Micro comic Summer is back!
Here's my tiny tale from last year, of some kiddos finding a hurt baby dragon, and taking care of it until the dragons return next spring.

#Dragon Age#Solas#was thinking how they probably will have a hard time living up to my expectations#but then getting mad at that because if I’ve had 10 years to think up cool things so have they!!#and tbh I’m in it for Weekes’ writing period at this point and Trespasser was one of the two video game things#to surpass my expectations even after a long speculative wait (the other being Emet-Selch’s writing in Endwalker)#so Weekes has done it before but man 10 years is a long time to think up cool twists#DA4 speculation

#noivern#one of my all-dragon team's staples! thus i have a soft spot for this pokémon. not really for any other reason than that#just a cool badass design. big bat dragon. objectively badass#though i think it should be a dragon/dark type instead of dragon/flying. hydreigon typing#also hi it's me from the future. a few hours before this posts. i just want to complain a little bit#about how fucking difficult this is getting now that i'm getting into alolan forms in the queue#i don't. fucking. know how to use blender. this is kicking my ass. i spent like two hours this morning just trying to get those alolan form#working. and i didn't even successfully do that for two of them#so if you like alolan forms i am Really sorry but they are not gonna be up to par for the production value i have set for myself on this#blog. i've fuckin doomed myself by getting this much of a following and i know i can't get away with the same shit i used to#be able to so like. just fuckin bear with me please it's turning into a whole wreck here in the future in gen 7

i know people dont like playing warrior in da. but grappling hook has to be one of the sexiest and coolest moves ever on a per-specialization ability tree.
#just yeeting a chain and going whoop there goes the enemy and yanking tthem towards you#its so hot#maybe its bc i discovered it thanks to blackwall and tib but it really is#grapecase plays dai#dai#fade walk is the second sexiest and the wall of ice#is the third#charging bull is the second coolest#with wall of ice / immolation being the third#chain lightning isnt as great as it was in da2#dang that ability SLAPPED like WOW#just always had merrill around using that shit#honestly find the warrior ability tree in da3 pretty interesting??#like it is both straightforward AND the abilities are cool#dragon age#mage comes next -- though not as cool as some of the da2 ones [and dao had its own categories dont even count it]#wtf is rogue#it is so boring#mayabe i'll change my mind when im playing it#i was never wild about varric's particular one but it was better / more interesting in da2#now i havent done the specializations so we will see how i feel. once i finish my two warriors and mage [and eventually a rogue]#i mean they do seem pretty cool. and templar is so over done -- but SO FAR??#warrior >>>#especially two handed but sword and shield is nice too

honestly i’m still so incredibly pissed off that they made Sunfyre larger than Syrax in hotd.
like, you’re telling me Syrax, who’s thirty-three years old or possibly older (around the same age as Rhaenyra, her cradle-mate) and was large enough to ride when Rhaenyra was seven, is somehow smaller than Sunfyre, who’s twenty-five at the most and grew up in the dragon pit while Syrax has been on Dragonstone with Rhaenyra since she was sixteen??
i don’t want to hear about sexual dimorphism since it’s directly stated in the book that they couldn’t even tell if dragons had genders or not, and they only classified the dragons who had laid eggs as female.

I've got too many games I want to play and not enough free time 😭 I still need to finish my BG3 playthrough but since Endless Ocean: Luminous came out I've been playing a lot of that instead. Also just got back into Wizard101 last night. Started playing House Flipper again last weekend. Still need to finish BOTW so I can start a TOTK playthrough and finish Pokemon Shield so I can start on Pokemon Violet. I've been fighting off the urge to start up a new Skyrim playthrough for weeks. My brother just told me that Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is getting ported to the Switch. And now I'm suddenly feeling inspired to replay DAI... And throughout all of this I'm also playing the hell out of DragonVale on my phone. Someone just pay me to play video games all day please
#and before anyone suggests it: no i cant try to get into streaming#the way i play video games is extremely frustrating for other people to watch ahdjsksl#no one is going to give me money for producing a video where i spend two hours checking every barrel in the map while juggling my inventory#and then immediately give up on a puzzle and just sit in silence for 30 minutes while i look up a walkthrough instead#i need a situation that pays me $200 a day just to be autistic at the screen alone in the comfort of my own home#rambling#a few years ago i made it a mission to play all of the dragon age games and dlcs in order and i did not complete it#i got all the way to inquisition before i quit#i had already played it on ps3 but i wanted to replay on my new gaming laptop and unfortunately my computer decided it was too complicated#and also i just wanted to play as an elf again and i was resisting that urge bc i played as an elf the first time and wanted something new#so i didnt connect to my character as much#BUT ive learned a lot about optimizing my games from getting bg3 to run on my computer#so i think i could get it to handle dai now. especially if i upgrade to ssd like ive been wanting#and i just saw a dai post on my dash that made me daydream about possible characters and i was struck with inspiration#when i first played through on ps3 i didnt know anything about da lore. it was my first dragon age game#i was just doing whatever i thought seemed coolest#so i basically modeled my inquisitor after my dnd oc and then just picked a vallaslin i thought was pretty#and then when it came time to pick a specialization i was just like 'i mean my hand has rift magic right? seems obvious enough'#but now i know the LORE. and the dalish really interest me. and i want to make an inquisitor thats their own character#i didnt want to replay another elf mage bc i thought it would be too similar#but at the same time i wanted to re-experience dai (and experience trespasser for the first time) now that i knew more about the dalish#(with mods that fix the annoying bits where your character seems to not know about their own religion of course lol...)#i was thinking about that and i just got hit with some inspiration#instead of 'my dnd character but with a cool tattoo and rift magic and they kinda roll with the inquisitor stuff bc idk whats going on'#what if i made a more intentional character with a much different personality and their own backstory#theyre still the first of their clan but i know what that means now so theyre not really into the herald of andraste stuff#theyre a devotee of falon'din with his vallaslin and fittingly choose necromancy specialization (tho theyre annoyed by all the maker talk)#they can look cool and goth and maybe they even make some different choices about the well of sorrows 👀#i could keep rambling but im running out of tags gah#anyways ive got lots of ideas now and i think the playthrough would be unique enough to be worth it

