I want to compose songe for hypnodaddy but dear fuckign god, i've gotta figure out the melody and lyric placements and shit. brain is going BRRRRRRRRRRRR and now I must WRITE! THEM! DOWN! The LYRICS! The melody can come later but the LYRICS GFHSDJKHFDKJSHFDKIS I just DEFINITELY need to figure those out, as I've always perceived Baggs as a person who could and WOULD use his wit and charisma to sway people first. After all, though his appearance might give them a slight warning, his words so easily and effortlessly project that he's a man of high intellect and understanding. That he's a curious monster, eager to listen and to learn. To get people to open up, excited to find someone who wants to hear what they have to say. "Everyone wants to talk about something. They merely are nervous that no one wants to hear it~... By showing that I am willing to listen, they open up. They open up their heart, and the things they feel so passionately about. They open their mind, eager to release the thoughts bubbling within. And an open mind, is a receptive mind... And a receptive mind is less wary of inviting thoughts. A receptive mind is comforted by the light airy magic, that flows from my eye. And less prone to resist, to listen, and to obey. ..... so sue me, I'm a bit lazy in my own right. "

April 2023 Important Dates
Tumblr media
AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's April Forecast, hosted by Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, and guest host Robert Weinstein. Mundane recap: Pluto's ingress into Aquarius heralds the integration of AI-generated text and images into larger parts of life, impacting industries, job markets, warfare, and more. The TikTok ban bill is another manifestation of Pluto's power struggle significations. Saturn in Pisces has also hinted at some of the upcoming themes: the recent banking crisis and a shift in public policy re: covid. The Saturn-Uranus cycle has served as an indicator to economic booms & busts, with eclipses especially igniting this--the 1929 stock market crash happened with the Nodes on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, and the FTX crash can be seen as a final crisis from Saturn square Uranus around an eclipse. Chris predicts eclipses will continue to affect finance. In popular culture, Everything Everywhere All At Once won many awards and was released during the Pisces stellium, which thematically fits.
Additionally, many planets change signs and put themselves in aspect to Saturn or Pluto for the first time since the outer planets entered these new signs, setting the tone for the next few years (or decades, in the case of Pluto). We've got a lot of beginnings and motion with the cardinal sign emphasis (we begin the month with an Aries stellium and Mars having just entered Cancer, and end it with an Aries eclipse).
April 3rd - Mercury enters Taurus From here Mercury squares Pluto, sextiles Saturn & Mars, conjoins an eclipse point and approaches Uranus, putting it in a difficult position to do the planting & planning to which the first decan of Taurus is normally conducive. Slow down and be methodical about what we're doing. Between Pluto's underground machinations and Uranus's unpredictability, it's hard for us to make decisions. In the sign of Taurus this will almost certainly have financial implications as well. Mercury will start slowing down around the 10th or 11th, with the retrograde shadow beginning at 5Taurus soon after an eclipse. Funnily enough, he will retrograde over these same degrees later in the year.
April 6th - Full Moon in Libra Here's the chart:
Tumblr media
The Moon is at 16Libra, with the Sun within 4 degrees of conjunction to Jupiter (♈). The Moon is coming off a square with Mars (♋), part of a larger shift towards tension in cardinal signs during the Red Planet's transit. Chiron at 15Aries is very close to the Sun (conjunction) & Moon (opposition). The Moon's ruler Venus has just left a conjunction with Uranus, and in her domicile of Taurus, indicates some fervent and moderately successful attempts at stabilizing matters. We may also find stability through contracts and deals, which are associated with the second decan of Libra. Venus is also approaching Jupiter, whose proximity to the Sun makes him combust (too close to the Sun to be visible) and less able to provide the optimism & reassurance we seek. Alternately, hopeful events may be happening behind the scenes while our optimist planet is invisible for 2-4 weeks.
April 10th - Selected auspicious election
Tumblr media
This occurs around 2:10PM local time, with Leo rising and Ascendant ruler the Sun in the 9th whole sign house, which for a day chart is extremely fortuitous. It takes advantage of the Sun-Jupiter cazimi about to occur, with the former in exaltation making things even more auspicious. The Moon in Sagittarius applies to a trine with domicile lord Jupiter. Venus is in the last degrees of Taurus, so Leo rising charts earlier in the month can take advantage of her presence in earlier degrees. 9th house topics (Jupiter) include education, travel, higher learning and publishing, while 10th house topics with Venus can indicate art & creativity. With the Moon in the 5th house this can also be good for leisure or fun & games.
April 11th - Venus enters Gemini, Sun-Jupiter conjunction (♈) The Jupiter cazimi (exact conjunction to Sun) occurs around 21-22Aries: there is still something to believe in. Not only is this fortuitous as a heightening of the greater benefic's energies, but the Sun is also in exaltation. Think optimism, expansion, and hope (Jupiter) and doing something at a level of excellence (exalted Sun). This is the seed point for new ideas, leadership and following your own path. Unfortunately the next week brings a damper on otherwise great events.
Upon entering Gemini, Venus immediately trines Pluto (♒) and soon after squares Saturn (♓), the last major aspects leading up into the eclipse. Venus trine Pluto in air signs can signal intensifying personal relationships as communication delves deeper, or perhaps enjoying the new technologies that are otherwise scary. However, Pluto is rarely light and Saturn makes things significantly heavier. Venus square Saturn indicates significant boundaries or obstacles in personal relationships, something that may keep the relationship from happening at all. In Austin's words, Saturn either locks you out or locks you in. This is also the time when Mercury starts slowing down to a speed slower than average in preparation for retrograde (figuratively tiptoeing up towards Uranus and deciding to turn around).
April 20th - Lunar eclipse in Aries, Sun enters Taurus This is the first eclipse both of the year and in the Aries-Libra axis, but we're not totally out of the woods yet for fixed signs.
Tumblr media
The eclipse has a very close out-of-sign square to Pluto, and immediately after, the Moon ingresses into Taurus and squares Pluto, as does the Sun soon later. We'll get insight into what the next 20 years of Pluto in Aquarius has in store. Eclipses have indicated dramatic shifts in leadership since the earliest days of astrology, and Austin says in Aries this indicates actual heads of state. This lunar mansion/nakshatra is also associated with medicine, the public figure(s) in question may be in that field. Pluto at 0Aquarius (degree where pandemic lockdown measures intensified at various times) weighs in via a sextile to the moon, and this eclipse is also square the US Sibly chart's Pluto with Mars, eclipse ruler, on the US Sun. Thus Chris and Robert both expect significant financial events during this upcoming eclipse season.
April 21st - Mercury stations retrograde in Taurus This station occurs closely conjunct Uranus, so technological snafus and freak accidents are certainly in order. Mercury in Taurus helps the trains run on time, so we can expect further disruption and chaos on that front. Avoid messing with electricity if you can, and generally we may feel a shock to the collective nervous system. The Sun-Mercury conjunction marking the retrograde's halfway point will occur around May 1st, so we can expect to start moving towards a resolution then. On May 5th we get the answering eclipse to this one, Mercury stationing direct on the 15th, and Jupiter entering Taurus soon after. These events in mid-May will help stabilize things, though Mars will form a T-square with Jupiter and Uranus... Overall we feel eclipses for a couple weeks on either side. Pay attention to the parts of your chart where the eclipses occur: new beginnings and endings are in order as the nodes move!

Okay okay, now I got a moment, I can briefly (briefly being the key word) discuss accessibility in video games.
A lot of people like to bring up adding subtitles, color-blind mode, brightness settings, keybindings (being able to customize your keys and inputs), etc. These are all very fantastic starts for accessibility, and I firmly believe that all games should come with this customization as a default. However, this is also just scratching the very surface of accessibility in gaming!
The reason I’m writing this post is to introduce a few of the other methods of accessibility that can be implemented in games. This is, by no means, a thorough or exhaustive list, this is just to bring to awareness some other ways games can be made more accessible. And yes, some of those methods are making completely optional easier game modes, that are optional to use. The emphasis is on optional. Yes, there are a lot of people “bad at video games” who have disabilities or health conditions that make it difficult for them to play video games, and is a pretty common comment I hear from gamers with various disabilities. (And honestly, it’s a lot easier to say “I’m bad at games” that explaining your disability or the health reason why you may not be able to play a game the way it’s intended or as well as other players).
Anyways, here are just a few accessible alternatives;
- Story modes: This is a “story only” game mode implemented in games. This allows players to enjoy the story of a game without requiring them to play through the game’s challenging portions. This way, they can still experience the game in a game format, but if they’re unable to play it normally due to a disability, they don’t miss out on playing the game itself. (Yes, I’m aware some players will say, “just watch a playthrough”, but some players want to support developers, and. well, playing a game, even if it’s only the story portions, is still more engaging and fun for some players instead of watching a playthrough.)
