Last song listened to: not counting background music and soundtracks from watching tv or youtube i believe i was listening to The Communists Have the Music by They Might Be Giants a few days ago? just because the sick ass music video popped up on my youtube tab and i was wasting time. yes i can go days without willingly listening to music sorry to the musicheads everywhere

Currently reading: still Las Malas by Camila Sosa Villada. yes it's been months and i am still trying to get through this really short and easy read. it's an unbelievably good book though if you speak spanish you should read it. rough and raw semi-autobiographical travesti magical realism

Currently watching: actively i've been binging GLOW i have like two episodes left i got really hooked! it's such a good show i'm already so fucking pissed it got cancelled and i haven't even gotten to the cliffhanger yet. but the more i learn about this cancellation the more pissed i get. also very funny that whenever i watch a tv show about women doing sports i'm like "omg i should do that" my friend said it's like sports anime to me and she's so right. other than that i'm still getting through Laverne & Shirley (S5), The X-Files (S4), Columbo (S8), and i've been watching a bit of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (S1) with my little sister!

Currently obsessed with: i am in such a slump lately i'm not gonna lie to you. am i obsessed with anything rn? up until one or two weeks ago it was Starsky & Hutch occupying my every waking thought but i've calmed down about them i think rn. uhh. of course Quantum Leap and MASH always on the mind. well i've been trying to grow some plants (Hutch core) but they all keep dying except for my loyal pothus (Starsky core).

bit of a struggle—i watched 54 movies this year, but ended up not really enjoying most of them (lmao). lots of ones that i could objectively say were well made but that i just did not enjoy </3. perhaps next year will be better. if i watch more movies. ANYWAY. MY LIST (in no particular order!):

i think xfiles needs a baucis & philemon episode……..in which scully & mulder meet this old ancient married couple who don’t have much but they have each other, and something strange and supernatural is happening to them but they welcome the chance to experience it together. and it’s a bittersweet ending where they’re changed, into intertwining trees or something similarly eerie, and they’re not quite alive anymore but you know they’re happy to spend eternity together. and it gives scully & mulder a lot to think about

all this librarians posting is getting to me..... should i start watching it..... it seems batshit insane but also compelling from how you talk abt it. in the throes of the noal wyle craze and im debating er or librarians.....

the librarians is one of the stupidest and most awesome shows of all time. you should watch it if you have a high tolerance for crazy bullshit--i tried to watch it in 2017 but i was not prepared for it and only got through the first two episodes. if you have studied the blade (watched doctor who or the league of extraordinary gentlemen movie or, i think, penny dreadful, which i have not seen but boost has), you will probably get into it. i definitely needed study there before i could accept it into my heart and now it is ruining my life. it's also a waaay lower commitment than ER which has two Billion episodes. @theboost is watching both and said ER is their wife who they hate and the librarians is their mistress.

i would recommend watching the three made for tv librarian movies first though!! we watched the first two episodes and then went back and watched them and it really put us in the Librarians Mindset (you can tell which movie is my favorite because it's how i tag for the entire franchise lmao). they also make a Lot of what alex* does kind of understandable, because she's insanely flaky--doylistly because noah wyle was too employed which keeps tearing this polycule apart**--and horrible at being around people and then you remember the end of the third movie and you're like. Well. Maybe I Would Also Be Like That. especially once you learn the fucking bonkers in yonkers lore in the first episode of season four.

truly a batshit insane show though. i think they set you up for it pretty well by having bruce campbell be santa be in the fourth episode of the entire series. you have to know up front what the hell you're in for. if you can accept bruce campbell as santa claus and his quite frankly crazy christmas magic you can accept anything.

it actually makes us really mad how much noah wyle understands his character i was just complaining about it yesterday because there's a few episodes he wrote and unfortunately. they are really fucking good:
