out. I’m either wearing black eyeliner and some concealer or nothing at all.

I struggle with ADHD, depression and social anxiety. I’m an ISTP, so I’m very introverted and rarely get out. I still sleep with stuffed animals and have posters all around my room because they’re comforting for me. I really enjoy horror, Disney and animated shows/movies. I’m obsessed with Jojos bizzare adventure, danganronpa and tmnt. I’m a huge anime fan, I started watching in 2016 and been a fan ever since. My favorite movie is the nightmare before Christmas (I love the soundtrack) my favorite video games are genshin impact, overwatch and Mario Kart. Im also into rock music, mainly heavy metal, alternative etc. and I like kpop, and Ariana grande.

BNHA: A Day(te) at the Mall

Back at school now, so drawings may take a while once I find the inspiration. Anyways, here's another BNHA fan drawing of my OC Kiyomi with Todoroki. This time, I have a little tease on what their relationship is. The idea to draw these two was inspired by this screenshot here (and I wanted to draw Kiyomi in Shirayuki's pose too for a bit of practice): https://sta.sh/03y5zdigy2g

Now, this isn't exactly the Mall that was seen during the s2 finale, but it's fairly close. I would imagine that every once in a while, the U.A. students would go to the mall to hang out and de-stress from all the stuff going on at school. I wanted to incorparate several little Easter eggs from the other shows that I'm into (TMNT, TS Sanders Sides, Steven Universe, etc.), so feel free to let me know if you catch them all! I will point out that the cans on the first shelf in the background is greatly inspired by something I've seen at my nearby mall; My Hero Academia branded energy drinks. I thought it would be fun to just throw those Plus Ultra energy drinks there. Overall, I had a lot of fun making this drawing and all the little details. I did forget the loops on Kiyomi's shorts that usually holds the belt up, but that's a tiny detail. You can also see where I first drew Todoroki via the outline, but I had to start over because I wanted him to be closer to Kiyomi. I also didn't want to redraw him in Zen's pose, because... well, he doesn't have a sword to lean against. :P But it's still fun to practice drawing their poses, and they both came out great!

Hey, if you read this far into the description, I wanna explain a bit on this "Kiyoto" relationship. I did mention in a previous drawing that Kiyomi has a crush on Todoroki, and their relationship is a "slow-burn". I can confirm that this is a canonxOC ship! A little backstory to this is Kiyomi was inspired by watching the Sports Festival (particularly Todoroki vs. Midoriya) for a project in her General Education class (Kiyomi's old school did not have hero courses). After finding out that her Quirk could have potential in hero work, Kiyomi considered transferring to U.A. High and began to do some training (I plan on explaining the second Entrance Exam soon, but it does involve another one of my 1-A OCs). Kiyomi and seven others were enrolled to the Hero Course after passing the exam, where she ends up in 1-A. That's when she met Todoroki and developed her crush on him. Originally, he wasn't sure why Kiyomi would act so flustered around his presence, which led him to originally think he was doing something to make her upset and uncomfortable. But what Todoroki did see was that Kiyomi seems to care about him, such as her optimistic statements that he will catch up with the rest of his class after failing the License Exam. After some friendly bonding and finding out that he was her inspiration, Todoroki started to develop similar feelings for Kiyomi. I'm not entirely sure where else I can take this relationship, because I've only seen the anime, and the overall story of BNHA is still ongoing. I feel like there's a lot of stuff ahead for the young heroes.

Donnie

We get more information reinforcing aspects of Donnie’s character.

1.His response to Mikey concern about the cat orphanage is “ Those cats were orphaned for a reason.” Dang, you could sink a ship with that ice berg Donnie.

2. Shelldon has an anti turtle ray and settings that send him on a rampage if Donnie’s brothers violate a pet peeve of his or if they are mean to him...

...People of the world let us have tea time. So whenever you have someone, a family member or a friend, doing things (even little things) that bother you talk to them about those things. Don’t assume that the things that bother you shouldn’t bother you or be afraid to talk to that person. Enforce your boundaries and work with others to balance them. Least you find yourself creating robots that police your family or friend group according to your preferences.

Seriously though, Donnie’s passive aggressive behavior is a real problem and a interesting part of his character. More please.

Raph

I might be the only one who find it interesting to see that Raph was hesitant to confront Donnie about his gifts at first, but in this situation he flat out tells him that the Shelldon’s rampage is his fault. I know the situations are very different, but there is this headcannon going around about Raph being the most emotionally intelligent out of his brothers, which makes sense for his character honestly. Then again I could just be over thinking this so ignore me.