- Use of images or icons or other visual indicators along with text. Some players may have trouble remembering items visually, or in the case of some people, their reading skills (for any reason) may give them difficulty when it comes to playing a game. Or, reading fine text may be hard for them. In any case, using visual aids in game can be super helpful. An example of this would be in Super Mario Galaxy!
Tumblr media
[ID: A screenshot of a penguin from Super Mario Galaxy standing next to Mario. There is a text bubble above the penguin that reads “So... chunks, huh?”. The text that reads “chunks” is purple, and there is a purple star-like shaped icon beside the word chunks, showing the player what a chunk is. End ID.]
- Adding onto the text, I think while subtitles are a great start, there should also be a way to change the font, colour and size to make it easier to read. (Black background, white text, for example, is easier for some people to read.) Having emphasized words in different colours can help others out, depending on the person.
- Physical demand that video games have is very often overlooked. A lot of people don’t necessarily think about it, but, for example, many games require the usage of both hands to play. This isn’t possible for some players. A lot of games require very careful, precise, exact movements. This level of dexterity isn’t possible for some players. Some games require very fast reflexes, but not everyone can physically perform those sequences of games. This can be remedied by easier game difficulties (that tone down the speed of games, for example) or even allowing the player to skip difficult sections of the game, which is very much optional! (I cannot count the amount of games I have collecting dust simply because I spent days trying to complete a puzzle that relies on memory, and I have very severe memory issues that interfere with that.)
- (Also to add on: some puzzles, such as colour puzzles or sound puzzles, should always be skippable in my opinion. I cannot fathom a reason why one of these would have to be mandatory in a video game, but for people who have hearing impairments or are colourblind or have other related disabilities, this just makes the game unplayable for them. Also, I think we can agree a lot of these types of puzzles are just not the most fun in the first place? But that’s an opinion/discussion for another post.)
- Controllers! There are some options out there, but not as many as you’d think there are. Actually, while there are a lot of general purpose controllers for every day use (such as using a computer in day-to-day use), there aren’t actually a lot of gaming-specific controllers. I’m talking about controllers designed for gamers, for games. If you want to check out a few examples, there’s the XBox Adaptive Controller (which is nice as it allows for the user to attach their own input devices such as their own joysticks, buttons, switches, etc. for customization which is pretty nice), as well as VoiceAttack, a controller that’s controlled by your voice and is completely hands free. There’s also some companies that specialize in designing game controllers specific to a person’s disabilities, which are all pretty great options, and I do recommend checking them out (I don’t know any specific recommendations myself but feel free to add any).
Anyways, these are just a very few, brief accessibility options, and I have definitely not touched on every single kind of accommodation nor condition out there. I just wanted to list a few that people don’t always think of, just to get people to think of accessibility options outside of the usual “subtitles, colors, keybinds”. Which are, again, a great start, but let’s not stop there!
I would also like to note, I am by no means a total expert on the subject, a lot of this is from my own personal research and findings online and going through some research papers, as well working on my own projects relating to accessibility in games and making them more accessible for players. Please feel free to add onto the post or make corrections!

The ‘Does this make sense?’ check: Chapter 3, Part 3, reading experience and community boundaries
Part 3 puts the two together, looking at how the reading experience unfolds with these two textual features and how reading fic maintains the boundaries of a fandom
Part 3: reading experience and community boundaries
Intertextuality contributes to the aggregation of fanon, and including fanon in fic contributes to its enjoyment. The reader is thus situated in within the context of intertextuality (e.g. meta-analysis), generated in the response zone of the community model, which is upheld by the community infrastructure (e.g. tag wranglers). Juli Parrish suggests the collective Brownian motion model to describe fic writing, departing from Henry Jenkin’s oft-cited textual poacher. On a micro level, the textual poacher is a good analogy to describe how a reader or writer selects the elements she enjoys and expands upon them in her own work. On a macro level, the repetition of this selection process moves the fandom in one direction or another: Harry is South Asian, Percy is Afro-Latino, Zuko and Sokka end up together [1]. As a mathematical model, Brownian motion describes how the aggregate random motion of particles shifts an object in a given direction overtime. In fandom, the particles are fanworks (fic, text posts, and meta-analysis); the motion is interpretation; the movement is solidification of fanon. Brownian motion models how the aggregation of commentary, analysis, and interpretation collectively contributes to a framework through which readers or reading groups interpret and create fanfiction. The fic thereby becomes context dependent, accruing meaning through this ongoing process [2].
In established interpretive fan communities, this aggregate motion is underwritten by ‘share[d] central readings and values; this allows [fans] to create particular reading norms and practices as well as core analyses and stories, all of which affect consequent interpretations’ [3]. Brownian motion does not suggest universal agreement within fandom (Goodman already noted the improbability of that). Rather, this motion describes how pockets of fans develop interpretive communities with agreed-upon interpretations, often grafting in identifiers like race or sexuality, or exploring alternate characterizations, such as dark or morally grey characters. As I learned from first-hand experience, generalizing about interpretations is fraught; in a weekly wrap-up post, I referred obliquely to Albus Dumbledore Critical discourse as an example of how an interpretive community has solidified in the Harry Potter fandom. It was immediately challenged by a pro-Albus Dumbledore fan. There are exceptions to all rules.
Goodman argues that a fic’s intertextuality and paratexts create a mutual mythopoeia from which fic writers draw and to which they contribute. She writes ‘variant retellings of common legends accumulate to build a shared repertoire from which classical authors borrowed characters, events, and plots, each giving it his own twist, often while referring to each other’ [4]. This referential mythopoeia, which is another term for intertextuality, is part of the pleasure of fandom for reader, and the collective rewriting of a source text often skews readers’ perception such that they can no longer read the source text as the original author dictated. Melissa Gray notes that this shirking of original intentions is exactly why
‘fandom is so rewarding: the vast sharing of points of view and creativity that makes it our universe, belonging to the fans as well as the creators of the canon, with our own characters and settings and situations. I can no longer watch episodes the way TPTB [The Powers That Be] likely intended. I bring not only my unique experiences to my viewing, but also the wealth of fanon background material that I've absorbed over the years’ [5, emphasis mine].
This mythopoeia, a depot of references that are fun for a reader to unravel, fits cleanly into Goodman’s expansion of the principle of minimal departure, which suggests that ‘because a finite text is always necessarily incomplete, it is a standard part of any normative reading practice to imaginatively supply necessary information’ [6]. Goodman argues that this principle operates in production of fic, which often adds, substitutes, or intervenes in missing information with imaginative works. For example, gedsparrowhawk’s ‘Hogwarts, to welcome you home’ responds to the unanswered question of what happens after the war with an alternative universe where Harry. This interpretation returns the readers to Hogwarts, reorienting reader perception of the epilogue such that it is more difficult to imagine the original ending.
Available data agrees that intertextuality is among the most fun and favored part of fic, suggesting that the referential-ness of a fic is what makes it pleasurable to read and possibly to write: citing in-jokes, niche knowledge, and crossovers include the reader in an unraveling process as they read. Fansplaining, a podcast about fandom, ran a survey on fic tropes that received 7,610 responses and found that the most favored tropes ‘are absolutely intertextual, requiring the reader to understand the original story before they can fully appreciate the fanfic’ [7]. I return to the resonance of dirge’s concluding line in ‘the last son’, which nods to the reader’s knowledge of an alternate universe where events work out differently. Or, to return to an example from Chapter 2, the reveal in ‘The Changeling’ of a subtly developed secondary character, Tori, as the future wife of Draco Malfoy was a payoff that spoke to Annerb’s facility with the source text. As Busse points out, fic ‘also engages with a host of other texts—be they clearly stated requests, shared interpretive characterizations, or even particular instantiations of the universes that the fan writer chooses to expand upon’, as dirge executes with reader-submitted prompts or ideasofmarch accomplishes by expanding on the universe posed by couldnt’s post [8]. Intertextuality with the source text is like an inside joke; and intertextuality with conventions of fic itself (e.g. waspabi’s use of various tropes) that play with readers’ knowledge of how fic works situate reading in the broader genre.
The consequence of this intertextuality, as Melissa Gray wrote, is an interpretive web that makes it difficult to sort out the fannish interpretation from the nonfan interpretation, original characters in fic from canon characters [9]. Paratexts indicating the central characters of a fic can lead to very different stories contained within the same fictional world. Fanon, which results from the repetition and affirmation of these interpretations, helps maintain the boundaries of the fictional universe; paratexts are one expression of how a fic fits into that universe.
Harry Potter from Harry Potter, Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Zuko and Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Looking Too Deeply Into Vampire Knight Covers
In this series, I pretend that I’m back in college having to over-analyse the use of the colour blue, except in image form rather than text! It’ll be fun to flex the old grey matter and see what I can shake loose from the recesses of my own mind! This is all in fun, so please don’t take it too seriously.
