Between 2009 and 2015, a Mattel designer named Stacey McBride-Irby was the lead on a line of dolls canonically in the Barbie line, but not including Barbie herself.
instagram
So In Style was a line that featured Grace, Trichelle and Kara as peers of Barbie, as well as their younger sisters Courtney, Janessa and Kianna.
Grace was the centre of the line, but was a new creation for it - though she has subsequently appeared in other Barbie projects, such as Life in the Dreamhouse and Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale.
Courtney was also a new creation for the So In Style line, though she does share a name with Skipper's friend Courtney, a briefly recurring character in the doll line from the 90s.

Though both were cheerleaders.
The purpose - or at least, one of the stated purposes - of the So In Style line was to provide more representation for Black girls who wanted to see themselves in the world of Barbie. McBride-Irby described this as wanting to use this opportunity to create "an authentic representation of my community and culture".
As a result, one of the design features was that the face sculpts were not previously used Barbie sculpts, but sculpts designed to represent facial features more common among Black women.
Of course, this was not universally well-received. For example, blogger Tami Winfrey Harris wrote in 2009, "Let’s face it, these dolls don’t represent any sort of break-through in representation of black faces. The skin tones and facial features fall within a narrow range that is acceptable within Eurocentric beauty standards."
I've seen a few people talking about how "some people" found the move too "politically correct", but few sources directly from people doing this. Which is good, because I don't want to platform the kind of people who would say that, and I have no trouble believing that those people existed - I just can't find any direct quotes.
On another note, Stacey McBride-Irby was the creator behind a number of other Barbies as well, including the AKA Barbie.

how is tami seen in hell?
A cheerful, powerful menance. She’s more involved in hell than Lucifer but less than Lilith is. She does love sinners though. Humans are still her favorite creations. One of her main skills is being able to love difficult people. The other is sheer bloody optimism and bullheadedness.
Most of the time she’s running around in hell going on adventures. Think about her as the doctor in a doctor who episode basically.
(Also I can’t decide if her and Lucifer and Lilith get married because like. Is that technically incest??? But also there’s the Adam and Eve thing which was also incest because their kids married each other??? So maybe it’s different for heavenly beings??? because otherwise — ew.)

Best kindergarten AU? (You cannot pick KGRR)
What I'm going to write out next is going to be sooooo cheesy buut I mean who's gonna stop me? ^_^
I don't think there are any "best" aus created for kindergarten, or any fandom at that <3
In my books it's simply not possible to compare any au by what is the "best", as it is a subjective matter and is something that can't be comparable if it's not compared in every way and in a unbiased point of view, which means not taking the creator of the au you know personally into your thoughts of on their creations.
There are many factors that goes into creating aus, not just one. The overriding factors changes for every au, whether it's writing, drawing, portraying the characters, the choice of characters and many more. Some of aus don't even have all of these factors, so it's just *not* possible to compare them with the others. If I were to compare them, it just wouldn't be fair as all of them are not held in the same standard.
All aus (or honestly, this could go for anything that is is a creation.) are different from others. They are created from different intents, creators ; from creators who have different types of skills or amount of experience with writing, drawing, creating plots, arranging.
Some aus are for joke purposes, some wants to take a more serious path, some may even do both. Some aus are crossovers, some are inspired by another media, some are completely born from their thoughts, some are "what if" scenarios, some follow the canon, some don't. Some are continuation from the canon divergence, some take a part of canon and change it and so on. It differs, a lot and these aren't the only factors and these are only the intention, not to mention the art style, if it's collaborative, if it's interactive or not, if the choices of the viewer changes the plot of the story, and the list goes on.
It could be because I'm indecisive and just can't pick what's "best" but I truly do just think aus are not truly comparable as what's best or not. You might find some aspects of the aus pleasing and some of it, you might not, you might like an au better than the other and that's alright. It's just doesn't make any aus less "best" than the others.
Anyways the best au is OBVIOUSLY skibidi tami au /jokejokejokejoke
Oh and what is KGRR au?...I never heard of it. ^_^"" but I would love to!
#thank you for the ask!#kindergarten asks#i answered an ask after millions of years be proud of me#this applies for all of the people in the fandom !#except those disgusting shits. er. i dont count them as a part of the fandom sorry not sorry.#kindergarten

SPLATOON OC TOURNEY ROUND 2 BATTLE 6
Talia Yareli by @gingergari vs Dutch by @seffien vs Tami (inkling name), Ruthless And Valiant Creature From Muni Eru Kaiyo (salmonid name) by @wyrm-in-a-closet (art by @lynxz-studios)

OC BACKSTORIES/PROPAGANDA!
