i think i might as well figure out some AU lore.. because i have not though about it much at all.
the humans all live in the same small port town! emu is the daughter of the mayor(?), but she spends most of her time at the docks. because of this, her and tsukasa are good friends.
tsukasa has tried to get emu to fish with him, but any time they are together, they end up scaring all the fish away. oops.
leoneed is still a band, but they preform at local venues. ichika, saki, and shiho are all human, while honami is half human, half sea animal. she is able to hide her sea animal identity, but her bandmates all know her secret. somehow tsukasa didn't know until he met rui and saki was like "uhm. you didn't know..?"
mafuyu is also a fisherman, albeit a much more quiet (and successful) one than tsukasa. tsukasa doesn't know how to feel about this person.
toya, shizuku, and kohane are all human residents of the town.
an, akito, ena, and minori are half human, half sea animal, like honami.
rui is a spotted seal who used to live in the harbor, but now he spends half his time at tsukasa's house. him and saki get along very well.
the other sea animals include nene (cherry salmon), mizuki, kanade, airi, and haruka.
*notes: some of the characters are adults (like tsukasa) because i want to give them adult jobs. some are still teenagers (leoneed) because i think it's funny to make the age gap between tsukasa and saki larger. the two of them live alone (their parents probably have a travelling job in this AU) simply because i don't want to have to deal with parents getting involved with tsukasa bringing a seal to his house.
*more notes: i am still thinking about more specific roles for certain characters! i will figure it out in due time. this also goes for what type of animal the sea creatures/hybrids are. i'll have to look into local japanese ocean wildlife i guess.