As always, we should start at the beginning:
Tumblr media
The first thing that jumps out to me is how Zero and Yuuki are separated from Kaname by a white veil. This is foreshadowing the series conflict of Zero and Yuuki attempting to stop Kaname from following out his plan after abandoning her. Further to this, Kaname is behind the veil in the darkness. This is the choice he makes by leaving Yuuki behind and not allowing her to save him, as he wanted. This choice can be seen in a positive light, however, as he does this so that he will stop making Yuuki miserable. He doesn’t want her to become disillusioned with life like him.
Kaname being behind the veil could be a nod to the fact that he is hiding core aspects of his personality from Yuuki, and hiding dark secrets from Zero. In contrast, Zero and Yuuki being in front of the veil could show that the two are more honest about their personalities. Of course, they aren’t entirely if you think about it, but neither of them have murderous secrets to hide.
I looked briefly very briefly into the symbolism behind cloth being torn, if there was any. What I did find in this sojourn was in relation to death and mourning. On Kaname’s side, this could relate to his previous “death” and his future “death.” For Zero, this could relate to his mourning of his family and the man he could have been if his world hadn’t been violently turned upside down and he transformed into a vampire. For Yuuki, it could relate to her mourning Kaname in the future, and the loss of her memories that we come to see are important to her.
Returning to the colour symbolism, the white that Zero and Yuuki are standing in front of could represent their honest intentions in their actions. The actions they take hold no deeper meaning, and they are not manipulative of others. Both want to help others, though they show this want in different ways. Kaname being behind the white and in front of the black could represent, in contrast, the sinister intentions that he hides from Zero and Yuuki throughout the first arc. His schemes will place others in unnecessary danger; something that neither Zero or Yuuki would approve of.
Kaname is surrounded by red roses, which often symbolise romantic love. This is a representation of Kaname’s desire to love and be loved, and, coupled with the torn veil, could symbolise his desire to be brought into the light by Yuuki’s love. The website teleflora states that a bouquet of roses represents an innocent love, which could be related to his more innocent intentions of simply stepping back and protecting Yuuki from afar. I may have missed some, but I could count ten roses on the cover amongst the various tears. From the same source, I learned that ten roses stand for someone’s love being “perfection”, again returning to the idea of Kaname seeking salvation from Yuuki’s love.
Zero and Yuuki standing together on one side of the veil could also highlight their unbreakable bond, and puts emphasis on Yuuki’s statement that she will be on Zero’s side even if they are enemies. Furthermore, Yuuki is the one to hold Bloody Rose on this cover, the chain wrapping itself around her arm, highlighting this even more strongly. She is also holding it up and to the right, just placing the angle of the bullet’s trajectory away from Zero’s head. This could symbolise her refusal to kill Zero in direct correlation to her wish to save him. Her holding the gun instead of Zero could also relate to her actively stopping Zero from ending his own life.
Furthermore, the Bloody Rose is a hunters weapon which can be linked to Yuuki’s decision to become the ‘angel of death’ to pureblood vampires later on in the series.
Zero is covered in blood, which relates to his bloody past and foreshadows his bloody future. It also links to his true nature as a vampire. He is also lightly clutching his throat, a gesture associated with vampires who are trying to control their thirst. Blood is symbolic of someone’s life force, so this could symbolise the 'death’ of Zero’s identity as a human; him being born anew into the bloody world of vampirism.
Yuuki is also lightly covered in blood, the majority of it on her neck where she will be bitten by Zero. This relates to her offering her own blood as a means to keep Zero alive. There is also a small amount of blood on the hand she is using to hold Bloody Rose, which indicates the secret that her blood letting creates between her and Zero.
A final point I want to make is that Zero and Yuuki are facing towards us, which again relates to their honesty and openness, at least to us as readers. Kaname appears to be turning away, relating to his hidden intentions and his hiding his deeper plans from us as readers alongside Zero and Yuuki.
All in all, this cover has a lot to say about the character’s relations to each other and about roles they will take in the story. If you guys have anything you want to add, or if you have alternate interpretations, I’m always willing to hear it!
I hope you enjoyed this read and will stick around for the next installment!

Michigan basketball shatters Oakland's zone defense thanks to Hunter Dickinson
Terrance Williams has identified Hunter Dickinson for nearly a decade now.
The 2, Williams says, have “been taking part in in shut video games since elementary faculty, center faculty and highschool.”
Neither participant anticipated discovering themselves in a decent sport Sunday evening, with Michigan basketball getting into the day favored by greater than 30 factors towards Oakland.
But the Wolverines trailed by 4 when Dickinson and Williams, former AAU teammates, checked into the sport with 11:23 left within the second half.
“I’m not gonna lie, it was positively scary,” Williams stated of the sport’s closeness.
Issues may’ve been even scarier if not for Dickinson.
The true freshman scored 19 factors — all within the second half and additional time — and tallied 4 assists in Michigan’s 81-71 win over Oakland.
Michigan middle Hunter Dickinson (1) makes a layup towards Oakland ahead Trey Townsend (13) throughout the additional time on the Crisler Middle in Ann Arbor, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.
THE VETERANS: Transfers present their price in sparking season-opening win
BOLD PREDICTIONS: Meet the 2020-21 roster
SEASON PREVIEW: Finest- and worst-case situations
With out Dickinson, the story of Sunday’s sport would possibly’ve been about how the Wolverines suffered their largest upset since a 2014 loss to NJIT. As an alternative, the dialogue now revolves round what Michigan may need in its precocious 7-foot-1, 255-pound middle.
“I believe he’s constructed for it,” Williams stated. “He’s been taking part in in these massive video games.”
Towards Oakland’s distinctive 1-1-Three zone protection, Michigan turned the ball over 15 instances within the first half. Then Dickinson took over.
After he entered the sport within the second half, Dickinson accounted for 11 factors in a 2:54 span. He scored 9 factors on a dunk, a pair of free throws, an “and-1” put-back and a layup, and likewise assised Williams for one more basket.
“I believe within the second half, my teammates simply actually have been capable of finding me and put me in an important place to attain,” Dickinson stated. “Terrance began off with some good entry passes that began to get me going. Then my teammates simply saved in search of me from there out, and I simply saved making an attempt to ship for them.”
Story continues
Dickinson performed an element in Michigan’s ultimate eight factors in regulation, with two discipline objectives and two assists. And his ultimate run got here within the additional interval, as he scored six consecutive factors to present the Wolverines some much-needed respiration room.
“That second half, he needed that ball and we made an emphasis to get the ball inside to Hunter,” Livers stated. “They gotta foul it doesn’t matter what. And he’s an excellent free-throw shooter.”
Tumblr media
Michigan middle Hunter Dickinson (1) makes a layup towards Oakland ahead Trey Townsend (13) throughout the additional time on the Crisler Middle in Ann Arbor, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.
[ Dickinson adjusts to life as freshman center. It’s hard ]
Dickinson will face stiffer competitors as soon as Michigan begins convention play. He will not have as a lot of a measurement benefit as he did towards Oakland, and Huge Ten groups may not foul Dickinson as usually, particularly after he was 7-for-9 from the road Sunday.
But his efficiency towards the Grizzlies indicated that Dickinson is Michigan’s middle of the long run — and, maybe, its middle of the current.
He was poised and in management on offense, displaying good contact across the rim. He had a transparent rapport with Williams — sparking a two-man, high-low sport that led to 2 key baskets — and Livers, who was on the receiving finish of two Dickinson assists close to the tip of regulation.
Maybe most spectacular was Dickinson’s really feel for the sport. He knew the place to be on offense towards Oakland’s distinctive zone protection, each as a scorer and passer. And people are expertise that can translate towards any opponent.
Tumblr media
Michigan ahead Austin Davis (51) have fun with middle Hunter Dickinson (1) after 81-71 win over Oakland in additional time on the Crisler Middle in Ann Arbor, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020.
“He has a excessive IQ — he sees performs earlier than it occurs,” stated coach Juwan Howard. “He has an excellent knack of discovering the open man and being very affected person when the ball is in his arms, as properly.”
Now, the query is how lengthy it’ll take for Dickinson to enter Michigan’s beginning lineup. He has come off the bench within the Wolverines’ first two video games and has been environment friendly in each; he scored 11 factors on 4-for-6 taking pictures with 5 rebounds, an help and a block towards Bowling Inexperienced on Wednesday. Maybe Michigan would’ve made an earlier run had Dickinson re-entered the sport earlier than the 11:23 mark of the second half.
The pattern measurement continues to be small, however Dickinson has been Michigan’s simplest and environment friendly participant on offense, and his measurement has created issues on the rim for opposing groups on each ends. And on Sunday, Dickinson was the principle motive the Wolverines prevented a serious upset.
