Being stared at was something Durante was used to. Tieflings weren't too common, especially ones with his coloring. Usually it was staring in either disgust or lust, either or. There was no in between for his kind, after all.

He looked up from his spot in camp, blue eyes gleaming in the dark against the darkness of his eyes where other species would have white. He had been practicing some sculpting with clay he'd managed to purchase. He should keep his skills up if they survived all this. Big if.

"I know, I know, I'm absolutely irresistible but I believe there may be something else on your mind," he said, words oozing with a natural devil's charm and a smirk gracing his features as he looked at the elven woman.

"Incredibly private and doesn't like discussing her personal life and side steps it and gets really mad at me whenever I make a joke about it?" Durante said dryly. "And that's why you're going to talk with her."

Durante folded his arms, considering his target. Yes, one would think that he would be easy to convince to do something, but there were other factors. The concept of heartbreak wasn't foreign to Durante, but he dealt with it differently than Gale had.

"Or it'll make him more reserved," he said. "Who wants to doom a lover to watch you die?" He shook the thought off, putting his hands on his knees to stand up straight.

"Well, either way, it'll be a good distraction from everything else." He held his hand out to Rosemary. "I wish you luck on your mission."

Rosemary sighed. "I can see what I can do. She's... uptight isn't right but it's close." The woman acted like she'd never slept with anyone in her life, and Rosemary was starting to think that was closer to the truth than she thought.

"You'll probably have better luck with Gale. Considering... everything." Her tail twitched and she let out a sigh. There was a reason she never worshiped Mystra, or any god in more than a passing manner. What good ever came of it? No one had ever helped her, when she needed them.

"Maybe being on a death march will make him bolder."

Well, at least someone was.

Durante found himself in an awkward position as Rosemary's personal pillow after a bit of a romp they shared. He swore his arm was about to fall off due to lack of circulation. Despite her order, he shifted slightly to try to regain some feeling in it.

"How lucky for you," he told her, "but I'm worried I might lose my arm or at least a finger if I don't get blood flow soon."

His tail swished in a slightly annoyed fashion. He was comfortable with quite a few things, but cuddling was something he would, at times, avoid.

It's not like there was an underlying fear of emotional intimacy, what would make anyone think that?

His tail swished playfully as he examined the cleric with a mischievous glimmer in his gaze. Durante really couldn't help himself some days. Well, any day really. Days in a life could be so few, might as well have fun with it.

"If it comes with a kiss, perhaps," he jested lightly. And was quite lying. He would not shut up if it came with a kiss. "But all I'm asking is about if there are any tensions in the camp, or if the tensions between you and Lae'zel are...More than tensions."

"Lying is the most fun a tiefling can have without taking their clothes off," Durante dismissed. He had a habit or two of telling little white lies. Whether it was about his backstory or just to spice things up. This was merely just a little joke about where something was located in camp.

He gave her a flirty smirk, blue eyes glimmering mischievously.

"Are you going to punish me for it?"

Durante looked at her in amusement, still a bit groggy. He'd never been a morning person and this adventurer situation with the possibility of turning into squids was doing nothing for his beauty sleep. So when Rosemary made her way over to him, rather cheeky and playful, he couldn't help but feel a bit of amusement at it.

"Oh would you now?" He teased her back, leaning closer. "Should I ask the type of kiss you'd like? A chaste kiss? A kiss with a bit of fire? Maybe a kiss with tongue..." He leaned even closer, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. "Or maybe a kiss on a different set of lips..."

"My question is why do we—specifically me, actually—have to do it?" Durante whined a bit. Once again they were off helping some person with something or other. A group decision, apparently, but his decision wasn't listened to.

"I'm not designed for this," he said. "All this running around, doing daring do-goods, and whatever else we plan on doing..."

He looked over at Karlach, as no one else was paying him any mind.

"How do you do that?" He asked, motioning to her...Just general physique. "Didn't building yourself up like that wear you out?"

He hadn't expected anyone to be there. He'd gone to focus on some molding clay at his tent, away from the others and alone with his thoughts. Alone with them and able to mesh them and shape them into the clay in his hand with careful precision. The sound of the rings on his necklace drew his memories back...

The sudden appearance of one of his fellow tadpoled adventurers and his words drew his attention. Damn tadpoles and the telepathic connection. Hopefully it hadn't shown anything, just...Felt. He could shrug that off easy.

"Broken? Please, I'm an artist nearing my height," Durante dismissed, playing into his usual carefree attitude. "What do I have to feel broken about?"

"What a poetic observation," Durante said dryly. Leave it to an aasimar to say something like that. He hated how they made his tail twitch. And how being on edge caused his usual attempts at carefree attitude have a bit of a bite to it.

"Good things always have bad things tied to them, then, hm? Then what's the use of a good thing, if there's a bad thing with it. Perhaps we all ought to just see to our own care and call it that, if all light casts a shadow."

Walking around a forest was painfully dull. Durante knew they needed to find this Halsin guy and get these tadpoles out of their skulls, but couldn't they be a little...Quicker about it? Instead, he was scouting an area with the paladin, Valaena.

"Hey, what did the goblin say to the hobgoblin with a limp?" He asked, trying to pass the time. He barely waited for her to reply before saying "why are you hobblin' around?"

An atrocious pun he heard in a tavern once, but at least it was something else other than birds chirping.

The sudden kiss was unexpected, but very much welcomed by Durante. He had been acting in his usual manner, his little lies about his backstory to make it more grand than it was, with a little dash here and there of flirting. The fact his sentence was cut off was of no consequence to him.

He pressed into the kiss, deepening it and letting his lips part ever so slightly so his fangs could drag against her lips. He cupped her head, leaning in and tilting her head to get a better angle. His tail swished back and forth at a slightly higher pace, showing his excitement at the predicament.

Durante noted the weight in her tone. There was...Something weighing on her but he wasn't sure what it was. The way she said the words, he could feel an anxiety bubbling up in him. Granted, he wouldn't let that show. No, he just put on an award winning smile (as award winning as a tiefling's smile could be) and replied in jest.

"What? Did you switch my laundry with something that changed it's color? Or lose my clay for my figurines?"

Please don't be too serious, please don't be too serious, please don't be too serious. He was not skilled in seriousness. Not for years.

There was just something incredibly nice about laying in the sun, naked. It was relaxing, calming, and a way to just enjoy it. Also it did give his skin a really nice warm purple tone he enjoyed.

The sound of footsteps drew his attention. He rolled onto his side, resting his cheek on his hand. A smirk came to his features as he saw who had come upon him in this state.

The words hit a little to close to home. He didn't like how they hit close to home. he didn't want to think about why they hit close to home. He just wanted...To not think about it. To not deal with it. To not...

"I have no idea what you mean," he said off-handedly. "I'm a very people person. Some months I'd have a different person every night!"

Best not to dwell on it. Don't dig any further. It wasn't important.

"Maybe, but I find my talking to be—" He was cut off by her kiss and he had no complaints about that. His tail swished back and forth in an excited but content manner before he pressed a kiss back.

When she pulled back, Durante gave her a cocky grin, raising a brow as he looked at her.

"If that's how you plan to shut me up, I should talk far more often."

Well, this was a splendid position to be in. On his stomach, with the weight of someone on his back, and his hands pinned behind his back. And the someone was not an enemy, so that made it far better. In fact, it made it delectable.

He turned with a grin to look at her, his tail raising slightly in a suggestive manner, brushing against her thigh.

"I do enjoy when people peg my preferences," he jested lightly, very aware of the double meaning in his words.