TALIA
HERE IS HER WHOLE POST BTW!
from the form
Talia (age 24 (~16 in splat1), pronouns he/her) is from Calamari County! Her family consists of her mother, her older sister Moselle (28, a firefighter) that she looks up to a lot, and her younger sister Ren (18). He originally moved to Inkopolis to make a living as a pro battler, which he did for a few years with his roommate turned girlfriend Peri, maining both Dynamos depending on the kits given. Then Grizzco opened for business, and it turned out that they paid pretty well all things considered, and that they were both *really* good at it. (They also thought it was fun for the most part) Since they were consistently hitting the upper ranks of Profreshional, when Grizzco expanded to the Splatlands the pair were invited to relocate as Eggsecutive VPs to help support the branch and to help train up some new recruits. That's how Victoria (Eggs) and Fiorello (Safety) ended up joining them :] Speaking of nicknames, Talia has the worst name memory in the world and has a lot of trouble remembering the names of people and occasionally objects, so he gives them a nickname she remembers a lot better. (Peri is a nickname! But sometimes Talia falls back on pet names until he remembers either her nickname or actual name) He is very worried that he comes across as rude for it (or anything in general) so tries to be as friendly as possible. He was the one that gave Safety the life preserver gear as a gift! Talia is a huge fan of Big Man (finds that he relates to him the most) and did cry when he lost the leader splatfest :( Also cried when he was homesick and tried to get her favorite dish, clam mochi, at a Splatlands restaurant which turned out as you would expect. His favorite splatband is Sashimori. Talia is friends with my Agent 3, but does not know the truth about Grizzco.
DUTCH
was confined to a literal cabin on the woods with and by her dad. she disliked it (and him), so she left for inkopolis via train.
An inkling born to ordinary parents who worked at Gone Fission power plant. However, a salmonid big run happened in the area, and because Grizzco didn't yet exist, it had to be abandoned, and Tami's parents were killed. Tami herself, who was also there, was badly injured and lost her right arm, was found by some salmonids, but because she was a young inkling the salmonids didn't know what she was and so instead of killing her took her home. She then spent almost her entire life growing up with the salmonids, and became a very skilled fighter, but also starting a band with a couple other salmonids. They make music that's like horrible to listen to and will overestimate you. Once she was 14, she joined the war on salmonids on the side of the salmonids. Over time Grizzco expands and poses a larger and larger threat to the salmonids, so Tami decides that she's going to go try and put a stop to it, because she's the only one who could make it to inkling civilation without being killed, although that doesn't change the fact she didn't know the language, culture, or anything. After spending several nights on the streets of splatsville, Tami is found by Tide, an octoling who's been living there for some time. Tide takes Tami under their wing, despite them knowing nothing about each other. Over the next few months Tide teachers Tami inkling language, has Tami participate in battles (where she fuckin rocks at it bc she's been literally trained for war), all while Tami searches for more info on Grizzco, but unfortunately nobody knows shit about it. Finally she happens across Cuttlefish and eventually falls into Alterna, where she has no idea what's going on until eventually wow Mr. Grizz is there. She fucking kills him and then just kinda leaves without really joining the squidbeak splatoon she just wanted to kill Mr grizz. Anyways then she and Tide probably go back to salmonid or something I haven't really figure this out. Sorry for the text wall

Exercise in a Broken Build - Penny Varela
Every two months or so, the Keeper's Fellowship discord server holds a contest wherein the participants create mysteries, monsters, or other things according to a theme. There's always a secondary challenge along with the main contest. The prizes are little more than bragging rights, the ability to share cool creations with other people, and a custom role and name color for the server until the next contest is judged.
This time the theme is Monster Mash where we are supposed to make a mystery inspired by a song. However, this post is about the bonus challenge... which I have gotten finished ahead of the mystery (though I'm pretty sure what song I'm going to use).
The bonus challenge is to create a "broken" build.
Now this requires a bit of context. In Powered by the Apocalypse in general, and definitely Monster of the Week in specific, it is very easy to create what a lot of other games would call a "broken" character. However, this is a narrative game, not a tactical one and thus such characters very rarely ruin the fun. Not the least because often people just don't build such characters because it is more fun to have diverse characters associated with the direction of the story. That said, sometimes the narrative does go along with a character who is supremely specialized in one thing.
The most common broken builds in Monster of the Week are the unkillable characters, the characters who never roll with a low stat, the characters who can easily learn all sorts of information, and the exceptional mages.
