You laid there, feeling the cool body paint move around on your back. Dean’s gentle fingers tracing over your back could put you to sleep. This had been the most calm and rest you had in the last couple years. You deserved it! Hell, Dean deserved it more than you. He had been fighting longer than you ever had.
Dean and you crossed paths six years ago during a demon hunt. It really was your hunt and you wouldn’t want to admit it, but you really weren’t doing too hot. You were extremely lucky the Winchester’s stumbled across your hunt when they did. If it weren’t for them you’d probably be some demon's meat suit or doing the conga in hell with the devil himself. That was until you learned of where the devil really was a few years later.
You and Dean rarely got along over the first few years. The two of you always butted heads and argued during most hunts. It annoyed Sam so much that he actually told the two of you “Sleep together already! I can’t take the sexual tension and the bickering any longer.”
It didn’t take longer after that for Dean to grab your face and kiss you.
“Are you done back there?” You tried to twist a bit but a hand gently pushed you back into place.
“Nope,” Dean enunciated the word. “Almost. This is going to look epic though.”
“Doesn’t need to be the Sistine Chapel,” You buried your face back into the pillow.
Dean gasped. “Excuse me? Your back deserves a painting better than the Sistine Chapel. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t give you the best?”
You chuckled and mumbled something into the pillow.
Once Dean was finished, he reached for his phone and took a picture of it. “There we go,” you heard the smile in his voice. “Now that’s what I like to call the Sistine Back. Here, take a look.”
You lifted your head to see Dean lay on his side next to you. A huge smile painted his face as he showed the screen of his phone to you. What you saw, had you laughing uncontrollably. “Oh, Dean,” you breathed in between laughs. “This is better than the Sistine Chapel. I love it!”
Dean’s face lit up so bright, it could have brightened up the dimly lit room. “Yeah? Maybe I should get this printed out big enough to fit the ceiling in here.”
You shook your head as laughter took over your body once again. “Oh, God, yes! We can stare at the hamburger and apple pie every night we have sex.”
“Yeah,” Dean pushed you onto your back, getting the body paints onto the sheets under you. He plants a gentle kiss to the base of your neck, making you shiver through your entire body. Dean began to kiss down your body until he got to your belly. He looked up at you with those bright green eyes. Instead of slinking down further, he crept back up and hovered over you. Those eyes seemed to stare right into your soul. This man has shown you more love than any other man, including your father, has ever shown you. “I love you, don’t you ever forget that.”
“Never,” you reached up, wrapped your arms around his necK and pulled him to your lips. “I have a surprise for you.” Twisted to the side and pulled a piece of paper out of the side table drawer and handed it to him. You watched as his face lit up and looked between the paper and your face.
“A pie festival?” The excitement was clear as day in his voice. “Oh, Sweetheart, we are so going to this thing. The three of us. A huge family road trip.”
And that’s what you all did.
It was the best trip you all had. Dean tried every single pie he could get his hands on. You and Sam watched as he ate each slice. Looking like he was in heaven with each bite he took. It made you happy to see him so at peace not worrying about anything. There’s no end of the world evil to take care of. There hadn’t been for awhile.
LIfe seemed to be normal.
“You gotta try this one,” Dean sat next to you with another big box full of piece samples. He gave you a fork and pushed a pie towards you. “Don’t give it that look. It’s a honey apple pie with a tad bit of rosemary. So much sweeter than normal apple pie.” You took a small bite and Dean was right. It was sweeter.
“Not going to lie, that was pretty good,” you went for another bite.
“So, guys, get this,” Sam sat down with a newspaper in hand. Can’t be a fun trip unless Sam had his paper to look at. “There was a kidnapping last night. Father murdered and the mother’s tongue cut out. Both kids are missing.”
“Okay, doesn’t sound like our kind of thing,” you reach for the paper. “Maybe leave it to the local PD?” Suddenly, Dean took the paper from your hands and stared at the picture to the article of the tragic story.
“I’ve seen this before,” he mumbled. “Do we still have Dad’s journal?”
“Yeah, why?” Sam asked.
“I think I’ve seen these masks before.”
And Dean. Once he found the drawing John Winchester drew years ago, they matched the ones in the paper. You guys were looking at a pair of masked vamps and you guys were pretty much the closest hunters to take care of it.
“It’s one little hunt,” Dean shrugged as he checked out the weapons in the trunk. “Why don’t we take care of it and then head on home.”
It didn’t take long for you guys to locate the missing children. They were being held in an old barn on the outskirts of town. There three of you, so it shouldn’t be too hard to fight a small nest of vamps. You guys have taken out larger nests in the past.
“Come on, just this once?” Dean had asked. You peaked your head around the trunk and saw Dean holding up ninja stars with a huge smile on his face. Sam on the other hand just stared at him and shook his head.
“Not this time, man.”
Dean put the stars away while mumblings about how Sam was no fun. You smiled and patted him on the back and told him that there will be another time to use them. Dean gumbled some more and you had to remind him that you book a separate motel room away from Sam and that you brought some fun toys.
Even his favorite one to use on you.
Getting into the barn was too easy. Sam and Dean fought the two vamps that jumped out, making it easier for you to grab the two kids and get them to the impala. Once you strapped them in, you were making your way towards the driver side, you were tackled by one of the vamps.
The two of you wrestled in the dirt until you were able to break away and grab hold of your machete. You get to your feet and are tackled again, this time the vamp pins you firmly to the ground. The vamp removed his mask and bit down onto your neck, making you cry out. When the vamp pulled back, you took that small opening to headbutt him and kick in in the groin. You rolled away and quickly stood up and swung your machete. The vamp's head rolled onto the ground. You looked up and saw the terrified look on the children’s face.
“Hey, it’s okay,” you told them when you opened their door. You pulled the blankets over them and gave them some water and the sandwiches you made. “Drink and eat, we’ll get you home soon.” You heard it go quiet in the barn. It was too quiet and something in you told you something wasn’t right. “Hang on tight,” you closed the door and ran inside the barn.
What you saw, it almost knocked the wind out of you. There, Dean’s back was pressed firmly against a wooden pillar with a pained expression on his face. You ran up to him and looked at the damage and felt the tears fall as your heart begin to break.
Dean wasn’t going to come back from this.
“Dean,” you whispered as you met his eyes.
“I know, sweetheart,” He winced as he spoke. You saw his breathing get deeper and more shallow. “I love you. Don’t you forget that when you find someone else.” You squeezed your eyes shut because there was nothing you can do or say that will change the outcome of this. You felt Dean’s hand on your face pulling you towards his lips.
This kiss wasn’t like past kisses. It was firm and passionate and slow. He wanted you to remember this kiss for years to come. “Until we meet again,” Dean whispered, pressing his forehead to yours.
“Take care of her, Sam,” Dean added.
Everything that followed after that, felt like a dream. Your body felt heavy as you drove the kids to the nearest police station with some story about how you found them. The man that you loved, the man who you spent many nights talking about some kind of future, that man was now gone.
When you got back to the barn, the sun was just beginning to rise. You saw Sam sitting next to a covered up heap and the realization, again, hit you hard. The cover heap was Dean’s body. You stopped the impala and got out. Sam looked up at you with red eyes. You knew he had been crying hard. Probably as hard as you had. Sam got up and effortlessly picked up Dean and placed him in the back seat.
The whole way back to the bunker, neither of you spoke. You just took turns crying and driving. Stopping on the side of the road and just letting the other scream out in whatever pain the two of you had left in your bodies.
Back at the bunker, the two of you worked and got a pyre ready. When it was ready, you watched as Sam carried his big brother's body and gently placed it on the wooden display. You stood, with Miracle standing next to you. She had been whimpering off and on. She knew Dean was up there. You knelt down and let her nuzzle you while you let some more tears fall. Miracle was all you had left of Dean now.
Sam had some trouble lighting the pyre so you went up and helped it light it. Soon, the pyre and Dean were on fire. Then the two of you stared at it until it was nothing but ash.
***
You sat in Jody’s spare room while Miracle laid at your feet. You still wished all of this were a dream because neither you nor Sam, could adjust to the new reality that Dean was gone. So the two of you packed up what you could and left the bunker.
You guys drove until you were on Jody’s doorstep at midnight. She knew something was wrong when she looked deeply into your faces and asked where Dean was. When she saw the tears in your guys eyes, her whole face fell. She pulled the two of you into the tightest hug and held on tightly as the three of you cried silently.
A gentle knock on your door startled you. You got up and answered the door and saw Sam standing there. He was dressed in fresh clothes holding two cups of coffee.
“Are you, uh, doing okay?” Sam asked as you took the coffee from him. “I know it’s a stupid question but…”
You gave a pained smile, “I know I’ll be okay, but I feel like I won’t be okay. I’ve tried praying to Jack but I’m pretty sure he’s busy fixing Heaven.” You recount the hours you cried out to Jack about the loss of Dean. You cried about how you wanted him back. You cried about how you were supposed to move on from an epic love like that. You cried about how you just missed him and needed him to make it better.
“Same here,” Sam ran his hands through his hair. “I’m going to go look at places, apartments, that we can share and see what kind of jobs we can get. Do you want to come along?”
You took a deep breath and looked at the ground. “Not today, maybe tomorrow. I really want to spend time alone and process these last couple days.”
“Okay, no worries,” Sam nodded his head. “I’ll see you when I come back.”
“Okay.”
You waited until Sam had been gone for an hour to pack your bags again and head down stairs. You were in the process of opening the door when you heard someone behind you. Turning around you saw Jody standing in the entryway with you. She didn’t say anything, she just pulled a pair of keys out of the bowl next to her and handed them to you.
“Call me when you're safe,” she placed a hand on your face and gave you a smile. “I can’t bear to lose another kid.” A few tears slipped down her cheek.
Agreeing to call her, you slipped out the door and to the car Jody let you use. You got in and made sure Miracle was settled in the passenger seat. Then you were on your way out of town. You weren’t sure where you would go but you knew you needed to get far away from everything.
You needed to start fresh somewhere.
***
Years have passed and you’ve found that the pain of losing Dean has lessened. You’re able to have random memories of him without crying or hours and days on end. You were able to wake up without feeling like there was a hole on your chest. You were finally able to tell Sam why you ran after you were states away. You promised him it would be for a bit and that you’ll contact him.
Sadly, that day never came.
Two months after losing Dean you began to feel sick. You weren’t sure if it was the stress of losing Dean or starting a new life or both. So, off you went to the doctors and there you sat on the papery bed feeling like you were hit by a truck. The words that the doctor told you, they echoed around in your head.
“And the father?” the words were almost like a whisper in your already loud and spinning head.
“What?” you shook your head.
“That father?” the doctor repeated. “What do you know about the father?”
You took a deep breath and looked at the ground. “Um, he’s not in the picture.” Your voice had been quiet. Your heart felt like it had been breaking all over again. Part of you couldn’t believe this was happening. Part of you believed it, Dean and you were never really safe when it came to sex.
“One night stand? We do have options,” the doctor began to say.
“No no,” you shook your head. “The father, he’s um...he passed away.” You choked on the words. Hearing it out loud, made his death all the more real.
“My apologies,” The doctor whispered.
You took the pamphlets and walked out of the doctors. You didn’t know what you would do. This was all so new and all so painful at the same time. Dean was supposed to be here with you whenever this happened. In the end, you chose to keep the baby. You called Jody and Donna and told them, making them both promise not to tell Sam.
Over the years, you heard about Sam through Donna and Jody. He got married and had a kid of his own. You wanted to reach out but at this point it had been years and the two of you had settled into non hunting life. It wouldn’t be fair to disrupt it.
As more years passed, you saw Lyla become more and more like her father. She had his green eyes and his smile. She was smart and would get her hands on just about anything and that made you wonder, where did she get that from. Smart brains ran on both sides. Maybe something from Sam or something from your father. She loved pie just as much as Dean, and you’d take her to the pie festival every year.
As Lyla grew, she asked about Dean from time to time and you told her what you could. You also told her that when she turned into an adult you would tell her more, that telling her while she was young and child wouldn’t be safe or wise. In the meantime, you told her all the things asked about.
“What was Daddy’s favorite food?”
“What did Daddy like to do for fun?”
“What was Daddy’s favorite color?”
“Did Daddy have a favorite movie?”
The questions were endless, but you loved to answer them. Then one day, Lyla came up to you one morning, her dark hair looking like a bird's nest. Her face was beaming with happiness.
“Mommy,” Lyla’s voice was an octave higher. “Did you know, Daddy is in Heaven?”
You almost choked on your coffee. “What, Sweetie?”
“Daddy, he’s in Heaven. An angel told me,” she walked off and grabbed her stuffed chicken, one that she named Chickie Meow Meow, and hugged it tightly.
“What angel?” you asked. You got up and began to check all your warding, the ones that kept the bad creatures out. Everything seemed to be in place, even that salt that still blended in with your window panels. Then you checked to see if Lyla still wore the anti-possesion charm necklace you had made for her. She still did. “What did the angel look like?”
“He wore a funny brown jacket,” she answered. “He said his name was Cas. He wanted me to tell you that Daddy is fine. That they are looking over us.” You pulled Lyla into a hug and let some tears fall.
***
You walked into that old abandoned barn. You had left Lyla with Jody for the weekend. You sat down and placed all that you needed to summon Cas. You didn’t want to pray, you knew Cas all too well, he probably wouldn’t show up. But if you summoned him, you knew he had no choice but to come and see you. You lit the match and dropped it into the bowl and waited.
“Y/N” The deep, rough voice said your name.
You turned to see Cas standing there. In the same thing that he had been taken away in. But it was cleaner. “How are you alive?” you asked outright.
“Jack, he brought me back,” Cas took a few steps closer to you. “You know you could have prayed and I would have come.”
“But would you?” you gave the angel a smirk and raised your eyebrows.
“I did it for Lyla,” Cas looked into your eyes. “She prayed about Dean and wanted to know if he was in Heaven. I thought it best that it was me to come to her.”
You looked down, you couldn’t bear to look into the angel's blue eyes. You always assumed things and that always backfired and kicked you in the ass. “Then why didn’t you come to me when I cried out to you or to Jack?”
“I did,” Cas closed the distance and placed a hand under your chin and lifted your face to meet his eyes. “Each night that you cried yourself to sleep, I was there sitting at the foot of your bed. Each night that you drank yourself to sleep, before you found out you were pregnant, I sat there and rubbed your back the way Dean told me too. Then when you were in that delivery room all by yourself, I was there to make sure things went smoothly. Then when you were sleeping, I memorized everything there was about Lyla. I have watched over the two of you these last nine years. Dean would be so proud of how far you have come.”
You stood there and cried silently as Cas spoke. “Cas,” you whispered, wiping the tears from your face. “I don’t know what to say.”
“I can’t be on Earth as much, Jack and I are still fixing Heaven but I can tell you that Dean is waiting for you.” Cas moved his hand to your shoulder. “I have to go, but I was told to tell you, I love you by Dean.”
Then you were alone.
***
Twelve year passed and you’re helping Lyla with a college event. She had just turned twenty-one and was nearly done with her bachelor degree. At this point, she knew all that there was to Dean. She knew he was a hunter, that he saved the world countless times, that he had some faults, and so on.
Lyla knew of what goes bump in the night. She’s read every note and the journal you kept during the time you had been hunting. When she asked if Dean kept one, you had told her that he didn’t. That he used his fathers and you weren’t sure where that ended up. Lyla even went above and got whatever protection tattoos down her spine.
So, while you’re helping Lyla you had a boy, about nineteen years old come up to the booth and look around. He looked familiar to you. He wore a long sleeve flannel, that was probably why. Sam and Dean always wore flannel. That was probably why and it made you miss the younger Winchester. You should have kept in contact with him or at least told him of Lyla.
“Y/N?” A familiar voice called out to you.
You turned around and your heart just about fell from your chest. There standing with grey hair, was Sam Winchester. He hadn’t changed too much except for the hair and the fact that he wore glasses. He still looked like the Sam Winchester you knew all those years ago.
“Sam?” You crossed your arms.
“The one and only,” he smiled. “What are you doing here?”
Before you could answer, Lyla came up to you. “Mom, we’re going to need some more pamphlets, we’re just about out.” You turned to Lyla who saw Sam. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“It’s okay, take my keys and you can go print some out at the UPS down the street,” You motioned to your bag.
After Lyla had left you turned back to Sam who had watched her the whole time. It was like he knew. “So, you have a kid too?” You heard the tone in his voice. Lyla looked so much like Dean these days, you knew someone from your past was bound to notice. Sam most of all.
“Yeah,” you answer quietly. “Her name’s Lyla.”
“Cool, that’s great you found someone to populate the Earth with,” Sam gestured towards you. That tone he held was still there. The look in his eyes was the very same one he used on you when he called you out on yours and Dean’s sexual tension.
“You know, don’t you?” you lowered your arms.
“She looks a lot like Dean,” Sam whispered. “Is that why you ran? Is that why I never heard from you?” You stared at Sam and tried to hold back your emotions. “Dean’s final words were to take care of you. I failed at that when you ran.”
“You failed when you didn’t come and look for me,” you lashed out. “I thought you would have looked for me despite everything I told you. You should have found me. Then I find out through Jody your married and have a kid, I thought it best not to mess up what you got for yourself.”
Sam stared at you and nodded. “I should have and I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry, too,” you whispered and looked around. The boy in the flannel was still there. Then it hit you. “Is that?”
“My son,” Sam’s face lit up brighter than you’ve ever seen it. “His name is Dean.”
For the next five years you kept in touch with Sam. You guys spent holidays and birthdays with each other. That was, until you got sick and the doctors couldn’t help you. So, in your hospital room, Sam sat beside you. He wasn’t doing too well either, but he held your hand and smiled at you.
“Tell Dean I said hi,” were the last words you heard.
***
When your eyes opened again, you were sitting on a bench. Around you was a field of just plain old grass and a few trees. You knew this place all too well. You stood and realized you were back in your younger body. Having that kind of movement again, it was amazing. You began to walk around, feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. It all felt nice and it made you smile.
“Hey, Sweetheart.”
You spun around at the familiar sound. There he stood, looking handsome as ever in his jacket and leaning against the Impala with that heartwarming smile. “Dean,” you said his name like he hadn’t been dead for almost three decades.
Dean pushed himself off the impala and closed the distance between the two of you. He placed a hand on your cheek and brushed his calloused thumb over it. You closed your eyes and took in the touch. “You know, time is different up here. It doesn’t feel like it’s been twenty-six years.” Then he pressed his lips to yours and the feel almost knocked you off your feet.
“Are we allowed to kiss in Heaven?” you pulled away from him.
“I don’t think Jack minds,” Dean smiled and gathered you into his arms and pressed his lips more firmly to his. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pressed yourself against him. “Wanna go for a ride?” He asked when he pulled away.
“Sure, I missed this beauty.” You ran your hand along the impala and just as you were about to get in, Dean staring at you caught your eye. “What?”
“Cas says you had a baby,” Dean crossed his arms on top of the hood. “I have to ask…”
You smiled at him and leaned on the hood as well. “She’s yours and she’s incredible. Loves pie just like her daddy. I thought Cas would’ve told you.”
“Time moves differently up here,” Dean repeated what he said earlier. “What’s her name?”
“Lyla,” you smiled. “Lyla Winchester.”
“I wish I got to know her,” Dean spoke softly.
“You will,” you got into the passenger side. “I can tell you all you want about her.”
Dean followed you into the impala. “I don’t have to worry about some random dude coming here and claiming you as his wife or something?”
“Nope,” You sat back. “Now drive or I’ll start walking.”
“Yes, ma’am.”

