Animalove - An animaive term for when love, of any/all kinds, affects one’s soul.

How [not] to write a job posting

1 Position title. Keep it simple and free of gimmicks and internal language. If you call your warehouse associates Warehouse Rockstars, just put associate in the title so people don't cringe. If you call your cashiers Team Members with Money Handling Responsibilities, nobody's going to know you're hiring cashiers. Use terms everybody else uses so applicants will know what job they're applying for.

2 Company description. Above all, keep this free of buzzwords. I know it's hard, but you can do it. Avoid phrases like "turn-key," "synergy," and "solutions." No one knows what they mean anyway. Give a brief sentence or two about what you do. If there's something about you that makes you less evil, like using ethically sourced materials, include that. If you're involved in a type of work not everyone in your industry does, include that. For example, I work in EMS, and not everybody does critical care. A company that does do crit care transports should put that in its description, in case applicants are interested in that side of things. And I'm sorry, nobody at entry-level really cares about your mission, so this is not the time to wax poetic. Save that for press conferences and fundraisers.

3 Job duties. The main course. You want to keep this practical and focused on what the person is actually going to be doing in the job. "Provides high-quality customer service with a smile!" = not helpful to an applicant because that's all public facing jobs. "Assists customers with application paperwork, ensuring all forms are filled out in compliance with state regulations" = helpful, because it tells applicants what they're actually going to be doing, and that it's going to involve both the public and red tape, things some people are great with and some people hate.

4 Compensation. First off, do not play games. Put the damn pay in the damn job ad. If it's a range, put the range. For a full-time position, you should be offering, at minimum, health insurance including dental and vision, and some kind of PTO package. By and large, workers don't care about little perks like snacks in the break room and getting to play video games on the clock. And it goes without saying that everybody should be getting some kind of sick leave. Put that in the ad too.

5 Instructions to apply. If possible, people should be able to apply through Indeed. If your company has a proprietary hiring system and that's not possible, link to it and do what you can to have that system be as non-user-unfriendly as possible. I. e. , if you are requiring a resume, it is pointless to also require an application where you fill out all your past jobs and education. That's what a resume is. I get, however, that the person writing the job ad probably doesn't design the application portal. However, the more effort it takes just to submit your application, the less likely people are to bother.

So there you have it. Straight from the applicant's mouth, that's what we're looking for on our endless Indeed scavenger hunts. If you're having trouble getting applications, rewrite your posting accordingly and then show it to a child between the ages of seven and ten. If the child cannot figure out what the job is for or what the company does, then rewrite the job posting again with fewer buzzwords. Once it is comprehensible to a school-age child, it's ready for the job boards.

Soon you will see that yes, people still do want to work. They just don't want to work for corporate stooges who only talk in buzzwords and don't know how to hire or treat their employees fairly.

Alnyisolestorian

Alnyisolestorian - A gender that is like a story of changing & altering. Of taking what once was and making something new out of it. Of community but also isolation; of never having been more alone than you are right now. Of being brought to the brink over and over and over again, of endlessly falling and endlessly failing. Of not knowing what is right anymore, of losing your sense of self, your sense of individuality. Of bending and twisting and being eaten up inside until you finally break. Of terrible circumstances and feeling like the world itself hates you, that this story that was written has it in for you in particular. Of wishing you could be anyone else, another version of yourself who got to live a happier life; of having to face the fact that you’re not. Of the fact that despite everything you’re still you, pain and all. Of learning to deal with the cracks in your facade, the cracks right down to your soul. A story that itself is about stories and storytelling, about endless possibilities and facing the reality of the one you’re in.

Alderhopeless / Hopelessdernic - An aldernic term for when one has, or wishes to have, a body that is the embodiment of hopelessness

Endexloupchoric

Endexloupchoric - A kenochord related to the void, shadows and darkness. It feels uncertain and tired; like endlessly looping fights and the resulting exhaustion. It has themes of doing whatever needs to be done, no matter the cost; as well as dealing with self hatred and how to move on from it. It deals with the dragging on of time, how it never seems to end or move yet also has ended long ago.

Ignideeric

Ignideeric - An umbrella term that encompasses both ignidesins & maliglows / a gender that is both desolic & gloeyeer / a gender that falls under both the gloeyeeric & ignidesolin umbrellas / both DESOLIN & GLOEYiN. [2 versions because I couldn't decide which I prefered]

Template + ID template (with help courteous of @/mogai-sunflowers) [ID: A flag with 15 mirrored horizontal stripes, which are in "sets" based on the type of stripe they are. The first set is 2 stripes which are interlocking spikes, with a COLOUR outline between them. The next set is 2 medium stripes with a central wavy stripe over the centre. The final set is 3 straight stripes of varying thicknesses going thin, thick, thin. From outside to inside the colours are COLOURS. /end ID]

Serhapiuskyn - A gender under the lumenoir & esperkyn umbrellas themed around to heroism, fighting for what is right and just, striving to do good, hope for a brighter future. It is related to love, happiness, safety & peace; it is warm, kind & friendly. It related to the colours gold, silver & white. It evokes imagery of spring days, meadows, sunshine & vast open skies.

Rihtauheal - A gender dedicated to teamwork, helping others & fighting against evil. It has themes of being good as a choice / choosing to be good. It may related to creativity & storytelling, the colours blue & gold & white, immortality, making bonds, love of all kinds, accepting and appreciating change, safety & sanctuary.

Trisempars & Triluarepes

Trisempars - A gender system / umbrella for a gender that is simultaneously a single unified gender and also three different sub-genders. It can feel like 1 gender which has parts which can be sorted into three different categories, each making up 1 of the sub-genders. This term can be considered a Schrodigender subterm but doesn’t have to be.

Triluarepes - A gender under the trisempars umbrella in which the component parts are: femininity; xenity, connection to the moon and stars, softness, peace and calm, daintiness and delicacy, summer sunshine, meadows, breezes, the colour blue, lace, pressed flowers, books of poems / poetry, artistry and passion.

Antithewisteric / Antitheglicinoric - A term to describe someone whose gender is the antithesis of being a wister and / or being wisterious, so powerfully that describing oneself as a girl / boy / nonbinary / etc terms is not enough, you are the antithesis of wisteronity & this is intrinsically tied into your gender.

Esendauious - A gender related to danger, darkness & shadows, the colour red, cobbling yourself together, reflections of what could have been, parts of a whole, sharpness, edge, coldness, the taste of blood in your mouth, a struggle for power, doing whatever needs to be done, imbalance.

Blorbo guessing time! Well, now that's it's day number 11+ of the event it is time to play 'Guess that blorbo!'

Since I did the event a little differently than other might have, when sending in guesses you'll need to specify if you're guessing for Blorbos D (2 characters) or Blorbos E (a group of characters).

Each term I made was tagged with 1 of the two for easy categorisation. Guesses made / answered will be tagged with 'blorbosquared guess.'

Blorbo event notice / info Maybe a little late notice considering I am posting my terms today / the event starts today but better late than never? I have technically talked about it a little already but my plans this year is to make about 40 more terms? Exact number tba as I work out what I'm actually doing. I might also be doing a few 'bonus' terms for some of last year's blorbos (A-C) which will be tagged accordingly. I am participating once more in the guessing game aspect of it because I think it is very fun! I will have terms for my Blorbo D; Blorbo E & Blorbo F. Though uh I do need some clarifications first (oh dear haha) Blorbo D is actually a pair of blorbos and as such on most days I will be making a pair of terms for them, just keeping them to a single post because 'pair do not separate' vibes with them haha. Blorbo E is also actually multiple blorbos but I will be making terms for them as a collective / group. Blorbo F is once more an OC so not really here for guessing, just for the fun of it really ^^ I will have a post up when day 11 guessing officially starts but you can feel more than free to send in guesses as terms drop if you want, I don’t mind at all ~!!

Point is, I’ll have a tagging system set up for these so it’s easy to tell which Blorbo each term is based off of; which will be used on this post for ease of access.