For this build, however, I've focused on support. I have built a team, but the main character I focused on a hyper-focused build for is Penny Varela, the others I mostly followed an idea of a narrative and may have even avoided some options I would usually have taken otherwise.
The series is called Ravens in the Night as one of their members is named Karasu Tami and once had the stage name Tammy Raven. Below we will have links to them at:
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 1 characters are:
Penny Varela, the Mundane
Camelia Mircea, the Monstrous (vampire)
Karasu Tami / Tammy Raven, the Celebrity
Season 2 characters are:
Chronicon Azurei ad Vincula (Penny), the Forged
Camelia Mircea, the Monstrous (dhampir)
Karasu Tami, the Wronged
Melony Harker, the Expert
Season 3 characters are:
Chronicon Azurei ad Vincula (Penny), the Forged
Camelia Mircea, the Hard Case
Karasu Tami, the Gumshoe
Melony Harker, the Expert
Season 4 characters are:
Chronicon Azurei ad Vincula (Penny), the Forged
Camelia Karasu-Varela, the Hard Case
Karasu-Varela Tami, the Gumshoe
Melony Harker, the Expert
Now, let's talk about how Penny is "broken"
Season 1 (3 Advances)
At Season 1 the following is true
She has +2 Cool, meaning her Help Out is +2
Due to The Power of Heart, she instantly gets a 10+ result when helping out to fight a monster.
Due to Helping Hand, she grants a +2 forward on a successful Help Out instead of +1 forward.
Due to Collaborative Effort a successful Help Out allows her to give another +1 forward. This is either added to the same targets second roll following the next, or is granted to a second person. The second +1 forward is unaffected by Helping Hand.
She is also able to Protect Someone with her Charm +2 instead of her Tough +0.
She has Warding but her Weird is -1.
This is the heart of her build and everything after this is gravy and narrative. (though, honestly, narrative is tastier than optimization, so)
Season 2 (8 Advances)
At season 2 the above is true, and then the following is as well.
Her Weird is now +1, so Warding is more reliable.
Due to Advanced Help Out if she gets a 12+ the person she's helping is counted as getting a 12 as well.
Due to Tactical Advice she and her partner (Tami) get +1 to Help Each Other and she can give her Read a Bad Situation bonuses to Tami as well.
While she is in weapon form (a blue book bound in chains) she provides her wielder +1 armour.
Season 3 (14 Advances)
In addition to the things that are true in season 1 and 2, save where the following changes them:
She now has +2 Weird so her weapon form does more damage and her Warding is more reliable.
Her weapon form now has Life-Drain which she can channel into her wielder instead of herself.
Due to Glamour she can declare any one roll is a 10. At a cost of her magical troubles appearing now or soon.
Due to Tactical Genius she can now roll Read a Bad Situation with her +2 Cool instead of her +1 Sharp.
She now has two partners (Karasu Tami, Camelia Mircea), she has +1 ongoing to Help Out either of them and they get the same to help out her.
She can now count her current wielder as a partner, so she can temporarily provide the same benefit to Melony if Melony wields her.
She can still give her Read a Bad Situation ongoing bonuses to anybody who currently counts as her partner (Tami, Camelia, current wielder)
Season 4 (19 Advances)
Now, the final season, the above are true save where the following changes them:
She now has +3 Cool. So her roll to Help Out any partners is +4.
She now has Advanced Kick Some Ass and Advanced Protect Someone. She can't really do much with KSA, but she can still Protect Someone with charm in some cases.
Whoever wields her treats both Kick Some Ass and Protect Someone as Advanced.
Due to To My Side she can teleport to the side of any partner, summon any partner to her, or switch places with any partner. Though this doesn't help Melony much since she's only a partner while wielding Penny.

★🎸🎧⋆。 °⋆𖦹✮₊ ⊹
Meet Tarradrika, born in Jakarta, on June 1st, 2004. He's your typical college kid, but with a twist – he's got an artistic flair running through his veins, thanks to his mom and dad, who are both cool artists.
Growing up, Tarradrika and his sis were like two peas in a pod, always getting into some creative mischief. Their house was like an art gallery meets a music festival, with colors splashed everywhere and tunes always jamming in the background.
Now, let's talk tunes. Tarradrika fell head over heels for music, thanks to his parents' killer vinyl collection. From groovy jazz to indie beats, he soaked it all up like a sponge. And guess what? He's not just about listening – he also dabbles in making his own tunes, cooking up some sweet melodies whenever inspiration strikes.