“It means lots for coach Howard and my teammates to belief me,” Dickinson stated. “I believe that’s the type of workforce we’ve got. Everyone’s so unselfish, everyone’s all in regards to the workforce. Everyone’s all in. Coach Howard at all times talks about 4 toes in, so that you gotta be all the best way in with us, and that’s actually what the workforce is.”

You additionally need to remember the text dimension. On the off chance that the content is excessively little, your clients may miss significant data about your item. On the off chance that the content is too enormous, the packaging can turn out to be boisterous and swarmed.
2. Effortlessness
Keep it basic. Attempting to pack an excess of data onto your item's packaging will help clients to remember how they felt when they needed to peruse sections out of their science reading material: exhausted and befuddled.
This likewise returns to clearness. On the off chance that all your client can see on your item packaging is the recorded advantages, yet not your organization name or the name of the item, you'll be passing up the likelihood of future deals.
3. Genuineness
Your item packaging ought to speak to what your item is and does. Individuals can smell a sales rep from a mile away and they can tell when packaging is overselling the item it contains. In case your packaging indicates something totally unique in relation to what is found inside, your clients won't be cheerful. An innovative workaround for this issue is making some portion of your packaging straightforward.
4. Credibility
This tip may sound equivalent to trustworthiness, however, it's unique. For this situation, the attention is on what your image speaks to. This should come through when you plunk down to structure your item's packaging. Your image is not quite the same as each other brand attempting to sell something very similar, so given that show access the plan of your item's packaging. On the off chance that your image's statement of purpose is about connectedness, you could join a tear-away postcard into the packaging, so your clients can remain associated with their companions in an interesting manner.
5. Rack Impact
This tip, by and large, applies just if your item is accessible in a physical store, yet it could, in any case, have an effect in a web-based shopping situation as well. The manner in which items are introduced and sorted out in stores implies that your item will probably wind up in an ocean of others that additionally guarantee to do something very similar. Your item needs to stand out from the others on the rack. However, how would you cause it to do that? The principal standard is to know your opposition.
On the off chance that the other top-selling brand of raisins just uses red packaging, perhaps you make yours in green. Another system that can work is to impersonate your opposition so intently that purchasers won't see when they get your item rather than theirs. This can reverse discharge, however, so consider it the whole distance first.
Tumblr media
6. Make it Fun
Counting inventive, fun thoughts and even some amusingness into your item packaging structure won't go unnoticed or neglected. This welcomes purchasers into the item and gives them a sentiment of recognition. One organization planned teabags that resemble shirts that likewise incorporated a holder structure, so the teabags could without much of a stretch hold tight the edge of a mug. This plan makes the item simpler to utilize and is likewise certain to give clients a laugh and keep them returning.
7. Unique Editions
Making unique constrained versions of your packaging for a specific occasion or subject is one approach to lift transient deals in all respects rapidly. This strategy depends on shoppers' probability of drive purchasing. This works around the occasions and it tends to be co-decided on enormous games like the Olympics as well.
8. Patterns
In each industry, patterns are what keep development alive and are vital for the life span of the market. While the facts confirm that patterns blur with the occasions, they're likewise roundabout and will in general return around on numerous occasions. While having the option to foresee the forthcoming patterns is expertise, everybody can stay aware of patterns as they show up on the off chance that they're focusing.
9. Consider the Customer
In the numerous standards of Product Packaging plan, the emphasis is regularly on the most proficient method to catch the client's eye, yet now we're moving you to consider the client in an alternate manner. Consider the manner in which the client is going to utilize your item.  In the event that it's just intended to be utilized once, ensure the packaging is anything but difficult to get into and discard. for expendable things is likewise worth extra focuses for the eco-cognizant purchaser.
On the off chance that your item is something that is utilized over an extensive stretch of time, ensure the packaging is strong and will keep up the nature of the item inside. Regardless of whether they adore the item, if your lip analgesic evaporates after four uses, clients won't repurchase it.
Something shoppers have addressed for a considerable length of time is the reason grain boxes are not resalable. This pattern presently can't seem to take off in the morning meal advertise, however when it does, shoppers will realize that the change was made in view of them. There's nothing a client acknowledges more than packaging that is both stylishly satisfying and useful.
Tumblr media
10. Simple to Carry
On the off chance that your packaging is excessively massive, incorporate handles or furrows to help effortlessly in conveying it. In the event that your item is genuinely little, ensure your packaging isn't excessively dangerous, so clients aren't dropping it. Except if your image has an imposing business model available, clients won't stick around in the event that they have too troublesome a period taking care of the item.
11. Standard Breaking
This tip may feel like a copout, however, trust me, it isn't. When you've aced the specialty of structure for item packaging, you'll start to see that not the majority of the standards apply constantly. While these are everything to remember, defying the guidelines can be something to be thankful for. Actually, defying the norms is the thing that will transform your image into an innovator rather than a pattern devotee.
Following patterns is a decent spot to begin and break your way into the market, however, once you're a built up nearness, discovering approaches to defy the guidelines of ordinary item packaging structure is the thing that will separate your item.
Whoever considered turning the ketchup bottle over was a virtuoso and changed the standards of sustenance item packaging for the remainder of the time. Regardless they worked inside the shows of the item showcase, however. You can make sure that nobody is structuring square fixing jugs at any point in the near future.
Tumblr media
12. Look to the Future
The best brands keep their focus on the awesome end goal: development. Leaving space for your image and item range to extend and develop is key for your business' long haul achievement. Along these lines, recollect this when you're planning your item's packaging.
This shouldn't imply that you can't be incredibly explicit when you're structuring the item packaging for a specific item. It just implies that you should probably make varieties to the structure when your image definitely makes new items in a similar line.
We may never know precisely what it is that makes clients pick one brand of something over another, yet following these standards when you're considering custom item Packaging plan can give you a head begin once again the challenge.

It is definitely very easy to remove any things https://preminal.000webhostapp.com/ out of a photography but the photo editing software does work perfectly on unique, little things that are certainly closed in by uniform colorations. This is since the heal device has to replace the location you wish to remove with another thing, and also this functions best when it has an area close by that looks similar. So for instance, a dark spot on a face is bordered by a great deal of similarly colored skin, so the recover tool can easily determine what to replace the red spot based upon the surrounding area. That is actually for the photo editing software needs to change out the location you will to take out with another thing besides, and that function ideal whenever it has a section near that looks very same. Best photo editing software for beginners has turned into really complex and also highly effective and it is possible to control photograph and so they end up being completely different from the original. There certainly are definitely lots of photo editing software and also wide ranges of means of having the very same or comparable effects. The purpose very most when it comes to a lot of photos I post process is normally to produce all of them look being normal as feasible. I strongly believe this is an exceptional point to start off, also if you wish to continue on as well as produce more surreal seeming pictures. Shade variation inside a photo shot is just one of the primary problems. The eyes can typically see a wider variety of tone than your cam can shot. The meaning of photo editing and enhancing is the process of reshaping an image, put simply. Still, this is simplifying a subject that is quite difficult. You can generally implement basic picture editing and enhancing techniques like photo orientation fairly conveniently as well as promptly however complicated techniques and also electronic editing and enhancing may need photo editing software and more skill. Best photo editing software for beginners is a helper that anyone can utilize to control and beautify photos. Since images include an enhancing amount of uses, even more companies are exploring means to reuse images as well as use them on many channels.

