Evan Hawkins wasn’t a normal 9 year old. He was the son of a paramedic and aspired to be one when he was older. His dad promised to support him, but deep down he was scared. Scared for his son to be on the streets of Chicago, dealing with horrific injuries, tragedies and things that posed a risk to him. But he also knew that his son was brave, admirable and a good person. If anyone could be a paramedic, it was Evan.