But wait, there's more! Tarradrika's got a soft spot for crocheting. Yup, you read that right. He's a master with a crochet hook, whipping up all sorts of funky designs. It's like therapy for him – chill vibes and crafty creations all in one.
Nowadays, you'll find Tarradrika hustling through college life, but his dorm room is his creative sanctuary. Instruments scattered around, sketchbooks filled with doodles, and yarn piled up for his next crochet project – it's a cozy chaos that keeps him sane.
And let's not forget about his sidekick, Tami the cat. She's his partner in crime, always curling up next to him while he strums his guitar or works on his latest crochet masterpiece. Tami's got attitude, but she's got a heart of gold.
So, that's Tarradrika for you – a laid-back college dude with a passion for all things creative, from music to crocheting, with his furry friend by his side every step of the way.

E pluribus unum included in the Great Seal of the United States, being one of the nation's mottos at the time of the seal's creation
E pluribus unum (/iː ˈplɜːrɪbəs ˈuːnəm/ ee PLUR-ib-əs OO-nəm, Classical Latin: [eː ˈpluːrɪbʊs ˈuːnʊ̃], Latin pronunciation: [e ˈpluribus ˈunum]) – Latin for "Out of many, one"[1][2] (also translated as "One out of many"[3] or "One from many"[4]) – is a traditional motto of the United States, appearing on the Great Seal along with Annuit cœptis (Latin for "he approves the undertaking [lit. 'things undertaken']") and Novus ordo seclorum (Latin for "New order of the ages") which appear on the reverse of the Great Seal; its inclusion on the seal was suggested by Pierre Eugene du Simitiere and approved in an act of the Congress of the Confederation in 1782.[2] The first word of E pluribus unum is actually an abbreviation of the Latin preposition ex, meaning "out of." While its status as national motto was for many years unofficial, E pluribus unum was still considered the de facto motto of the United States from its early history.[5] Eventually, the U.S. Congress passed an act in 1956 (H. J. Resolution 396), adopting "In God We Trust" as the official motto.[6]
That the phrase "E pluribus unum" has thirteen letters makes its use symbolic of the original Thirteen Colonies which rebelled against the rule of the Kingdom of Great Britain and became the first thirteen states, represented today as the thirteen stripes on the American flag.
Meaning of the motto[edit]
Original 1776 design for the Great Seal by Pierre Eugene du Simitiere. The shields with 13 initials of the colonies surrounding symbols for the six origin nations England (rose), Scotland (thistle), Ireland (harp), Holland (the Netherlands) (lion), France (fleur-de-lis), and Germany (eagle) linked together with motto.[7]
The meaning of the phrase originated from the concept that out of the union of the original Thirteen Colonies emerged a new single nation.[8] It is emblazoned across the scroll and clenched in the eagle's beak on the Great Seal of the United States.[8][9]
Origins[edit]
The 13-letter motto was suggested in 1776 by Pierre Eugene du Simitiere to the committee responsible for developing the seal. At the time of the American Revolution, the phrase appeared regularly on the title page of the London-based Gentleman's Magazine, founded in 1731,[10][11] which collected articles from many sources into one periodical. This usage in turn can be traced back to the London-based Huguenot Peter Anthony Motteux, who had employed the adage for his The Gentleman's Journal, or the Monthly Miscellany (1692–1694). The phrase is similar to a Latin translation of a variation of Heraclitus's tenth fragment, "The one is made up of all things, and all things issue from the one" (ἐκ πάντων ἓν καὶ ἐξ ἑνὸς πάντα). A variant of the phrase was used in "Moretum", a poem belonging to the Appendix Virgiliana, describing (on the surface at least) the making of moretum, a kind of herb and cheese spread related to modern pesto. In the poem text, color est e pluribus unus describes the blending of colors into one. St Augustine used a variant of the phrase, ex pluribus unum facere (make one out of many), in his Confessions.[12] But it seems more likely that the phrase refers to Cicero's paraphrase of Pythagoras in his De Officiis, as part of his discussion of basic family and social bonds as the origin of societies and states: "When each person loves the other as much as himself, it makes one out of many (unum fiat ex pluribus), as Pythagoras wishes things to be in friendship."[13]
While Annuit cœptis ("He favors our undertakings") and Novus ordo seclorum ("New order of the ages") appear on the reverse side of the Great Seal, E Pluribus Unum appears on the obverse side of the seal (designed by Charles Thomson), the image of which is used as the national emblem of the United States, and appears on official documents such as passports. It also appears on the seal of the President and in the seals of the Vice President of the United States, of the United States Congress, of the United States House of Representatives, of the United States Senate and on the seal of the United States Supreme Court.
Usage on coins[edit]
Draped Bust half dollar (reverse), 1807
Dime E pluribus unum engraving.Obverse: Portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt, year and US national motto (In God We Trust)Reverse: E pluribus unum, olive branch, torch and oak branch, face-value and country
The first coins with E pluribus unum were dated 1786 and struck under the authorization of New Jersey by Thomas Goadsby and Albion Cox in Rahway, New Jersey.[14] The motto had no New Jersey linkage but was likely an available die that had been created by Walter Mould the previous year for a failed federal coinage proposal.[15] Walter Mould was also authorized by New Jersey to strike state coppers with this motto and did so beginning in early 1787 in Morristown, New Jersey. Lt. Col. Seth Read of Uxbridge, Massachusetts was said to have been instrumental in having E pluribus unum placed on U.S. coins.[16] Seth Read and his brother Joseph Read had been authorized by the Massachusetts General Court to mint coppers in 1786. In March 1786, Seth Read petitioned the Massachusetts General Court, both the House and the Senate, for a franchise to mint coins, both copper and silver, and "it was concurred".[17][18] E pluribus unum, written in capital letters, is included on most U.S. currency, with some exceptions to the letter spacing (such as the reverse of the dime). It is also embossed on the edge of the dollar coin. (See United States coinage and paper bills in circulation).
According to the U.S. Treasury, the motto E pluribus unum was first used on U.S. coinage in 1795, when the reverse of the half-eagle ($5 gold) coin presented the main features of the Great Seal of the United States. E pluribus unum is inscribed on the Great Seal's scroll. The motto was added to certain silver coins in 1798, and soon appeared on all of the coins made out of precious metals (gold and silver). In 1834, it was dropped from most of the gold coins to mark the change in the standard fineness of the coins. In 1837, it was dropped from the silver coins, marking the era of the Revised Mint Code. The Coinage Act of 1873 made the inscription a requirement of law upon the coins of the United States. E pluribus unum appears on all U.S. coins currently being manufactured, including the Presidential dollars that started being produced in 2007, where it is inscribed on the edge along with "In God We Trust" and the year and mint mark. After the revolution, Rahway, New Jersey became the home of the first national mint to create a coin bearing the inscription E pluribus unum.
In a quality control error in early 2007 the Philadelphia Mint issued some one-dollar coins without E pluribus unum on the rim; these coins have since become collectibles.
The 2009 and 2010 pennies feature a new design on the back, which displays the phrase E pluribus unum in larger letters than in previous years.[1]
Other usages[edit]
U.S. Government[edit]
Besides the United States Great Seal's obverse and most American coins, the motto appears over the tribune in the United States Senate chamber, on the flags and seals of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the President, the Supreme Court and the Army, and on the state flags of Michigan, New York, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Other countries' governments[edit]
It appears on the logo of the Shire of Boulia, Queensland, Australia.
The motto appears on the coat of arms of the city of Mongaguá in Brazil.
A variant of the motto, unum e pluribus is used by the Borough of Wokingham in Berkshire, England.[19]
This motto has also been used by the Scoutspataljon, a professional infantry battalion of the Estonian Defence Forces, since 1918.
Sports[edit]
The motto appears on the logo of the United States Golf Association.
The motto is used on the emblem of the Portuguese sports club Sport Lisboa e Benfica since 1904 (initially by one of its predecessors, Sport Lisboa). Similarly to the United States coat of arms, the emblem has a shield and an eagle on top of it serving as a crest and holding a scroll with the motto (although the scroll is beneath the eagle).[20][21]
Arts and media[edit]
This motto has also been used in the Eden novel of Stanislaw Lem (cited by Doctor).
E Pluribus Unum is a march by the composer Fred Jewell, written in 1917 during World War I.
The Wizard of Oz's title character uses the motto to describe his (and Dorothy's) homeland of Kansas: the land of e pluribus unum.
Bugs Bunny misinterprets the motto at the end of Roman Legion Hare: "E Pluribus Uranium".
"E unibus pluram" is the title of a 1996 essay by David Foster Wallace which appears in the collection A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again.
In 2001, following the September 11 attacks, the Ad Council and Texas ad agency GSD&M launched a public service announcement in which ethnically diverse people say "I am an American"; near the end of the PSA, a black screen shows and the phrase "E pluribus unum" is seen with the English translation underneath.[22]