monster [ professor!lupin x hufflepuff!reader]
1/?
intro
y/n l/n, a spectacularly odd, and scared witch, with gifted abilities, is now orphaned upon the murder of her Mother and Father, and has come to live with her Godfather, Rubeus Hagrid. Despite her lack of knowledge, and never being properly trained, Dumbledore feels as though she has a right to be taught, just the same as anyone else/
pairing : professor! lupin x hufflepuff!reader
warnings: age gap, trauma, Orphaned Reader, female pronouns, insinuation of death and violence, student/teacher relationship.
- Reader is written as 18 in the timeline, and isn’t underage, there for there’s no reason to get dramatic about the pairing. There is also no insinuation of s*xual relations (only romantic) as I myself am asexual, and that would be taking this type of pairing a bit too far. Secondly, timeline is a little confusing, the reader is infact taking year 3 classes, and you will find out why as you read forward. Anyway, if you don’t enjoy, the content, simply ignore it.
( And if you would like a second part, request. request. request.)
-
The sky begins to darken above as you and Hagrid walked back to the castle grounds from Hogsmeade Village. The air cooling around you, with a whisk of the autumn wind. Your Godfather, leading you through the castle grounds, and around the lake, to where your new home would be. It’s painfully quiet, as the students wouldn’t arrive until tomorrow, not something that neither of you particularly enjoy. The sound of silence.
“ Yer new home is right around ere” He points as you approach to a painfully small hut. It’s made of old stone, it looks warned down, almost ancient, as if it was going to fall apart. You’re surprised at the sight, it looking from the outside to be too small for a man of your Godfathers size. Though this was Hogwarts, anything was seemingly possible. “It’s lovely.” You halfly lie, only thankful to have a home to call your own, after everything that’s happened, you still had somewhere to go, only some dream to have just as much, if not less than that.
It had been years since you had been on these grounds and seen your Godfather. Years since you were meant to go to Hogwarts, and fulfill your magical destiny, but everything had been ruined. Your family gone, your childhood taken away, along with most of your happiest memories.
He opens the wooden door, revealing a cozy home within. You know you had been here before, long ago, but the memory was gone, any recollection of it belongs to the overwhelming sadness deep within you, the memories of what happened to your parents holding a tight grip around your heart. You stood still within the doorway as Hagrid, walked inside. He turned back around, halting the haunting thoughts.
“ Are yeh comin’ in? Yer lettin’ in a draft!” And with that, your new life began.
-
“ So I’m going to be the first there?” You questioned, gathering all you needed, to stay at the dorms. Despite having Hagrid’s to live at, he and Dumbledore suggested it would be useful to stay within a dorm, to gather the real experience of Hogwarts. But you thought it to be a way around telling anybody you were in fact Hagrid’s God Daughter, perhaps they didn’t want anybody thinking oddly of you.
“ Yeh, but it won’t be long before there ere” You sighed, walking among the front doors.
Only time could tell when they would be here, and when you would have to be sorted. Flashbacks to your Father and Mother crossed your mind, the two of them being an odd pair of lovers at that, considering the houses they had been sorted into.
Your Mother was a cunning Slytherin, filled with power and a strive for greatness, though despite her temperament, she was the nicest woman some had ever met, she was unnaturally kind for such a reputation, but only to those whom she really could trust, one of the people being your Father. Your Father was just as filled with power as she, only he was more selfless, more brave. A Gryffindor in his truest right. Despite their differences, and the wedge between them of Pureblood and Muggleborn magic, they seemed to defy all odds when together. Truly a mystery.
-
The great hall was huge, candles floating amongst the numerous house tables, all filled with empty cutlery and plates. Your Father had spoken of this moment numerous of times, what it would look like, how it would happen. But now that you were here, the spark of what once was hope and magic was washed out, dimming the more you thought of it. You couldn’t picture your Father’s smile anymore when thinking of him talking with so much joy, only flashes of horrendous memories, that of a wooded forest, and blood, lots of blood, pooling around your feet.
You felt a firm hand on your back, causing you to jump to turn around, greeted with the familiar face of Dumbledore, whom had been the person to bring you here, from your parents home. You smiled, warmly at the wise and kind man in front of you, “Excited?” He asked, as the other Professors walked along the middle, going to grab their respective seats before the sorting ceremony and feast. “ Excited, but more nervous if anything Headmaster. “ You chew on the inside of your cheek. You would probably be the only Seventh year to be sorted, the only Seventh year to not be in any of the same classes as the rest of your year. It was all so humiliating, and yet you still had some hope, an ounce of faith and true gratitude that you were even aloud among the school.
“ Nothing to be scared of dear y/n. This is the right place for you.” You couldn’t help to hold your trust within his voice, as you watched him give you another warm smile, before heading to the front table, joining the rest of the staff.
You stood at the back of the room, awaiting for the first years to arrive last. Not wanting to walk with them, too scared you’d be judged and ridiculed for being the oldest to be sorted. Your parents had bravery, so much of it to spare, and yet you didn’t feel an ounce of bravery, perhaps ever. You weren’t brave now, and you weren’t brave when they had been killed. Perhaps the sorting hat wouldn’t know what to do with you and they would have to throw you out, you thought. You weren’t brave or cunning like your Mother and Father, nor smart like a Ravenclaw. Perhaps a Hufflepuff, but you weren’t overjoyed with happiness, always smiling at everybody either. You felt like you were nothing. The girl who had to sit there, and watch the two people she loved the most die, and just let them, out of fear. Why had you been accepted into Hogwarts if you were simply;
nothing.
-
As everybody settled in to The Great Hall, Dumbledore stood above everyone within the room. Describing how the Sorting Hat would work, and that when You had been sorted, to go to your assigned table.
“ Now!” He spoke loudly, “ Before we begin with the first years. We have a certain Seventh Year who needs sorting! y/n y/l/n?!” He called out for you, eyes across the hall, looking for whom he must be talking to. He called again and before you could process it fully, you began walking up to the front, and through the crowd of new students.
You sat down with hesitation within the chair, eyes closed as you did so, too scared to look into the eyes of your peers. The hat was lowered upon your head gently. It began to speak to you, as if it had been a person, knowing every little detail within your head.
“ Interesting, very interesting. You’re a bit confusing aye? Your Mother was a Slytherin, correct? Your Father though.,,.he was a Gryffindor? What an odd pairing.. hmmm... But you... you don’t have these qualities- you’re different. A bit odd, not quite academic, but knowledge lies within your heart. There’s something strong about you- You’re loyal, patient, un-judgemental- you seek no power, only a sense of justice, and of love.. Yes I see it now... HUFFLEPUFF!!!”
In that moment you couldn’t help but wear a small smile, and open your eyes, watching as the Hufflepuff table greated you with graceful, happy cheers.
-
After the sorting, and after everyone had sat within their respective seats, Dumbledore rose once again to the front, before the feast was to begin.
“Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now, I'd like to say a few words... before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin....who's kindly consented to fill the post... of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, Professor.”
A Professor stood to his feet humbly, barely standing straight, almost being overwhelmed with the clapping the was brought by the mentioning of him. You couldn’t help but to notice, the long scars amongst his face, some of them quite fresh, some scarred so deep, that they would never leave. You couldn’t help but think to yourself whom had hurt him, or specifically what. If he knew anything about The Dark Arts, he must have encountered dangerous things quite often.
He softly bowed, his hands clasped together, before sitting back down within his seat. Your eyes rarely left where he had sat, still pondering within thought.