Leo

I might also be the only one to find it interesting that Leo took the time to complement Raph on his vocabulary in the middle of the chaos. He was literally (unintentionally) being cool. Though Leo is out-spoken and assertive like Donnie but he is definitely more chill. I am still waiting for an episode that focuses on Leo and Donnie.

Mikey

So Mikey is the rascal that drinks all of Donnie’s milk and puts it back in the fridge. And ironically saves the day with milk carton.

Shelldon

Shelldon’s voice = 2012 Mikey’s voice.

Building relationships

Once you reach the level where you can use all four turtles at once, you must begin building a relationship with your brothers. You can do this by using your brother throw, but take turns who is doing the throw. For example, Leo throws Ralph and vice versa, Don throws Mike. Successful brother throws will build their relationship, and then you can use their double team attacks. However, failed throws will make them mad at you, and they will go away and you must win their trust again. Raphael seems to be the one that you make mad most often.

To get an 'A' in working with your brothers, use the turtle's special move when fighting. Keep switching turtles and do the same thing until all enemies are defeated.

There is a laser beam that is fired in the chamber approximately every 90 seconds. You have that long to reach a chamber that will protect you from the laser beam. Each time you reach one of these doorways that protects you from the laser, it opens a checkpoint. First, if you are not already using Raphael, switch to him. It is a far jump to the first platform, and although you could use Mikey's helicopter move, it takes too long. To save time, do a team jump to this platform. You will see two red pipes with a narrow gap between them. Bird jump between them to the top of the next platform, then jump from platform to platform and step through the first doorway. As time grows short, the platforms will give way; you must be fast. Once the platforms give, the laser will fire resulting in instant death. The doorway has a cage door on it that closes while this is happening. You must get up to the top platform and into that door before the cage locks you out. Once the cage opens, jump to the next platforms and you will get to a bird jump like the previous spot between the red pipes. You will now be on a platform that will have a power climb for Raphael to climb up. Climb to the top and jump to the next platform that has the protection for you to make it to the next check point. You now have ledges that you must scale up along with the platforms to jump on. Instead of jumping to the next platform, run across the wall and land near or on the first ledge to climb. Jump up to that ledge to the longer one above it. Move to the end of that ledge and jump on to the swinging poles that are near it, then quickly swing across all three poles to reach another platform. Jump onto the ledges above it then scale across the wall to reach the final platform.

Defeating Shredder

In the Boss fight where you must defeat Shredder, instead of focusing on the many Shredder clones, try fighting the real Shredder. He just stands still while his clones fight you. One attack that works well is Don's team move that shocks any enemy near its radius. Cara cheat zombie tsunami menggunakan game killer walkthrough. Get near him and use it. It will shock the clones and him, and he will not be able to attack. Change to Raphael (because he fights the hardest) and attack Shredder a few times until he recovers. Once he recovers, repeat the steps until he is defeated. After this level, the Foot Clan will appear. Use a similar tactic when a Foot commander calls in more Foot ninjas as you defeat them. Use the same tactic on him. If you do not, he will overwhelm you with lots of Foot ninjas.

You stood in your apartment smiling, your hands running through the box of colorful Easter grass on the table. You didn’t think that it would arrive on time, but it did. Along with four bright Easter baskets and various Easter candies. Your eyes lingered on the bright blue basket for a few seconds, your heart squeezing. You imagined how his face would light up when you handed it to him. Leo. The leader of not only his brothers, but your heart as well. 

You bit your lower lip, a sigh escaping your lungs. When you first met them, having just been accosted, you were just grateful to have been rescued. You had absolutely no idea that the fearless leader would spark something deep inside you as his beautiful blue eyes met yours. 

You didn’t see the shell on his back. You didn’t notice that his hands were two times the size of yours. No. All you saw was his smile. The way it met his eyes when he approached you that day. You saw his light, the way he moved with care. Slowly, tenderly, reaching out for you. 

“Hey.” He said softly. “It’s ok. We’re here.”

You stared up at him from your crouched position. Your heart beating wildly in your chest. No longer from fear. Oh no. Something much more powerful. Slowly you rose, your legs wobbly. You stumbled forward and Leo quickly took hold of your forearms, steadying you. His touch! Your skin sung with an exquisite electricity, snaking upward towards your shoulders. You gasped. Leo’s eyes widened. “Did you feel that?” You breathed. He nodded, slowly. 

