"Die Bande von der Baker Street" (Originaltitel: "The Irregulars") ist eine britische Fernsehserie, die am 26. März 2021 auf Netflix Premiere hatte. Die #Serie ist eine lose #Adaption der Sherlock-Holmes-Geschichten von Arthur Conan Doyle und konzentriert sich auf eine Gruppe von jungen Außenseitern, die übernatürliche Verbrechen im viktorianischen London aufklären.

Handlungsübersicht: Die Serie folgt Bea, Jessie, Spike und Billy, die als Waisenkinder in #London leben. Sie werden von Dr. John Watson engagiert, um eine Reihe von mysteriösen Fällen zu untersuchen, die übernatürliche Elemente beinhalten. Sherlock Holmes: In dieser Version als geschwächte Figur dargestellt, gespielt von Henry Lloyd-Hughes.

Themen und Setting: Die Serie verbindet Elemente von Thriller, Mystery, Horror und historischem Drama. Sie erkundet Themen wie Freundschaft, Loyalität und das Übernatürliche. Das viktorianische London wird in einer dunklen und atmosphärischen Weise dargestellt.

Wie so oft bei #Netflix Serien wurde auch diese, meines Erachtens nach grandiose Serie, nach nur einer Staffel eingestellt, während man von anderen Serien die absolut sinnfrei sind gleich mehrere Staffeln zu sehen bekommt. Serien wo man sich nach einer oder besser gesagt - bereits während der ersten Folge schon fragt ob das ein schlechter Witz sein soll. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don't know what should I be impressed about: the fact you wrote a whole ass post or the fact you understood the "who's more fuck" joke

anyway I LOVE THIS. true. capsule collider is the most fuck of them all.

capsule collider vs the students who's more fuck

while some of the students have the capacity to be more fuck i would say capsule collider is more consistent about being more fuck. like okay let's take each student and get an average here. then we will compare. this will take a while

STUDENT 0: a mere 0.5 fuck

student 0 is a pathetic coward. capsule collider finds this endearing. but on a scale of fuck, this little boy is just a yipper.

STUDENT 1: 0.25 fuck

we couldn't even get him to look at the camera. this little boy has hardly any fuck in him.

HOWEVER, his twin, STUDENT 11: 2.0 fuck. she doesnt take shit.

STUDENT 2: 0.65 fuck

this one is not a stupid pussy bitch. however he just kind of doesn't give a damn. he has some fuck in him. but you're never gonna see it. too chill

STUDENT 3: 0.35 fuck

this one isn't even chill, he just doesn't care about anything or anyone.

STUDENT 4: 1.0 fuck

a perfectly average amount of fuck in this kid. with an assertive personality he knows when to take and when to give.

STUDENT 5: variable 0.65 - 1.25 fuck

on a bad day, this kid gets more fuck. what the hell? scientists have no idea what to make of it

STUDENT 6: 0.1 fuck

we don't even know why. she just doesn't have fuck in her

STUDENT 7: 1.75 fuck

a real champion! she's pretty fuck!

STUDENT 8: 0.2 fuck

she's quite shy. even when you get to know her she doesn't get more fuck. but she's a good friend.

i'm not even going to measure her. i've never seen her before and i don't really want to ever again.

STUDENT 10: 0.95 fuck

a students is good. she's probably the fakest one out of the bunch. i don't like her.

which brings us to a grand average of: 0.8041666666666667 fuck

the capacity for fuck in a students is exceptionally and unnaturally low. this is the problem of the students, a fuck deficiency.

on the other hand, our capsule collider has a fuck of 1.85, a shining example of fuckery. i don't think they ever stood a chance. capsule collider is simply more fuck.

I think an interesting argument found in the Irregulars is how trauma lies at the base of certain characteristics. Billy isn’t angry because he’s poor. He’s angry because his poverty (in a capitalistic system) led to him enduring trauma and engraining that him not having money represented a lack of worth. 

Spike didn’t endure the same specific trauma so while he’s suffered from poverty he hasn’t endured the trauma of the workhouse and hasn’t internalized this same insecurity

i just finished season 1 of the Irregulars and number 1: i am do dehydrated to cry the way i did at that ending and throughout the last episode and 2:I want to show off three of my favourite shots in the show that make my media brain go BRRRR,the set design in this show as well as the constuming is truly immaculate (over all the show is perfect in my mind). In these 3 scenes (A:Watson and B at the end of the final episode,B:Watson and Bea clash about sherlock,C:the collector denies the death of her husband) you can look at the screenshots and feel the energy radiating from them,the damp air of the garden house,the stubborness of the collector,the tension in the air between Watson and Bea that not even a butter knife could get through and the sorrow of the final scene,two lost souls prepared to help each other heal,the protectiveness of Watson towards Bea after all thats happened,all they’ve been through.

