Everyone keeps coming on this post like "oh this is about Star Wars" or "oh this is about The 100" and I have to stand up and say what actually prompted me writing this post was "The Hunger and the Dusk."

Which isn't exactly the "disdain to reverence" pipeline but rather "We're actually pretty respectful towards each other to begin with because we're teaming up in the interest of our respective peoples' mutual survival except there's so much cultural trauma our peoples have inflicted on each other that we're bound to fuck up and oh nooo will we be able to get past that?????"

But mostly it can be summed up as "Dude is down so bad for an orc princess and y'know what good for them."

I love it when the same character honorifics are basically used as a barometer for an evolving relationship over the course of a story.

"...Princess" (Derogatory)

"Princess." (You have disproven several of my previous assumptions but I'm still guarded and critical.)

"Princess," (Mildly impressed but still snarky)

"Princess," (I am coming to terms with how much your office has demanded of you and am finally considering you an equal)

"Princess," (I genuinely respect you, your office, and how much you have grown beyond it since we have met.)

"Princess." (Uh oh I've started catching feelings and am now using your title to remind both you and myself of the distance between us.)

"PRINCESS!" (You are in danger and I am now utterly devoted AND DOWN SO BAD.)

i sometimes make myself believe that I would survive a dystopian movie but I would definitely not, and I'd probably be the cause of half the characters deaths aswell. We'd be hiding and id probably end up sneezing or something equally as stupid. Or, there would be some massive decision to face, and I'd just stand there stressing out over what to do. So in reality I'd be like "girl 4"

Absolute Wonder Woman: By far the best WW number one in years, will likely be a modern classic, a brilliant understanding of why Diana is such a good character, and a brilliant keynote in the Absolute comic line. (pick of week)

Scarlet Witch: Fun little one-off adventure with Daredevil.

Avengers Assemble: FUN! Orlando does fun team-ups. Kinda wish he was allowed this kinda energy during the Krakoa era.

The Hunger and The Dusk: Excellent issue, not much more to say.