#dragon is gaming#banger opening once again#i just beat sksw and my pc just got fixed and I could continue mhw but I'm taking the time for a short in between-er#i got the manual with the game and?? it comes with minigames too???#like. a ''spot the difference between those two pictures'' and a ''connect the dots''#and some shenanigans of the characters of course#so so fucking cool#and why tf does the dialogue between the two volt boys look like it's from homestuck#i mean. it's just colored names with black text on a light gray background which you could also see on twitch a la chat#but homestuck was my first thought#...i think this says something about me#i didn't even finish this story#i played through hiveswap tho

This is the first linocut I’ve drawn entirely by hand! I usually find a picture I like and transfer the image directly, but my printer completely broke. I’m actually really happy with how this came out!

Why couldn’t I get into something normal, or at least something with consistent canon? Now I am digging into depths of Whoniverse (and we all know the canon doesn’t exist (it is what you want it to be (a bit like Schrödinger’s canon: it both exists and does not, and a bit like a Young Experiment, different when observed, and in 3 places at the same time))); and I am studying Arthurian legends – where every source gives you different facts. And I’m trying to make sense out of it. And create for those universes. It’s fun. And the greatest torture.

I think number one favorite might be my Red Robe; I wish it had pockets, but it's super comfy and I drafted the entire pattern myself
honestly I REALLY love this spiral earring I made for my Caduceus cosplay; I like to just wear it around, the only reason I don't more often is that it's held together with magnets and I'm afraid I'll lose it
third might beeee the cloak of the manta ray? I drafted this pattern completely from scratch AND designed the gold accents myself where you can't see them in the DMG illustration AND the whole outer layer is waterproofed so it sheds water, I'm really proud of it

Another Pokemon hot take for you: Charizard receiving two separate Mega forms in gen 6 was a blatant attempt to sell more merchandise and get people hyped for gen 6 after gen 5 was a relative failure, but the results did make Charizard actually really cool as a competitive Pokemon and both forms look sick
#musings#pokemon#dragons#like if any kanto starter was going to get two megas charizard makes the most sense because it's the most flexible#it has the widest movepool and historically has specialized in both attack and special attack depending on your build#personally i think venusaur and blastoise should have gotten two megas as well#a grass/fairy mega venusaur designed as a special sweeper and a water/steel mega blastoise designed as a defensive wall would both be cool#i think this is better than getting rid of one of the mega charizards because charizard having two megas adds a mind game element to it#predicting which charizard your opponent is using based on the rest of their team is a really cool dynamic#and also there's that one time a player in a championship brought a mega charizard x plush with him to battles#while he was using mega charizard y#he used an actual plushie to fool his opponent into planning around the wrong charizard#that's so funny to me#i also appreciate both mega charizards individually because they're both really cool and strong in different ways#mega charizard x is a fire/dragon type giving it the coolest type combination in the game#which is also a very strong one offense-wise#flare blitz and dragon claw or outrage give it excellent coverage#very few things resist both and stab + tough claws make both attacks hit like a truck#it only really needs those so it can run dragon dance for setting up (which is also cool) and roost for recovery#you can even run a tank version that uses will-o-wisp and invests in defense#mega charizard y meanwhile is more like classic charizard but it has drought#which makes its flamethrower incredibly powerful and lets it use solar beam effectively#and anybody who uses fire types often knows how much they appreciate having grass type moves in the team#solar beam plus drought means that mega charizard y actually has a good matchup against most water types#which is totally weird for it#but yeah point is charizard is actually really neat from a competitive standpoint