Biden’s Afghanistan plan a plus to some vets (AP) Patrick Proctor Brown says the war in Afghanistan was lost within a year of its start. The suburban Milwaukee lawyer, who was an infantry captain in Iraq, said the trillions of dollars spent and the thousands of lives lost, including a lieutenant he trained with, make it “a tragedy.” “And the Taliban will be back in power in a year,” said Brown, 35, who also studied diplomacy at Norwich, a military university in Vermont. “It’s insane.” Brown supports President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, and by voting for the Democrat, he represents a subtle but potent shift in the voting behavior of some in the military. Voters who served in the military have long leaned toward Republicans. But there are signs that Biden may have cut into that advantage. “This president has got to end these wars,” said Jon Soltz, a former Army tank captain who formed the Democratic-leaning VoteVets.org in 2006. “He’s got to fulfill some of these promises. There’s a war-weariness in the military.”
Riot declared after windows smashed in Portland protests (AP) Police in Portland, Oregon, declared a riot Friday night after authorities said protesters smashed windows and burglarized businesses during demonstrations that started earlier in the day after police fatally shot a man while responding to reports of a person with a gun. The vandalism downtown came after the Friday morning police shooting but also was part of vigils and demonstrations already planned for the night in the name of people killed in other police shootings nationwide. They include 13-year-old Adam Toledo of Chicago and Daunte Wright, a Black man in a Minneapolis suburb. Deputy Police Chief Chris Davis told reporters earlier in the day that a white man in his 30s was shot and killed by police, who opened fire with a gun and weapons that fire non-lethal projectiles. A witness who spoke to reporters at the scene said the man, who had removed his shirt and was blocking an intersection, appeared to be in a mental health crisis.
Castro era in Cuba to end as Raul confirms he’s retiring (Reuters) Raul Castro confirmed he was handing over the leadership of the Cuban Communist Party to a younger generation at its congress that kicked off on Friday, ending six decades of rule by himself and older brother Fidel. In a speech opening the four-day event, Castro, 89, said the new leadership would be party loyalists with decades of experience working their way up the ranks and were “full of passion and anti-imperialist spirit.” The new generation of leaders, which did not forge itself through rebellion, has no easy task. The transition comes as Cuba faces the worst economic crisis since the collapse of former benefactor the Soviet Union, while there are signs of growing frustration, especially among younger Cubans. A tightening of the decades-old U.S. trade embargo and the coronavirus pandemic have exacerbated a liquidity crisis in Cuba’s ailing centrally planned economy. Shortages of even basic goods mean Cubans spend hours lining up to buy groceries.
Argentina closes schools, imposes curfew in Buenos Aires as COVID-19 cases spike (Reuters) Argentina’s government will tighten pandemic restrictions in and around the capital Buenos Aires to rein in a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases, including shutting schools and imposing a curfew from 8pm to limit social activity. President Alberto Fernández, 62, given his all-clear earlier in the day after he was infected with the virus, said the South American country needed to “gain time” in the fight against COVID-19 after daily cases hit a record this week. The measures will see schools closed in Greater Buenos Aires from Monday, and the suspension of indoor sports, recreational, religious and cultural activities until April 30.
The queen says goodbye to Philip, continues her reign alone (AP) Sitting by herself at the funeral of Prince Philip on Saturday, Queen Elizabeth cut a regal, but solitary figure: still the monarch, but now alone. The queen sat apart from family members at the simple but somber ceremony in accordance with strict social distancing rules during the coronavirus pandemic. But if the ceremony had been for anyone else, at her side would have been her husband of 73 years, who gave a lifetime of service to the crown. The monarch’s four children and eight grandchildren sat in small groups nearby, during a stripped-back service at Windsor Castle that made their loss somehow more personal for people who often live their lives in public. The service was quiet and without excessive pageantry. Philip was deeply involved in planning the ceremony. At his request, there was no sermon. There were also no eulogies or readings, in keeping with royal tradition. Former Bishop of London Richard Chartres, who knew Philip well, said the 50-minute service reflected the preferences of the prince, who was a man of faith but liked things to be succinct. “He was at home with broad church, high church and low church, but what he really liked was short church,” Chartres told the BBC.
Philip’s legacy lives in chef who traded prison for kitchen LONDON (AP)—Jon Watts was 18 years old when he woke up in a prison cell and decided he had to change. He enrolled in every course he could find, from mathematics to business. But he says it was a program founded by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, that gave him a “passion for food” and a career as a chef when he got out of prison 3 1/2 years later. “I was a young boy in prison,” Watts, now 32, told The Associated Press. “It helped mold me to be what I like to think is a good person, and it set me up to believe in myself, to believe that I can achieve things.” After Philip’s death last week at age 99, politicians and world leaders rushed to eulogize his lifetime of service to his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, and to the British nation. For many people across the country, though, his greatest contribution was the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, a program which seeks to give young people the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Participants in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award must complete volunteer work, improve their physical fitness, learn new skills, and go on expeditions to earn each of three progressively more difficult levels of achievement—bronze, silver and gold. More than 6.7 million people between the ages of 14 and 24 have taken part in the U.K., and the program has expanded to 130 countries since Philip founded it in 1956.
A Bitter Family Feud Dominates the Race to Replace Merkel (NYT) With less than six months to go before Germans cast their ballots for a new chancellor, the political vacuum Angela Merkel leaves behind after 16 years of consensus-oriented leadership is coming more sharply into focus. A rare and rancorous power struggle has gripped Germany’s conservatives this week as two rivals vie to replace her, threatening to further hobble her Christian Democratic Union, which is already sliding in the polls. Normally, Armin Laschet, 60, who was elected in January to lead the party, would almost assuredly be the heir apparent to Ms. Merkel. Instead, he finds himself unexpectedly pitted against his biggest rival, Markus Söder, the more popular head of a smaller, Bavaria-only party, the Christian Social Union, in a kind of conservative family feud. Experts and party members alike are calling for the dispute to be resolved within the coming days, as it risks damaging the reputation of the two conservative parties, jointly referred to as the Union. Because the two parties operate as one on the national stage, they must choose one candidate for chancellor.
Russia to expel 10 US diplomats in response to Biden actions (AP) On Thursday, the Biden administration announced sanctions on Russia for interfering in the 2020 U.S. presidential election and involvement in the SolarWind hack of federal agencies—activities Moscow has denied. The U.S. ordered 10 Russian diplomats expelled, targeted dozens of companies and people, and imposed new curbs on Russia’s ability to borrow money. Russia responded by saying it would expel 10 U.S. diplomats and take other retaliatory moves in a tense showdown with Washington. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said Moscow will move to shut down those U.S. nongovernment organizations that remain in Russia to end what he described as their meddling in Russia’s politics. The top Russian diplomat said the Kremlin suggested that U.S. Ambassador John Sullivan follow the example of his Russian counterpart and head home for consultations. Russia will also deny the U.S. Embassy the possibility of hiring personnel from Russia and third countries as support staff, limit visits by U.S. diplomats serving short-term stints at the embassy, and tighten requirements for U.S. diplomats’ travel in the country.
Russia’s surveillance state (Washington Post) Russian authorities are ramping up the use of facial recognition technology to track opposition protesters to their homes and arrest them—a powerful new Kremlin tool to crush opposition. But when state security agents are suspected of murders or attacks on journalists and opposition activists, surveillance cameras have at times been switched off or “malfunction.” And the system is so leaky that surveillance data on individuals can be bought for a small sum on Russia’s notorious black market in data, along with all kinds of other personal information. There is even a name for the clandestine cyber-bazaar: probiv. China leads the world in rolling out a vast network of facial recognition technology, including a system to track and repress its Uyghur minority. But Putin’s Russia is racing to catch up. Russian firms such as NtechLab produce some of the world’s most sophisticated facial recognition software as authorities grapple with counterpunches by the opposition, including using social media to expose Russia’s kleptocracy such as extravagances by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s political allies. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the facial recognition system—rolled out in Moscow en masse in January 2020 and expanded to at least 10 other Russian cities—is now used in 70 percent of crime investigations. Moscow has more than 189,000 cameras with facial recognition capabilities, as well as more than 12,300 on subway cars in Moscow’s Metro.
Health care: The medical cost crisis will outlast COVID (The Week) Few would disagree that “much-reviled Big Pharma pulled off one of the great achievements in medical history,” said Geoff Colvin at Fortune—quickly developing multiple effective COVID-19 vaccines. Hospital workers, too, “have been heroes in the truest sense” in the fight against the pandemic. These are not groups America “wants to punish” right now. But something has to give. A system of “perverse incentives,” from drug distribution to insurance rebates, has made health-care costs “maddeningly untamable.” In the six years since the Affordable Care Act was passed, health-care spending per capita has increased faster than it did in the six years prior. Three-quarters of Americans say that the quality of the health care they get isn’t worth what they are paying for it. Big Hospitals and Big Pharma are “at each other’s throats” over who is to blame, but the trend in costs “isn’t about to reverse.” Poorer hospitals have “limped through the year,” straining under the costs of COVID, said Jordan Rau and Christine Spolar at Kaiser Health News, but many wealthier ones have done just fine. The U.S. has budgeted $178 billion in aid for health-care providers, and even profitable hospitals have gotten help. After receiving $454 million in federal aid, Baylor, the biggest nonprofit hospital system in Texas, “accumulated an $815 million surplus, $20 million more than it had in 2019.” Despite this, hospitals have devised ways to pass on costs, said Sarah Kliff at The New York Times. Lenox Hill, one of the oldest and best-known hospitals in New York City, has “repeatedly billed patients more than $3,000 for the routine nasal swab test” for COVID, “about 30 times the test’s typical cost.” The hospital “advertised its COVID-19 testing on a large blue-and-white banner,” then charged each visit as an emergency room procedure. Federal legislation mandated that coronavirus testing be free for patients. “But eventually, American patients bear the costs in the form of higher insurance premiums.”