Nothing would ever be the same for you two again. 

“Are you ready, my child?” Master Splinter’s voice broke through your reverie. 

You grinned, spinning to face him, unaware that a few tears had managed to escape your eyes. “Are you alright?” He said, concern causing his whiskers to pull downward as he pointed to your face. 

You brought your fingers up to your cheeks. “Oh.” You smiled slightly. “These aren’t sad tears, dad.”

“I see.” His warm brown eyes glistened. “Memories are powerful things.”

“Yes. They certainly are.” You grinned, Leo’s smiling face flashing through your mind. 

“Might I ask what you were remembering?” He asked, stepping around you and up to the table. 

“Oh, I uh,” You quickly blushed. “I was thinking about the time I first met Leo.”

Splinter chuckled. “Ah! Yes. A very complicated memory to be sure. One that both elicited pain and happiness?”

You closed your eyes for a second, his words hitting deeply. “Yes.” As you opened your eyes, he closed his thin soft hand over yours. 

“Fear not, my child. Though the memory remains, the pain is also now nothing but a memory. I am glad that my son was able to counterbalance such a dark time in your life.”

You nodded. “So am I, dad. So am I.” 

“So, how are we supposed to put these together?” He smiled, motioning to the baskets. 

For the next hour, you and Master Splinter carefully constructed each Easter basket with care. Master Splinter added his own twist to the baskets, placing several Japanese coins in with the candy along with Bonsai tree clippings wrapped with silk. “These are for good health and good luck.” He winked, placing the last of the coins in Michelangelo’s basket. 

“I think that’s beautiful.” You smiled. “A nice blend of traditions.”

Master Splinter cleared his throat as he grabbed the cellophane. “I agree. There’s always room for new things. New rituals. Different ways to do things. As long as there is love involved, it should not matter.”

You were practically bursting at the seams with excitement as you and Master Splinter entered the lair, two baskets each in your arms. The guys had never had an Easter before. In fact when you approached Master Splinter about it, you were unsure he’d even go for it. You knew that they practiced Shinto and didn’t want to risk offending anyone with your idea. But when you pitched it to him, he was open to the idea and liked that you were willing to share the Easter tradition with them. You explained that you only really did it for the candy and thought that the guys would get a kick out of getting Easter baskets with goodies. 

Now, crossing the living room to the kitchen, knowing that Leo would be sitting at the table with a cup of tea steaming before him, you smiled, trying to contain yourself. Somewhere behind you, you heard Mikey squeal and your excitement boiled over into a laugh as you rounded into the kitchen. Leo looked up from his comic book, his bright blue eyes widening as you set his basket down on the table, the tea packets behind the cellophane catching the overhead kitchen light, making them shine. 

“What’s this?” He smiled, slowly standing, his chair scraping across the floor. 

You gently set Raph’s basket down, some of the contents shifting slightly. “It’s for you.” You breathed. “Happy Easter, Luv.” 

Leo smiled, pulling you to him, his arms wrapping around you. You pressed your cheek to his plastron, grinning. This was home. He was home. Suddenly the basket, the kitchen, and everything else in the world, no longer existed. All that was left and all there ever was and will forever remain, was love.

Hi, I was hoping you could do a tmnt matchup for me.

I'm a pale, thin, short 17 year old Aussie girl. I have straight, long, soft brown hair and green eyes. I've been called fragile and delicate because of how small and weak I am, but I also get called adorable and cute so I can't complain to much. I like to wear dresses, skirts and short shorts! I also have glasses and don't like wearing shoes.

I'm the oldest sister with a little brother and sister and I babysit alot, I've spent my whole life takeing care of others. I'm shy and awkward with people I don't know, but cheerful and always smiling with friends. My friends pick on me cause I'm innocent and very inexperienced in romance and blush easily. I'm not used to affection from anyone other then kids so when someone is affectionate I don't know what to do and am really awkward. Despite all this, I've also been called scary, when someone is doing something bad I give them 'the disappointed mum look' and normally they stop what they are doing, I only do this with people I am close to tho.

I like animals and listening to music, any kind, I love it all. I paint sometimes but I am focusing on be comeing a kindergarten teacher. I have a lot of family who are professional fighters and I sometimes play fight with them, but I'm not much of a fighter so it normally ends with me laughing on the ground after getting thrown.

I also so get hit on alot, mainly be older creepy dudes, but my sister says I'm to polite because I don't do anything about it, smile and try to leave.
