This event is designed to further explore Episode 4x05, “Escape from the Happy Place”. We invite you to write new works based around the memories we didn’t see while Eliot was searching for the door out of his mind. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the first ever Spectacular Summer of Shame! We had a wonderful time reading your stories of young love and missed encounters, of car crashes and body glitter, of heart attacks and hope. Thanks to all of your hard work writing, we're ending this two weeks festival with a collection of seven works that the world can now enjoy!

To anyone who hasn't had a chance to read through the collection yet, please do! And if you have any ideas for future writing events you would like to see, please let us know.

The front door of the Cottage spilled open to the most tragic cacophony of power chords and mumbling to ever grace Eliot’s ears. Charlton actually yelped, much to his amusement. For all his awkward seriousness, it was nice to see that he recognized terrible music when he heard it.

In which Eliot goes to a Creed concert, and has no pants. Written for Eliot Waugh's Spectacular Summer of Shame.

Here we have it folks, the (likely) final work in the Spectacular Summer of Shame! This one was also written by our moderator, @theauditty , as a gift for our other moderator, @rubickk7 , who wanted to make everyone cry over listening to Creed for the sake of a fanfiction. We sincerely hope you all enjoy <3

Hello friends! The first week of the Spectacular Summer of Shame has come to a close, and we've received some awesome stories from you!  We've seen some fun trends, and look forward to what might be coming next! Your moderators wanted to take a moment and reflect on  some of their favorite story observations so far; 

 TheAuditty is really into how differently everyone has written Charlton. From a wisened, no-nonsense guide to a disgruntled hitchhiker, to a genuine friend, it's been really cool seeing how everyone interprets this character a little differently. 

Rubickk7 is enjoying all the different iterations of the memories and Eliot has summoned in his mind, and how much his interactions with his pseudo-companions vary based on their circumstances. They're all so lovely!

We’ve seen it mentioned before how surprising it is that some things don’t appear on this list, such as Mike McCormick. It is possible that his name was on the list, and we couldn’t make it out, but we can’t confirm that at this time.

At this time, we would prefer that you please stick to the prompts that we can confirm are on the chalkboard for this collection. That being said, If you have an idea for something that isn’t on the chalkboard that you would like to write about, by all means, run with it! The only rule is that it has to be something that you can justify as going on a board of possible biggest regrets.

Eliot, still in his Happy Place must try to figure out which of his memories is his most traumatic. Margo suggests he tries the one he told her back in their trials. This is not a happy one guys, this is based on "dads heart attack" from his chalk board. And chapter one is lighter but it is still heavy in all of the implied things from Eliot's childhood. Though Taylor does help.

With just one day left, @sunshinequentin has just shared the first of their two-chapter short story to our collection! We can't wait to read part two (but we're more than happy to, because your health and stress levels are the most important thing you absolute badass), but for now we're so happy to have part one!