ZAIN had been surprised that his father was in town and called him to come over for dinner with the boys. While he was a loving father, there was some coldness between the pair. He saw the way he interacted with his sons, and it was just different between them. Like his father, he spoiled his children though both of them seemed to lack the burning desire to consume everything that was in their path. Neither men spoke about it, but there was this unspoken knowledge that they both blamed ZAIN for his mother’s death. That was why his father spent most of his time out of the country, filming his films and producing them where he wanted. He owned the production company, all of the stocks and the master rights to every single film he produced and directed. The distance was intentional and ZAIN had always knew it. That’s why he was always at his uncle’s, they both understood he had committed his first murder while drawing his first breath of air.
Standing next to his father, ZAIN watched the boys with him. JAHAN was chasing ZION as fast as his little chubby legs would take him. Even as he fell, he would get back up and continue chasing him. ZION liked to say he wasn’t any fun but he seemed to be enjoying himself, which made the younger AUGUSTINE chuckle as he watched them. Though there was distance between them, he did love his father and he knew he loved him and he shared certain details with him. Though he knew his father knew everything, their love language was having private investigators trailing each other. It’s how ZAIN learned about GINA, QASIM’S young white girl that was sleeping with him in hopes of getting his money. ZAIN sent him the file he had gathered on her, not surprised when his father sent him one concerning details about some business he had going on with THE PINES, along with a few pictures of various women he had in his bedroom at the time. His father had more sense than him and kept his curtains drew at all times. “You know me and SAFIYA are trying for another one?” He would be surprised if he didn’t. He saw the smile that seemed to be reserved for his grandchildren, full of love and devoid of any pain, light up his face.
“I’m aware. It’ll be nice to have another little one running around here. Though, I do have to say, planning a child but not being with the mother...is this some millennial thing I don’t understand? Your mother drove me wild, but I did love her and being married to her.” It was rare for QASIM to mention his mother. It always made ZAIN feel a sting of guilt and this time was no different. He knew that ZAKIYAH was the only love of his father’s life. “I assumed you two have been doing this dance long enough that planning a child would come after some kind of commitment. Are you still sleeping with other women?”
“No, Dad, it’s not a millennial thing, people your age had whole families and didn’t get married except in the common law.”
“But are we commoners?”
“We’re AUGUSTINES.”
“Then my point remains.”
ZAIN rolled his eyes, earning an eyebrow lift as his father waited for him to answer his other inquiries. “There is some commitment, things are good right now. No, I’m not sleeping with anyone else. That’s something.”
“A ring is more, it’s not half a foot in while the other is still out” QASIM said, causing ZAIN to fold his arms over his chest. Before he said something smart, his father sighed. His hand came up to rest on his son’s shoulder. “Son, I’m tired. I’m not young anymore.” His father was about to be 65, and had always had the weight of the family on his shoulders since he was 18. His younger brothers were not as mature as he was and he had taken over when his father died when he was young. His grandmother died two weeks later of a broken heart. LOVE was insanely important and stressed, but nothing more than absolute LOYALTY. Despite any underlying resentments and tensions, ZAIN did look to his father for advice and valued his opinion over anyone else’s in the family. “It’s time you became the AUGUSTINE the family needs. You had almost ten extra years to get the playboy ways out of your system.” ZAIN was still quiet, he was better at processing when he was silent. Right now, he was wondering what scheme QASIM was up to.
To do that, it was best to give him the rope he needed to hang himself. “I’m retiring, going to spend the rest of my days spoiling my grandchildren, sleeping with women that are one third of my age and enjoying my last days on earth without being the responsible one. I’ve earned that.” They were still watching the boys and ZAIN still was refusing to speak, though his face said more than he could. He was surprised by the news of retirement, especially considering QASIM had just signed a major teen movie franchise and was slated to direct all 4 movies. He didn’t think this retirement was more than a stunt of sorts, but for what? “I’m leaving everything to you. The production company, the family industry, all the movie rights and master copies...everything that the AUGUSTINES own is yours ZAIN.” There was a catch, had to be.
Suddenly he was resentful that he was here with his children. His father squeezed his shoulder and they moved towards his outdoor bar. They took the same drink, cognac on the rocks and ZAIN fixed two of them, handing one to his father. “So it’s all mine, just like that? I hate when we beat around the bush. What do you need or want, Dad?”
“That attitude won’t win you the friends you need son. You have to work on that. Do you think I get the luxury of walking around with a chip on my shoulder the way you do? We both know you’re able to turn on the charm for pussy, I need you to learn how to translate it to building connections. The ones that come with this power are unstable, you won’t be able to pay them off with a few hundred thousand like you do everyone else. Money is powerful, but POWER is POWER and the table you’ll sit at as the HEAD of the AUGUSTINES? All they will want is your POWER. You might be able to kill them, but there’s nothing to stop the next person from coming for your throat. Eventually, you won’t be able to kill all your enemies.” His words reminded him about the talk he had with ZION about being tough. There was a lesson here in his words. He felt his dark eyes boring into his freckled complexion and the younger man nodded, letting him know he was hearing him.
“The second thing I need son, is you married. The image you paint is everything. Angels get away with murder because they look angelic. You look like Satan in the media. That won’t help your seat at the table, but a family man, a lawyer doing good for the people of ANGELUS, loving his adoring wife and raising a family while giving considerably to charities? That is an image people can rally behind, can root for and will fight to the death to defend, no matter who you have killed.” QASIM let the words hang between them, just as JAHAN caught his brother who had fallen in the grass and was laughing wildly as he was tackled.
“My choice is, naturally, SAFIYA, especially because of the unnecessary explaining of how you got a 16 year old pregnant to anyone else. I’ll accept RUBI but I do have 10 candidates in mind, various princesses who will accept both children, though a few want the baby mommas to disappear completely. You have a week to decide for yourself, otherwise I’ll organize a ball and invite them all to see who performs the best in front of the family.” ZAIN threw back his drink, pouring another one as the words washed over him. He was about to walk over to his sons, begin to rough house with them both as he finished his second double shot. As he began to move from his father’s embrace, QASIM squeezed his shoulder.
“I have one last...significantly important need from you. This envelope contains a problem you need to get rid of. Both of us know you’ve already spilled blood, so this should be no trouble, son and certainly have no resistance to hurting those of AUREUM. This might be more sport than it is honoring an old man’s request for you.” QASIM was a glorious bastard but ZAIN had respect for him and it. His father like to throw jabs about him spilling blood but how many times had it been for QASIM. He opened the file, a smirk on his face at the file.
“SOLIS would be gleeful to find out about this. Like uncle, like nephew in this case. Though, I’m surprised you allowed her two whole pregnancies and children before deciding to get rid of your problem. Looks like I’m not the only one charming pussy, Dad. I’ll get rid of your problem, you send the paperwork over to me to sign over the AUGUSTINE empire. Now, the burgers need to be flipped and I have two sons who I have to go flip over.” ZAIN handed him the file, he didn’t care about the details, he had the name and like other siblings who popped up over the years, he would be getting rid of them. After all, there was only room for him in his father’s life.

Monday: Reflection on the Thirty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Roman Catholic Proper 34 Revised Common Lectionary Proper 29
Complementary Hebrew Scripture from the Latter Prophets: Jeremiah 46:18-28
As I live, says the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts, one is coming like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea.
Pack your bags for exile, sheltered daughter Egypt! For Memphis shall become a waste, a ruin, without inhabitant. A beautiful heifer is Egypt— a gadfly from the north lights upon her. Even her mercenaries in her midst are like fatted calves; they too have turned and fled together, they did not stand; for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their punishment.
She makes a sound like a snake gliding away; for her enemies march in force, and come against her with axes, like those who fell trees. They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, though it is impenetrable, because they are more numerous than locusts; they are without number. Daughter Egypt shall be put to shame; she shall be handed over to a people from the north.
The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said: See, I am bringing punishment upon Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh and those who trust in him. I will hand them over to those who seek their life, to King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon and his officers. Afterward Egypt shall be inhabited as in the days of old, says the Lord.
But as for you, have no fear, my servant Jacob, and do not be dismayed, O Israel; for I am going to save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease, and no one shall make him afraid.
As for you, have no fear, my servant Jacob, says the Lord, for I am with you. I will make an end of all the nations among which I have banished you, but I will not make an end of you! I will chastise you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.
Semi-continuous Hebrew Scripture from the Latter Prophets: Jeremiah 30:1-17
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you. For the days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their ancestors and they shall take possession of it.
These are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah:
Thus says the Lord: We have heard a cry of panic, of terror, and no peace. Ask now, and see, can a man bear a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor? Why has every face turned pale? Alas! that day is so great there is none like it; it is a time of distress for Jacob; yet he shall be rescued from it.
On that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will break the yoke from off his neck, and I will burst his bonds, and strangers shall no more make a servant of him. But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
But as for you, have no fear, my servant Jacob, says the Lord, and do not be dismayed, O Israel; for I am going to save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease, and no one shall make him afraid. For I am with you, says the Lord, to save you; I will make an end of all the nations among which I scattered you, but of you I will not make an end. I will chastise you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.
For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable, your wound is grievous. There is no one to uphold your cause, no medicine for your wound, no healing for you. All your lovers have forgotten you; they care nothing for you; for I have dealt you the blow of an enemy, the punishment of a merciless foe, because your guilt is great, because your sins are so numerous. Why do you cry out over your hurt? Your pain is incurable. Because your guilt is great, because your sins are so numerous, I have done these things to you. Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your foes, everyone of them, shall go into captivity; those who plunder you shall be plundered, and all who prey on you I will make a prey. For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast: “It is Zion; no one cares for her!”
Complementary Psalm 24
The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it; for he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully. They will receive blessing from the Lord, and vindication from the God of their salvation. Such is the company of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up, O ancient doors! that the King of glory may come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up, O ancient doors! that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Semi-continuous Psalm 117
Praise the Lord, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples!¹ For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!
¹Paul quotes this verse in Romans 15:11, part of a passage that says the Gospel is for Jews and Gentiles alike
New Testament Lesson: Revelation 21:5-27
And the One who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also the One said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true;” and “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (TLCO)
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
And in the spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. It has the glory of God and a radiance like a very rare jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal. It has a great, high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates are inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of the Israelites; on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
The angel who talked to me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width; and he measured the city with his rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal. He also measured its wall, one hundred forty-four cubits by human measurement, which the angel was using. The wall is built of jasper, while the city is pure gold, clear as glass. The foundations of the wall of the city are adorned with every jewel; the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, each of the gates is a single pearl, and the street of the city is pure gold, transparent as glass.
I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. Its gates will never be shut by day—sand there will be no night there. People will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. But nothing unclean will enter it, nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Levi and his pack race through the woods, the alpha could feel his anxiety growing, his heart beat accelerating; they were getting closer and closer to Shiganshina as their horses ran faster by the second.
He jumped over a river, dodged a few branches here and there, and made sure that his horse was going a tiny bit faster than his normal speed.
The others watched as their alpha rode with intense speed, it’s not like they blamed him; for years Levi, has been patiently waiting for his mate to arrive, for a message from their Goddess to let him know that his mate was alive and ready to become his. When Levi first had his dream about a boy with skin that has been kissed by the sun and eyes as blue as the ocean they have been excited as well as ready to go and find him.
They all were in debt to Levi from saving them from a horrible fate and were honored to be a part of his pack as well as have the reputation of being the strongest as well as the deadliest pack in the world.
Considering the fact, that four of their wolves had unique abilities and were close to being killed before Levi saved them, their alpha helped them in more ways than one so of course they would do whatever they need to help him.
Sure they all wanted to stay at Trost and keep an eye on their mates but Levi needed them right now and they were going to help them as best as they could.
Levi would forever be grateful for having wolves like the people that were riding behind him in his pack. They were strong, brave, cunning, and above all loyal.
He could help but be proud of the pack that he has created, of the people that he consider family, especially after he lost his old one. Shaking his head and trying hard not to get suck into the past Levi rode faster, he could see the gates approaching however, the closer he got, the slower he became until he pull the reigns on his horse to stop him from going any closer.
The horse whined in protest before he settled down, Levi lifted his hand, signaling the rest of his pack to slow down as well.
Something wasn’t right, even though they were just a mile away from Shiganshina Levi felt like something was missing, actually now that he thought of it there was something missing.
“Where are the guards?” Jean asked as he rode up to stand next to Levi.
“Those were my thoughts as well,” Levi said as he looked around the area that was surrounding them, something wasn’t right.
“Be on your guard, I have a feeling that we are not alone,” he hopped off his horse and took a whiff trying to see if he could smell any scents that did not belong in the area.
The rest of his pack followed his lead as they each focus on their keen senses trying to see if there was anything out of the ordinary.
Levi’s eyes widen when he took in familiar scent of iron filling his nostrils.
“Blood,” he whispered, the rest of the pack noticed not only the heavy copper scent but they also heard the screams as well as the cries of civilians coming from the area.
Without thinking Levi made a run towards the village, ignoring the yells of his men Levi immediately shifted into his wolf knowing that he would get there faster if he was in his wolf form, standing on his two feet he took off towards Shiganshina at full speed; when he got there he saw a bunch of abnormal wolves attacking the villagers.
Levi recognized these wolves as the abnormal ones or better known as titans. They were the wolves who were feral and couldn’t exactly shift back to their human forms; they were more beast then they were man and had a habit of attacking anything or anyone, raping innocent omegas to increase their numbers, and eating their own whenever the food storage for them was low; right now Levi could see that they were attack the home of his future mate’s.
Growling Levi ran towards the nearest titan, grabbing it by the neck Levi pulled it back and punched in it’s snout.
The titan howled in pain, Levi than bit his jugular and ripped his throat out, he then turned and saw another one running up to him, before the titan had a chance to even lay a claw on him Levi swiped his claw against the titan’s chest making it howl in pain Levi then jam his fist through the creature’s skull killing it instantly.
Levi shook his hand trying to get rid of the creature’s brain and blood off his fist.
He heard growls from the distance and saw his pack not only fighting the titans but also aiding the civilians in any way they could.
“MOM!”
Levi turned to see a boy no older than 18, running towards a titan who grabbed a woman by her hair, he watched as the titan was about to bite her head off but the boy pushed her out of the way, the titan then bit the boy’s shoulder making him howl in pain.
Something inside Levi snapped at the sound of the boy’s cries; he couldn’t explain it nor understand it but seeing that boy in pain made something in Levi snap and abandon all logical thinking.
He ran towards the titan and leap into the air, landing on the ground the alpha lifted his claws before bringing them down; the titan’s howl was the loudest among its brethren, his scream of pain caused everyone on the battle field to stop whatever they were doing, their attention was focused on the alpha who’s eyes were murderous, the injured titan, and the boy that was in pain and in a state of shock as he watched the silver wolf fight the titan.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“EREN!”
Eren shout out of bed as he heard his mother’s frantic voice entering his room, he was shock to see her here since it has been nearly a month since he last seen her.
“Mom-“ just as he was about to ask her why she was in here she ran up to him and interrupt whatever he was about to say.
“Get up honey we have to go now!” she said frantically pulling him from the bed and tossing him his shoes.
“What, why?” he asked confused as she was grabbing his hand and pulled him out of the room and the two began to run, the next words that came out her mouth made his heart drop to the floor.
“Our pack, it’s being under attack,”
“What?!” fear lace through his voice as his mother moved him through the secret door that was located in the far corner of the castle.
The two entered the hidden room before they ran towards the door that led to the outside world.
“Mom, what’s going on? Why are we-“
“Titans Eren! Titans are attacking us and we have to get you out of here, if they even catch a whiff of you they will…” she didn’t even finish her sentence because Eren knew exactly what the titans would do if they found out that Eren was an omega.
Omegas were a fine specimen to own in any pack {so long as they weren’t the alpha’s first child} and having one meant a lot to a pack, especially since they were blessed by the Goddess and were the only ones that were able to produce alpha children and omega children, not only that but the children that omegas gave birth to would have hidden abilities that made them different than other wolves, it was one of the reasons why omegas were rare because of this rare gift that some had. While Betas were able to give birth as well they would normally give birth to either betas and rarely would they give birth to alphas or omegas. While his mother was an omega she gave birth to another omega something his father was not proud of.
Sadly, unlike his father there were many out there that would love to sink their teeth in Eren. The titans would especially love to have an omega among them, to have something as their breeding stock so that they could continue their disgusting creatures as well as have a titan pup that would have powers, that was something that Eren would die then let that happen. It also didn’t help that titans only wanted pure omegas, ones that haven’t been touched or scent marked, unfortunately for Eren he was neither of those.
“We have to get you out of here,” she cupped his face as she spoke to him in a soothing tone.
“I refuse to let any of those monsters near you,”
She then opened the door and grabbed his arm as the two started running.
The two omegas where half way to the woods before Carla was knocked down to the side by a titan.
The titan then grabbed her by the hair and yanked her up, Carla couldn’t help but wail in pain as the titan used all its strength to lift her off the ground.
“MOM!” Eren yelled as he watched the titan bring his mother closer to its mouth, ready to bite her head off; without thinking Eren ran up to her he somehow was able to push her out of the way, the titan’s hold was strong but somehow the push he gave his mother was stronger thus forcing his mother’s hair to be pulled out of her scalp Carla screech in pain however her screams of pain turn into terror as she watched the titan bit into her baby’s shoulder causing him to howl in pain.
Mother and son watched in horror as blood spilled from his shoulder, the titan then released the boy, landing on his ass Eren stared at the titan, fear clouding his eyes as lust started to fill the titan’s.
He knew he was an omega, he had to know either his scent or the taste of his blood gave it away.
Eren watched in fear as the titan got closer to him.
“Oh God, is it going to…in front of all these people?”
Before Eren could do anything-be it running as fast as he could or fight for his life-the titan yelled in pain; hell his howl was heard thorough the entire battle field, stopping every single movement that was happening around them and turning their attention on the alpha who’s eyes were murderous, the injured titan, and the boy that was in pain and in a state of shock as he watched the silver wolf fight the titan.
As soon as Levi clawed the titan’s back he waited until the disgusting creature turned to face him, it swiped his claw at the silver wolf who dodged it by ducking out of the way, Levi the grabbed the creature’s arm and snapped it half, causing the ulna and the radius to stick out of the creature’s skin. Levi then released the arm and began claw the creature’s chest, showing no mercy Levi then grabbed the creature by its genitals and ripped them off.
He then bit hard on the disgusting creature’s neck and ripped it off, the creature fell backwards as it withered in pain, Levi stared down at the disgusting thing as it whined in pain; the alpha knew that the thing would suffer till the end and if he was honest, he was glad that it would, it deserved a worse faith for hurting the boy.
Levi then turned to the boy who was staring at him with wonder and fear in his eyes.
As soon as he made contacted with those emerald gems Levi felt his entire world stop.
Granted the boy look afraid and his shoulder was bleeding and yet the only word Levi could use to describe this beautiful angel was,
“Beautiful,”
However, since he was in wolf form Levi couldn’t even form the words without making them sound like a growl or two so instead he walked up to the boy and placed his claws on his shoulders, making sure that he did not tried to removed himself from the wolf; the boy was too scared to do anything but allow Levi to do whatever he wanted and what he wanted was to scent mark him.
The boy smelled heavenly, the scent of the ocean filled his nostrils and Levi realized that this boy was his mate, he didn’t even need to look at his eyes to conform it, the feeling of home that consumed Levi’s heart as well as the way his heart beat accelerated as he held onto the boy was all the conformation that Levi needed.
The alpha forgot where he was and the fact that he was in the middle of a battlefield however, all that came crashing down when he heard a soft growl coming from behind him; turning around he saw Erwin walking up to him; the other wolf gestured for Levi to look around, the wolf listen to his second in command; his silver eyes scan the area and could see that his pack was able to take down the titans without a single problem, as always Levi couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride swelling up in his chest.
He knew that his pack would be able to handle this without even breaking a sweat, if he could he would have smiled with pride at his pack and would have thanked them, however, now was not the time for praises now was the time to make sure that his mate was okay and that he wasn’t going to bleed to death, Levi turned to Erwin and motion for him to gather their pack so that he could speak to them, Erwin nodded his head before he took off to where the pack was waiting for them and their orders.
Once he saw that their pack was heading for a secure area to shift back to their human forms Levi took this moment to look at his mate, the boy looked a tad frighten to be staring at the large wolf not that Levi blamed him, he was a lot taller as well as a lot stronger than the average alpha so he could understand the fear, what he didn’t understand was the scent of confusion and wonder that was starting to fill the area that surrounded them looking around Levi could see that everyone was staring at the boy with a peculiar stare, almost as if they have never seen this boy before.
“That is because they haven’t my child,”
Levi flinched as he heard Reyna’s velvet voice,
“My lady, that cannot be true he is an omega one of your children there is no way that no one could have known about him or of his existence,”
“Yes, my warrior, unfortunately not everyone treats my children with the respect they deserve which is why I am asking you, my warrior, to take care of him. Be kind and patient with him he has endure so much pain that my heart continues to ache and it will continue to ache until my little one is happy,”
“Do not worry my Goddess, as your warrior I promise-no I swear to you on Isabel’s grave that I will do whatever I can to make him happy, that I will be patient with him and I will wait for him for however long you wish for us to wait for him,”
“I thank you Levi, I know you will stay true to your word which is why I have blessed you both,”
“I understand my Lady, as I’ve said I will take care of him and make sure that he is safe and unharmed,”
“Thank you my warrior,”
Levi turned his attention back to the boy who was holding his shoulder and staring at him, Levi realized that while this boy feared him he would have to show him he was not a threat to him and to show that he had to be at his most vulnerable state.
Eren stared at the large wolf before him, he was a rather strange one, first he saves from almost being rape than scent marks him and now he is shifting to his human form, he watched as the giant wolf-seriously this wolf was taller and a lot more muscular than any werewolf he has ever seen-and before him stood a handsome man, he was a bit taller than Eren with midnight locks as well as eyes as silver as the moon.
Eren stared in awe at the man before him it wasn’t until he realized that said man was naked. A naked man was standing right in front of him.
Eren yelp as he turned his head away from the view trying to erase whatever he saw hoping that the man before him didn’t catch him staring.
Levi cleared his throat hoping to get his mate’s attention sadly the boy continue to look away admittedly he was getting a little annoyed so he walked up to the boy well he tried, the minute he took the first step someone blocked his path; a woman who had a striking resemblance to his mate.
“Who are you?” she growled at him, before Levi could respond Reiner, Ymir, and Mikisa stood beside him growling at the woman the woman looked scared but she would not back down; if Levi had to guess this woman was his mate’s mother. After all she did go to extreme lengths to protect the boy.
“Ymir, Reiner, Mikisa, stand down,”
The three wolves didn’t question his orders nor did they try and protest; they trusted their alpha’s judgment just like he trusted theirs.
The woman continue to glare at them Levi tilted his head to the side showing off his neck every wolf-including his pack that witnessed the action stared in shock hell Levi could hear them gasping and whispering among themselves.
He knew why, baring his neck while he was naked was a wolf’s most vulnerable state as well as a sign to show them they meant no harm whatsoever.
“What are you-oh my Goddess Eren!” everyone watched the woman rush to the boy’s side who passed out. Levi wasn’t sure if it was from shock or from the amount of…blood…lost…
“He’s wounded,” he said as he rushed to the woman’s side and put pressure on the wound,
“He needs help,”
The woman nodded her head as she told Levi were to take him, Levi carried his mate then told Erwin to follow him and help him out with healing the boy. Erwin nodded his head as he followed his alpha and the woman to a house that was slightly larger than the others unaware of a set of angry eyes following their movements.

August 17, 2018: 4:21 pm:<br><br>It's been quite an interesting few days ... StoneMan .Warrior - 2018-08-17 16:35:25-0700 - Updated: 2018-08-17 16:35:25-0700
August 17, 2018: 4:21 pm: It's been quite an interesting few days since my last post. I seem to have stirred up terrorists all the way into the White House, and the Pentagon, and the FBI, and a host of other top-level crooks, thieves, mass murderers, drug dealers, scum bags, addicts and scally-wags of all kinds, from the Oval Office to the Post Office to the shipping office to the back office, the terrorist bastards have come. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Jeff Sessions? Does anyone know the whereabouts of James Comey? It has been interesting and educational. I can gather from the events of the past few days that the coup on the White House is underway now. Damage control representatives have been sent from the highest authority in the land to delete this page, and kill me. The bastards have been successful only at deleting a small portion of this page, just a few entries. They were important entries. I am confidant that there is someone out there who copied the information that was posted and then deleted by terrorist Vatican Screen Actor Guild soldiers. ========================================= The text below is today's entire correspondence from the White House in Washington DC. This White House correspondence is loaded with Seventh Day Adventist secret code. I will make comment about the items later today. ========================================= The White House • August 17, 2018 ‘Made in America’—the results so far President Donald J. Trump ran for office on a simple idea. Too many politicians, especially on the left, insisted that America must adjust to a new age of slow growth and declining influence. Instead, the President innately understood Charles Krauthammer’s words—delivered in 2009—to be true: “Decline is a choice.” So is American renewal. Better trade deals open markets for American farmers and protect American workers. Lower taxes on families and employers reinvigorate American businesses. Fewer regulations put more power back into the hands of American citizens and their local governments. There’s another key ingredient: “We want to make more products and say ‘Made in America’,” the President says. “‘Made in the USA’ is a global symbol" of excellence. Now, America is making things again. Almost 200,000 manufacturing jobs were lost under the previous Administration; more than 400,000 have been added since President Trump was elected. The latest jobs report reveals that 37,000 manufacturing jobs were created last month alone. Manufacturing wages are expected to rise at the fastest rate in more than 18 years. Evident in this hiring and wage surge is soaring confidence among American producers. According to the National Association of Manufacturers, 95 percent of manufacturers have a positive outlook on their companies—the highest on record. Get the facts: America’s economic resurgence under President Trump Watch: President Trump to steelworkers: “America is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!” Aretha Franklin, 1942–2018 As news of the legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin’s death broke yesterday, President Trump spoke about her legacy at the top of his Cabinet meeting. “I want to begin today by expressing my condolences to the family of a person I knew well,” he said. “She’s brought joy to millions of lives, and her extraordinary legacy will thrive and inspire many generations to come. She was given a great gift from God: her voice. And she used it well.” Watch the President pay tribute to Aretha Franklin. ‘Obamacare forgot about you. But Trump didn’t.’ “For all the discussion of Obamacare since its passage, it is too rarely known that the law effectively split the United States’ individual insurance market in two,” Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar wrote this week. On one side are those with subsidies; on the other are Americans who must bear the full cost of their coverage. “In other words, Obamacare has forced unsubsidized Americans to choose between unaffordable insurance and no insurance at all,” the Secretary continued. The Trump Administration is providing relief for millions of Americans burdened with Obamacare’s rising premiums. Recently, HHS expanded an affordable insurance option to give customers more choice, allowing them to buy short-term, limited-duration insurance for up to a year. Secretary Azar: Obamacare forgot about you. But Trump didn’t. ==================================================

August 17, 2018: 5:21 pm: Today's White House Correspondence viewed through a MKUltra Secret Agent Decoder Ring that I found in a old box of Cracker-Jacks, Movie Size. As Follows: ============================================== ‘Made in America’—the results so far President Donald J. Trump ran for office on a simple idea. Too many politicians, especially on the left, insisted that America must adjust to a new age of slow growth and declining influence. Instead, the President innately understood Charles Krauthammer’s words—delivered in 2009—to be true: “Decline is a choice.” ============================================== On the surface, the item above is about "Made In America". Only on the surface though. The first sentence is missing punctuation. The period symbol is not there. This could mean trouble for a female somewhere. Could be a missing female terrorist White House representative/operative. The next line indicates that Mr. Trump ran for office on a simple idea, however, nowhere in the paragraph is their any reference to that idea. As I recall, Mr. Trump had a number of ideas that he ran on. Slow growth... in the next sentence; Declining influence; Adjust; on the Left: This suggest a sideways notion and an insistence to curb advancements. The final note in the paragraph is about a quote of Mr. Krauthammer: “Decline is a choice.” In legal jargon, even first year law school students know that when a "Show Cause" is on the table, there are a set of items listed, part of the "Show Cause" is to either "Admit, or, Deny... Decline". This is important, the terrorists are entertainers, they are SAG members, so, they consider their brand of terrorism as a "Show". The "Show Cause", according to my MKUltra Secret Agent Decoder Ring from Cracker Jack's Popcorn Snacks, is the cause of the show. In other words, this sentence is an instruction, from the "insistence" of the president, "to be true", that is, to be loyal to the cause... and further, to decline, deny, or otherwise lie about events and details of terrorism if caught, side-ways sometimes means "to lie down". The punishment for insubordination is "The Chuck Krauthammer", and is "innate" or will come naturally as a result of agreeing to be a terrorist in the first place. The punishment is something like the equivalent of a personal visit from Arnold Schwarzenegger wielding a sledge hammer... think "hamburger" or "schnitzel" and you will be on the right track. Personally, I have endured the terrorist wielding a sledgehammer service more than once... it hurts. The significance of the statement "—delivered in 2009—" is not clear to me, or the secret decoder ring. ========================================== And that is how I read the first paragraph of today's White House correspondence with the help of my trusty MKUltra Secret Agent Decoder Ring that I found in a old box of Cracker-Jacks, Movie Size.