10k followers on instagram - A great Understanding
For the previous many a long time, Facebook is conducting what amounts to an A/B check on human society, using two various social websites apps. The main application in Fb’s examination provides a maximalist style: It allows users to publish lengthy standing updates, with inbound links to information article content, photographs, movies plus much more. The application is built as a giant megaphone, by having an emphasis on general public sharing and an algorithmic feed able to sending posts rocketing worldwide in seconds. The 2nd app in the exam is a lot more minimalist, designed for intimate sharing as an alternative to viral broadcasting. People of the app, lots of whom have private accounts with modest followings, can post photographs or films, but exterior backlinks never work and there's no re-share button, rendering it tougher for consumers to amplify each other’s posts. The effects of the check happen to be stark. The very first app, Facebook, changed into a big and unmanageable behemoth that swallowed the media marketplace, was exploited by hostile international actors, empowered autocrats, produced the circumstances for a global phony information epidemic and ultimately turned a giant headache for its creators. The 2nd application, Instagram, has fared much better. It hasn’t been overrun with bogus information, it hasn’t been exploited to the identical degree, and most customers feel pleased with it — In particular youthful people, who vastly want it to Fb. Mark Zuckerberg has pledged to spend 2018 cleansing up Fb, and making certain that “our companies aren’t just entertaining to make use of, but additionally great for folks’s very well-staying.” He’s also pledged to manage the scourge of fake information on Facebook, and do a far better career of maintaining undesirable actors at bay. Good for him. But there might be an easier fix right here. Why doesn’t he make his beleaguered blue application more like Instagram, the Facebook-owned application that isn’t destabilizing society? Very last 7 days, Fb unveiled its newest attempt to rein in its flagship merchandise. In order to control Fake information, it introduced It might be allowing for Facebook end users to rank news retailers by trustworthiness, and consider These scores when choosing which information stories to Exhibit in users’ feeds. But this type of small algorithmic knob-fiddling is probably not more than enough. Rather, Fb ought to consider using what it’s uncovered with Instagram, which it obtained in 2012, to embark over a intestine renovation. If I were Mr. Zuckerberg, Here are a few Instagram lessons I’d be thinking about. Lesson No. 1: Emphasize visuals. De-emphasize text. Very first, and most obviously, Instagram is a visible medium. Pics and movies are the key party, and text, while existing, is usually confined to captions and remarks. Therefore, Instagram feels much more intimate than Fb, where by shots and films usually sit together with prolonged diatribes, restaurant Test-ins and mundane status updates. Exploration has demonstrated that, in some cases, visual platforms is usually great for us. One examine, released by researchers within the University of Oregon in 2016, located that the usage of impression-primarily based platforms like Instagram and Snapchat was linked to lower levels of loneliness among consumers, and higher amounts of pleasure and gratification, whilst text-primarily based platforms experienced no correlation with enhanced psychological wellbeing. A closely Visible System also can make a comparatively lousy conduit for breaking news As well as in-the-second commentary, which could reveal why Instagram normally feels significantly less exhausting than other social networks. (Additionally, it describes why final month, prior to I went on trip, I deleted every social websites application from my cell phone apart from Instagram — the one app I dependable not to destroy my beachside tranquil.) Lesson No. 2: Rethink the share button. Certainly one of Instagram’s most underrated virtues is the fact that it has imposed structural restrictions on virality — the flexibility of the presented article to distribute over and above its supposed viewers. In contrast to Twitter and Fb, on Instagram there isn't any native sharing functionality, indicating which the access of most Instagram posts is capped at the amount of people that Keep to the user’s account. (There are methods to “regram” some other person’s Picture using a third-get together application, Nevertheless they’re clunky, and relatively several men and women utilize them. Instagram also lately began exhibiting consumers posts from folks they don’t stick to, a Fb-influenced transform that I’d argue can be a error.) A native share button has been immensely beneficial for Fb’s and Twitter’s advancement. It's got also authorized upstart media businesses like BuzzFeed and Upworthy to make enormous audiences by specializing in highly shareable stories. But simplicity of sharing has also permitted the loudest and many psychological voices to become rewarded with clicks — and a focus. It’s this incentive framework that has authorized partisans and profiteers to hijack Facebook’s algorithms and unfold divisive messages and false information to numerous people. The straightforward virality of Fb also seems to have built person consumers additional hesitant about opening up. That makes sense — it’s simpler to share a selfie if you realize it received’t accidentally obtain its way in the feeds of one million strangers. Lesson No. 3: Ban hyperlinks. Instagram’s biggest structural advantage, nevertheless, could be a results of its final decision to go primarily url-no cost. Links in Instagram captions and remarks aren’t clickable, and Although some customers have found workarounds, the vast majority of Instagram posts aren’t intended to send out buyers to exterior Sites. (The exceptions are ads, which often can comprise clickable inbound links and therefore are, not coincidentally, the most troubled Section of Instagram’s System.) The walled-backyard character of Instagram has annoyed publishers, who want to mail followers out to their Internet sites, the place the publishers can generate advertising revenue and “Manage the reader working experience.” (It’s truly nearly the money.) But Instagram has properly refused to give in, Maybe knowing that making it possible for backlinks may convert the platform right into a screeching bazaar, with publishers and pages all accomplishing circus acts for clicks. Getting rid of inbound links from Fb would wreak havoc on the electronic media business, which has designed an economic model all-around referral targeted visitors from Fb. It would also chance alienating some buyers, who take pleasure in selling and speaking about stories from other portions Click to find out more of the web. But it would also clear up many of the System’s most vexing worries. And in the end, It could be much better for the world. After all, destructive actors don’t put up fabricated news, wildly exaggerated headlines or partisan outrage-bait on Facebook only for fun. They are doing it, in many conditions, as it’s lucrative. Take away lousy actors’ incentives and they’ll go elsewhere. Banning most back links doesn’t appear to have harm Instagram as a business. It had over 800 million month to month Lively people as of September, and it gained 1,000,000 new advertisers last yr. Facebook doesn’t break out Instagram’s earnings, but some analysts expect the application could at some point deliver about $10 billion in once-a-year income. That’s however nowhere in the vicinity of Fb, which earned $ten billion in earnings previous quarter by yourself, but it really’s a significant variety, and it reveals that insularity isn’t constantly a bad matter. Lesson No. 4: Bad actors are unavoidable, but their influence might be contained. Instagram is far from an excellent social community, and copying it wouldn’t deal with all of Fb’s difficulties overnight. Among other concerns, some investigation has shown that use of Instagram can breed insecurity and bullying, and exacerbate entire body graphic problems, Specifically amid youthful Females. Instagram also hosts its have sketchy microeconomy — just witness the scourge of Insta-famous people endorsing dubious wellbeing products, or perhaps the uptick in fly-by-evening customer brand names that market themselves using Instagram adverts. And Russian propagandists did use Instagram to test to affect American voters ahead of the 2016 presidential election, with posts that arrived at as quite a few as 20 million people. (Significantly below the believed 126 million people who were arrived at by Russian posts on Facebook, but a hefty selection Nevertheless.) But even these flaws are preferable on the structural issues that have plagued Fb. Offered the selection amongst a Variation of Fb that built a few of its users feel ugly and unpopular, and a single that can be used to undermine democracies and encourage misinformation world wide, I understand which a single I’d decide. Several billion Facebook end users may well concur.

Auto Layout Tutorial in iOS 11: Getting Started
Start thinking in auto layout constraints!
Update note: This tutorial has been updated to iOS 11, Xcode 9, and Swift 4 by Ryan Ackermann. The original tutorial was written by Matthijs Hollemans.
Have you ever been frustrated trying to make your apps look good in both portrait and landscape orientation? Is making screen layouts that support both the iPhone and iPad driving you to the brink of madness?
Despair no longer, I bring you good news!
Not only does Auto Layout make it easy to support different screen sizes in your apps, as a bonus it also makes internationalization almost trivial. You no longer have to make new nibs or storyboards for every language that you wish to support, and this includes right-to-left languages such as Hebrew or Arabic.
In this Auto Layout tutorial, you’ll learn all about constraints and how to apply them!
Auto what now?
If you’re relatively new to iOS development, the phrase “Auto Layout” may be completely foreign to you. So what is it exactly? Well, in the beginning, Apple made only one screen size for the iPhone. And it was good. Developers had an easy time creating interfaces that didn’t have to be terribly flexible, as they really only had to fit that one size. Fast forward to today, and you’re in a much different world: different sized iPhones, iPads, and more emphasis on landscape mode all demand user interfaces of different sizes. Rather than expect developers to create different interfaces for each screen size, Apple came up with a system for allowing elements within a user interface to grow, shrink, and move depending on the size of the screen.. and they called it Auto Layout.
Auto Layout is a system of constraints, or UI based rules, that govern the size and position of elements on the screen. While that may sound simple on the surface, as you’ll see in the tutorial Auto Layout can get quite complex very quickly! Before you dive in, it will be helpful to orient yourself with all the tools in Xcode and Interface Builder.
Auto Layout orientation
Before you start creating a simple user interface, you should take a tour of Xcode and Interface Builder. Interface Builder is a graphical tool inside Xcode that allows developers like you to create user interfaces using Auto Layout. Here’s some of the common terminology you will come across when using Interface Builder.
The Pin menu is located on the bottom right of the editor. This menu is used to add new constraints to UI elements like buttons and labels.
The Align menu is located to left of the Pin menu at the bottom right of the editor. This menu creates alignment constraints. You’d use this menu to vertically align a label relative to another view.
The Document Outline is located on the left side of the editor. This panel is used to view the hierarchy of a view’s layout. This is useful when trying to figure out the relationship of a view.
The Attributes Inspector is located in the middle utility pane on the right side of Xcode. This panel is used to customize a view’s attributes. You’d use this panel to change the background color of a view or the text of a button.
T-bars are Xcode’s way of visualizing constraints on a view. In the image below there are 3 T-bars that represent the button’s top, leading, and trailing constraints. These bars will also indicate if there are any warnings or errors by turning either yellow or red.
To start learning the ins and outs of Interface Builder, you’ll first create an empty iPhone application.
Trivia Tidbit: When iOS development first started, Interface Builder was actually a completely separate and stand alone application from Xcode!
Open up Xcode, and select Create a new Xcode project. Select the Single View App template and enter “Buttons” for the Product Name. Leave other options to their defaults.
Select Main.storyboard and make sure that Use Auto Layout, Use Trait Variations, and Use Safe Area Layout Guides are all enabled via the Storyboard’s File Inspector:
New in iOS 11: Safe Area Layout Guides let you know the area of your content that is visible underneath anything that might be obscured by bars, such as navigation bars.
Alright it’s time to get your hands dirty! The best way to get comfortable with Auto Layout is to dive right in and create a user interface, so proceed to the next section and get ready to move fast and furious!
A little runtime excursion
Drag two buttons into the scene and give them a background color of yellow and green. Put the yellow button below the green button.
Select the green button and use the Pin menu on the bottom right to make a constraint to its nearest bottom neighbor (40 points). Then select the lower button and do the same (8 points).
Open the Align menu with the yellow button selected, and check Horizontally in Container. Now, select both buttons, and in the Align menu check Leading Edges and press Add Constraints.
You might see a red circle with an arrow in it on the top left. Usually, this indicates an issue that you need to fix. Don’t worry about this for now, as you’ll fix it later. :]
Playing with this in Interface Builder is all well and good, but now you’ll see how this works at runtime. Add the following method to ViewController.swift:
@IBAction func buttonTapped(_ sender: UIButton) { if sender.title(for: .normal) == "X" { sender.setTitle("A very long title for this button", for: .normal) } else { sender.setTitle("X", for: .normal) } }
This toggles between a long title and a short title for the button that triggered the event. Connect this action method to both of the buttons in Interface Builder. Ctrl-drag from each button to the view controller and select buttonTapped: in the popup.
Run the app and tap the buttons to see how it behaves. Perform the test in both portrait and landscape orientations.
Regardless of which button has the long title and which has the short title, the layout always satisfies the constraints you have given it:
The lower button is always center-aligned in the window, horizontally.
The lower button always sits 8 points from the bottom of the window.
The top button is always 40 points above the lower button, and aligned with the lower button.
That is the entire specification for your user interface.
For fun, remove the Leading Alignment constraint (select it in the and press Delete on your keyboard), then select both buttons in Interface Builder and from the Align menu select the Trailing Edges option.
Now run the app again and notice the differences.
Repeat, but now choose Align\Horizontal Centers. That will always center the top button with respect to the bottom button. Run the app and see how the buttons act when you tap them.
Auto Layout Issues: Sometimes Xcode cannot automatically resolve the layout you are trying to define. Most of the time Xcode hasn’t had a chance to re-calculate the view and you are stuck with an orange box indicating the best guess of where the layout should be. In this case clicking the Update Frames button should fix the problem.
However sometimes the issue might be more tricky to resolve. Selecting the right-most Resolve Auto Layout Issues button presents a menu of options that can help by updating your existing constraints, add missing constraints, resetting your constraints to constraints suggested by Xcode, or clearing the constraints so that you can start over.
Intrinsic Content Size
The Pin menu has a Widths Equally option. If you set this constraint on two views, then Auto Layout will always make both views equally wide, based on which one is the largest.
Select both buttons and choose Pin\Equal Widths. This adds a new constraint to both buttons:
Even though there are two T-bars, in the Document Outline this shows up as a single Equal Widths constraint:
Run the app and tap the buttons. The buttons always have the same width, regardless of which one has the largest label.
Of course, when both labels are very short, both buttons will shrink equally. After all, unless there is a constraint that prevents it, buttons will size themselves to fit their content exactly, no more, no less. What was that called again? Right, the intrinsic content size.
Before Auto Layout, you always had to tell buttons and other controls how big they should be, either by setting their frame or bounds properties or by resizing them in Interface Builder. But it turns out that most controls are perfectly capable of determining how much space they need, based on their content.
A label knows how wide and tall it is because it knows the length of the text that has been set on it, as well as the font size for that text. Likewise for a button, which might combine the text with a background image and some padding.
This is known as the intrinsic content size, and it is an important concept in Auto Layout. You have already seen it in action with the buttons. Auto Layout asks your controls how big they need to be and lays out the screen based on that information.
Usually you want to use the intrinsic content size, but there are some cases where you may not want to do that. You can prevent this by setting an explicit Width or Height constraint on a view.
Fixing the width
So what happens when one of the buttons has a fixed width constraint on it? Buttons calculate their own size, but you can override this by giving them a fixed width. Select the top button and choose Pin\Width from the menu. This adds a solid T-bar below the button:
Because this sort of constraint only applies to the button itself, not to its superview, it is listed in the Document Outline below the button object. In this case, you have fixed the button to a width of 46 points:
You cannot simply drag the button’s resize handles to make the button wider. If you do, you’ll end up with a whole bunch of orange boxes. If you make a change to the button’s frame, it’s up to you to make the constraints match. The alternative approach is to simply change the constraint.
Select the width = 46 constraint and go to the Attributes inspector. Change Constant to 80:
Run the app and tap the buttons. What happens? The button text changes, but it gets truncated because there is not enough room:
Because the top button has a fixed-width constraint and both buttons are required to be the same size, they will never shrink or grow.
Play around with this stuff for a bit to get the hang of pinning and aligning views. Get a feel for it, because not everything is immediately obvious. Just remember that there must always be enough constraints so that Auto Layout can determine the position and size for all views.
Gallery example
You should now have an idea of what constraints are and how you can build up your layouts by forging relationships between the different views. In the following sections, you will see how to use Auto Layout and constraints to create layouts that meet real-world scenarios.
Pretend you want to make an app that has a gallery of your favorite programmers. It looks like this in portrait and landscape:
The screen is divided into four equal quarters. Each quarter has an image view and a label. How would you approach this?
Download and open the starter project so you can get started. The sample project is a blank slate that includes the images you’ll need to display in the gallery. Open Main.storyboard.
Now select the iPhone SE size from the view as panel on the bottom left.
From the Object Library, drag a plain View object onto the canvas. With the view selected, open the Size Inspector, and set the Width to 160, and Height to 284 points.
Next, in the Attributes inspector set the view’s background color to green:
There are two main reasons why you would drop a plain UIView onto a storyboard: a) You’re going to use it as a container for other views, which helps with organizing the content of your scenes; or b) It’s a placeholder for a custom view or control, and you will also set its Class attribute to the name of your own UIView or UIControl subclass.
Select the green view and open the Pin menu. A popup appears which lets you add a variety of constraints, and you will also see a checkbox labeled Constrain to margins:
Remember the blue guides that appear when you drag a view near to the edge of its superview? Instead of creating a constraint from the very edge of the view, you can create a constraint from the view’s margin. A view can define its own margin sizes which allows you to be more flexible about your layouts. For the purposes of this Auto Layout tutorial, you’ll stick to making constraints to the edges of the view. Go ahead and uncheck that box, and create 4 constraints to all four of the green view’s nearest neighbors in each direction by clicking the connector’s between the middle square and text field:
This will create four new constraints between the green view and its superview, one for each side of the view. The actual spacing values may be different for you, depending on where you placed the view – you don’t have the change the values to match the ones above exactly. Click Add 4 Constraints to finish.
Your storyboard should now look something like this:
Maybe you wondered why the constraint at the top of the view doesn’t go all the way up to the top of the screen:
Instead it stops at the status bar. But since iOS 7 the status bar is always drawn on top of the view controller — it is no longer a separate bar — so what gives? When you created the constraint it didn’t actually attach to the top of the screen but the top of an invisible rectangle called the Safe Area.
The Safe Area is the part of the view controller that isn’t obscured by any bars like the status, navigation or tab bar. Because the navigation bar has a different height in landscape, the Safe Area resizes with the bar when the device is rotated. That makes it easy to place views relative to the navigation bar. The same goes for tab bars.
This view needs four constraints to keep it in place. Unlike a button or label, a plain UIView does not have an intrinsic content size. There must always be enough constraints to determine the position and size of each view, so this view also needs constraints to tell it what size it needs to be.
You may wonder, where are these size constraints? In this case, the size of the view is implied by the size of the superview. The constraints in this layout are a leading, trailing, top and bottom constraint, and these all have fixed lengths. You can see this in the Document Outline:
The width of the green view is calculated by the formula “width of safe area minus (80 + 80)” and its height by the formula “height of safe area minus (13 + 163)”. The constraints are fixed, so the view has no choice but to resize. (Again, your values may be different depending on where you put the view.)
When you rotate the app, the dimensions of the superview change, so the view’s size changes with it. Build and run the app, and rotate the simulator to see how the view behaves.
You may not always want your UIView to resize when the device rotates, so you can use constraints to give the view a fixed width and/or height. Do that now. Select the green view and click the Pin button; in the popup put checkmarks in front of Width and Height.
Click Add 2 Constraints to finish. You have now added two new constraints to the view, a 160 point width constraint and a 372 point height constraint:
Because width and height constraints apply to just this view, they are located in the Document Outline under the View. Usually, constraints express a relationship between two different views, but you can consider the width and height constraints to be a relationship between the green view and itself.