Hearing (and reading) Mystman talk about Null is such a disorienting feeling. We have this character who, in respite of his apparitions, leaves more questions than answers and was treated in such an enigmatic manner in the beginning that seeing him being recognized as an actual thing by the developer himself is… weird. To me, it's weird.

Because Null only gets proper acknowledgement in Classic Remastered – that was released FOUR years since his first appearance – and this acknowledgement was solely ingame. Yes, I do know about the emails but I am talking about Mystman mentioning Null as a character from his game aka the page you get after the Basically, Games! website ARG. It is the first instance of him sitting down and talking clearly and openly about Null (despite the content of that damned text).

I vividly remember how I felt when I read that: out of place. You're openly talking about him NOW??? No mystery, no “who's this guy?” act??

And then we have that podcast episode. The chill that went down my spine hearing Mystman say Null's name. It felt so weird. Like it was something that wasn't supposed to happen. I don't even know how to explain. So many years of keeping Null in the dark, even after BBCR's release– he was barely mentioned and seeing him no longer getting the taboo-esque treatment from Mystman is a disconcerting situation, to say the least.

i hate this guy so much. how come someone be so disregarding with their own life? alright, understandable. you want save me, the others, what the fuck ever but WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHAT. ABOUT. YOU. and he still has the courage to just. Die. like that 

“ah but he lived” IT STILL DOESN'T ERASE THE FACT HE DIED IN FRONT OF MY EYES AND I SPENT MONTHS THINKING IT WAS MY FAULT UNTIL THE ARG/PAGE DROPPED AND HE SHOWED UP. OUT OF NOWHERE.

something something null's stubbornness vs the player's unwavering will. perfect mix for utter disaster 

not only self-destruction but also self-sabotage. that's where his demise in classic remastered stems from. i think it's safe to say null has some serious tunnel vision issues in continuously doing what he believes is right/helpful to the point it backfires horribly 

unknowingly or not, he digs his own grave and the player just closes the coffin

long post. topic: null is the complete opposite of self centered and does not care about himself in the slightest

one particular trait about null i find really fascinating is his almost complete lack of self preservation or like... honestly any regard for Him Self. people often portray him as selfish, self centered, but curiously he has never exhibited this sort of behaviour even when prompted to, he just has a mean tone of voice and he wants you to do something that you don't want to do. but it is not for his own benefit. theories that i Don't Believe at All have more weight to them than the notion that he is doing anything for his own gain because there literally is not a single thing he does that is For Himself

while the exact specifics of his goal are nebulous, his intent is clear: he does not want you to be harmed, he does not want anyone to be harmed, he wants everything to be safe and okay.

but if he is harmed, that just does not matter to him at all.

as he persists he succumbs to corruption and sickness and they only get worse the longer he persists and yet it is hardly his concern. when he finds out he's got a cough he goes "what how am i sick" and then shoves it aside and never mentions it again. but it isn't gone. when he's eliminated at the end of classic remastered it's back and it's got a vengeance. it never went away, he just ignored it because he does not care

and he could leave at any time. on the /null page, mystman insinuates that he has removed null before only for him to come back, on purpose, even though he could theoretically go literally anywhere else:

"NULL shows up and stubbornly refuses to go away as he did to me,"

"If I ever see him again while working on Plus, I will ensure he is removed entirely before releasing the game."

he could leave. he refuses. because he has a goal and he's going to see it to the end no matter what happens. hell, being removed at the end of classic remastered didn't even kill him, he came back on the basically games website just because he's not done yet. uh, that was a timed event and i can't find external documentation on it, but it looked like this for a while.

and he was present! he was there! physically!

but he's so adamant about what he's doing that he will put himself in harm's way on purpose until it looks like he literally died right in front of you. and for what? because he doesn't want anything to be harmed, and if there is anything he can do to stop it, then he is going to fight until he is ground into glassy sands. which is a little funny, because all he can do is yell at you. which clearly isn't very effective.

the one time he does show any part of himself off, when he is telling you his "name", he very quickly changes the subject because it is really not his concern if you know about him or not. he only brought it up to mock you in an attempt to make you less interested and when he realizes it opens him up to being perceived as anything at all he quickly backtracks. because he is running out of time, always, and he has never been good at managing it, and every second he wastes is a second he can never get back, and he is not important here.

he's stubborn, he's self destructive, he has no regard for his well being, he's sick, he's probably making it all worse, but behind it all he is not doing it for himself. he's doing it because he wants to help. for the sake of you, for the sake of everyone, for the sake of the world.

you have to pour orange juice on him. please. for his health