August 17, 2018: 6:25 pm: The next item in the White House terrorist secret Vatican Screen Actor Guild Seventh Day Adventist command chain instruction Communication From the office of Donald J. Trump. As Follows: =========================================== So is American renewal. =========================================== The item above has two parts. The first paragraph starts abruptly. In Hollywood secret code, there is a notion that things can be "inny-outy", "topsey-turvey", upsey-downey", "black as day", "onesey-twosey", and a variety of other silliness that indicates reversal is often how things are discussed. Reversal in one sentence, or statement, can be re-reversed in the next statement to make things right-side-up. To wrap that up, starting abruptly can also mean ending abruptly, such as in two pieces, or in terrorist terms as a "two-piece", which is a physical description of a human that has been cut in two separate pieces, like this article portion is. --------------------------- Mr. Trump made a remark at a cabinet meeting that was aired on YouTube by an account called "Tech-View" yesterday. Toward the end after the man with the giant red tie gave a short speech containing bunch of really good news, the President made a verbal remark that demonstrates secret code, "Hollywood Style", in which he phrased his remark about water, and it's relationship to smelt (yes, smelt), as "coming up from the North, or, down from the North". The communication I am referring to and an explanation as to it's significance can be found here: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuVVjyAOk6A>
(look for two comments by StoneMan .Warrior there for explaination.) --------------------------- Now back to the reading: There is a reference to "better trade", "farmers" and "protecting American workers" in the second sentence of this paragraph. Farmers is about Seventh Day Adventists. American Workers are enslaved American victims who are currently held captive by the Seventh Day Adventists. This reading comes on a notion that there is turmoil among the terrorists, so this part of the communication is about telling the Seventh Day Adventists to protect the Victims who are being held in captivity. This protection could very well be an instruction to kill any victims who are being held, and in that way would protect them from being found by National Security personnel. The statement about "Better Trade Deals" is a statement about treason. Trade = treason in terror talk. Open Markets is a way of saying to be creative with the American Victims being held captive, anything goes, no rules, dispose of at will. The third sentence in this article paragraph is in regard to "Lower Taxes", which means to stop attacking for now. "Reinvigorate American business" is about disposing of victims held in captivity again, and is suggestive of "getting new life later on", "Reinvigorate", out with the old, and in with the new... but later, after things cool down. The final sentence here seems to be an instruction to allow the terrorist occupied cities, such as Grants Pass Oregon, and parts of Wisconsin, to perform activities that are considered to be "the American Way", which is quite contrary to the way the terrorist bastards do things. It is also an instruction not to take more prisoners or do any more unnecessary killing out in the public areas, and to perform local government tasks as per the way the job requirements for such local government operations are specified in their individually prescribed codes of conduct. Again, such an idea of codes of conduct being honored is contrary to the terrorist ways. The second part of the is two-piece statement: Basically, that part simply says "don't forget about our goals", "we are after Global Dominance", "made in the USA is not enough until the USA is a global state." So, in summery: "Dispose of "partners" and slaves, protect the terrorist ways from exposure in whatever way is necessary, don't get caught, take a break from the terrorist activity, and never forget what we set out to do, we will be on track again shortly." is the way that reads through MKUltra secret agent decoder tools. And that wraps that up.
StoneMan .Warrior - 2018-08-17 21:17:04-0700 - Updated: 2018-08-17 22:11:28-0700
August 17, 2018: 8:46 pm: Continuing with the reading of terrorist news from the head terrorist, Donald J. Trump. Third paragraph as follows: ======================================== Now, America is making things again. Almost 200,000 manufacturing jobs were lost under the previous Administration; more than 400,000 have been added since President Trump was elected. The latest jobs report reveals that 37,000 manufacturing jobs were created last month alone. ======================================== This paragraph is straight forward in terror terms. First, to understand, you must realize that word articulation is of utmost usefulness in crafting terrorist communications. They call the notion of articulation "Word Magic". With that in mind, remember that Mr. Trump's administration keeps changing. The appointees in his cabinet are like people trapped in a revolving door. The White House personnel office is like a popular thrill ride at a major theme park where there are people lined up to ride the ride for a while, then they move on to a different part of the theme park. So, when they talk about "The current administration", that just means the list of staffers as it stands today, verses the way the list looked the last time someone was hired or fired, which under the leadership of Donald Trump, the ""current administration" literally means one that has been in place for just a few hours. The paragraph says that under the previous administration, which would be since the last time a staffer or cabinet member was added or subtracted from the personnel list, since before then, 200,000 Americans who worked in manufacturing were murdered by terrorist soldiers under his leadership. It goes further to say that after changes were made to the current White House Staff, under those conditions, and additional 400,000 victims of terrorism have been added to the 200,000 that were killed just a few weeks ago. Then, the article indicates that in just one month, last month, more than 37,000 jobs opened up. The reason is through attrition. When terrorists kill an individual, then, that individual is no longer employed, and thus, a job opening is created. This report is only about manufacturing jobs and does not include job openings due to attrition in other professions caused by death resultant of terrorism under the leadership of Donald J. Trump. So, in conclusion, more than 637,000 Americans who worked at manufacturing jobs have been murdered by terrorist soldiers under the leadership of Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America. This accounting only includes those who have been killed by representatives of Donald Trump who worked in manufacturing and does not include any accounting of those Americans who were killed by representatives of Donald J. Trump who worked in other fields of employment. Also, this accounting only includes those manufacturing victims who were killed during the current administration, and the previous one, which would have been that last time that someone at the White House was either hired or fired. Basically, over the course of two months or so. This part of the communication from the White House is a Ego Booster for an extremely ambitious terrorist dictator. Think of it as a resume' that will be a part of history for all of eternity. That is what this is about. The first sentence in the Ego Booster section of today's White House terror correspondence letter says "Now, America is making things again." This is most likely a reference to "things", where the "things" are human beings. Human beings for this purpose are American citizens who have been captured, farmed for their assets, and then surgically made into a custom ordered rendition of something that defies definition. They are people. They have been mutilated. The mutilations are done surgically. Famous, Screen Actor Guild members are able to fill out an order form, like custom ordering an entertainment center. Your custom ordered entertainment center might have drawers, secret compartments, doors that open and close, a hidden television that pops up with the push of a button, it might be made of wood, or stainless steel, or granite, it could have a special decorative set of knobs, there might be four speakers, or eight speakers. Your custom ordered entertainment center will be absolutely unique. And, in this same way, Hollywood celebrities custom order what are known as "Partners". They are "pet people". They have been custom ordered and surgically altered to the specifications of say, Axle Rose. Or, David Letterman. Slash has two Partners. Dianne Sawyer orders new ones bi-annually. Matt Lauer, Katie Curick, the entire cast of the television show "Three's Company" has partners. Whatever movie actor, rock star, country music personality, news host, talk show host, band member or government official that you can name, has a partner at their house, or uses them for entertainment and then disposes of them after words. Partners are also referred to as "companions", "side-kicks", and "gymps", among other more colorfully descriptive words. And that sums up the third paragraph, right? Human partners are built at a place they call "The Pleasure Dome", and other similar underground surgery centers. "The Pleasure Dome" is located beneath a neighborhood of single family residence housing in Medford Oregon. The entrance is through the office of Doctor Brett Quave on Black Oak Drive. If Dr, Quave no longer is there, then it is at the place that was his office in 2012. The Pleasure dome is protected with high security. Men wearing white hazmat suits armed with Thompson and Mac Ten machine guns are there in number. In the waiting room at Dr, Quave's office there are some bottles of Grey Poupon Mustard. In terrorism communication, Grey Poupon Mustard bottles are used to indicate that a facility is protected with Mustard gas. That is why the soldiers there where the hazmat suits. Be advised... caution is advisable if visiting the office of Dr. Brett Quave. Also, Anti-Mustard gas apparatus and protective gear is highly warrented for considering accessing "The Pleasure Dome" in Medford. There are other ways in and out of the underground dome areas. I don't know where exactly those access points are, however, they built this place in a big crater of an excavated hole in about 1985, then, they built houses on top of it. Terrorist watch dogs live in or other wise occupy those residences. My experience and investigative intel has concluded that "The Pleasure Dome" is high technology and was funded and built by Bill Gates of MicroSoft. I sure wish I had some back up, or some friends. This is dangerous to report.

August 17, 2018: 10:20 pm: So I looked at the rest of the communication from the White House today and could write more, I could expose more. The rest of the information is mostly about ObamaCare, or the replacement of ObamaCare. It's mostly just more about dead American Victims and serves as "insult to injury". It won't benefit me or anyone else to decipher the rest of this. The idea can be summed up as follows: The information contained in the remainder of the correspondence is so very disappointing and horrible that any attempt to decipher the coded messages will only reveal insults to the person or persons involved with reading it. The notion that things are as bad as they are will simply lower the moral and suck the will and the life right out of anyone who has been involved in law enforcement or national security simply due to the fact the these things have been going on right in front of everyone... and in fact, on television and for so very long. So, rather than participate in an effort to cause undue heartache or grief, I'll choose to digress here, while waiting patiently to find someone, or a group of someone's who can and will aid in the thwarting of this terrorist coup. StoneMan continues to pledge to stop terrorism on the spot and without hesitation wherever terrorism presents a threat. Take the pledge.

Dead producer found in shallow grave was looking for love on Tinder
The sister of a film producer found murdered in a shallow grave at her £400,000 home has urged people to come forward with information as it emerged her sibling vanished after meeting a ‘charismatic vet’ for a coffee date.
Laureline Garcia-Bertaux was found buried in the garden of her house on a tree-lined street in the wealthy suburb of Kew in south-west London, having last been seen alive on Saturday night.
It later emerged that Laureline, 34, was due to meet a mystery man on Sunday evening, just hours before her death.
Her sister Samantha Collot issued a heart-felt plea for people to come forward with any information about Laureline’s murder, as Metropolitan Police confirmed that it had made no arrests in connection with the case.
In a post to Facebook, translated from her native French, she wrote: ‘Missing alert… the news that the police need now are: all the people who could have had [seen] Laureline between Sunday night and Monday morning.
‘We regroup onpasse l info even for nothing even if we are not sure!!! It also serves Facebook!!! Thank you all.’

Laureline Garcia-Bertaux, a 34-year-old PR executive assistant from Richmond on Thames, was reported missing after she failed to turn up to work on Monday
Murder detectives are now investigating the French national’s love life after close friends said she was active on dating sites such as Tinder, Bundle and the Inner Circle.
Laureline, who lived alone with her two pet dogs, had worked alongside Joan Collins, 85, last year on the short film Gerry.
In a statement, Dame Joan told the Daily Mirror: ‘I’m shocked by the horrifying news. Laureline was passionate about film. I enjoyed our collaboration and thought she had a great future.’
Police launched a missing persons inquiry after the PR executive assistant and lifestyle blogger – a French national – failed to turn up to work on Monday.
She was last seen alive on Saturday night at a Sainsbury’s, a few streets away from where she lived on Darell Road. A hunt has now been launched for her killer but so far there have been no arrests.
A neighbour today told the Evening Standard that she may have been the ‘last person to see her alive’, after spotting her in conversation with a middle-aged man in the garden on Sunday.
She said: ‘I didn’t take much notice at the time. I think she was moving out of the flat because all last week there was furniture being taken out.
‘It looked like a normal conversation and she had her arms folded across her chest. Police said I might have been the last person to see her alive.’
Her friend Daniel Hughes, 27, said he had spoken to her best friend, who reported her missing.
‘I think the last point the CCTV caught her was outside a Sainsbury’s on Saturday evening in Richmond,’ he said.
‘She was meant to go shopping in Oxford Street on Sunday, daytime. She was meant to meet a man for coffee on the Sunday evening. We’re not sure when the murder took place, whether it was Saturday night or Sunday night.
‘She was meant to move out of that house on Monday morning.’
Mr Hughes said he found the proposed meeting before his friend’s murder ‘a bit suspicious’ and said he had been told the man was a ‘charismatic’ vet.
‘She met him in a shop or something like that and then he must have chatted to her then and they arranged a coffee on Sunday evening,’ he said.
‘We don’t know if she went out to meet him or not because we don’t know what the point was when that happened.’