Run the app. Yup, looks good in portrait.
Now flip over to landscape. Whoops! Not only does it not look like you wanted – the view has changed size again – but the Xcode debug pane has dumped a nasty error message that looks like this at the top:
Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints. Probably at least one of the constraints in the following list is one you don't want. Try this: (1) look at each constraint and try to figure out which you don't expect; (2) find the code that added the unwanted constraint or constraints and fix it. (...) Will attempt to recover by breaking constraint....
Remember when I said that there must be enough constraints so that Auto Layout can calculate the positions and sizes of all the views? Well, this is an example where there are too many constraints. Whenever you get the error “Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints”, it means that your constraints are conflicting somewhere.
Look at those constraints again:
There are six constraints set on the green view, the four constraints you saw earlier (1-4) and the new width and height constraints that you have just set on it (5 and 6). So where is the conflict?
In portrait mode there shouldn’t be a problem because the math adds up. If you add the lengths of the leading and trailing constraints and the width constraints, then you should also end up at the width of the super view. Likewise for the vertical constraints.
But when you rotate the device to landscape, the math is off and Auto Layout doesn’t know what to do.
The conflict here is that either the width of the view is fixed and one of the margins must be flexible, or the margins are fixed and the width must be flexible. You can’t have both. So one of these constraints has to go. In the above example, you want the view to have the same width in both portrait and landscape, so the trailing Horizontal Space has got to go.
Remove the Safe Area.trailing = View.trailing at the right and the Safe Area.bottom = View.bottom at the bottom by selecting them in the Document Outline and hitting the delete key. The storyboard should look like this:
Now the view has just the right number of constraints to determine its size and position — no more, no less. Run the app and verify that the error message is gone and that the view stays the same size after rotating.
Painting the portraits
From the Object library, drag a Label onto the green view. Notice that now the guides appear within that green view, because it will be the superview for the label.
Position the label against the bottom margin, spaced equally from the guides. Do this by dding a space constraint to anchor the label against the bottom, left and right of the green view, at 20 points distance. The quickest way is to use the Pin button and selecting the T-bar at the bottom, left and right, and entering 20 for the value:
Now, with the Label selected, in the Attributes inspector, selected the Center Alignment button.
It’s always important to have a right and left constraint on UILabels, since otherwise they would show outside their superview if the text is too long.
Notice that these new constraints are listed under the green view’s own Constraints section, not in the main view.
Drag a new Image View object onto the storyboard, and make the layout look like this:
The image view’s top, left, and right edges are pinned to its superview, but its bottom is connected to the top of the label with a standard spacing of 8 points. If you’re unsure of how to do this, then follow these steps.
1. Drag the image view into the green view but don’t worry too much about its size or position:
2. With the image view selected, press the Pin button and choose the following options:
The top, left, and right T-bars are set to 20 points but the bottom one is set to 8 points.
The constraints you chose result in a different frame than the image view’s current position and size. Interface Builder will automatically adjust the frame as it adds the constraints and everything looks dandy:
As mentioned above if you do end up with a misplaced frame, you can always use the Update Frames (1) or the Resolve Auto Layout Issues (2) button to fix it:
Adding Images
Now you are ready to start adding the images and names to your view. You’ll use the bundled images included in the Assets.xcassets.
Open Main.storyboard. Select the Image View, and in the Attributes Inspector, set Ray as the Image. Also set the Content Mode to Aspect Fit. Then, set the Background to White Color
Double click the Label, and set it’s title to “Ray”.
Next, select the green view’s height constraint, and in the Size Inspector, change its constant to 284. This will make sure it’s half as large as the screen.
Your layout should look like this:
Notice that the constraints inside the green view turned red. This happened the moment you set the image on the image view. How come your layout is suddenly invalid? Fortunately you can take the guesswork out of it and let Xcode tell you exactly what’s wrong.
Click the small red arrow next to View Controller Scene in the Document Outline to view the issues:
You have a Content Priority Ambiguity error. That’s quite the mouthful. This is what it means: If neither the image view nor the label has a fixed height, then Auto Layout doesn’t know by how much to scale each if the height of the green view should change.
Say at some point in your app the green view becomes 100 points taller. How should Auto Layout distribute these new 100 points among the label and the image view? Does the image view become 100 points taller while the label stays the same size? Or does the label become taller while the image view stays the same? Do they both get 50 points extra, or is it split 25/75, 40/60, or some other combination?
If you don’t solve this problem somehow then Auto Layout is going to have to guess and the results may be unpredictable.
The proper solution is to change the Content Hugging Priority of the label. You can imagine “hugging” here to mean “size to fit” – the bounds of the view will “hug” or be close to the intrinsic content size. A higher value here means the view will be less likely to grow and more likely to stay the same.
Go into the Size inspector for the label and set the Vertical Content Hugging Priority to 252. That makes it one higher than the priority of the image view. When the superview changes size, that means the image view will be the one to resize, and the label will stay pretty much the same size. Also change it’s Vertical Content Compression Resistance Priority to 751, which will make sure it doesn’t shrink.
The T-bars should turn blue again and the Auto Layout warnings are gone.
Adding the other heads
Drag the green view into the main view’s top-left corner. Recall that the green view had Horizontal Space and Vertical Space constraints that determined its position in the parent view. It still has those and they cause the frame of the view to be misaligned.
To fix this, use the Resolve Auto Layout Issues button and choose Update Constraints Constants. This will update the constraints to match the frame.
The leading constraint now has size 0 and is represented by a thick blue line at the left edge of the window. Even though the view sits completely in the corner, it still needs constraints to anchor it there:
Xcode was able to generate most of the constraints correctly however, you’ll need to modify the view’s top constraint. In the size inspector double click on the Align Top to Safe Area row in the Sibling & Ancestor Constraints section and set the Second Item to Superview:
Now you are going to start adding more views to show more people. Select the green view and tap ⌘D to duplicate it. Move the duplicate into the top-right corner:
Notice that the T-bars are red. When you made the duplicate, it lost its constraints for the X and Y position. To fix that, pin the view to the top and the right edges of the window (make sure to uncheck Constrain to margins).
Duplicate two more times and put these copies in the bottom-left and bottom-right corners, respectively. The bottom-left view should have its leading and bottom pinned, while the bottom right should have its trailing and bottom edges pinned to the superview.
Time to make the screen more colorful. Select each of the green views and change their backgrounds like you did before, to a different color. Also change the labels’ titles and the images views’ images to represent the programmers. In the end, your screen should look something like this:
Those are some good-looking programmers! :]
Run the app on the iPhone SE simulator. It looks good in portrait, but not in landscape:
It should be pretty obvious what went wrong: you’ve set a fixed width and height on the four brightly-colored container views, so they will always have those sizes, regardless of the size of their superview.
Select the fixed width and fixed height constraints from all four views and delete them (this is easiest in the Document Outline). If you run the app now, you’ll get something like this:
Note: If you’re wondering why some of the views are larger than others, this is again related to the intrinsic content size. The size of the image determines how large the image view is; the size of the text determines how large the label is. Taken together with the constraints for the margins this determines the total size of each view.
To achieve your desired layout your going to set each view’s width and height to be 50% of the ViewController’s view. Start by Ctrl + dragging from the green Ray view to the white containing view:
While holding Shift click Equal Widths and Equal Heights then press Enter. This will allow you to select multiple items at once. Once those constraints are active Ray will fill the screen, which is not the intention. :]
In the size inspector click the edit button on the Equal Width to Superview row in the Sibling & Ancestor Constraints section:
In the multiplier field enter 0.5 and press Enter. This will set the width of Ray’s view to be 50% of Ray’s container view. Repeat this for the Equal Height to Superview row and you should see that Ray is now the correct size:
Now repeat this for the remaining 3 views. Build and run. Everything looks great!

“Days and Days” Music Analysis
Below is a music analysis of the song “Days and Days” from the musical Fun Home. You can reference a PDF file of the score of the song here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx7P5kBD8k4AdVZQajlzdWlIS28/view?usp=sharing
The analysis will begin by discussing the musical experience of the song using more common language. As the analysis gets deeper, more technical and complex terminology will be used, and you can reference a music dictionary to understand the vocabulary and points being made: https://dictionary.onmusic.org/
While listening to this song, one repeatedly feels a fluid and lyrical sound in the music, that would contrast with a firm and pulsing sense in other sections. This back and forth between dreamy/ethereal vs. pulsing/raging/uneasy, created a tug of war not only between the rhythmic and melodic movements, but also in the mood that they create. Additionally, one would go through a series of emotions while listening to this song. There are sections where a sense of helplessness or sorrow is present, and others where there is a sense of strength and hopefulness. This song can be seen as painting in colour with shades of blue. This supports the emotional effect it has on the audience, and the idea of different sections feeling warmer than others. There was also a wave-like rocking sensation throughout the main sections. This comes from the ‘rise and fall’ action that happens in the accompaniment. In certain phrases, a build in tension and conflict within the music is sensed, which soon would resolve to very simple and bare accompaniment. For instance, in bars 48-52, there is a very large build that is marked in the music to be played ‘relentlessly’. Directly following this section, in bars 53-63, the accompaniment changes dramatically with only chords played underneath the melodic line. This example supports the aural experience of the push/pull effect that we felt throughout this piece of music.