Mr Hughes, who said he previously worked with Ms Garcia-Bertaux at the Discovery Channel, said she was single and lived alone with her two dogs.
‘She’s tall, got a lot of presence. Always very friendly, very talkative, would never have hurt anyone.
‘Got a lot of confidence and passion, a lovely lady. She had a lot of friends as well, including me,’ he said.
‘I’m pretty harrowed about it. I’ve been in that house, I’ve been in that garden. It’s creepy, it’s upset me quite a lot.’
Members of Ms Garcia-Bertaux’s family, who are believed to have flown into the UK from France, have been informed of developments and are being supported by specially trained officers, police said.
No-one has been arrested and a post-mortem examination is to be carried out.
A large police cordon has been put in place around the scene in Darell Road which extends to cover the garden and passageway area at the back of the terraced property.
With the noise of playing children echoing from a nearby school, forensics officers in blue suits could be seen erecting a large tent, with evidence markers visible down the narrow alley between a number of homes.
A neighbour who did not want to be named said others on the street have told him they had seen a man visiting the property ‘now and again’, and added: ‘I did not see her very much.’
Another told how he saw Ms Garcia-Bertaux with a ‘scruffy looking geezer’ days before she went missing.
Paul Watkins, 63, said he saw her walking her Rottweiler and Husky dog in a park near her home. He said: ‘She was usually on her own when she walked her dogs and we would stop and chat, mostly about the dogs.
‘Last Wednesday I saw her as I was leaving and she was with this scruffy looking geezer. He was 5ft 10 and was holding one of the dogs by a lead. I did not speak to him’.
Meanwhile, a producer who worked with Ms Garcia-Bertaux on a number of projects – including the short film Gerry with Joan Collins and Tower Block with Sheridan Smith and Jack O’Connell – said she was ‘absolutely devastated’ to hear of her friend’s death.
Laureline (pictured) was last seen alive on Saturday night at a Sainsbury’s, a few streets away from where she lived on Darell Road. So far there have been no arrests
In June last year Ms Garcia-Bertaux posted on Instagram about her joy of working with Joan Collins on the short film Gerry
Producer Hester Ruoff, who spoke to her close friend hours before she was reported missing, told The Telegraph: ‘Laureline was incredibly loyal – she had my back 100 per cent. She would give up her contacts for the benefit of the film, which is just so very, very rare in the industry.
‘She became so much more than my line producer, she became a very close friend. She was just so spirited and very loyal and when you find someone like that you do everything you can not to let them go.’
Ms Garcia-Bertaux’s profile on the film industry website IMDb said she was born on November 25, 1984, in Aix-en-Provence in southern France and had lived in Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean.
She began performing at an early age before developing an interest in street dance, modern jazz, ballet and belly dancing.
Ms Garcia-Bertaux, who had a Rottweiler named Jazz, had been a dancer for almost 20 years. She performed in a cover band called The Tams and wrote her own music.
She was also a dog lover, and in her final post last month she wrote: ‘Every morning I’m struggling to get out of bed for this one! It’s so hard to resist to cuddle him.’
Her neighbour Mr Watkins said he had been told others living nearby had previously complained about her two dogs barking.
One in her 60s said: ‘She lived there for about 18 months – you barely saw her, but you could hear her.
‘She always spoke in French and was very loud, chatting on the phone at all hours. I used to see her walking her dogs, one rottweiler and one husky, they were beautiful, they didn’t make a lot of noise.
‘She was on her own as far as I’m aware, I never saw anyone coming in an out apart from her.

Another neighbour said: ‘There’s not much I can say other than she was nice enough, I used to say hello. She lived alone I think. Nobody else was there but the dogs, she loved them.’
A single reclinable sofa chair could be seen outside the terraced house where the victim was believed to have lived.
The small front garden of the two-storey open brick house, worth more than £800,000 and which had been split into two flats, was overgrown with grass and plants.
The murder scene lies just 30 foot from Darell Primary and Nursey School.

Neighbour Bob Bassett, 75, said that he knew of Ms Garcia-Bertaux, and would speak to her about her two large dogs.
‘She was quiet. I never saw a boyfriend,’ he said, adding that as far as he knows she lived in the ground-floor flat alone, and was originally from France.
Another neighbour who did not want to be named said he had previously seen her with a leonberger – a large breed of dog.
He said others on the street have told him they had seen a man visiting the property ‘now and again’, and added: ‘I did not see her very much.’

On her social media profiles Ms Garcia-Bertaux described herself as a line producer for short films, an executive assistant, a PR and marketing worker and a lifestyle blogger and fashion stylist.
Her LinkedIn page said she had been working as an executive assistant at the London PR agency Golin since January.
She also founded a video and online production firm called Black Balloons Studios in October last year, and runs a fashion and lifestyle blog called Style & T.

In December she hinted that she had endured a tough year.
She wrote on Facebook: ‘I can clearly say that despite how bad this year has been! I’ve never felt closer to my friends and family!’
When she went missing she was said to visit the Twickenham area as well as Camden, north London, and the Dorset resort town of Bournemouth.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: ‘Laureline Garcia-Bertaux, 34, from Richmond, was reported missing after she did not turn up for work on Monday.

Company car insurance?
Hi Can anyone help me re company car insurance I am currently getting a company car and now under the companies insurance, so dont need my own private insurance. I currently have 9 years NCD. I am now worried, what happens if I leave the company in a few years time, do I have to start from scratch again with no NCD, or can I still use my 9 years NCD anyone know (I have read they are valid for 2 years) I have asked Direct Line (my insurer) and they cant give me a straight answer, I get something different each time. I wanted to know if I was involved in an accident with company insurance I appreciate I have to state that when going back to private insurance but if I had an accident and had no NCD my premium would be sky high which I find unfair if I lose my 9 years NCD as I have not actually taken a break from driving. Does that make sense? hope someone can help me Thanks, Steve""

Best way to get car insurance?
I have heard that it may be better to get car insurance from a broker rather than online. I am 18, and I want to get my own policy. I am currently a named driver on my dads policy, as it is much cheaper to do it that way but I want to buy a car in my name and start earning my own ncb. I currently drive a Jaguar X Type and the insurance costs 2100 from Tesco (with my dad as the main driver). It would cost me about 3200 to insure it myself with Tesco. I want to get a smaller car that is easier on petrol and road tax, but I am having trouble finding a realistic quote. I am thinking about either a Smart Roadster coupe, a honda civic or ford fiesta. With Tesco, I dont get 1 year ncb as I would have done with Direct Line, and the insurance would be OK if I did. Its tempting me to lie on the insurance if I cant find a decent quote (under 2000), although I wouldn't want to. Can anyone offer me any advice on how to find cheaper car insurance or recommend any companies ?""

Should i sue my auto insurance company?
On the morning of Sept 14, 2011 my sister woke me up at home asking me where my car was. I went outside to discover my vehicle was gone. So I call the police to come and take a report but of course there wasn't enough officers on duty to send one out so I wake up my brother to get a ride to the station. Keep in mind this is between 2:30-5:00am and the last time I actually saw my car was Sept 13, 2011 at approx 11pm. I arrive at the police station where I make a report, they take down all the info and send me home with the report. Approx 1 hour later they call me and say my vehicle was recovered in a nearby city and they gave me the number to that police station. So I hurry to call them but of course they were closed until 8am. At 8am I call them they said bring my ID and insurance info to recover the vehicle. I go down there and ask questions but they told me they weren't allowed to disclose any information about who, what, were, or when the incident occurred because of confidentiality. They told me I would have to pay the towing and storage fee to recover my car from the impound. So I left and went to the impound paid $218.00 to discover that my vehicle had been totaled. So I had it towed to my house where I called the insurance company to report this. After I reported this incident they took a recorded statement and gave me a claim number. I waited for 2days for my adjuster to call me back and he never did. about 2 weeks later my adjuster calls and leaves me a message saying he needed another recorded statement and to call him back. I call back and got his voice mail. I spoke to one of his colleagues and they said they would send him and his manager a memo to call me back..well that never happened. 1 week after that I get a packet in the mail asking for my cell phone records, keys to the vehicle, and a notarized affidavit. I sent these things back and then a detective from the insurance company calls me and said there were red flags and he needed to get a video recorded statement. I agreed and went to give the statement. A few days later a detective from the police department where my car was recovered from calls me and tells me that my youngest son's father was with some friends at a nightclub were a drive-by shooting occurred and my son's father wasn't shot but the young man he was with was and as a result of them trying to escape the scene my car was crashed. As they arrived to the scene and asked questions about what happened my son's father would not admit he was driving the vehicle, and because they didn't actually see him driving or pull him over they could not prosecute. The detective asked me did I know anything about this incident and I replied hell no! The night of the incident my son's father had came to my house around 3am but never mentioned anything of course because he knows I would have tried to kill him. He also knows I would have been pissed because I never let him drive my car for the 3 years that I have known him, he has never had a license. She ask me was it ok to list him as a suspect and I told her Yes! I let her know that he did not have permission to drive my car under any circumstances. The very next day the detective from the insurance company called me and ask me what was my son's father name and what where the numbers that where called on my cell phone records. He asked why did he call me at 2:54am, I explained he wanted to let me know he was on his way over which wasn't out of the ordinary for him to do. So then the detective tells me my story stinks and I need to withdraw my claim because on my interview I didn't disclose that my boyfriend had come to my house. I told him why did I need to disclose who was sleeping in my bed if it had nothing to do with my car. I mean we know now he had something to do with it but I didn't know then. He told me the police detective also had the keys to my car which was a lie. It clearly states on the impound record that they had no keys. Not to mention the car has broken locks and loose wires I guess he didn't read that part of the report. He also told me I was trying to cover for my son's dad to get the car covered. I told him he could arrest him for GTA for all I care. My car was stolen and no matter who stole it I'm the victim and of course I want my car covered. He then said he was denying the claim and sending the case to the Department of Insurance to see if fraud was committed. Im beyond frustrated because I have nothing to do with what my son's dad did. Should I sue?""

Someone Is Targeting American Students Abroad
Our reporting shows the murder of 19-year-old Beau Solomon in Rome this week fits a disturbing pattern.”>
ROME If the shocking death of 19-year-old American study-abroad student Beau Solomon after a night of partying in Rome sounds all-too-familiar, thats because it is.
Solomon is the fifth American-born student to die in the last five years on the streets of Romes historical city center. Three, like Solomon, were robbed first. The others, including Andrew Keith Carr, 21, and Han Kwang Lee, 19, were not, but they perished after falling from bridges or high walls after a night out on the town.
Countless others are regularly robbed, raped or attacked every year.
And whos to blame? Apparently no one.
Roman police say it is the fault of the foreign universities for not adequately warning students in study abroad programs about the perils of alcohol consumption or about those who prey on novice drinkers and foreigners abroad.
The drunk American abroad is a well-known entity in Rome and in Florence, another popular destination for study abroad students where behaving badly is often part of the curriculum.
Most locals dont even know what the legal drinking age is in Italy because it doesnt pose much of a problem, since the drink yourself to oblivion culture is not an Italian vice. For the record, the legal age to purchase wine and beer is 16; the legal age to purchase distilled drinks is 18, though ID checks are rare and it is certainly common to see even younger teens with their own glass of wine at a family meal in a restaurant.
The problem is that American college kids who land in Rome often follow a lure that is dangled from day one of their arrival. Cocktail bars and social clubs use the enticement of a non-enforced drinking age and pretty people passing out flyers for cheap parties and pub crawls near campuses. They know that young Americans are especially good customers, and they suck them in with advertisements for nights like thirsty Thursday and Jagerbomb Wednesday. The Colosseum Pub Crawl is one of the citys most popular (and most notorious), and even features drunk Americans holding Old Glory in a Roman piazza on its Facebook page.
Indeed, pub crawls are the most popular way to get smashed, consisting of someone with a bus driving kids who generally arent old enough to drink at home from bar to bar (to bar to bar) where they down shottinis (1 shots) and cocktails until they vomit or pass out.
Last year, a young American woman woke up in a Roman hospital with a fractured spine from being sexually assaulted. The last thing she remembered was getting off the pub-crawl bus somewhere in Rome. And when Kwang Lees body was found on the banks of the Tiber in 2012, he still had his pub-crawl bracelet on his wrist from the night before.
Ask almost any American expat in Rome, and they will tell at least one story about pouring a young, drunk American into a taxi or driving them home late at night in an attempt not only to save the students, but to save the reputation of the country. These Americans come here and get their first taste of freedom and go wild, a spokesperson with Romes police station told The Daily Beast. But the bars that continue to serve inebriated people as well as those who run the pub crawls all share the blame.
The universities say its not up to them to teach college-aged students how to behave. Many of the programs in Rome are very strict and keep close tabs on their foreign students. Others say they do enough to keep the kids safe on campus, and it is instead up to the local authorities and the parents to keep them safe on the streets.
The risk of warning students or their families about potential dangers could be that students wont come, despite the fact that there is no question whatsoever about the benefits of a study abroad program, especially in a place so culturally rich as Rome. But many calls to university programs in Rome for this article were met with apprehension about commenting and warning against focusing too much attention on just one death.
Franco Pavoncello, president of John Cabot University, easily the most popular study abroad program in Rome, where quite unfortunately three of the latest American victims were enrolled, says its not the job of the university to babysit. Its not up to the president of John Cabot University to do an evaluation of the dangers of Romes nightlife, Pavoncello told the Associated Press. Its up to judicial authorities.
Benjamin and Theresa Mogni might not agree. Their 20-year-old son Andrew came to John Cabot from the University of Iowa in 2015. On the day he arrived, he attended a dinner party until around 1 a.m. and then mysteriously fell off a high retaining wall down around 30 or 40 feet onto the Tiber riverbank. Like Solomon, he had also been robbed before he fell. He survived the fall and was airlifted to the United States and tragically died in Chicago three months later.

Being an American there, you do stand out and you do become a target, Theresa Mogni told a local CBS affiliate in Chicago upon the news of Solomons death. And youve got to understand that and really protect yourself.
Over-indulging aside, there is little doubt to anyone who lives in this city about the presence of predators lurking along the sidelines of almost any occasion to take advantage of all types of foreigners. Religious pilgrims get robbed on buses to the Vatican, young women are frequently drugged with date-rape pills, and young men, it would seem, get robbed and rolled on a regular basis.
Everyone knows these thugs are out there, a bartender at the G-Bar in the Trastevere district, where Solomon had his last drink, told The Daily Beast as she delivered a sloppy tray of shottini to another group of Americans who had recently arrived in Rome. They usually have a girl that lures the boys away, and then their friends mug him. It happens a lot.
When I asked the group of kids at the table she served if theyd heard about Solomon, most said that their parents had sent something about that but few knew any details, including the fact that they were sitting at the same bar where his fateful night began.
Bad things happen everywhere, one girl said as she downed her potent shot. She didnt want to be named because she was only 17 and she didnt want her parents to read that she was out at a bar in Rome. I dont want them to worry.
The dangers of liberal drinking and lawlessness are an open secret everyone seems to know about except, perhaps, the kids who become the victims.
Fortunately, only a tiny fraction of the victims actually get killed. The rest either go back home to deal with the aftermath, or just get stitched up, call their banks for new credit cards and are back out at the bars soon after.
The assailants are rarely caught, or, for that matter, even chased. In Mognis case, police didnt even launch an official investigation into the question of theft or murder for weeks after his accident. Instead they treated it as a mishap. His case is officially open in Rome, but no one is actively investigating and none of the possessions he had on him, including a gold cross, were ever recovered.
In Solomons case, the theft trail is already cold despite the fact that whoever nabbed his credit cards was able to spend around $1,700 before his parents back home even knew he was missing.
Worst of all, perhaps, is that it all happens in plain sight. Several witnesses have said that Solomon was robbed on the picturesque Ponte Sisto Bridge near the bar where he and his new classmates were enjoying the vibrant Roman nightlife. He then apparently chased the predator or predators down to what anyone in Rome would consider the wrong side of the Tiber River, where a lively drug trade thrives among the homeless tents and cardboard box shelters. In broad daylight, thugs are known to throw sticks into the spokes of passing bicycles to mug the riders when they fall; at night any number of crimes take place in the unlit overgrown shrubs where dozens of homeless people have set up encampments.
It was there where Solomon reportedly stumbled onto the tent occupied by Massimo Galioto, a 41-year-old homeless man who was conveniently arrested for homicide shortly after Solomons swollen body was found a mile down the river four days after he disappeared. As a matter of strange coincidence, or not, Galioto was also questioned a few years ago about someone else who had fallen into the river near his perch, though he was never arrested.
Because of a summer festival along the good side of the Tiber River across the water on the night Solomon died, there were ample surveillance cameras that caught at least part of the action, including the moment when Solomon fell into the water and his futile attempts to swim back to shore, though nothing has surfaced that shows the riverbank with the encampment or just how he fell in. Galiotos companion told local reporters that the two men tussled and that Solomon fell into the river and then she and Galioto went back to sleep. They began to argue, she said. They were pushing each other. Massimo pushed him, the boy pushed back, and then he fell in.
Across the river, hundreds of Romans and tourists were still out sipping wine and enjoying a lovely evening under the stars. It all happened in plain sight with no one looking.
The dark scene is reminiscent of what happened to John Durkin, another young American who was found dead in Rome after a night out in 2014. Durkins lifeless body was discovered in a train tunnel right next to the Vatican. An autopsy showed that he was likely dead before an early morning train sliced his legs off. He, too, had been robbed. He was also missing his shirt for reasons no one may ever know. And no one may ever be held accountable for his horrific death, either.
Even though none of this debauchery and lawlessness is much of a secret for those of us who live in Rome, this dark side is clearly not something Americans are told about before they come to one of the most amazing cities on the planet. And even those of us who live here (many with our own teenagers who are potential targets) arent immune. The night my own nearly 17-year-old son went out to meet his friends in Trastevere after Solomons death, I made him read every single gory detail I could find about the case. Thats not going to happen to me, he said. Dont worry.
Easier said than done.
Instead, maybe its time to change something before another dead American or other foreign student ends up dead on the banks of the Tiber. Maybe its time to talk about whats really killing American students in Rome.

11-Year-Old Has Spent Her Life in Jail, a Serial Killer as a Cellmate
By Rod Nordland, NY Times, Dec. 3, 2017
JALALABAD, Afghanistan--Meena got chickenpox, measles and the mumps in prison. She was born there, nursed there and weaned there. Now 11 years old, she has spent her entire life in prison and will probably spend the rest of her childhood there as well.
The girl has never committed a crime, but her mother, Shirin Gul, is a convicted serial killer serving a life sentence, and under Afghan prison policy she can keep her daughter with her until she turns 18.
Meena was even conceived in prison, and has never been out, not even for a brief visit. She has never seen a television set, she said, and has no idea what the world outside the walls looks like.
Her plight is extreme, but not unique. In the women’s wing of the Nangarhar provincial prison here, she is one of 36 children jailed with their mothers, among 42 women in all. But none of the other children have spent such a long time in custody; most of their mothers’ sentences are much shorter.
Locking up small children with their mothers is a common practice in Afghanistan, especially when there are no other close relatives, or fathers are absent or estranged. Child advocates estimate that there are hundreds of imprisoned Afghan children whose only crime is having a convicted mother.
There is a program that runs orphanages for children whose mothers are imprisoned, but the women have to agree to let their sons and daughters be taken, and the program does not cover many areas of Afghanistan, including Jalalabad.
At Meena’s prison, the women’s cells are arranged around a spacious courtyard, shaded by mulberry trees, and the children have free rein of it. There is a set of rusting, homemade swings, monkey bars and slides that end in muddy puddles.
A schoolroom is in one of the cells, with a white board and a mixture of benches and chairs, seating 16 children at eight desks. A single teacher looks after three grades, first through third, an hour a day for each grade; at age 11, Meena has reached only the second grade.
When I met with Meena, she sat down, clutching a yellow plastic bag under her shawl. “My whole life has passed in this prison,” she said, during a tense interview in the women’s wing last month. “Yes, I wish I could go out. I want to leave here and live outside with my mother, but I won’t leave here without her.”
Meena was soft-spoken, composed and well-mannered, with a cherubic round face framed by a modestly drawn hijab. Her mother was chain-smoking, brash and outspoken, tattooed in a country where tattoos are considered irreligious, her head scarf askew to reveal henna-streaked hair.
“How do you think she feels?” Ms. Gul said, impatient at what she derided as stupid questions. “It’s a prison, how should she feel? A prison is a prison, even if it’s heaven.”
A question about why Ms. Gul would not let her daughter leave infuriated the mother even more. She launched into a diatribe against the Afghan president. “You, Mr. America, tell that blind man Ashraf Ghani, your puppet, your slave, tell him to get me out of here,” she said. “I didn’t commit any crime. My only fault is that I cooked food for my husband who committed a crime.”
The man she calls her husband, Rahmatullah (they were never legally married), was convicted along with her son, her brother-in-law, an uncle and a nephew for their role in the murders and robberies of 27 Afghan men in 2001 to 2004. Afghan prosecutors said Ms. Gul was the ringleader.
Working as a prostitute, Ms. Gul brought home her customers, many of them taxi drivers, and served them drugged kebabs, after which her family members robbed, killed and then buried them in the yards of two family homes.
All six were sentenced to death, and the five men were hanged. Ms. Gul, however, got pregnant while on death row, so her own hanging was delayed. After she gave birth to Meena, her sentence was commuted to life in prison by the president at the time, Hamid Karzai, according to Lt. Col. Mohammad Asif, the head of the women’s cellblock here.
Ms. Gul first claimed that she had never confessed to the crimes, then said she had been tortured into confessing to them. Frustrated, she made clawing gestures across a table and hissed, “I’ll kill you. I’m going to come over there and take out your eyes.”
Meena touched her lightly on the shoulder to try to calm her down, put a forefinger to her lips and said, “Shh.” Her mother subsided, briefly.
The girl was still holding the yellow plastic bag; inside was a bundle wrapped in a carefully folded red and white kitchen towel.
“What’s in there, Meena?” I asked.
“Pictures of my father.”
She proudly unwrapped them to show them off. Meena and her mother rarely get visits, and never from family members or friends, all of whom are either dead or estranged. Part of the reason Meena is still behind bars is that she has no surviving relatives who would take her, even if her mother allowed it.
Or as Ms. Gul explained it: “I have many enemies. I wouldn’t trust anyone to take Meena outside.”
The photos were of Rahmatullah, whom Meena calls her father: portraits, snapshots on holiday, pictures of him with Ms. Gul.
Rahmatullah (who like many Afghans had only one name) was also convicted of killing Ms. Gul’s legal husband, a police colonel, when Ms. Gul and Rahmatullah were having an affair. The colonel’s body was among those found buried in the yards of the family homes in 2004. Rahmatullah was also a convicted pedophile and thief and reputedly a former Taliban commander.
What he almost certainly was not, however, was Meena’s biological father; the dates do not fit. He was already in jail when he implicated Ms. Gul in the murders, and they were in different prisons in different cities at the time of Meena’s conception. Afghan officials said that an unknown prison officer was Meena’s birth father, and officials accused Ms. Gul of deliberately getting pregnant to avoid the gallows.
Meena went through the photographs one after another, lingering over some, including two of Rahmatullah dead, after his hanging, in a burial shroud but with his face visible; it was not a pretty sight.
In a 2015 interview with The New York Times, Ms. Gul admitted that she and Rahmatullah had killed her husband together.
She denied it when I spoke to her. “It was all Rahmatullah’s fault,” Ms. Gul said. “I would not be here if it wasn’t for him. They should execute me, then Meena would have cried for one day, and it would be over. Instead I am crying every day; it’s a slow death, dying all the time.”
In her calmer moments, Ms. Gul had a simple, chilling message to convey: Meena deserves her freedom. But she won’t get it unless her mother does, too.
“Tell Ashraf Ghani that!” she demanded.
Children in jail is a scandal without an easy solution, advocates say. “When you didn’t commit a crime, you shouldn’t be punished for it, and those children did not commit any crimes,” said Bashir Ahmad Basharat, the director of the Child Protection Action Network, a quasi-governmental agency.
Keeping the children in prison is against both international norms and Afghan law, Mr. Basharat said, despite the practice being so widespread. “But it’s something where we don’t have other alternatives.”
The country’s approximately 30 women’s prisons have several hundred children accompanying their mothers, he said. The women’s wing at the Pul-e-Charkhi prison in Kabul now has 41 children who are younger than 5.
As Afghan prisons go, Nangarhar’s women’s facility appeared to be comparatively uncrowded and well maintained. The 36 children there on the day I visited ranged in age from three days to 11 years; Meena was the oldest.
The women and their children share 10 relatively large cells, with two double bunk beds each, so many of them sleep on mattresses on the floor. Only the compound as a whole was locked up, not the individual cells, so it did not appear prisonlike, aside from the huge steel gates to the outside and the coils of barbed wire atop two rows of surrounding double walls.
Meena sat through her mother’s tirades impassively, sometimes with a thin, sweet smile. She became more animated talking about her best friend, Salma, 10. She said their favorite pastime was playing with their dolls.
Meena said she and Salma created their own dolls, named Mursal and Shakila, out of bits of cloth and string. “Both of them are girls,” she said.
When it was time to say farewell, Meena shook hands with everyone politely, then went to the other end of the courtyard with Salma, arm in arm, still carrying her yellow plastic bag.