This particular song is quite significant to the dramatic point of the show due to the stark contrasts within its sections and in its emotional effect from listening to it. Listening to the accompaniment on its own is enough to draw a listener in due to its constant shifts in motion. The melody line added to it supports much of what is already found in the accompaniment but also clarifies the emotional state of the song by alternating between going with and going against the music underneath it.
The song’s form is in A B B’ C B” A’ D. The breakdown of the entire song is as follows:
A (bars 1-8)
 B (bars 9-18)
 B’ (bars 19-28)
 C (bars 29-41)
 B’’ (bars 42-52)
 A’ (bars 53-63)
 D (bars 64-70)
Section D is the segment that merits the most depth of analysis. This is the very end of the song, where all of the musical and dramatic/emotional motifs reappear before resolving on the final chord. It is in a different key from the rest of the song as it is a new and final ‘thought.’ In this section, the time signature is 12/8. In the previous section, the time signature was 4/4 and switches just as bar 64 begins. This is where the shift in pulsing and firm movement to fluid and lyrical movement occurs. This section is a continuation of the more fluid accompaniment, as indicated by the 12/8 time signature. Rhythmically, this section feels pushed beginning in bar 65. This pushed sense comes from the rhythmic shift from triplet to dotted eighth notes and the rests preceding and proceeding this phrase. This rhythmic pattern repeats in bar 56, and then shifts back to a straight rhythmic feel in bar 57. This is perceived in the rhythm due to the fact that it is all occurring in 12/8 time; the triplets move steadily and the dotted rhythms are more syncopated. In the context of this segment and this song, the syncopation is not a rhythmic playfulness, but rather a slight intonation emphasis on words that are very important to the phrase of text. It not only gives them more weight, but gives the overall phrase a more conversational feel. This is also emphasized by the Quasi Tempo marking; this section is not done exactly in the same tempo as the previous B sections as it is a final moment of confusion and then resolution all in a conversational fashion.
Melodically, there are two returning motifs from previous B sections. In bar 64, the “days and days” refrain melody is played in the accompaniment, but is different in this section as it is not sung this time. This can be seen as dramatically symbolic for the song’s final section as Helen, the mother, has this thought once more, but has at this point has realized she must let go of the pain from those ‘days’ in order for her to teach her daughter to learn from her mistakes. This phrase has a decrescendo leading into a crescendo, which again emphasizes this moment that Helen is experiencing. The second repeating motif in this section is in bars 65 and 66. This motif is sung throughout the song in the B sections, with the repeated phrase “that’s how it happens.” Now, this motif has arrived again with the phrases “don’t you come back here” and “I didn’t raise you...”. Dramatically, we feel that this has been brought back to highlight Helen’s now decisive manner in terms of letting go of the past and not just accepting her mistakes for what they are. Additionally, this section follows the same chord progression as the previous B sections, only this time the melody and accompaniment that occurs within that framework is extremely varied from those sections. This again emphasizes the same thoughts occurring for Helen, but with a new found strength of letting go of the past and setting a better example for her daughter.
Harmonically, the chord progression follows this pattern: Tonic, Dominant, Mediant (minor), Tonic, Tonic over Subtonic, Tonic. Starting at the tonic, this pattern has a very natural sounding progression as it moves through the Dominant and Mediant minor chords. Following that, we have the Tonic and the Tonic over Subtonic which gives way for tension which is then resolved by ending on the Tonic. This final resolution musically also indicates a resolution dramatically, as it seems as if Helen and her daughter have come to an understanding with one another as Helen lets go of her painful days of the past. This also correlates to our aural experience in the sense that the song ends on a very hopeful note. As far as articulation detail, there is not much to comment on in this section. The only accented note is at the end of bar 64, which is stressed because this may be where Helen fully decides to let those past days go. There is also a fermata on the final chord in bar 70, which draws out the final hopeful moment of the song. If it were physicalized, this could be seen as a nice big hug.
Textually, this sections begins with quick pushed phrases. Bar 65, “Don’t you come back here,” and bar 66, “I didn’t raise you,” follow the quick and pushed rhythm. These phrases come out quickly, and as the text supports, this is because these phrases come from a place of desperation and urgency. This shifts in bar 67, “to give away your days…” where the phrase is very straightforward. This is highlighted in this fashion because it is Helen’s most important thought in terms of hammering this lesson into Alison’s head. At the end of bar 67, there is a breath mark followed by “like…” which is sung without accompaniment, and leads into the final bars where the text reads, “me.” This breath mark signifies the idea that Helen has perhaps ended her thought after saying, “Don’t you come back here, I didn’t raise you to give away your days.” The continuation of text and music indicates either Alison does not understand or Helen has not been completely honest yet, and then decides to open up and finish the thought by saying, “like me.”

But, the truth is that typography is among the many important website design components which if overlooked may poorly effect profits.
Therefore, let’s get right down to the nitty gritty of typography to comprehend its significance and effect on estore revenue:
Typography: What’s it precisely?
Here’s the Wiki definition:
“Typography may be the artwork and manner of organizing kind to create written vocabulary legible, understandable, and attractive when shown. The agreement of kind entails choosing typefaces, stage dimensions, line measures, point-space (top), and notice-space (monitoring), and modifying the area between sets of characters (kerning).”

However the website-design (including kind, dimension of the font, colour and whitespace) encourages them to do this.
There’s been an investigation research that demonstrates the truth that typefaces possess a fantastic effect on the way in which info is processed by us. One study was performed by oscar-winner documentary filmmaker Errol Morris and entitled “Are you an optimist or pessimist?” within this fascinating research, he unearthed that visitors are far more prone to trust a declaration if it had been created in Baskerville font than offered in virtually any additional font like Atlanta, Comic Sans, Pc Contemporary, Helvetica or Trebuchet.

Brand Duration and Line-Spacing:
Too-short or too much time outlines won’t appear visually satisfying. The point duration that is typical is 45-90 figures including areas.
Line-spacing may be the length between two traces of wording. Line-spacing that is suggested is between 120 of the font-size.
WhiteSpace:
A stylish look is given by whitespace to your site format. An item site that’s cluttered with all information concerning the item like pictures, item explanation, movies and CTAs may transform less when compared with an item site with item info that is decluttered. Moreover, it creates it simple for online consumers to locate information that is preferred about the merchandise effortlessly.
Create suitable utilization of whitespace to create your item pages visually spectacular.
Font-Size and Kind:
Fonts perform with an essential part within the readability of this content. Difficult-to-read typefaces may change of one’s guests. Alternately, correct typefaces may convince the specified motion to be taken by people.

The guideline would be to choose the one which fits your model picture causes it to be understandable and it is within the compliance towards the items you’re promoting although there’s no perfect font-size or font for e-commerce styles.
For example, in the 3 typefaces that are subsequent, which do you consider can give reliability for a web-based medical shop and the impact of dependable?
It’s simple enough to reckon that medical e-store font will be opted for by web site designers.
Consider Your Typography Efficiency
You’ve established shades of one’s CTAs the font, font-size and other style aspects of your typography. But could it be employed by your site that is e-commerce?
The easiest way to understand when the chosen typography is currently employed by your estore or not, would be to do some A split-testing. Large number of estore store-owners declare that they don’t have time for you to do screening that is typography. Isn’t it the same as stating when I am hectic driving” have time for you to quit for gasoline? (Example obtained from Robin Sharma’s bestseller guide – ‘A Monk Who Offered Their Ferrari’) Fundamentally you’ll spend the cost for this; and also the damaged measurements could be – customer count, rebound rate and transformation price.
About the other-hand, screening enables you to understand if the selection of typefaces, font type shades is getting the ideal impact on your sales. Be fresh and find out what is most effective for the audience!
Covering It-Up
Typography is just a crucial component within the website design formula that is e-commerce. In employing a costly improvement company to build up a e-commerce system an e-commerce businessman that has invested a large number of bucks could see his e-commerce start up crash if this essential and fundamental style component is overlooked.
It requires to become easy enough such that it is in and understandable the same period persuasive enough stay and to convince audience to search.
Strong entice fresh guests typography may develop a powerful company identification and lure clients to review your website; therefore improving profits for the company.
Have you been delivering your potential customers the best concept with typography? Which typefaces have you been utilizing for the company to possess conversions that are optimum? Discuss concerns or your suggestions around within the remarks below.
